@kkr168 I get the fear if they sleep all day wondering what that'll mean for night time! 🙈. Hope your wee one sleeps well tonight x

kkr168 · 16/12/2020 18:25

Does anyone else's baby hate bath time?

lc86 · 16/12/2020 18:46

@kkr168 Harri did until I started dripping water from a flannel over his stomach and he loved it.. worth a try xx

kkr168 · 16/12/2020 18:55

@lc86 I'll give it a go

alphabetti · 16/12/2020 19:29

@kkr168 my baby girl is 14days old and cries when I bath or change her! Guess she’s still getting used to this crazy world.

Health visitor cane today and I mentioned she barely sleeps at night unless held and wants feeding constantly in night sometimes every hour and half whereas in day it’s every 3hrs, health visitor says it’s normal and just feed on demand. Partner helping out at night as he gives her x1 bottle of formula in early hours so I can get a few hours sleep. I love being a mummy to her but my god wish she’d learn to sleep more!!

Pinktruffle · 16/12/2020 20:18

Mine is ok at bath time but hates having his nappy changed, he often puts his foot in the nappy as he is kicking so much - this has resulted in both pee fountains and with him putting his foot in his poo so I'm luckily he likes being washed.

He is feeding like crazy - 4 ounces every two/two and a half hours. I'm wondering if I should up him up 5 ounces but I'm worried as he throws a bit up after he feeds and I'm worried I may be over feeding him.

NaomiB79 · 16/12/2020 20:44

My little girls loves being in the bath and having water sponged over her tummy and head but she screams hysterically when we take her out and dry her and dress her. Kind of defeats the purpose of the bath being relaxing before bedtime 🤣🤣

Kj1010 · 16/12/2020 20:47

My one screams at nappy change n baths he drinks between a ounce n half to 3 but not all the time so I'm just feeding as and when he wants it so I know he is getting all he needs

Jwl45 · 16/12/2020 21:07

Well health visitor came today. The left nipple still hasn't healed and I dread left side feeding. So we have decided to feed off the right only . My left leaks massively anyway so I'm hoping this will be enough not to have too much pain. We had already introduced one formula feed few days ago and she's taken to that really well. My only worry is that there won't be enough in my right to satisfy her. I've read that this isn't the case.... That the breast is never totally empty.... And I'll always have enough milk.
I do hope this is right.
Formula lol however.... Well
.. what a mess!!

kkr168 · 16/12/2020 21:50

@jwl45 have you tried nipple shields? That's what I had to used when my nipples were sore, it helped massively. Also it might be worth getting a Hakka to catch any milk from the left breast whilst feeding from the right, no point wasting good milk.

Jwl45 · 16/12/2020 22:44

@kkr168 nipple shields didn't work for me.
What's a Hakka? I've not heard of this.

Kpm7 · 17/12/2020 07:58

@peachypetite that’s interesting. I’ve seen these a few places and wondered how they work. I believe Tommee Tippee and Mamia do them similar. Not sure if they are as good xx. I am going to get one.

viixie · 17/12/2020 10:04

Did anyone get a pain throughout their pregnancy ? Mine started 20ish weeks top right of bump below right rib. It hurts/burns, the skin feels like a carpet burn, it's sensitive to touch. I assumed it's just where babies feet were but I also know my placenta is up there. The skin is really sensitive too just seems to be getting worse. It even hurts if cold water drips on it. I'm hoping this isn't just me ?

lc86 · 17/12/2020 10:25

@viixie I did, and straight after he was born it went 🙌🏼

Kpm7 · 17/12/2020 10:37

My left rib has been a killer.

Has anyone suffered with there knees. Mine is my left knee, the inner part. It’s so sore and when I press it it’s like a easing pain?

Hoping it goes when baby arrives xx

chubbyhotchoc · 17/12/2020 10:38

@viixie I had that. Burning bump. Think it's skin stretching. Mine was very tight

MaverickDanger · 17/12/2020 13:14

I’ve officially lost it Grin

Just had a cry to DH that my advent calendar is now annoying me, as it’s now counting the days past my due date & getting too close to Christmas.

NaomiB79 · 17/12/2020 17:07

@viixie I would talk to your midwife about your pain especially if it's getting worse. I'm pretty sure I was told that pain near the ribs can be a sign of preeclampsia when I was showing some of the other symptoms xx

Charl88 · 18/12/2020 04:04

:58Charl88

My baby boy arrived on Wed evening at 20:45. Planned home birth went well. I've had 4hours sleep since wed morning all he wants to do is feed😴 he's perfect though x

Kj1010 · 18/12/2020 05:33

@charl88 congrats and glad ur birth went well x well little one is starting to drink more and gone bit longer currently fed changed and I do believe he is awake but content in moses basket I'm still having days where I feel ok then feel like I'm back to square one with aching etc my womb is feeling rather tender last day or 2 oh has looked and said scar doesn't look inflamed or weeping so dunno what it is will just keep an eye on it I suppose on a happy note I've lost 13lb so far still a long long way to go but not bad

Candoolili · 18/12/2020 10:34

Late to the party but I am due tomorrow and getting quite antsy! Absolutely no indications that labour is imminent, DS1 was very punctual so wonder will this baby be similar! Anything but Christmas...anyone else due tomorrow?

viixie · 18/12/2020 10:52

@Candoolili exciting! I was due on Wednesday (16th) but still nothing. My other two were born at 40+1 so this is new to me

Candoolili · 18/12/2020 11:42

@viixie it is exciting! It’s quite nice being due around this time with the festive atmosphere albeit it very different this year... any tips for getting through the impatience of going over? I’m getting all the very subtle “how are you?” texts!

MaverickDanger · 18/12/2020 12:26

Hey @Candoolili I was due on Tuesday. Three days has been a lifetime!

I’m starting to get a little stressed about being so close to Christmas & trying to get things lined up for food collections etc. Worst case scenario, there is no one here for the food delivery & to collect the turkey on the 23rd and 24th, so we end up with random freezer selection over Christmas!

We have no family within 300 miles so kind of feeling vulnerable about having no food Grin

I’ve started ignoring the texts, I’ve been getting them for a week now & initially would reply all chatty but just don’t bother now.
