@roro87 Happy Birthday for tomorrow my lovely! Hope you have a wonderful day. Are you doing anything nice? Have you finished work yet?

MrsSmith2020 · 30/11/2020 20:10

@phe694 I would be calling triage- just to be in safe side lovely. Xx

MrsSmith2020 · 30/11/2020 20:11

@LRHRN your post made me quite emotional; such a wonderfully worded way of putting things. Sending big hugs to you lovely

@EithneBlue you got this! You can make it through these final days, you'll be sat there next year looking back at this time thinking "I thought it would never end"

phe694 · 30/11/2020 20:12

@MrsSmith2020 my midwife is a client of mine and i messaged her and she said too monitor it for the next hour or so, but it's stopped 🤞🏽

MrsSmith2020 · 30/11/2020 20:19

@phe694 Sod's law!!!

roro87 · 30/11/2020 20:22

@MrsSmith2020 Having a sweep tomorrow Grin don't know if I'd call it nice but if it works I'll be happy. Besides that just spend the day as usual with my dog and doughnuts in the evening instead of cake. Yes finished work at 29 weeks due to bp issue so seems even longer the wait as 11 weeks sitting at home filling the day now. Hopefully soon something will happen. Hope you are getting on ok too

Babyevictionimminent · 30/11/2020 20:33

@roro87 that sounds really tough. I’ve found this weekend really hard with nothing to do other than go for walks. I also really don’t want to speak to friends/family, which I think is all part of the black mood. So I’m isolating myself even further. If it’s any consolation - I felt exactly like this when waiting for labour with my little girl. I got really worried that I was depressed and getting pregnant was such a mistake etc. Then she was born and it all lifted. I had all the wild up/down emotions, but not the black mood that was there leading up to her birth! They have to come soon...

alphabetti · 30/11/2020 20:52

I’m booked for induction Wednesday at 39+1 due to being diabetic. Was really hoping this little one would come early as my other daughter came exactly on 38wks but this one doesn’t seem to want to come yet!! With my oldest I did get to 39+4 though.

Had Covid test today at drive through outside hospital ready for admission and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Wasn’t pleasant and the swab up nostril made my nose stream afterwards. The nurse did it for me though which I was glad of as was too chicken to do it myself haha

It still seems to be that at my hospital partners can still only come once in established labour and I really don’t want to be on my own but just hoping things progress fairly quickly. I had stretch and sweep done at 38+2 but it didn’t work as not had baby yet! Midwife said cervix was still quite high but soft and was 1cm dilated but she did say sometimes after having children it never fully closes. I did experience cramping after it and have been losing bits of clear jelly since but no contractions and baby still wriggling away with lots of big kicks. Least should t be too long until I get to meet my baby.

phe694 · 30/11/2020 20:53

the pain seems to be in my lower abdomen area now so fingers crossed something is happening 😩

viixie · 30/11/2020 21:02

What does everyone think about this? Today I am 37+5. I've grown a bit but not as much as normal so seem to be dropping centiles Confused

EithneBlue · 30/11/2020 21:17

@roro87 - Happy Birthday! It's super tough isn't it? In my case I really don't enjoy "just relaxing" and I'm normally such an extrovert that not being surrounded by people is absolutely eating me alive - watching box sets and sitting down all day just makes me unhappy but I can barely even walk anymore so getting out and about isn't an option. I've done ultramarathons and right now honestly gemuinely think that running 100km was easier than this last little bit of pregnancy. We will get through it though: the end is in sight!

Also @LRHRN I just read my reply to you back and realised it might have come off not in a way that I meant it to: it wasn't a criticism but I was suddenly worried that's how it looked when I read it again Blush Just self centred sadness and self pity from me over here.

roro87 · 30/11/2020 21:23

@Babyevictionimminent and @EithneBlue that's exactly how I feel too. I don't want to socialise despite being an extremely social person plus not really able to bar online or phone. Hopefully will all be over soon. Thanks for your support makes me feel much better knowing I'm not the only one

NaomiB79 · 01/12/2020 01:09

@LRHRN thank you for your honesty in your post. Of course it is amazing to have our new babies here safe and well but like you say it is really hard! Being a new mum is a constant rollercoaster of emotions and the physical stress of sleep deprivation and the impact that it has on you shouldn't be underestimated.

I'm 4 weeks in now and my baby has colic which has been incredibly difficult. She screams for hours and is completely inconsolable, regardless of what we try to do to soothe her, and believe me we have tried EVERYTHING! I've cried a lot because I feel like I'm failing, when I know deep down this is just a phase, it's quite common and it will pass.

As new mums our hormones are all over the place, making us emotional and likely to take out our frustrations and concerns on our partners or those closest to us. That is quite normal even tho we feel like a bitch for doing it.

I would say take all the help you can get from partners / family etc and remember everything is a phase and will pass in time. Remember you are doing a great job, your baby is healthy and thriving, we've got this! Xx

MrsSmith2020 · 01/12/2020 05:04

Ladies, anyone else have really itching hands?

I've been awake since 3 and I cannot stop itching my hands!!!

LRHRN · 01/12/2020 05:52

@roro87 Happy Birthday and Happy due date ❤️

roro87 · 01/12/2020 05:55

Hi All, quick update waters went at 4am and contractions started straight away. at hospital waiting to be assessed. thanks for the birthday wishes

LRHRN · 01/12/2020 06:07

@EithneBlue I didn't read it that way I just saw a fed up mumma. I can't imagine how much pain you must be in I've never gone past my due date. Anything after 37 weeks is torture, just try your best to see the positives ( I know that's impossible)
On the plus side at least you know that your baby has to come this week. So so close to the finish line now. Lockdown hasn't made this easy for any of us and for us to even get through that is amazing.

@NaomiB79 oh no I'm so sorry your baby has colic. I'm sure my baby has some kind of reflux issue I'm going to mention to the health visitor when she comes. She's not poorly but a bit sickly.
My friend had a colicky baby and all that helped was a bouncer chair that you lie baby on their front and it rocks them side to side I think it's called a mamaroo but they can be quite expensive new.

@alphabetti your cervix only needs to be 1-2cm to have your waters broken so hopefully you can avoid the pessary stage and skip straight to that as then I'm sure your partner can stay the whole time (mine did)

We are tough on ourselves as pregnant mums and new mums but we are absolutely amazing, when you see your baby nothing else matters. I feel like I'm on autopilot and I'm so tired running around after my other kids too, trying to help run our business and also in the process of selling one of our businesses which I've got to sort today everything is just a blur but I look at this beautiful little dot and I'm just in total awe.

Good luck for you all having inductions, sweeps and hopefully going into labour today ❤️

LRHRN · 01/12/2020 06:12

@roro87 ahhh wow! Good luck lovely, can't wait for the birth update ❤️

LRHRN · 01/12/2020 06:15

@viixie mine was quite similar it dropped slightly because baby had moved to fully engaged. It doesn't look like it's too far from following a steady line and If your midwife isn't worried I'm sure it's ok 😊
Just keep an eye on baby's movements and any early labour signs xxx

loobeelou · 01/12/2020 06:29

Good luck @roro87 and Happy Birthday 🥳

danielasummer · 01/12/2020 06:33

@roro87 eeek that's so exciting! Good luck and happy birthday! X

PipTed · 01/12/2020 07:51

I’ve been crampy all night and have backache, also have a brownish discharge (sorry if TMI) - does this mean anything or am I clutching at straws?

Kj1010 · 01/12/2020 08:12

@PipTed sounds like a show so could happen anytime in the next few days.
I didn't have a show with the baby until my waters were broke but my last daughter I had a show and went into labour the next evening. Good Luck ❤️
