@peachpetite I did think this one was too small but tried on and it's fine around head and shoulders - way too long mind lol.
It definitely made a difference last night... And I think I slept better knowing she couldn't go anywhere... I also worry with blanket as no matter how much I tuck in, in last few nights she's managed to kick it off. (To the bottom though so that's something! ) Let's hope it was the sleeping bag and not just a coincidence 🤣

sandrastillstuffed · 08/12/2020 10:53

@Kj1010 @chubbyhotchoc congratulations on your baby arrivals!!

lc86 · 08/12/2020 11:08

@Jwl45 I love the sleeping bags!! We were able to use those from day one because of how big he is lol, best invention ever xx

LRHRN · 08/12/2020 11:26

@Kpm7 unless your waters break or you start having strong contractions you don't need to do anything yet.
Make sure your bag is packed and you get plenty of rest cause it could happen anytime really but doesn't necessarily means it's imminent.
Good luck ❤️

Kj1010 · 08/12/2020 11:48

Yay just waiting on pediatric doc to check baby and if all is good I can go home

chubbyhotchoc · 08/12/2020 11:56

@Kpm7 be ready! With my first I went into labour 3 hours after plug came away

Kpm7 · 08/12/2020 12:06

Thanks ladies.

Feeling reassured. Just had a shower and watching home alone. :)

Yes I have heard mixed things some loose plug and labour starts, some loose plug and still go weeks.

@Kj1010 that’s good news bet you can’t wait to be home with your bundle of joy.

@sandrastillstuffed I haven’t even had contractions yet throughout.

Although I am unsure what they even feel like. Any twinge I question lol.
Xx

kkr168 · 08/12/2020 12:43

@Kj1010 Congratulations on your baby boy

Ahh @chubbyhotchoc congratulations, so nice to get an update

@peachypetite I got this grobag (sleeping bag) yesterday as he kept kicking his blanket off, fits perfect with plenty of growing room. www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/gift-finder-0-6-months/tommee-tippee-grobag-0-4-months-2-5-tog-baby-stars-snuggle/p/188883

@LRHRN Hopefully your baby starts feeling better soon, if she has a blocked nose I can highly recommend the calpol saline nasal spray. It unblocked my little boys nose instantly

My baby was another that would sleep anywhere during the day but would only sleep on me at night, I fell asleep sitting up with him on my chest & slept for 2 hours!! I woke up in exactly the same position but I felt awful & on speaking to a few friends we went out & got a clevasleep pod. Last night was our 1st night using it, combined with his new sleeping bag & he slept from 11pm till 2am, woke for a feed, nappy change & then went straight down to sleep again, woke again at 5am for a feed, again he settled straight back down & slept until 10am. I feel like a new woman today after actually having a good nights sleep, just hoping it isn't a 1 off like the dummy was, he settled well with 1 for 1 night & has refused it since.

@Kpm7 Hopefully this is the start, I lost mine then mild contractions started a few hours later, my husband came home from work once the contractions got a little stronger.

peachypetite · 08/12/2020 13:30

@Jwl45 mine have a minimum weight on and she’s still not there.
I’m having a really down day after another night of no sleep. I can’t stop crying and wonder how I am going to cope like this long term. Husband is working from home but on calls 24/7 and was meant to have been on lunch an hour ago and hasn’t managed to come down. I’ve made lunch one handed while pushing her in the kitchen in the pram and wanted to have a shower and express while he was on lunch. Sad

Babyevictionimminent · 08/12/2020 13:30

@sandrastillstuffed so frustrating when that happens! My real labour started just the same as the false starts. Same time of day, same irregularity. I ‘tested’ it by changing position lots and going to different rooms of the house and they kept coming, so that eventually convinced me it was the real deal. He was born an hour after I accepted it was real labour!

danielasummer · 08/12/2020 13:46

I'm just at the hospital and it's been confirmed that my waters have broken..I have until 9am to have contractions so praying they come on today!!

lc86 · 08/12/2020 14:02

@danielasummer how exciting!!! Good luck, I'm sure contractions will start soon ☺️

Kpm7 · 08/12/2020 14:06

@danielasummer good luck.

@peachypetite I hope you are ok.

I can’t imagine how it feels but I imagine it’s completely normal for you to feel that way. Considering lack of sleep and lifestyle change.

I do dread the days of feeling like that. I have it planned in my head just like you said you had a plan today but my sister said to me your day will not go to plan. :(. I still have hope but can imagine there will be days we will feel like we want to give up and feel like failures. I follow and read lots of things that assure you it’s normal.

Your allowed to feel that way. Try not to beat your self up.
Better days are coming and apparently when they are running round all over we pray for these early days back. :)

Xxx

LRHRN · 08/12/2020 14:10

@kkr168 I very newly bought one of these but I got scared so we bought the babylo cozi sleeper from Smyths and it's been a lot better as I can see her, she can see me and I don't have to worry as she's still in her own bed.

There can't be many of you left waiting for your babies now?

It's strange how we are all experiencing the same or very similar difficulties with our babies, I'm trying to remember if I found it difficult with my others, I must of but I wonder if your mind blocks it out like labour or you'd never have anymore 😂

LRHRN · 08/12/2020 14:15

@peachypetite
Lack of sleep and raging hormones is the worse.
It's amazing how we manage to learn to do almost everything one handed as a mum and our needs get pushed right to the bottom of the pile but do you know something it's worth every single sacrifice when that beautiful little human smiles at you, wraps their little arms around you and tells you that they love you ❤️❤️

You've got this xxx

loobeelou · 08/12/2020 14:20

Good luck @danielasummer

Charl88 · 08/12/2020 14:48

@danielasummer aww amazing news good luck!

Still waiting here 🙋‍♀️! 38+5 today but any little twinge I'm thinking is this it 🤣 xx

Pinktruffle · 08/12/2020 15:06

Sleeping bags are great, my LO settles so much better at night now he is in it. He would always wake up when put back in the Snuzpod after his feed but he stays asleep atleast 60% of the time now and sleeps so much better on the whole. He's been in it for about a week. I can't believe he is 3 weeks old today, it's strange how in such a short time, you can barely remember your life without them.

chubbyhotchoc · 08/12/2020 15:18

I bought the love to dream swaddles and she settles very well in them. Had an awful night last night because dh had managed to soak both swaddles. Little one wasn't happy at all without it. Really recommend giving them a go if you're struggling at night

sandrastillstuffed · 08/12/2020 15:25

@Babyevictionimminent thanks for sharing, I hope one of these days contractions don't fade away! :D

@danielasummer that's great news, good luck!

Nic2908 · 08/12/2020 18:44

I'm still waiting too 39 weeks today!!
Anyone now how ethneblue is?? I can't find her handle to include her in this message directly?

LRHRN · 08/12/2020 18:49

Came across this on Pinterest which may be useful for breastfeeding mums who are thinking of mixing feeds.
I use the mam ones and so far so good

Been induced today at 40+6 for reduced movements, really upset that I don't get to go on the birthing unit anymore ☹️ One minute I'll be super positive and knowing I'll meet my baby within a few days then just as quickly I'll be back to crying.... currently reading positive induction stories to try help!!

peachypetite · 08/12/2020 19:31

@EithneBlue all thinking of you x @Nic2908

jalu47 · 08/12/2020 19:49

Baby Benjamin born this morning at 11.15 by unplanned c section.

After my second gel at 11pm last night I started contracting about 1am, went to 8cm on induction ward on my own and with no pain relief. Happened all quite quickly, and unexpectedly - they were sure I'd need the drip.

Finally got partner in at 7.15am as I was moved to labour ward and he arrived to me pushing. If baby had been in correct position sure he would have missed it! Turns out he was trying to come out sideways 🙄 Tried forceps in theatre but no luck as everytime he was turned he went back, so the sunroof it was!

So in love but absolutely shattered - due to timings haven't had any sleep since Sunday night and that was only 4 hrs. Ben fed for an hour earlier and another 20 mins now - passed his sugar tests and seems very chilled so far.

Massive congrats @Kj1010 - not quite birthday twins but close!

Haven't caught up on thread but congrats to all the new mummies, you are superwomen!!
