@chubbyhotchoc I was thinking about you earlier! Congrats on your daughter and sorry you’ve had such a rough start. Do you have people to support you while you recover and look after a new baby?

peachypetite · 08/12/2020 01:41

@roro87 my little girl has started colic too at over two weeks old. I’m not sure if the mixed feeding makes a difference but I have friends who had babies with colic that didn’t mix. I’m trying white noise and a dummy tonight

Kj1010 · 08/12/2020 03:13

peachypetite · 08/12/2020 05:58

Been awake with baby since 1am. Feeding, pumping and soothing, for a couple of hours she would only sleep on me. I was just drifting off to sleep when she woke up screaming again. The dummy has helped a bit though.

NaomiB79 · 08/12/2020 06:13

@Kj1010 congratulations this is lovely news to wake up to! Hope you and the wee one are doing well xx

NaomiB79 · 08/12/2020 06:21

My baby was weighed yesterday and she is finally back over her birth weight so we don't need to stick to the really strict feeding plan anymore. We can move back to feeding on demand as she is 5 weeks now. She slept from 1.30am - 6am - I had read that from week 5 they start to sleep for longer stretches but didn't believe it. The most we'd had before through the night was 3 hours. Her colic crying came through the day yesterday so she was pretty settled through the night. For all those struggling hang in there I hope for a good day for you all soon - it may be a one off but I feel like a new woman getting 4.5 hours sleep x

loobeelou · 08/12/2020 06:44

Congratulations @Kj1010 and @chubbyhotchoc

Babyhope98 · 08/12/2020 07:10

Congratulations @Kj1010 🤗

Babyhope98 · 08/12/2020 07:13

My baby will sleep perfectly just waking for feeds at night but refuses to go in her bed but will during the day 🤣 I find myself falling asleep while she’s on me not ideal.. so difficult going to start sleeping more in the day 😩

danielasummer · 08/12/2020 08:23

@Kj1010 @chubbyhotchoc congratulations both of you!! Xx

@Kj1010 @chubbyhotchoc
Congratulations 💕

Sorry you've had a rough time @chubbyhotchoc hopefully now you can enjoy your baby xxx

LRHRN · 08/12/2020 09:14

I've got a poorly little bubs she's full of cold and keeps projectile vomiting after every feed. I've been feeding every 20-30mins she's been throwing it back up and then crying cause she's hungry.
Got the doctors ringing me this morning cause I could just do with some advice I've never had a sickly baby before so not sure if I keep feeding her or try and settle with a dummy.
I'm hoping it's just my antibiotics and it will ease today as it's my last day on them.

I'm like a zombie today, covered in sick but she's finally settled on me so don't want to move her

LRHRN · 08/12/2020 09:19

@Babyhope98 she will settle beautifully on me too but like you say not ideal when you keep nodding off.
I literally have to sit upright with my head off the pillow so if I do nod off I instantly wake up cause my neck about breaks 😂

I'm going to order a wrap sling today cause I can't get anything done and with 2 other kids I've got loads to do

Amyyy1 · 08/12/2020 09:57

@chubbyhotchoc Lovely to get an update from you, I hope you have plenty of help at home so you can recover! Congratulations 🥳 x

@Kj1010 I'm glad it went well for you and you've finally got your baby!! X

Jwl45 · 08/12/2020 10:08

Congratulations on the new births.... Wonderful news.
Well.... Game changer.... The sleeping bag!! I've had the best night sleep last night... Albeit I was up in 3 hrs. Then 2 hrs for feed.... But Elsi was in her sleeping bag so no fidgeting with kicking blankets off and getting cold etc. Wish I'd done it sooner!!
We have gained weight again this week... Still contemplating bottle and breast as my nipple is still very sore .... And I don't know about you guys but for someone who is normally 34b... These big mammas hurt!! So sensitive to cold... touch... Showers.... 🤦🏼‍♀️
Not actually taken the plunge to start yet as I'm worried about mastitis and engorgement

Babyhope98 · 08/12/2020 10:14

Aww bless her hope she feels better soon! @LRHRN it’s so hard I really have to fight not falling asleep but I have done I’m not really a mover but I know it’s not safe but I couldn’t stop myself unless I got a coffee out lol. I’d have such an easy life if it was 😄 my mums here at the moment so managed to get two hours while she watched her x

peachypetite · 08/12/2020 10:26

@Jwl45 I can’t wait until my daughter is big enough for sleeping bag. She keeps kicking her blanket off.

LRHRN · 08/12/2020 10:32

@Babyhope98 that's amazing I bet you feel totally different.
I've not managed to really put Nora down yet she's hanging off my nipple and I'm sure she knows what she's doing. I've ordered a sling so at least I can move around whilst she's on me.

My food shopping has just been delivered so that's sat in the hallway defrosting 🤦🏼‍♀️
Trying to make sure the eldest is doing his school work as he's self isolating, trying to make sure all the washing/ironing is done.
I'm so glad now I didn't listen to my husband when he kept saying I'd bought too many clothes for her. I had to change her 7 times yesterday and her bed so it's a good job I've got plenty.
Can't wait for my husband to get back from work.

Babyhope98 · 08/12/2020 10:39

It’s surprising how much sleep you can survive on after having a child 🤣 I thought I had too many clothes too and I am so glad now!! Lots of explosive nappies yesterday x @LRHRN

viixie · 08/12/2020 10:46

Did anyone feel a bit unwell towards the end ? I'm 38+6 today, yesterday afternoon I just felt tired all of a sudden and migrainey, loud sounds were hurting my eyes. Then last night and this morning I feel like I have a hangover and hot. I tried my temp on my tommee tippee thermometer but I'm not sure how accurate it is. It said 38.9, I tried it on my toddler and it said 37.6

Kpm7 · 08/12/2020 10:48

Just lost my mucus plug.

Wondering what’s next. Excited and scared

FTM. Hubby is at work and I am home alone. No family close by so wondering what to do.
