Is around who's due in April 2021? How are you feeling?

I was in a thread on here in early pregnancy, dropped off when I joined the buddies Facebook group, I'm still in it but its not really for me.... I miss having a place to go to chat pregnancy though.

OP posts:

I hope that muddled text made sense!

@1sttimemumtobe2021 Im midwife led ☺️ they have only weighed me at the booking in appointment and I was wearing boots and a denim jacket 🙈 I acctually had a growth scan at 34w and another booked in for 38w due to bump growth plateau on growth chart. I've been weighing myself naked every Sunday 🤣 one week I was ill and lost weight, then last week I've stayed the same, gained 8-9kg ish so far.
I do get the small bump comments, except my mam said my bum has grown 😆
At the growth scan baby estimated weight was 5lbs1, on the 90th centile! So he is definitely growing well. He is just very compacted! 😆 I did have strong abs pre pregnancy and kept up a lot of my gym stuff, so I do think my muscles are refusing to let my belly pop. Lower BMI for me is due ti training for an Ironman pre pregnancy, not had any eating disorders or anything, maybe if that was the case or urine samples had ketones they would switch to consultant led 🤷🏼‍♀️

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 10/03/2021 17:39

Thanks @blodyn91 , sounds like nothing to be concerned about then as I'm not missing out on extra scans (as your reason was a bit different). Wow I am envious of your fitness regime pre pregnancy!

I did some running but nowhere near to that extent! I think my bmi just runs in my family to be honest. I'm the same clothes size as my mum, similar weight. My bump took a while to pop but it's definitely there now and baby is just a bit higher than 50th percentile.

Good that they could monitor via urine samples potentially then. I've only recently had traces of protein show up but they didn't seem overly concerned. I didn't have ketones with the HG which I've heard can show up. But I lost around 9% body weight at the beginning - eek! I was getting comments because I'd lost weight before 12 weeks so work didn't know and I was being asked whether I was eating well enough by colleagues on the occasional days I went in when lockdown was eased! Little did they know I was pregnant and puking around 6 times a day, so was getting pretty worried!

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 11/03/2021 14:01

Had my growth scan today, baby girl measuring in line with the 80th centile! 5lb 6oz. Bit of a shock as my first was born on the 25th centile. I'm told they can't really estimate birth weight yet as I'm only 33weeks, but it's looking like she'll be bigger than her sister.

Hope everyone is ok today.

Catlady21 · 11/03/2021 14:50

I've had my 36 week growth scan and they've estimated baby to be 6lb... so 8lb full term. I don't take it as gospel as they were wrong with my other two but it's still nice to hear they are growing well.

SunnySideUp2020 · 11/03/2021 15:39

Anyone started drinking raspberry leaf tea??

blodyn91 · 11/03/2021 16:12

Im not planning on doing any of the drinking/eating to get things moving.....until I reach 40w I'll be on here asking for all the tips. 🤣
@1sttimemumtobe2021 god you had a rough time with sickness!! tbf Ive had a different midwife at every appointment, if I had the same one I bet I wouldn't be getting growth scans, they all measure slightly different.

rainbow95 · 11/03/2021 16:15

Hi everyone, our baby is due 13th April 😊. Has anyone bought a pram suit? I'm not sure whether to buy one or not. It's difficult to say what the weather will be like in April.

flappityflippers1 · 11/03/2021 17:25

@rainbow95 I've got a cosytoes thing to use in mine if needed, but I'm not expecting to use it (it's more for this autumn/winter really, just convenient it also works with the carrycot as well as seat unit!)

My first was a November baby and I didn't use a pramsuit until late December-January. He had a super thick and snuggly cardigan for the pram, plus hat, gloves and blankets.

I have got a car seat wrap which I'll use for bringing him home, but expect I'll take it out quite quickly (thick coats and snowsuits aren't safe in car seats, just in case that's not come up yet!) (you also don't need a car seat wrap, a blanket works perfectly well!)

SunnySideUp2020 · 11/03/2021 18:37

@rainbow95

I have a snow suit. But i don't live in the UK, here it is still snowing. Due 3rd april...
I got it on sale from Gap so thought id get it for the first weeks

LuckyFlash · 11/03/2021 18:57

I’ve not got a pram suit. I have a sheepskin liner for the pram and am hoping layers and blankets will be fine by April.

Has anyone else felt the baby drop down? My belly is still high but in the last week I’ve been getting loads of jabs and hiccups right in my pelvis - it almost feels like he’s in the top of my legs! Also feeling a lot of pressure ‘down there’. Hoping it’s just because he’s got his head into a good position but it’s very uncomfortable!

flappityflippers1 · 11/03/2021 19:15

Mine is breech atm, so I'm getting head bashing my ribs, and feet kicking my pelvis!

Newmumma97 · 11/03/2021 19:28

I'm due April 17th!!! So nervous but excited!!
Congrats on your pregnancyHalo

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 11/03/2021 19:39

Does anyone have a going home outfit for the baby? Is it really bad that I was just thinking a sleepsuit with a cardi? I wasn't necessarily going to change him into something else as I didn't know how much notice I'd get to leave the hospital.

BaaHumbugg · 11/03/2021 19:47

No I never bothered with a going home outfit, didn't even know it was a thing to be honest!! I'll be happy if the baby is dressed and me too haha!

blodyn91 · 11/03/2021 19:53

Going home outfit will be a second hand onsie and a cardigan and hat. Saving my fave outfits for when we have visitors ☺️
@LuckyFlash yes lits of pain down there today, not overly painful, but still painful, so just had a bath.
Been given 2 pram suits but both are big so for winter really, just cardigan and blanket for summer

rainbow95 · 11/03/2021 19:56

I've just got 2 of my favourite newborn sized babygrows with 2 vests, and 2 upto 1 month sized babygrows with 2 vests. Baby is quite large on scans so thought it'd be a good idea to pack some bigger clothes.

rainbow95 · 11/03/2021 19:57

... and two cardigans to go with them

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 11/03/2021 20:31

The going home outfit will be loungewear for me and the same (ie a sleepsuit/baby grow) for baby...which is what I intend to wear for the following month!

I bought a pramsuit as found a really cute one and there's not much I needed to buy having kept a lot of things from my first baby. Tbh I could have managed without!

They are really cute aren't they. What size did you go for?
SunnySideUp2020 · 12/03/2021 08:08

@LuckyFlash mine dropped some time ago.
Makes longer walk a bit uncomfortable!
And feeling the arms/hands almost on my upper leg 😅 very weird.
For me it did mean that baby was head down and low. I am 37 weeks tomorrow.

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 12/03/2021 09:11

@rainbow95 I got 0-1 month, which suggests up to 9lb. My last baby was just under 7lb full term and the 0-3 month clothes swamped her!

bunhead34 · 12/03/2021 10:39

Does anyone have just general belly ache? I've had it for a couple of days im
So uncomfortable 😭 my lower back is hurting too xx

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 12/03/2021 11:37

@bunhead34 me!! I do!
A few nights ago I went to bed straight after work (great when the office is next to the bedroom!). I eat my dinner in bed but just wanted to lay down. It reminded me of IBS? It must just be baby being really squished and our digestive system suffering as a result. Try gaviscon as that is helping ever so slightly for me, but I've still had a tummy ache for days on end.
I have had a bit of acid reflux too so it's all connected. Over 3 quarters suffer from heartburn in 3rd trimester.

sylbunny · 12/03/2021 12:23

We've been kindly given 3 newborn jojo Maman Bebe onesies by a friend. They are so small I'm not sure he'll be in them for more than a couple of weeks if they even fit at all. I'm going to take them as my going home outfits but I'll take a few spare 0-1 onesies as well.
