@Asianchick6693 nice update from you!
@LRHRN we had another successful latch and feed in the early hours and I’m pumping every four hours min to keep my milk supply up and means she can have some breast milk bottles. To be honest this does mean my husband can help with the feeds and it’s not so much pressure on me. To the other ladies - you should just use your hands to express colostrum, explained here by la leche who have been so supportive to me while me and baby girl figure it out.

EithneBlue · 30/11/2020 12:03

@FTM1512 - That's amazing news, especially for still being in Tier 3 :-) :-)

LRHRN · 30/11/2020 12:13

@Babyhope98 you should have a baby today then 😃🤞🏼
My labour was about 5hrs from having my waters broken so hopefully you'll be holding your little bundle soon ❤️❤️

@peachypetite aww that's good, definitely nice to have the help.
It's so tiring x

kkr168 · 30/11/2020 12:30

@Amyyy1 I'm pretty sure she said induction date would be booked at my 41 week appointment.

Those of you that have had to be induced, if your cervix is already dilated do they go straight to breaking your waters? I was 2cm dilated at my last sweep.

LRHRN · 30/11/2020 12:38

@kkr168 yeah my waters were broken straight away and my husband could stay with me the whole time until we bought her home

kkr168 · 30/11/2020 12:44

@LRHRN Was your waters being broken enough to start labour? Assume the next step from that is straight onto the drip.
I was induced with my last pregnancy but I only required 1 pessary to get things going, it progressed naturally from there.

LRHRN · 30/11/2020 13:38

They broke my waters and left me for 2hrs to see if contractions would progress and then checked me they said they would leave me another 2hrs if I wanted or start the drip and I chose to start the drip because I just wanted the baby out sooner rather than later x

Amyyy1 · 30/11/2020 15:29

Currently feel like I've got bad period cramps where I'm needing to curl up to get any minor relief from it but don't think these can be considered contractions at all as it's not starting and stopping 🤷🏻‍♀️

phe694 · 30/11/2020 15:43

@Amyyy1 i've been like this for nearly a week now 😩 currently 3 days over due and very fed up!

Amyyy1 · 30/11/2020 15:53

@phe694 Oh bless you 😓 Has your midwife said anything about it?? I'm currently wrapped up on the sofa with a blanket and hot water bottle😅

phe694 · 30/11/2020 15:59

@Amyyy1 i'm currently bouncing on my ball which i literally hate 🤣 i saw her on friday; explained that i lost my plug on the tuesday and been having bad period pains and she said it's all good signs, she tried to do a sweep but my cervix is behind her head, so that failed. and i'd have to wait until friday for another 🤔

LRHRN · 30/11/2020 16:16

@phe694 @Amyyy1 it all sounds very good and like your cervix is getting ready.
My cervix was behind baby's head too, again a good sign that baby is fully engaged and getting ready ❤️

phe694 · 30/11/2020 16:18

@LRHRN how you getting on lovely? she's been fully engaged for as long as i can remember now, i think that's even more frustrating for me 😩

kkr168 · 30/11/2020 16:49

@LRHRN Thank you, at least I have some sort of idea what to expect this time.

@Amyyy1 I've been having period pains but they don't lead anywhere, so frustrating.

Amyyy1 · 30/11/2020 16:49

@phe694 @LRHRN Ugh I hope it's a good sign! 🤞🏻

Amyyy1 · 30/11/2020 16:51

@kkr168 I really think these last few days/weeks of pregnancy must be the worst out of all of it so far, just the constant waiting around not knowing what's a sign and what isn't!!! Hope it gets going for you soon x

LRHRN · 30/11/2020 17:08

@phe694 lovely thanks, very tired and very emotional but it's just the best thing ever when you get your baby, I think because I've not rested either was back doing the school runs and everything when she was 3days old as my husband has had to go back to work because it's our own business, luckily he's going at 5am and he's back for just after lunch. All these aches and pains and the frustration of watching for every little sign just disappears and all seem so irrelevant.
It is all worth it for the result ❤️❤️

LRHRN · 30/11/2020 17:14

Just a little advice for all you lovely mummy's who are still waiting for your baby's is to get as much rest as possible because your body and mind are going to go through a huge change. People don't tend to talk about the full impact a new baby has on you, it's always nicey nice and that's not always reality. You'll see a lot of us on here have been completely honest about the struggles aswell as achievements. All we can do is our best and just remember we are amazing!! Our bodies have created and carried a human for 9months and to go through child birth is just incredible.

I've not had a good day or night with my baby she's been really unsettled just abit grunty and windy and it's really knocked me, I feel like a shit mum that can't feed my baby properly and I'm causing her pain.
I also feel like I can't trust anyone to hold her or do anything for her, I need some rest but I can't bare the thought of even my husband watching her whilst I sleep.
So many mixed emotions at the minute, I look at my husband and i absolutely adore him and he'd do anything for me but then an hour later I don't even want to be in the same room as him and can't bare him touching me and I'm snapping at him 😭
I feel so sorry for him cause he's trying to do everything and work and I'm just being a bitch!!

phe694 · 30/11/2020 18:00

@LRHRN oh bless you lovely! i've been really and my sleep hasn't been effected, i'm really nervous for when my little one arrives in regards to other people visiting her, OH doesn't seem to be that bothered. i feel like people don't mention how hard it is having a new born, always seem to comment on the pregnancy!

EithneBlue · 30/11/2020 18:21

@LRHRN - That advice honestly makes me cry a bit. Being 41+2 is incredibly uncomfortable, not sleeping well, peeing constantly, intermittent cramps and on top of everything the crippling boredom of lockdown/Tier 3 life means that I can't even meet a friend for a coffee to take my mind of things :(

peachypetite · 30/11/2020 18:27

@EithneBlue chin up girl you’ve got this. I totally agree with @LRHRN above - it’s amazing having the baby but most of us have had some unexpected thing happen or problems breastfeeding. So if there is anything you can do like start a new box set and just put your feet up in the meantime please do. Ladies this group has been a bit of a lifeline the past few days, thank you.

lc86 · 30/11/2020 18:36

So nice that we all have this group to vent/share and learn ❤️

danielasummer · 30/11/2020 19:13

I love this group - so many supportive mums/mums-to-be 🥰 our little babs is due a week on Wednesday and I already feel like I'm learning so much from everyone else's experiences!

This thread moves so fast and I only check it in the evening - so sorry to anyone that I have not replied to with regards to my posts, and thank you to everyone that has replied with some helpful advice!

@EithneBlue hang in there. Looking forward to reading your announcement post which I'm sure we won't be waiting too much longer for!

did any of you girls have heat-burn worsen at beginning of labour? the last few hours have been horrific and the tablets i take haven't helped in the slightest, my back pain is now more intense and comes and goes where as before it was just there 🙈

roro87 · 30/11/2020 20:06

its my birthday tomorrow and my due date and I'm just feeling really down. I've been struggling this past week and with lockdown etc just find it hard to find any joy. Like I'm struggling to walk much too tired to concentrate on books and TV. I did just finish the crown which kept me going. I think it is just not know the when or the how that is getting to me.
