@mrandmrslobster I'm feeling exactly the same. I feel so miserable. Feeling sick a lot of the time has really effected me to the point when I wonder how so many people do this. I'm definitely in a hole and feeling so low

I sympathise. I don't have any sickness symptoms. Have had a few dodgy tummy moments but nothing else. I just feel so blue and stuck. Lockdown is very much contributing to these feelings.

AnitaB83 · 29/01/2021 15:01

Hi ladies, congratulations to all that had successful scans!:) I read your posts about your symptoms! I am sorry some of you are feeling so sick/rubbish. I do not have many symptoms (a bit larger boobs, some very sporadic and very light nausea, which I think it is in my head) :(

I am 7+1 and today I have an early scan in the evening and I am a bit scared. However, I have not bled or had intense abdominal pain, which makes me think that maybe I am just lucky. we will see

Can I ask you opinion about working out/exercise?? before getting pregnant I was doing elliptical 3 or 4 times a week. Now, I am still doing it but at lower intensity. Evidence suggests that moderate intensity exercise is beneficial but, what is considered moderate intensity?? so difficult to find agreement on this!

Kirky658 · 29/01/2021 16:32

Hey @anitab83 good luck for your scan tonight! I am a very keen runner and unfortunately haven't been able to keep up the same distance and intensity as just don't have the energy. Midwife said to me if you did it before you got pregnant, carry on, but take it easy if it gets too much x

Taybz · 29/01/2021 16:39

@mrandmrslobster @bluemagicalsky I'm also feeling the same way. I really hate to say it but I'm not enjoying being pregnant at the moment. I have constant nausea and extreme fatigue which lasts all day, I've totally lost my appetite and feel sick the minute I put anything in my mouth.
I'm pretty much bed bound and unproductive as a result. Don't get me wrong, I'm feeling very grateful for being pregnant but the rest is really making me feel down.

unicornpower · 29/01/2021 16:54

@AnitaB83 good luck tonight! Fingers crossed its all okay 👌

@Taybz I feel exactly the same, throwing up my yoghurt yesterday was the final straw, I tend to feel worse in the evening and I can feel it creeping in already, I dont really know where to put myself!

AdventuresAwait · 29/01/2021 19:19

@littleMissK, I'm 39 so also of 'advanced maternal age'!

All the best for your scan @AnitaB83!

What do they class as "advanced maternal age"?

Hopefulmummie · 29/01/2021 19:39

Is there anyone else that hasn't been eating properly? What are you taking to get nutrients into you?

I haven't been able to eat a proper meal in days and feel guilty. All I've had is pancakes and ice lollies lol

AdventuresAwait · 29/01/2021 19:50

@mrandmrslobster, I think they say 35 and over?

@Hopefulmummie, I am finding it hard to eat properly. I started off really motivated but struggling to eat good things. I'm taking Pregnacare vitamins but am going to really try to eat better.

Lola0309 · 29/01/2021 19:54

Hi everyone! I’m very new here - been recommended to mums net as I’m feeling a little bewildered by the world of pregnancy. This is my first one, I’m currently 7+1. Congratulations to everyone else on here, what an exciting and scary journey we’re on!

AdventuresAwait · 29/01/2021 19:57

@Lola0309, welcome and congratulations! My first too and I agree it is scary... not knowing what to expect but also exciting!

Hopefulmummie · 29/01/2021 19:59

@AdventuresAwait Im taking vitamins too and I do try to eat but everything is turning me atm.

I just need to find food I'm able to stomach

@Lola0309 welcome and congratulations x

Kirky658 · 29/01/2021 20:00

Heyyy @lola0309 welcome ❤️

I started off eating well, trying to eat more fruit and veg than I used to, but I'm eating every couple hours to keep the nausea at bay x

Lola0309 · 29/01/2021 20:07

Hi everyone. I’m trying to catch up on all the posts, can’t believe you’ve all been here for weeks already and only just found. I hope you don’t mind me jumping in. We haven’t told anyone yet so feeling a little isolated and I think my husband sick of me moaning about how sick I feel!!
We have booked a scan next week when we turn 8 weeks we’re so excited! Has anyone had a scan yet?
How is everyone doing? I feel sick as a pig but not thrown up. Husband having to make all meals as food prep makes me gag. Also just feel like lying on sofa all day every day and feel guilty for it!!
Had such sore boobs in the beginning but that’s backed off. What a whirlwind, feel like I’m so alert to every minimal change - driving myself mad! X

Hopefulmummie · 29/01/2021 20:23

@Lola0309 how far along were you when your found out? We haven't told anyone either its hard but want to make sure everything is OK 1st. I had ectopic pregnancy in June and miscarriage in December.
We had a scan today I'm 6+3 and we got to see baby's heartbeat. I've a private scan booked for 8 weeks and if everything OK we are going to tell immediate family. Are you planning on telling anyone after your scan?
I feel so sick too but only threw up a bit once this morning. Put off food big time i haven't been eating much x

AdventuresAwait · 29/01/2021 20:37

Hi @Lola0309, I had a scan yesterday. I was 8 weeks. It was great and we got to hear the heartbeat which was really reassuring.

I have nausea, sore boobs, aching lower back and am so so tired!

We have told our parents, siblings and close friends. Time seems to be passing slowly but we found out on 1st January so nearly 1 month has passed! Another to the 12 week mark.

I agree about being alert to every change! It really helps me to share and chat on here Smile.

Lola0309 · 29/01/2021 20:37

@Hopefulmummie so sorry to hear about your previous pregnancies, sending love your way.
I took a test the day I was due on so have known since 8th Jan! I don’t want to sound soppy but I was one of those people that had a weird feeling so I decided to take a test as couldn’t stand waiting for a late period as I was starting to feel hopeful!
How exciting about your scan, that must have been a lovely experience. We are going to tell our parents after the 8 week scan and then I think steadily tell close family and friends as we approach 12 week mark.
We’ve just been a bit nervy - sister in law had a miscarriage over Christmas which was devastating so we are also conscious of being sensitive to them too. Dad also has health complications and we were just so worried of telling people without having heard a heartbeat.
Oh no, hoping it passes off for you so you can get some food down you soon. Makes you feel worse not eating even when you aren’t pregnant! :-( x

Lola0309 · 29/01/2021 20:39

@AdventuresAwait I’m so glad to have found you all! I’m sorry if I talk too much, feel like I have nearly a months worth of chatter to get off my chest! Haha! Has anyone heard off midwife? I rang up straight away and they said they’d be back in touch for booking appointment and heard nothing. Might be too soon - my due date in theory is 16th sept.

AdventuresAwait · 29/01/2021 20:55

@Lola0309, I had a feeling I was pregnant too and my friend had a dream that I was, so we took a 6 day early test and it was positive (I then took one every day after until my period was due as I couldn't believe it!!).

Re. A midwife... I completed the self referral form but didn't hear back. Others on here encouraged me to call them and I did today. I'm glad I did (thanks all), because they called me back and I have a booking appointment for next week. They seemed surprised I hadn't been contacted. My appointment is by phone, they said it will be about an hour.

AdventuresAwait · 29/01/2021 20:56

Has anyone had their booking appointment already? Was it by phone?
Not sure what to expect.

Chica1990 · 29/01/2021 21:06

I got a call this week from the midwife for an appointment on Wednesday but it seems to be in person?

mrandmrslobster · 29/01/2021 21:09

@AdventuresAwait

Has anyone had their booking appointment already? Was it by phone? Not sure what to expect.

Mine is in 4 weeks on video call. Then scan 4 weeks after that. Feels a lifetime away!

AdventuresAwait · 29/01/2021 21:12

@Chica1990, thanks for your reply. I am not sure how a phone appointment will be but she said that's how they are doing them at the moment.

It's nice to have an appointment though!

dizzypixie · 29/01/2021 21:12

@Lola0309 yours posts cheered me up - I could have written them word for word! I think I experienced everything you did, even the weird feeling of being pregnant before my period, the isolation, and my husband preparing and clearing up all food (blergh) 😂 Nice to not feel so alone in this!
