Hey ladies,

Just thought it might be a nice idea for any of us first time mums just finding out to have a thread to chat on.

@AdventuresAwait congratulations on 8 weeks and also the scan going well 🎉

ChrAmbaby · 28/01/2021 16:37

@Taybz I would recommend small meals throughout the day. Same here, I seemed to have lost my appetite but then keep thinking of baby and eat.

AdventuresAwait · 28/01/2021 16:37

Thank you all!

I will call, thanks @ChrAmbaby.

@unicornpower, I thought I was 7+1 today as I have a long cycle. But my last period was 3rd December so 8 weeks today and the measurement said 8 weeks!

Kirky658 · 28/01/2021 16:45

@fi2612 was it definitely a proper period you had in December? Not an implantation type bleed possibly? My mum when she was pregnant with me went for her 12 weeks scan she was actually 15 weeks as she had been having what she thought were periods! Amazing scan BTW ❤️

@chrambaby haha I had mcdonald's the other day for lunch, someone told me eat what you fancy.. Mom taking pregnacare 😊

Kirky658 · 28/01/2021 16:45

That should say I'm taking pregnacare, not mom, can I blame baby brain already? Lol

I feel that I can’t properly remember now, apart from it being 3 days.
I’ve emailed the midwife, so hopefully I’ll get some advice from them soon. My husband is allowed to come to a nhs scan, so I hope I’m offered one earlier than the 4 weeks I would be expecting.

I can’t stop looking at the scan and videos, it’s not felt real until now.

Bubbles1st · 28/01/2021 16:52

@Fi2612 oh wow how exciting to be further along! Was what you thought was your last period on time?

My December period was 5 days early.... but so far when I spoke to the midwife office they dismissed it as possible implantation bleeding and said they go from last day of last bleed.

That would put me up there with you and not at 7+3.

When did you find out you were pregnant? Can you believe you were pregnant that much longer without realising?

Make me really think I should have a dating scan.

Kirky658 · 28/01/2021 17:00

@fi2612 so exciting. My mum said hers in hindsight were shorter and not painful bleeds so could well have been one of those things!

I have my scan next week and I think I would be 7+5 this time next week. Time will tell I suppose 🤣

CherylLW · 28/01/2021 17:05

Hey @AdventuresAwait so happy for you!! Mine took 2 days off the waiting time but I was relieved!

I had my booking appointment at about 6-7 weeks and my bloods were booked for week after. I had to reschedule as I was isolating but I would probably give them a call if I were you. X

My last period was 2nd December on the day I expected it. The one before that was 5th November. I’m always very regular (although I’ve just come off the pill)

I found out I was pregnant on 27th December, which was 3 days before my expected next period. I was feeling so sick the week before, but I thought I was stressed. Thankfully we were trying, so I was taking folic acid but I was drinking alcohol in December.

It’s so exciting but crazy that I’m not sure if I’ve got an August or September baby just now.

dizzypixie · 28/01/2021 17:27

Haha @Kirky658 i also had a maccy Ds the other day for the first time in about two years. The only food that didn’t make me feel sick was chicken nuggets so I thought f-it! Paid more for the delivery than the nuggets, but was the first food I vaguely enjoyed in two weeks!
@Taybz - I know what you mean, I have to force the porridge down, and I never finish it. But even a bit makes me feel better

dizzypixie · 28/01/2021 17:28

@Brightspark12 lucky you, I hope it stays that way! Mine kicked in at about 7.5 weeks, so enjoy this moment!

Kirky658 · 28/01/2021 17:32

@brightspark12 long may those feelings of being OK continue for you, I wasn't too bad at 5 weeks, aside from sore boobs, got to just before 6 weeks and bam, nausea started, shooting pains in boobs, backache... And feeling like I've been hit by a bus I'm so tired x

Taybz · 28/01/2021 18:24

Girls, random question but what types of bras are you wearing? My girls have ballooned in size and even a t-shirt bra is not very comfortable! Any recommendations?

Mamamccarts · 28/01/2021 18:25

TMI...but Does anyones bowel movements how from extreme to the next, between that and wind I can't cope lol Confused

bigsweetpotato · 28/01/2021 18:45

@Mamamccarts I hear you ... I used to be regular on the dot everyday and now I'm either super constipated or the other way 😭

Bubbles1st · 28/01/2021 19:09

@Taybz I'm simply not. I can't face it. I'm just wearing a snug vest. So happy to hear other recommendations but I don't want to buy a new bra if they are just going to get bigger!

Kirky658 · 28/01/2021 19:09

@mamamccarts yep one day I'm blocked up the next... You get it. Bloated and full of wind both ends too.. How glamorous!

@taybz I was a 34b before pregnancy I don't know what size they are now but they fit my bras perfectly lol, but normal supportive underwire bras seem to help me. Or my sports bras lol

RadDarwazeh · 28/01/2021 19:11

@Taybz I'm wearing Primark wireless bralettes and just got a maternity bra, haven't tried it yet though. Will update when I do! Can't stand wires right now and I'm only 5 weeks!

Poppysmile · 28/01/2021 19:19

Hi guys what’s the earliest anyone has gone for a reassurance scan?, my app tells me I’m 6+4 days so I was going for a scan on Sunday but I’m worried I might actually only be going on to week 6, and I don’t want to go if it’s to early because I’ll worry if I don’t hear or see anything x

BettyRem · 28/01/2021 19:22

@Taybz I've had to ditch all my Bras they were killing me, I've bought a maternity one and it's so bloody comfy, I think the brand is hot milk lingerie. I never spend money on bras but thought it was well worth it to feel comfortable
@Mamamccarts yep mine are changing every day 🙈very gassy too. Those are the only symptoms I've had so far but I'm only 5weeks today so I'm sure I'll pick up more as time goes on

RadDarwazeh · 28/01/2021 19:40

@BettyRem which hotmilk one did you buy?

BettyRem · 28/01/2021 20:20

@RadDarwazeh the my necessity one, I'll definitely be buying more

RadDarwazeh · 28/01/2021 20:27

@BettyRem thanks Hun they look really good

Kirky658 · 28/01/2021 20:29

@poppysmile you should be able to go at 6 weeks but window to the womb told me to go after 7 weeks I'm case my dates were slightly wrong x
