@Highfalutinlootin I get where you’re coming from - we tried for nearly a year to get pregnant and I wanted it so much, but now I am I’m fighting off apathy towards it, I think mainly because I feel so rough most days (also because it’s giving me horrific nightmares most nights - hormones 🙄). I’m just trying to remember that this feeling will pass and I think once we get out of the first trimester and get little bumps we might feel a bit more connected to the pregnancy.

Taybz · 01/02/2021 12:14

@GWhiteley @unicornpower thanks for the well wishes. @unicornpower I did dilute the second sample but the line was still more faded hence my worries. Despite drinking loads, my wee is still very strong though, sorry tmi but where else can you share this 😀 I'm trying to keep a sane head for the scan later fingers crossed.

Brightspark12 · 01/02/2021 12:31

@dizzypixie you explained exactly how I feel! I thought I would be over the moon but I’m really struggling with feeling odd and not myself. Hopefully it’s the rush of hormones! Xx

yorkshiremummytobe · 01/02/2021 14:41

@Highfalutinlootin so sorry to hear how poorly you are feeling, must be really tough. My friend who gave birth to the loveliest baby boy back in August was exactly the same as you describe, she really struggled through the first trimester. I am sure your body will soon start adjusting to the hormones and you will stop feeling so sick and regain your appetite 🤞 she absolutely thrived through 2nd and 3rd trimesters.

I've not been feeling sick, but my headaches are really horrid. Anyone else struggling with headaches? I don't normally get them and never had a migrain, but in the last week had three really bad episodes. Yesterday's started just after lunch and I couldn't even watch TV or eat dinner. Barely slept last night and am having to have a bed day today (in a dark and quiet room) as not much better. Not ideal when can only take paracetamol and even then I'm trying to limit these!

MrsMcNtobe · 01/02/2021 15:56

Hey everyone congrats on early scans! Sorry I’ve been quiet here I have been ILL 😭

Any tips for eating and drinking with nausea? Feel like anything I do eat is just not healthy/nutritious and my fluids go between water, fruit juice and fizzy juice and even then I’m probably only having 1-2 litres in fluid a day .. worried it’s unhealthy for me and the wee one

dizzypixie · 01/02/2021 16:26

@MrsMcNtobe sorry to hear you’re in the same boat! I’m just eating whatever I can - I used to eat super healthily, but all I’ve been eating recently are crackers, plain biscuits and yogurts. I’m not feeling guilty about it as I’m doing the best I can and also taking a multi vitamin. I would say that yogurts have been the only thing I’ve come close to enjoying eating, so maybe try that? Try also ginger tea and ginger beer for hydration.

But honestly, don’t beat yourself up about it, just do what you can, I think the baby at this stage is fine with whatever you eat (as long as pregnancy safe), and speak to your doctor about getting enough fluids.

unicornpower · 01/02/2021 17:20

@MrsMcNtobe oh no! Sorry you've been so sick, have you called the doctors? Mine gave me some medication that has helped so much (I've still been sick but today is the first day I've laughed and felt normal in weeks!) Although now I'm worried that something has gone wrong. Never happy are we. Dont worry about what you're eating, just try and get fluids down, I found ice lollies have been a saviour for me. Im just drinking tonic water, coke and fizzy water and the doctor tested me pee on Friday and she said it was fine- give them a call for peace of mind x

Blessedbutstressed96 · 01/02/2021 17:35

Had painful stomach cramps last night been worried sick since. Can’t wait till Wednesday I just want to know if everything is ok. The waiting is so hard in pregnancy

Bubbles1st · 01/02/2021 17:46

So we caved in and had an early scan today just to be sure as I've had hardly any symptoms abs baby is so wanted needed to know it was for real.

Well so far so good. Measured at 8+1 which is what expected for EDD12th.

Saw heartbeat flickering and it was amazing.
Feeling very lucky to have not be suffering with the nausea like so many of you. Going to be super grateful from now on it's just lucky.

AdventuresAwait · 01/02/2021 18:20

So pleased it went well @Bubbles1st! Yay! That's great news x

Blessedbutstressed96 · 01/02/2021 18:35

@Bubbles1st lovely to hear your scan went well

Sillysocks998 · 02/02/2021 06:34

Morning everyone 🌞
I will need to purchase itchy belly cream soon. Does anyone have any recommendations for this? @AnitaB83 thank you regarding exercise tips. You are super fit xx
I'm walking today. Hopefully there's more spring like weather 🚶‍♀️

H3llie · 02/02/2021 09:25

Hi @Sillysocks998 - lots of women I know recommend aveeno as the oats in it are really soothing 😊

H3llie · 02/02/2021 09:30

@Blessedbutstressed96 must be so hard waiting. Only one more day now. Fingers crossed all is ok for you 🤗

@Bubbles1st how lovely! We had ours last week, estimated 8+3. It was really reassuring but I'm still worrying daily that something will go wrong.
My nausea is so weird - no actual sickness but constant churning. Having some odd meals to cope! Currently eating porridge with raspberries and half a bar of chocolate chucked in it this morning 🙈

Blessedbutstressed96 · 02/02/2021 09:32

Thanks @H3llie been horrible but this time tomorrow I should know. I just feel pretty rubbish, think I’ve got the cold on top of it all. Hoping for good news tomorrow but everytime I start to relax I’ll feel an odd cramp or pain and I worry 😢

Bubbles1st · 02/02/2021 09:33

@H3llie I know it's still early and anything can happen before next scan even but just going to enjoy the next 4 weeks until 2nd trimester. I am lucky I have minimal symptoms and don't want to add unnecessary worry which won't change anything.

If anyone is interested I have started listening to some pregnancy manifesting and mindset on YouTube and I find it really relaxing - when I can stay awake !

H3llie · 02/02/2021 09:39

@Bubbles1st it's a great mindset! I will have a look at that, thanks 😊 my 12 week scan is on 18th so looking forward to that as I'll probably relax a bit more if all is fine then.

@Blessedbutstressed96 oh dear, that definitely won't help the way you feel! Hope you can put your feet up and watch some rubbish TV to distract you. Cramps are normal for lots of people, try not to worry (easier said than done I know!)

Blessedbutstressed96 · 02/02/2021 09:43

@H3llie definitely not helping, I would love to but I’ve got to go to work. My works really quiet at the minute with Covid so I’ll probably only do half a shift. I know a lot can be normal but I can’t remember having pains with my ds he’s now 4 going on 5 though so I’ve maybe forgotten Walsh pregnancy now. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get some good news , I just want to be able to relax we’ve tried for over two years so such a blessing to even be pregnant

Kirky658 · 02/02/2021 09:47

Hi ladies, sorry I lost you all for a couple of days there, wasn't getting any notifications! Lovely to hear your scans are all looking good ❤️ I've got mine Thursday evening and I'm equal parts terrified and excited.. DH is beside himself with excitement. Still feeling exhausted, napping 2 hours a day, sore boobs but I think the nausea has declined a bit, I found its worse when I'm hungry so I'm snacking every couple hours, and having a big bowl of porridge for breakfast helps to keep me full till lunchtime. Had some bad cramps the other evening, was worried as was like endometriosis style cramps again, but went as quickly as they came thank god.

Also on the exercising front, sorry can't remember who to tag, but midwife told me to just go steady (she actually said when I saw her face to face I'd realise she never does any exercise lol) so I'm running 3 times a week at a pace about a minute and a half a mile slower than my previous times. This seems to be fine but my god on the running days I am dead to the world at 8pm. I'm also sick of running to pee and experiencing constipation every other day which is fun 🤣

Kirky658 · 02/02/2021 09:50

@yorkshiremummytobe I'm also struggling with headaches and trying to limit paracetamol, I'm using the 4head menthol roll on thing which helps a bit xx

hippinghen · 02/02/2021 10:13

Morning ladies haven't checked in for a little while - hope you are all doing well? I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and triage with midwife on Thursday. Apart from a few rough days in week 4 I haven't had much sickness - just sore boobs, warm, tired and staying to get forgetful! Weird. Have been really comforted by some of your posts and wishing those well who are suffering with terrible sickness. I'm afraid it's way too early but I have been looking at cots etc couldn't help myself!! Xx

Taybz · 02/02/2021 10:54

Morning ladies, had my scan yesterday and everything went well. We saw the little heartbeat pounding - it was magical! I can't believe there's really a little one inside me 😃 it's made the whole thing less surreal now! Only strange thing is that the sonographer said I'm actually 7+5 and not 7 which doesn't quite make sense based on my last period date. Anyone else get this?

@Bubbles1st so glad yours went well too!

@Blessedbutstressed96 good luck with yours tomorrow! I know it's anxiety inducing but I'm sure everything will go well! Xx

Kirky658 · 02/02/2021 11:29

@taybz ahhh glad it went well! I could be wrong but I think it can measure differently depending on when you actually conceived, they just use the LMP as a guide apparently. Slightly closer to that 12 weeks tho hey!

I've got my scan Thursday night, can't wait now xx

AdventuresAwait · 02/02/2021 11:44

Yay @Taybz! That's great news. So happy for you x

unicornpower · 02/02/2021 12:01

@taybz thats great news! have been thinking of you and hoped it would all go okay!
