I also haven't weighed myself but I'm pretty sure I'm pretty close to pre-pregnancy body (except those BF boobs!). My bigger concern right now is actually how to keep weight on since I'm finding it hard to eat enough the restricted diet I'm eating because of LO's allergies Confused

Also, in terms of exercise - is anyone else starting to feel like the 24/7 baby carrying is giving them a real arm workout?! I swear that little chunk is getting heavier by the day!

peachypetite · 10/03/2021 19:28

My boobs have gone down thank god, they were huge, but I think my milk has dried up now and I can definitely see a difference. I eat healthily and cook from scratch but I’ve been eating a fair bit of cake and biscuits! I am hoping my appetite will decrease now because I was absolutely starving when I was breastfeeding!

Do any of you have anything planned for Sunday? I get the feeling my husband thinks it’s hallmark crap but we always made a fuss of my mum growing up on Mother’s Day and I would like the same. Not sure whether to explain this to him so I don’t end up sad on Sunday. He’s a fantastic dad and husband in every other way!

Pinktruffle · 10/03/2021 23:53

@Yellowbeansontoast yep, I have quipped many times about how muscley my arms are getting. My LO is growing so fast, he literally grows out of clothes in days it seems!

@peachypetite honestly, I would just mention to him in passing if he has planned anything for Sunday and if not, you have a couple ideas. That should hopefully send him the message that you want to mark it in some way - it is our first mothers days after all! I've asked my DH not to get a gift as I would like an eternity ring for my birthday and I'd rather he put the money towards that - but I want a card to mark the occasion so have asked for that. Due to lockdown meaning there are limited options, if the weather is nice we are planning to drive somewhere nice to go for a walk and then a fancy takeaway in the evening.

Hi mamas, glad to hear everyone is feeling a bit better on the whole than last time I logged on- if is tough this motherhood! But also amazing :)

Just wondering if anyone thinks my LO could be teething... could also be 4th leap I’m aware... she has been increasingly grizzly last 2 weeks and has started waking every 90 mins or so through the night again after only waking once between 8pm and 7am!! Man the regression is hard. Milk used to settle her but now she is still flailing arms and gurning after bottles. She has her fist in her moth all the time and yesterday was biting down on my elbow (I know random) and also does this with soft toys etc.

Just know I fed her and she was still wide awake so I gently started pressing her lower him with my finger and it was like an off switch and she went straight to sleep...

Any tips on how to deal? Any good tools or toys for teething that anyone can recommend or any other ideas?

Hope you’re all well and babies too XX

So we have a sitter! My son sat up unaided today for the first time. I was quite surprised as he's not even 4 months yet, plus he is showing no signs of rolling but just goes to show they do their own things in their own time.

Snowwhite2020 · 11/03/2021 12:50

*Pressing lower gum with my finger

Snowwhite2020 · 11/03/2021 12:51

@Pinktruffle same here- magic isn’t it! :)

Kj1010 · 11/03/2021 12:56

Hiya all well had health visitor round a bit of a waste tbh they came in weighed lo asked if he eating sleeping well then basically left felt very rushed and I didnt feel like I had the opportunity to ask a few questions oh well I give up with the health professionals now but at least I know my scales are correct as they said he weighs 14lb 6 and mine said the same

Yellowbeansontoast · 12/03/2021 06:48

So my baby finally slept the night...after drinking over 35oz in the day yesterday GrinGrin

Jwl45 · 12/03/2021 08:37

@Yellowbeansontoast amazing!! Bet you feel fab! @Pinktruffle aw that's amazing. They definitely do their own thing at their own pace! We have had the last of the immunisations for now. Thankfully. We are now 14lb 4 and half ... 5 feeds a day. Although yesterday, she only had 4 .... so I thought I'd be up all night feeding, but no, she slept through until half 5. I breast fed this morning.... kind of aware it could be the last time as she's not so fussed and the HV told me if she's not so fussed for night feed (I know that's very early morning lol) , she told me to go with it and not to worry about feeding. (We are bottle in day as she's much more satisfied!)
Yesterday she didn't have a feed until 9.30 am. Her last was 10 pm the night before. As long as she's happy, I'm happy. And she's such a happy smiley baby. She's currently sat un her bouncer watching Fireman Sam!! She loves it... whether it's the voices and noise or colours.... I don't know. I will be honest, we are not usually up until gone 9 lol . This is weird 🤣

Pinktruffle · 12/03/2021 10:57

Mine has been a nightmare for going to sleep for the past few days. I could have cried last night! I put him down at 9, he slept 40 mins and then was up and didn't go back down till 12.30. He did then sleep till 7am, had a feed, played for a bit and went back to sleep at 8, he is still sleeping now.

We had some hysterics in the evening though, DH had a repeat of Great British Bake Off on the TV, we don't usually face him to the TV but he was being whiny so I sat him up and let him watch a bit and he was in hysterics. One contestant in particular, whenever they were on the screen, he found their face just hilariously funny! The TV was on mute (I cant remember why) so it wasn't even the sounds making him laugh. It was so cute!

kkr168 · 13/03/2021 08:47

My lo slept through last night, I gave him a feed at midnight & he's still asleep now, although starting to stir.
Typically I still woke at 4am, when he'd usually have a feed!!
He's also upped his milk intake this week, having roughly 25oz now. It was only a couple of weeks ago I was really worried that he wasn't drinking enough, after dropping to 14oz in the week following his jabs. I'm hoping his 3rd set of jabs don't have the same effect!

kkr168 · 13/03/2021 08:49

@Pinktruffle I have a video of Tommy smiling & laughing along to Peppa pig, shame we can't post them on here. It was super cute but also scary how much he was attracted to the TV, he seems to young.

Anotherboy · 14/03/2021 09:30

Happy mother's day everyone!!!

Amyyy1 · 14/03/2021 12:32

Happy Mother's Day everyone! Hope you all have lovely peaceful days X

Snowwhite2020 · 14/03/2021 13:16

Happy Mother’s Day everyone! Hope you’re getting more sleep than me- sounds like a lot of you are. We’re in the throes of the 4 month sleep regression and my GOD it sucks.

Kj1010 · 14/03/2021 13:56

Happy mothers day ladies my lo has changed his sleep pattern now wakes at 2am then 5am instead of the normal 11pm and 5am it's a killer

MLAC2021 · 14/03/2021 16:06

Happy Mother's Day to you all x

Kj1010 · 15/03/2021 11:34

Morning all can I ask how you are feeling in general like do u feel ur body is back to normal etc so since I had my lo and re started my periods I've had 2 I get pain either side of womb I take it it's from where i had sterilization also get tenderness where scar is but inside and last week around the end i started feeling funny like my body was dizzy uno like wen u have a to hot bath and feel dizzy weak etc I was googling as I'm a big worrier especially about getting cancer and from what I gather it seems it could be to do with my iron levels being low etc and that they recommend you carry on taking your vitamins for 3 months after child birth which I didnt know so I have started taking my iron pills again which did help yesterday I also drank water as I dont drink water at all really just wondering what you are all feeling

Kj1010 · 15/03/2021 11:36

Also think I might be pushing my body a bit much I've been doing a lot of walking aswell I just dont like this feeling but am also to scared to call doctors as I'm so afraid of something being seriously wrong with me

Jellycat2020 · 15/03/2021 19:56

Sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish @Kj1010 but if you think something isn't right, it's definitely worth speaking to the doctor. On the very small off chance there is something seriously wrong, it's only going to make it worse by not speaking to them. Chances are it's just your body healing. I'm still struggling physically having had 4 courses of antibiotics for my episiotomy and I now have a small bleeding growth on it inside that may need treatment or removal 😣. I generally feel OK, other than the pain down below. I also get an aching sort of pain in the lower abdomen if I run a few steps or jump, so not doing that! Was really hoping I'd be back running properly by now 😭

Kj1010 · 15/03/2021 20:57

@Jellycat2020 ty I actually feel a lit better now I'm taking iron pills and drinking more water the dizziness has gone from my body but I will be keeping a eye on it and if it keeps happening or I just dont feel right I will brave it I will have to I keep forgetting that it's only 3 months an it does take time for our bodies to go back and I think where I'm a older mum to probably take even longer

MaverickDanger · 15/03/2021 21:00

Hope you all had a lovely Mother’s Day!

I’m really loving being a mum. We’re so lucky that we have a good sleeper & breastfeeding is still going well - although we’ve only tried it once outside so I might feel differently about it!

He is only 11 weeks though so probably the youngest on here...we’ve got the sleep regression to come!

Just can’t wait to take him to classes, we’re both bored of walks. We do yoga once a week & a couple of recorded classes but I don’t have the motivation.

Although god knows how I’ll be able to get us out on time & then the feeding in public situation!

Hi, hope everyone and their babies are doing well. I feel like this thread is naturally slowing down as we all settle into life with our little ones and that when it fills up soon there is a chance that many of us may not follow the new thread. So before that happens, I just wanted to say that personally I have found this thread a huge support throughout my pregnancy and the first few months of being a Mum and wanted to thank you all for being so supportive and offering advice when I really needed it. I found it a huge comfort to know in the really challenging times that I was not alone! I wish everyone all the best for the future with your beautiful babies and hope you all enjoy every minute of nurturing them into the little people they will become. Thanks all and take care xx

Kj1010 · 16/03/2021 17:29

@naomiB79 yes I was thinking that tbh its slowing down quite a bit I also have found this group to be very helpful in every way I hope it doesnt completely disappear though as it is a great forum for everything but if it does I also wish all you ladies the very best with your babies and families xx
