@Taybz

Hey everyone! Congrats to all the new BFPs! The nausea is now absolutely killing me and I'm only 5+6! How's everyone dealing with it? Also, feel shattered all the time. It's my first and I'm sooo excited but can't wait until these symptoms subside.

I'm finding I'm too lethargic to get out and go for a walk. But I force myself and my god I feel a million times better when I do. I'm working from home and it's not the same as actually being in work. I have less to do and my mind isn't as occupied as it usually is. So I fall quite easily into a sort of lethargic malaise if I'm not careful.

Getting wrapped up warm and out into the cold for a walk for at least an hour is the best thing for me. That and a nice shower/bath.

unicornpower · 24/01/2021 17:56

@Taybz im so sorry you're feeling sick but honestly I'm so glad its not just me. I am finding the nausea so so bad and im only 5+4. I cant keep water down so am drinking ginger ale at the moment as im pretty dehydrated i think, I can only eat bread and hula hoops and honestly I lost the plot earlier and just cried as I felt so poorly! I feel your pain i really do! I know its lame but I really just want my mum 🤣

hippinghen · 24/01/2021 18:11

@Taybz oh no when did the nausea start? I feel I have got off lightly so far on this symptom and expecting it to start....😱

Taybz · 24/01/2021 18:29

@mrandmrslobster I'll start taking walks if it helps despite the cold!

@unicornpower gosh you're describing me to the T. I've lost my appetite and have also been tearful because of the nausea. I keep telling myself though, 'this is your dream and it's all worth it' I just want to fast forward to whenever the nausea stops. Does the ginger ale help much?

@hippinghen it started properly bang on 5 weeks. It comes in waves and comes with dizzy spells as well. Really don't mean to complain but it's bloody killing me and any productivity! 😃

hippinghen · 24/01/2021 18:35

@Taybz eeek I'm 3 days away from 5 weeks so will let you know. I agree with the walking too - today was feeling a bit rubbish abs just took a 25 min walk then had a shower and felt much better xx

showmorekindness · 24/01/2021 18:45

@Taybz @unicornpower ice lollies were my best friends for nausea last time. Not the best for nutrition but if you need some short term relief I found they worked. My friend also sent me some lollipops called Preggie Pops - they didn't really work for me but worth a try.

Chica1990 · 24/01/2021 19:01

@unicornpower I find I’m feel sicky when I am hungry more than anything and if it goes on for too long then I can’t actually eat anything and it’s worse, vicious cycle.

I’m trying to eat every half hour to stop the feeling, celery, Red Leicester with crackers, cucumber, melon, gf hob nobs, anything I can get my hands on.

I’ve also got a bottle of coke in the fridge and have a small glass with ice when I get to a bad point if I’ve forgotten to snack! Hope this helps. I have a phobia of being sick so doing whatever I can to avoid it.

Olinguita · 24/01/2021 19:17

I'm finding anything containing ginger (hot water with ginger/lemon/honey, ginger ale, ginger biscuits) is really helping with the nausea right now. I feel like I've got the worst hangover of my life even though I've not touched a drop of booze!

Ahoynoy · 24/01/2021 19:38

Diarolyte frozen into ice cubes is great if you think you’re getting dehydrated but don’t want to drink it... Bear in mind dehydration makes nausea and vomiting worse and it’s a vicious cycle!

I’m 5 weeks and have had really bad nausea now for a few days- really really early, but I have migraines, travel sickness and family history which all increase it 🤢. I use sachets called vidrate for electrolytes generally due to other medical stuff and they aren’t too sweet. I get them online sent monthly.

Also ritz breaks are crackers in little packs that you can take out with you- I need to nibble first thing In the morning and it helps stop it just getting worse and worse- I am literally carrying crackers round the house with me... I’ve lost 3 pounds in the last week 🤢 and barely been sick just very very nauseous.

I have anti sickness too (from before pregnancy but gp says I can still take them) but try to take them only when I absolutely have to. There are safe in pregnancy options and it’s better to take them than be getting dehydrated ❤️

Simmy20 · 24/01/2021 20:06

Hi, I hope it's ok to join. I got my bfp last week and am 4+5 due on 29 Sep (I think! I have a short cycle and get really confused as it sometimes still pushes the date out as if it was a normal cycle). I'm trying for my first but had 2 mc last year. Here's hoping it's 3rd time lucky.

I've been so nauseous already and so fatigued. I was sick last night after eating pizza so looks like baby does like pizza. My boobs are also starting to get a bit achy. I'm also so emotional. I cry at nothing. I feel it's so early to have so many symptoms already. My first I did pretty early as well and the second symptoms were on and off.

unicornpower · 24/01/2021 20:08

@Taybz I am with you! Its so debilitating isnt it, everything I've eaten today I've brought back up and its just exhausting, my back is killing me! It did help me drink but then it all came back up. It did make me feel better initially though 🤣

@chica1990 I've tried to do the same but its not working, I thought id got on top of it but my body doesn't want a thing today and its so frustrating lol diet coke has been helping a bit, just for something fizzy really. I managed a few chips for tea but that was it, so far they have stayed down so we shall see! Thank you for the ideas though, are you feeling okay with eating every half an hour?

@Olinguita I agree with the hangover! I feel like I've been hit by a train! I am so grateful but I am struggling now 😪

unicornpower · 24/01/2021 20:09

@showmorekindness ice lollies are now on the shopping list for tomorrow! Thanks for the tip xxx

Bubbles1st · 24/01/2021 20:11

I don't envy you all being sick.
I get a bit nauseous if I'm hungry but if I eat it goes. However I am having some food aversions of things I would usually really enjoy.

Tomatoes and minced beef mainly.

I'm 7 weeks tomorrow's. so wondering how long I can get away with it for!

Tallybeebloom · 24/01/2021 20:40

Hey, can I join? I'm 5+2. Found out this week but haven't told my DP yet as he's working away and isn't back until next weekend. I didn't know if I should tell him on the phone or wait til he's back but have decided to wait. Kind of unplanned pregnancy as I believed I couldn't have kids naturally and was going through fertility testing after having tried for years with my EXH and it never happening. Came off the pill in May to try to prepare my body for what i thought would eventually be IVF but missed my period this month and did a test and was actually crying and shaking from the shock of seeing a positive!

I'm very nervous about it sticking though. Don't have many symptoms except initially had some very mild cramping which has stopped and sometimes quite fatigued. My boobs have grown but aren't sore and i can't work out if I'm gassy or just letting loose more cos DP isn't around and I'm on my own! Grin

Wait til he's home to tell him. I had to do the same. Luckily it was only one night's wait. Barely slept a wink!

mrandmrslobster · 24/01/2021 20:44

@Tallybeebloom

And congrats also!! 🥳

strangerontheinternet · 24/01/2021 20:53

@Tallybeebloom congrats! My partner left on 10th for 4 weeks. I found out on Tuesday at 3+5wks. I wasn't expecting it to happen this month at all (then kinda ruled out feb too with ov probably being before he was home). For ages I've planned in my head how I'd tell him if I ever was and I always thought we'd be at home together. I contemplated waiting but I couldn't and FaceTimed him with about 2 mins so I don't know how you're doing it! If it had been a day I might have tried to but I also felt bad keeping it from him for like 3 weeks. It is hard them being away cause then I'm freaking out like is he not happy/excited cause I can't see him to tell

RadDarwazeh · 24/01/2021 21:05

Congrats everyone on the bfps. I'm about 4.5 weeks girls, maybe my nausea is yet to begin? But I am eating normally and listening to what my body wants and just having it. I got some caffeine free coke, I can't give up my fizzy sodas! And some dry crackers for if and when the nausea hits. I'll get some mini ice lollies too in preparation thanks for the potential nausea.

I still have to work as a key worker. Was incredibly stressed driving in the snow. Had to help push cars today which can't be good for the tiny one growing in me. But we carry on I suppose!

Taybz · 24/01/2021 21:43

@Tallybeebloom congrats! That's amazing! It's as if just when we give up, magic happens!

@Bubbles1st 7wks already?! Lucky you! Closer to that 12wk marks yay!

@RadDarwazeh be careful not to do any strenuous activities. Are you in healthcare? Just thinking about the COVID situation as well.

Girls, Re. Telling your partner - I wouldn't last 10 minutes without telling my partner. He knew as soon as I found out and besides he had to stop me from fainting with shock 😆

Taybz · 24/01/2021 21:44

Great tips for the nausea girls! Keep 'em coming- I'm making a list! We can do this! 💪

Simmy20 · 24/01/2021 21:57

First time DH was away and was due home in a few days but I couldn't wait. I called him straight away. Initially he wasn't impressed as it was so early in the morning and he is not a morning person but he was ok with it when I told him the reason for the call. The next 2 times he has been here thankfully. I really didn't think it would happen this month. It was 7 months between first mc and next bfp so I thought it would be a big wait again. Only 2 months this time so was so happy to see the bfp. @Tallybeebloom you are strong for waiting but it will be so worth it to see his face especially with your history. That's so exciting.

@Bubbles1st you're lucky not being sick. You might be one of those lucky few that don't get sick. I'm a bit envious.

Bubbles1st · 24/01/2021 21:59

@Simmy20 @Taybz
I know found out two weeks ago and it has almost gone quick looking back.

Like someone else said I think if I had the symptoms I would be more reassured though.

Just remembering my affirmations and I'm
Manifesting for a happy and healthy pregnancy so maybe it's just that.

You will be the first to know if it changes 🤣

RadDarwazeh · 24/01/2021 22:15

Yea absolutely manifesting lovely things for us all to come. I can't help but make an Amazon list and browse mamas and papas. Oops.

I am in healthcare and in full PPE. Currently doing four days a week. Thanks for the support ladies I will be careful

Tallybeebloom · 25/01/2021 00:07

Thanks for the congrats! I actually ended up telling him on the phone tonight! He facetimed me when I was eating an ice lolly and then noticed that my breasts are way bigger and made a joke about me being pregnant so there was no way I couldn't tell him. He was very shocked and but very happy! Weirdly he said the last few nights he's been having dreams about me having a baby.

Hopefulmummie · 25/01/2021 06:09

So I'm extremely worried... Last night I pains on my left side (same side as my previous ectopic) and this motning I've woke up to some blood when I wiped. Wasn't alot and was dark in colour. I've convinced myself that this could be another ectopic :(
