@mrandmrslobster, video call sounds better as you'll get to see them, if that makes sense! Mine is definitely just a phone call.

Ooh you have your scan date already? How is that arranged?

Hopefulmummie · 29/01/2021 21:20

@Lola0309 thank you ❤️ I had a weird feeling too. I got pregnant straight after my miscarriage so wasn't sure on when my period would be due but was tracking ovulation.
Yes it was lovely it's the 1st successful scan and I was just expecting bad news again so it was great to be able to see a little baby.
That does sound sensitive.. I remember after my miscarriage hearing people I know announce pregnancies and as much as I wanted to be happy for them there was a part of me wishing it was me but I'm sure she will be over the moon for you both

Lola0309 · 29/01/2021 21:31

@dizzypixie haha I think he thinks I’ve got a good deal at the moment and laying it on thick but I can’t describe it. Once the food is infront of me as long as I eat it straight away without thinking I’m good. Yet I could eat chocolate all day and that’s weird as I never really ate it before!

@AdventuresAwait yes I was starting to think it’s time to chase it up - I will ring them on Monday and see what’s happening! Thanks!

@Hopefulmummie I can’t imagine, must be a mix of emotions, so glad everything went well for you.

Lovely to meet you all ladies xx

dizzypixie · 29/01/2021 21:45

@Lola0309 haha, absolute same! I also have to leave the room as soon as I’ve had enough otherwise I just want to vom. I really miss enjoying food!

Blessedbutstressed96 · 29/01/2021 21:52

Hope it’s ok to join☺️ Im 5+3 found out on the 20th. This will be my second baby, I have a 4 year old boy. We’ve been trying for over 2 years had a chemical pregnancy early on in trying. Were going through fertility before Covid and luckily have fell naturally. A few days after finding out I was getting cramps but more to one side so went to a&e bloods all fine and sent home but I have a scan this coming Wednesday I’ll be 6+1. Still cramping now and again but hoping all normal, after chemical I’m so worried. But as the days go on and no bleed etc I’m feeling more relaxed about the cramps and also backache.
Congratulations to you all hope you’re all enjoying pregnancy

I didn't expect to be told that until the video call but they just sent both letters to me in the same envelope. One with first appointment and information as to how to log on to the video call. Then the second letter for the 12 week scan.

I'm honesty bumbling my way through. Haven't got a clue what I'm doing.

ChrAmbaby · 29/01/2021 22:21

@Blessedbutstressed96 congratulations on your news... fingers crossed for your scan. Glad you are feeling better too!

Blessedbutstressed96 · 29/01/2021 22:35

@ChrAmbaby Thankyou ! Really hoping all goes well, I really want it to. Yeh feeling better just get crampy more at night time and sore back. But still having sore boobs etc so hoping all is as it should be

AdventuresAwait · 30/01/2021 07:30

@mrandmrslobster, bumbling my way through here too!

@Blessedbutstressed96, congratulations! All the best for your scan x

Kirky658 · 30/01/2021 08:14

Morning ladies, gahhhh I haven't been able to go no2 for 2 days 😭 it's stressing me out

unicornpower · 30/01/2021 08:51

@Lola0309 congratulations! So exciting, I think its lovely you are being sensitive towards your sister in law, she will be over the moon for you she might just need some time! I was in her position in September and my BIL wasn't sensitive in the slightest and it made me feel terrible do its great youre already thinking about that! Weve got an early scan tomorrow and I'm terrified that something will have gone wrong so I'm kind of just coasting through today as best as possible.
How are you feeling? Im sick everyday and its so debilitating but oddly I find it a bit of a comfort too (although I would like to eat some actual food soon!)

Are there anymore scans coming up? Ours is tomorrow afternoon. Yelp!

yorkshiremummytobe · 30/01/2021 08:58

Hi everyone! New to Mumsnet, first time pregnancy. Found out last Saturday (4 tests to make sure!) and honestly still getting my head around it. I think due around 29th Sept. There's lots of lingo I don't understand on here haha hope you can enlighten me! When you say e.g. 4+3, does that mean 4 weeks and 3 days since the start of your last period? I think this kind of forum will be so valuable to me as I have no idea what I'm doing or what to expect, just want to make sure I understand what's being said 🤣 thanks in advance x

GWhiteley · 30/01/2021 09:31

@beckyBP

Hey ladies,

Just thought it might be a nice idea for any of us first time mums just finding out to have a thread to chat on.

I found out Monday and am now 4+4.

Hi can I join this group? I'm also due in September following a mc last June & would be great to have other pregnant women to talk to as other than my husband & my mum no one else knows yet!

I've been feeling sick on & off for the last 2 weeks & this isn't helped by the fact my sense of smell has gone into overdrive & there are some things that just turn my stomach now 🤢 which my husband finds hilarious. Hope everyone is doing well

AdventuresAwait · 30/01/2021 10:10

I know what you mean @unicornpower - I don't like the nausea but at the same time, find it reassuring and worry when I don't have it! Will be thinking of you tomorrow x

Welcome and congratulations @yorkshiremummytobe & @GWhiteley!

AnitaB83 · 30/01/2021 10:21

@Kirky658 @unicornpower @AdventuresAwait and all, many thanks. the scan went well. We could see the heartbeat thankfully and she told me that, according to size, I am 6+3 instead of 7+1. I hope this is OK.

@Kirky658, about the exercise, thanks! I will try to keep my routine as much and for as long as possible too:)

AdventuresAwait · 30/01/2021 10:27

@AnitaB83, so glad your scan went well and you saw the heartbeat 💓

Blessedbutstressed96 · 30/01/2021 10:33

@AdventuresAwait thanks very much hoping it goes well

Anyone else had any early scans or due any ?

Kirky658 · 30/01/2021 10:42

@anitab83 yay glad the scan went well!

@blessedbutstressed96 our scan is Thursday I'll be 7+5 😊

Blessedbutstressed96 · 30/01/2021 10:46

@Kirky658 that’s good you’ve a great chance of seeing heartbeat then. Mine is Wednesday I’ll only be 6+1 so hoping I see something cause the 6 weeks till my next scan will drive me insane otherwise. Hoping if it’s too early for heartbeat I’ll get another in a couple weeks time

Kirky658 · 30/01/2021 10:52

@blessedbutstressed96 I had booked for 6+4 but window to the womb advised I leave it a week just in case - it killed me to agree lol! Good luck with yours hun x

H3llie · 30/01/2021 10:55

@Blessedbutstressed96 it sounds like you've had a bit of stressful time! I'm sure it will all be fine though and sounds normal 🤗
We had a private scan last week, at 8wks+3. It was brilliant, and reassured me after having mc at 9 weeks before. I would definitely recommend it.

GWhiteley · 30/01/2021 10:55

@AdventuresAwait yes I had to have a scan last week due to serious cramping & then some blood so they were worried it was an ectopic pregnancy so called me in for a scan. Luckily everything is fine & it was amazing to see it & saw the heart beating. I'm 8 weeks pregnant (don't know what the 4+2 (for example) means sorry

GWhiteley · 30/01/2021 10:57

Sorry mean @Blessedbutstressed96 in my reply, new to Mumsnet & just getting the hang of it!

AdventuresAwait · 30/01/2021 11:10

Yes @Blessedbutstressed96, we had an early scan on Thursday when I was 8 weeks (thought I was 7+1 but measurements were clearly 8 weeks). Heard the heartbeat! I had been feeling quite anxious so it was reassuring and my husband was able to come with me, which was great.

H3llie · 30/01/2021 11:14

@GWhiteley it means weeks+days (I had to google it to check when I first started seeing it!) so 8 weeks 3 days 8+3 😊 I'm pretty new too!
