@bluemagicalsky ours have just changed the rules too so hubby can come too, really happy x

ChrAmbaby · 27/01/2021 13:14

@Brightspark12 even I am wondering the same, do I need an early scan. Was planning to wait until week 12 and have the NHS scheduled one. Would be great to hear from other expecting mommies here how their scan went, what did they see, hear and even feel. I can barely feel the baby but am conscious it's very early on the journey...

AdventuresAwait · 27/01/2021 13:18

Hi @bluemagicalsky, it is great that partners are allowed at your scan! I hope ours allow them too. I'm still waiting to hear about my first appointment or blood test. I'm 7 weeks today.

ChrAmbaby · 27/01/2021 13:19

@CherylLW thanks - I was wondering if I was getting this right as 8 weeks seems like a long wait coz I guess we found out at 4 and besides the CB test, haven't had any other confirmation but I guess just got to wait and see.

ChrAmbaby · 27/01/2021 13:21

@bluemagicalsky that is so good for you... lucky that you can have your DH there. I am praying they let me have my DH with me atleast at my scans as it is such a special time for the both of us and I really want him to be involved at every stage.

AdventuresAwait · 27/01/2021 13:24

@CherylLW, thank you so much for asking! Yes, my scan is tomorrow! I am 7 weeks today and wanted to wait until next week but really need the reassurance.

All the best for this afternoon!

Bubbles1st · 27/01/2021 14:50

I'm so excited to start seeing all your early scans for those of you willing to share. I have everything crossed everyone has a healthy and happy outcome.

My DP still isn't interested in one and says just because it's reassuring now doesn't mean something bad can't happen. Which I know is true and having no personal experience of loss I feel lucky that I don't have a real to be to anxious and to try and remain cautiously excited until 12 weeks.

My symptoms are still quite minimal which I am pleased about but my goodness the main one is good aversion. I'm fine one minute that I try and think about what I want to eat and if I'm not careful I then feel nauseous. I thinking shopping is going to be a nightmare the next few months if I never now what i fancy!

Flower95 · 27/01/2021 15:27

It's hard to write this as I sound so selfish and I know how many people would love to be in my position. I'm just having second thoughts about the whole pregnancy, it wasn't planned, it just happened. My husband had COVID in October and is severely depressed and for the past few months I've been his rock. I'm worried that I'm not going to be there for him as I've got to look after myself giving the circumstances. I'm also doubting myself if this is what I actually want in life. Do I want kids? I don't know. I'm 29 years old and I'm unsure what I want in life. I feel like I sound so selfish. We both have jobs, have a mortgage, have jobs and savings behind us but both of us don't feel ready. Of course my husbands feelings worse because of having long COVID. I don't know what to do. The thought of an abortion makes me so scared, what if I regret it, what if it ruins our marriage. Sorry to be negative as everyone seems to be happy.

Kirky658 · 27/01/2021 15:33

@flower95 it's totally OK to not be 100% happy about it particularly if it wasn't planned. For us we've always wanted children, having endometriosis we didn't think it would happen naturally and we've gone through a lot to get here. How does your husband feel? Only you both can make the decision and you have to do what you feel is right. No judgement here. Xx

Kirky658 · 27/01/2021 15:35

@bubbles1st I will be happy to share mine next week if there is anything to see lol.. I know what your hubby means, for me and mine we've said well if there's a heartbeat and then we would be almost 8 weeks it's a very good sign - I read the chances of mmc drop significantly once a heartbeat is seen but I know it doesn't mean we would be safe.

I'm also feeling nauseous, not had any aversion per se but I can't stand the smell of coffee it's making me gag. I seem to keep craving cheese and warm milk!!

MrsMcNtobe · 27/01/2021 15:47

@ChrAmbaby that sounds right, I called midwife at 3+5 and was told to call at 6 and then given my nurse appointment for 8+3 which is 10 feb and my scan for 9 March... they don’t really seem too concerned about seeing you earlier which stressed me out 😂

CherylLW · 27/01/2021 16:38

@unicornpower @MrsMcNtobe @AdventuresAwait

I had my scan, I was so so nervous I don’t think I was even breathing!!

Everything is perfect tho and I couldn’t be happier!! I thought I was 8+3 and it measures at 8+5 with a strong little heartbeat!

I feel I can relax for a little while now 😍

Window to the womb were amazing and so understanding how I would be nervous.

Good luck with everyone’s scans ❤️

Jay3004 · 27/01/2021 16:38

@ChrAmbaby I’ve got my midwife appointment on the 11th too which will also be exactly 8 weeks for me as well! I’m also struggling with sleep. I’m out like a light when I go to bed but if I wake up during the night I can’t get back to sleep. I’ve been up since 2.30am today!

bluemagicalsky · 27/01/2021 16:40

Everything crossed for you both @AdventuresAwait @ChrAmbaby Hopefully you'll hear soon
Fantastic news @Kirky658 It's such a relief isn't it.
Nausea is really getting to me at the moment, so feeling a bit down

@Flower95 I really feel for you. This is not an easy decision at all. Maybe to start, you could have a sit down with your DH and discuss whether you both see children in your future. Whatever decision you come to together is the right decision

MrsMcNtobe · 27/01/2021 16:43

@CherylLW omg amazing I’m so happy for you! Did they do it internally? I’ve just had a shower and I’m sitting ready and waiting to go... 2 hours 45 mins early 🤣

Kirky658 · 27/01/2021 16:46

@jay3004 I am the exact same the night time insomnia is no joke!

@cheryllw that's fantastic news how wonderful ❤️ glad all is good.

@mrsmcntobe I bet you're dead excited aren't you! My appt next week is at 5:45pm so gotta sneak off from work hehe... First of many times I'll be doing that I'm sure!

unicornpower · 27/01/2021 16:47

@CherylLW oh love thats so wonderful! Im so so happy for you! I bet you feel like celebrating now right? Over the moon for you!

@MrsMcNtobe oh not long to go! I will be waiting with bated breath for your update. I can feel it'll be good news for you, just stay nice and calm xx

Bubbles1st · 27/01/2021 16:50

@CherylLW yay, so pleased 😀

Jay3004 · 27/01/2021 16:51

@Kirky658 it’s awful isn’t it! I don’t think I’ve slept past 4am in 2 weeks. Luckily I’m working from home so I can usually fit a nap in in the afternoon. I don’t know how I’d cope if I was having to go out to work.

Kirky658 · 27/01/2021 17:04

@jay3004 same here luckily just had a cheeky hours nap just now! I usually nap in the afternoon, nap from 8pm for an hour then off to bed and wide awake. I've tried to stay awake at night before bed but I can't lol x

Jay3004 · 27/01/2021 17:07

@Kirky658 haha I’m the same! Tried staying up later but I still wake up so then I’m getting even less sleep. Had a teleconference at 3pm today which is my usual nap time so I’ll probably be in bed straight after tea tonight lol xx

Kirky658 · 27/01/2021 17:11

@jay3004 about the same naptime as me lol how far along are you? I'm 6+3 today. Yesterday my work bestie guessed I was pregnant as I looked dead pale, she knew we had been trying but she said she could tell by my face lol!

ChrAmbaby · 27/01/2021 17:16

@Jay3004 hey... so cool - we're appt buddies too now... so exciting.. can't wait to go for this appt a) for a professional to confirm that I am pregnant and b) to know that all is well with the baby... I know they won't be able to tell much from bloods but still I think I will feel more at peace knowing that I have atleast seen a midwife... everything is so new to me that just never know what to expect and what to not.

ChrAmbaby · 27/01/2021 17:17

@MrsMcNtobe ok that gives me a lill comfort, thank you!

CherylLW · 27/01/2021 17:18

Thank you so much everyone, I feel like a weight has been lifted for now! I know it’s not safe yet but nice to feel a little reassurance.

@MrsMcNtobe yeh it was internal, I went with a full bladder but then said it would be internal but I think it’s to do with you giving consent when you arrive etc.

I’ll keep everything crossed for you x keep us dated x
