Thanks all! for those having early scans, I also hope you see your babies heartbeat soon! SmileFlowers.

I recommend having one, although my pregnancy was dated later than I thought (almost a week earlier, and this made me worried a bit again), it is reassuring seeing the heartbeat.:)

NommyChompers · 30/01/2021 12:01

Is anyone reading any books or using any apps they’d really recommend?

Brightspark12 · 30/01/2021 12:02

@yorkshiremummytobe welcome congratulations! I am showing as due 30th September so day after you 🥰 I am also a first time mum and very confused- yeah it does mean weeks and days. I keep feeling like I want to keep checking if I’m still pregnant 😂 I know it sound stupid but apart from sore boobs which have eased now I don’t have any symptoms (lucky I know) but that does worry me! X

Blessedbutstressed96 · 30/01/2021 12:10

@Kirky658 you are better to wait more likely to see more ❤️ Thankyou I hope so !

@H3llie yes been very stressful. Aw I’m glad you had such a good scan! I’m hoping to get another one around 8 weeks I’m on the red according to my midwife so hoping they keep close eye on me and peanut.

@GWhiteley so glad everything turned out good for you hoping we get the same results 🤞🏼 Stressful times

@AdventuresAwait I’m so glad you’re husband was allowed in for support hoping my partner is allowed. It says he is to 12 and 20 week and to emergency appointments but doenst mention early scans he’s going to come and hopefully they let him in. Praying we get some good news, my little boy is five this year and starting school so jt would be great timing for us so hoping all goes well. I am feeling a bit more at ease as days go on

yorkshiremummytobe · 30/01/2021 12:29

@Brightspark12 thank you! In that case I am 5+6 😀 I completely know what you mean, I was expecting to be sick as a dog as I am usually quite a nauseous person, but feel the best I've ever felt only a couple of headaches which I think may have been going cold turkey on caffeine. I'm just bracing myself, stocking up on ginger biscuits! Booked a private scan for 14th and Feb and waiting till then to even tell close family. I'm so dying to tell people but managing to keep schtum 😊 look forward to hearing about other people's scam experiences! X

AdventuresAwait · 30/01/2021 13:25

@Blessedbutstressed96, it is great that your partner can come to the 12 and 20 week scans! Mine can't for the 12 week, which is another reason we wanted an early one. We think he can be at the 20 week scan but not sure. Hoping so.

Blessedbutstressed96 · 30/01/2021 13:32

@AdventuresAwait that’s good you got one and hopefully the 20 week. It’s a bit rubbish at the minute the way things are you want to be able to experience it all together. This is my partners first baby and really don’t want him to miss anything and I done my first pregnancy on my own so hoping he can be there for the most part of the apps etc

AdventuresAwait · 30/01/2021 14:08

Yes @Blessedbutstressed96, this will be our only time so would love to experience everything together and go to appointments rather than have phone conversations but I understand the need for the restrictions. I'm trying to focus on the excitement that it is actually happening & our future as a family!

Sillysocks998 · 30/01/2021 15:16

Hi Ladies,
Some days I forgot I'm pregnant. I don't ahev many symptoms. The other day I had a sore chest, the muscles and boobs. Today nothing really. I felt tired initially but it's a different tired. It's a dumbed down tired. Not physically. Or that could be the lockdown. Not sure lol. I'm 5 +6. Got my scan this weekend. Not sure what it will show as I had that initial bleed. I feel like my life has been on hold this week. Hopefully can move forward tomorrow. Really hoping to see a heart beat tomorrow but it might be too early.

AdventuresAwait · 30/01/2021 15:44

Will be thinking of you tomorrow @Sillysocks998! X

Sillysocks998 · 30/01/2021 17:26

@AdventuresAwait
Thanks lovely. I've got a very sensetive scalp too! Painful. I'll update tomorrow. 🙏❤️

Chica1990 · 30/01/2021 18:24

@Sillysocks998 some days I forget I’m pregnant because I just feel like I’m ill atm. A constant battle of putting food in, going to the loo, drinking, sleeping to wake up feeling crap again. I was like you and at 6+3 it hit me!

I’m struggling and can’t imagine weeks of feeling like this! I’ve got stuff from the docs now but it’s not the miracle I was hoping for

Sillysocks998 · 30/01/2021 18:29

@Chica1990
What's wrong why are you poorly. Sorry if you've already said on here. I'm sorry to hear that. It could hit me abruptly, I've been through quite alot with my own health, so I think I can tolerate quite abit. But let's see, I can only see as far as tomorrow at the minute. I really hope you're ok. That's not fun. Just keep trying witth food and water for now and resting. Go back to Dr if things aren't improving xx

Blessedbutstressed96 · 30/01/2021 18:36

@AdventuresAwait I really hope you get to experience it all together

@Chica1990 is it sickness you’ve got? I had sickness throughout my whole pregnancy with ds right up until labour not much helped but for the most part the only tablets that worked were ondansetron tablets. Nearer the end though only sickness injections worked. I lost 3 and half stone in my pregnancy first time around

unicornpower · 30/01/2021 19:20

@Chica1990 what tablets have you got? I will say mine took about 5 days to properly kick in and allow me to get on top of my eating and even then im still being sick most days. Its a struggle but you're definitely not alone and we totally understand how you feel! I feel hungover all the time and it is so draining x

Chica1990 · 30/01/2021 19:41

I know I sound dramatic and some of you actually being sick will probably roll your eyes when I say I haven’t actually committed but please remember you are much braver people than me! I spend hours on the very brink of being sick I just do everything I can not to succumb to it, turning the heating off and putting ice or cold flannels on me while sitting naked so I’m numb and shaking, holding my hand over my mouth and trying to breathe through it and not standing up quick and staying close to the floor crawling to bed (where I have two fans on me). I probably do myself worse fighting it off for hours and so feel awful for hours but I’m just so scared of being sick. I can’t eat properly after, it always gives me a storming headache and always feel awful and would really struggle to replenish what I got rid of as I wouldn’t want to eat after. I’m 46/47 kg atm and I really don’t want to lose weight from sickness when we should be putting it on, I’m trying everything I can do put it on while not tipping myself over the sick edge!

@Sillysocks998 I think it’s just morning sickness feeling now my hcg levels are high. I’m not unwell often at all so have no tolerance so you will probably fair better!

@Blessedbutstressed96 up until labour 😱😱😱 omg what a miserable time, how terrible for you. I really hope mine passes.

@unicornpower I feel such a wuss speaking to you about because you have been suffering terribly! I’m taking omeprazole and prochlorperazine, is this what you have?

unicornpower · 30/01/2021 19:53

@Chica1990 oh dont be silly! I totally get it, you have a phobia of being sick so its worse for you for sure, you do sound really poorly though, I know you are terrified but would you not feel better for being sick? I say this as I felt awful after my dinner and I knew I couldn't fight it and I'd feel better if I just let it happen. I know its easy for me to say as although I dont like being sick it doesn't affect me as much as it does you. I hope you feel better though as its not easy. No, im taking metoclopramide hydrochloride which seems to be at least taking the edge off although I still heave and am sick everyday 🙃

@Chica1990 yeh I had my mum holding a sick bowl. But as soon as I gave birth it stopped. I’m praying I don’t have the same this time around. Just don’t let gp midwife fob you off. They never realised how serious my weight loss was because every midwife app as soon as I done the urine she’d say I was dehydrated and send me to epu for fluids etc. So it was a while before the weight loss etc was even noticed I was about 8 months by then

GWhiteley · 30/01/2021 23:26

@yorkshiremummytobe you're so lickyj

GWhiteley · 30/01/2021 23:30

@yorkshiremummytobe you're so lucky to have minimal symptoms! I'm 8+3 and on week 6 feeling nauseous really kicked in. And not just in the morning but all times of the day. And the weirdest things set me off, like the rubber of my hot water bottle at night, literally makes me gag! I'd be a bit happier if I was actually sick, at least then I might feel better afterwards! I hope your scan on the 14th goes well, I'm currently waiting for my 12 wk scan to be booked

Jay3004 · 31/01/2021 06:31

Has anyone else got the date for their 12 week scan? My letter came yesterday. It’s booked for the 11th March which seems ages away but I’ve got an early scan booked next Saturday so keeping my fingers crossed that everything is okay and we see a heartbeat xx

CherylLW · 31/01/2021 07:38

Hope your scan goes amazingly today @unicornpower and anyone else who has theirs today!

I’m 9+2 today and I feel so nauseous all the time! I’m struggling to know what to eat... I never know if I feel sick as I’m hungry but then eating makes me feel sick! I’m eating really basic foods and vegetables make my stomach turn!

@AdventuresAwait I saw you asked about your booking appointment a while back over the phone... I had mine about 3 weeks ago, they ask a lot of questions about your health, your partners, your parents etc. After the phone call the midwife texted me with my appointments for blood tests and also my 16 week appointment. X

unicornpower · 31/01/2021 08:16

@CherylLW thank you so much, im so nervous! I've convinced myself itll be bad news so trying to snap out of it and think positive xx

AdventuresAwait · 31/01/2021 08:46

Thank you @CherylLW, that's great. I have mine this week. When do they give you the date of the 12 week scan? Seems different in each area.

All the best for your scans today @unicornpower and @Sillysocks998 xx
