Thank you @AdventuresAwait any tips for nerves? Haha x

AnitaB83 · 31/01/2021 09:27

@unicornpower and @Sillysocks998, good luck with your scans! :) and to anybody else having scans today ! Flowers Flowers Flowers

I went to Window of the Womb, they were nice in general but, while preparing for the vaginal scan, she told me to open my legs as much as possible and I was going to of course do it when I saw the scan probe but in the meantime I was going to keep my legs closed. She insisted on me to keep my legs opened and told me: "No dignity in pregnancy"!!

How could she say this?? dignity always and more during pregnancy!! Angry Angry

AdventuresAwait · 31/01/2021 09:37

@unicornpower, I don't know! Do you have someone going with you? I was quite nervous but tried to turn my feelings to excitement! But also, I just kept wondering if everything was OK so I felt calm in a way that I'd soon know. I found it hard not knowing and one minute thinking everything was fine & the next that it wasn't. I needed to know. So I couldn't get there quick enough, even though I was nervous!

Sorry if that doesn't help or make much sense...!

RadDarwazeh · 31/01/2021 10:14

Morning girls

Regarding symptoms, woke up with super painful boobs especially centrally. I had to put on a wireless bra immediately for some support which helped. Might have to sleep in them from now

Good luck everyone having scans!

I agree dignity should always be respected. I guess the nurse sees so many per day she just wanted to get on with it? However every patient is different and that should matter too. @AnitaB83

Sillysocks998 · 31/01/2021 10:55

@AdventuresAwait @unicornpower @beckyBP
Morning Ladies I do feel nervous, not very many symptoms today. So to protect myself I'm preparing for the worst I think. I had a bleed 8 days ago, no period yet or blood again. But hardly any symptomss either going to ruin my day or make my day.
Good luck ladies. Speak tonight xx

Sillysocks998 · 31/01/2021 10:56

@Chica1990
Of course morning sickness! You see I'm such a dimwit. 🙄. Hope you're ok today x

Sillysocks998 · 31/01/2021 10:57

@AnitaB83

I agree thats a terrible thing to say. We should always be treated with the utmost dignity. They probably see so many of us, they've lost that personal touch sometimes.

AnitaB83 · 31/01/2021 11:48

@AdventuresAwait @Sillysocks998

Yes, I know, everybody is busy. I actually understood her point, it was her words that stroke me. I guess that she did not even realise what she said. I did not comment anything at the time either (I was more interested in getting to see the baby!:))

Good luck @Sillysocks998, do not worry about symptoms, I do not have any either (only slightly enlarged boobs) and I am 7+3 (although 6+5 according to scan)

CherylLW · 31/01/2021 12:23

@unicornpower I was so nervous until I stepped in to the building. The people who worked there were so calming and there wasn’t much waiting around. It’s natural to think the worst, keeping everything crossed for you x

@AdventuresAwait
I think it was between a week and 2 weeks after that I received my letter about the scan. Although I had to call my maternity centre about re scheduling my blood tests and they already had my scan date on my notes, they just hadn’t sent the letter yet.... so they told me over the phone. :) x

AdventuresAwait · 31/01/2021 12:40

Ok thanks @CherylLW x

AdventuresAwait · 31/01/2021 12:41

I'm feeling really emotional today. My back ache is really bothering me too. How's everyone else today?

Bubbles1st · 31/01/2021 14:07

@AdventuresAwait I'm getting a bit bothered about lack of symptoms. Keep swinging between being grateful and feeling lucky to not being ill or worry if all is ok :/

yorkshiremummytobe · 31/01/2021 14:53

@GWhiteley so your sickness kicked in when you were about 6 weeks? I'm bracing myself! Sounds petty but one thing that's s bothering me at the moment is my skin is so bad, feel like I've regressed to teenage ache stage again. Anyone else having this issue? Guess its the hormones. And I'm putting it in perspective, as long as baby healthy and developing well then I would accept any spots or bad skin! And at least there's nowhere to go and noone to see these days. That's actually making it easier too the whole not drinking thing, that would be a massive red flag to my friends if I was seeing them and nights out etc 🤣 anyone having any issues or struggles keeping it secret? X

unicornpower · 31/01/2021 15:19

Hey ladies!

Scan went great, baby is measuring 6w6d and a little heartbeat 💓 I am so relieved and need a lie down haha x

AdventuresAwait · 31/01/2021 15:22

Fantastic news @unicornpower! So happy for you! X

Sillysocks998 · 31/01/2021 15:47

Hi Everyone, I've had my scan today too and it's good news 🙏😍❤️❤️. Thanks God. We saw a heat beat. I'm 6 weeks tomorrow we thought. The bleed was a haemtoma. She said we can get these sometimes. It's still really early days I'm still scared but so glad we've got to this point. The staff at WTTW were lovely. I'd recommend them to you for an early scan. Just had lunch and like @unicornpower I feel like a nap now 😂😴❤️❤️. Lots of love ladies, stay well and great were on the journey together. God keep our babies safe and healthy. Amen. 🙏

AdventuresAwait · 31/01/2021 15:51

@Bubbles1st, there's so much to think about isn't there! My symptoms stopped for a while and I worried. They are back now but many people told me that symptoms come and go, and some don't have any at all. This is all so new to me so I think it's natural to worry a little as I don't know they to expect.
How many weeks are you? Sorry, I know you've said but it's hard to remember everybody's details.

AdventuresAwait · 31/01/2021 15:53

Amen @Sillysocks998. So pleased to hear that all is good and you saw the heartbeat. Great news xx

Lola0309 · 31/01/2021 16:09

Hi ladies. Lovely news to read those who can had scans today and all went well. I’m really looking forward to mine now but anxious too.
Just logged and after eating a whole bag of onion ring crisps whilst sitting on the sofa all day! No energy whatsoever, getting up to fetch the crisps was effort enough! How’s everyone else doing?
My husbands just asked if I can start tea tonight and I’m gagging already!! X

CherylLW · 31/01/2021 16:19

So happy for you @unicornpower and @Sillysocks998 it’s such a nice feeling to know it all went perfectly isn’t it!

When I had mine I knew it’s still early days but knowing things are ok right now is ready reassuring ❤️

JeccaP · 31/01/2021 16:22

Fantastic news from all of you who've had your scans! That's great. I was going to book a scan with Window to the Womb last week but I spoke to them first to see whether their scans would pickup molar pregnancies and they said it wouldn't. That's what I was actually worried about again so will just wait for my normal scan which will hopefully be at 10 weeks, I'm 7+3 so not too much longer. Was a bit confused as she said a molar pregnancy wouldn't show up until at least 12 weeks or even 16 weeks, and my last pregnancy they could see at 7 weeks, but maybe they're slightly different scans to the NHS ones, I don't know??

I was feeling a bit of general nauseous last week but nothing this week either, but the fact a few of your have said you've got no symptoms or theyve eased off helps.
X

unicornpower · 31/01/2021 16:58

@Sillysocks998 oh yay thats fab! I also would recommend WTTW, the staff were fab and really caring, my sonographer was a guy and he was so lovely and reassuring. We had a McDonald's on the way home and im relaxing with an ice lolly Grin

Madeoftea · 31/01/2021 17:29

@unicornpower I'm so glad your scan went well, you must be so happy. I hope you feel like you can relax a tad now Smile

I have my scan on Wednesday and I'm so nervous!

Madeoftea · 31/01/2021 17:31

@Sillysocks998 that's great news! Especially seeing a heart beat so early, I'm hoping for the same this week. Do you feel more at ease at all?

Sillysocks998 · 31/01/2021 17:46

Thank you everyone. I do feel more at ease. Still very early days and I've got a long way to go managing my transplant and that side of things too. I do have an appointment next week, it's because they'll keep an extra eye on me. This morning I thought I'd have a good positive breakfast with live food and I swear it's done me over! Perhaps just eating basic simple food like white bread instead of lots of fruit is better. Its caused a bit of havoc with my tummy. Is anyone exercising? I'm quite fit, but I'm not sure what is acceptable. Thank you for the love today xx
