That seems absolutely ludicrous @Kj1010!

I've been in to the assessment unit for more liver blood tests and they've got much better but for reasons that are not quite clear they want to bring forward my induction from next week to Sunday. I've got some protein in my urine but my bloods are actually better so I'm a bit perplexed. Ringing back this afternoon for more clarity but thinking I might just go for it - not sure what 4 days is going to do, no way I think it will be natural before then anyway (failed attempt at sweep this morning)

It's so hard getting different advice from every different doctor you speak to.

Kj1010 · 03/12/2020 15:36

@LRHRN well I was thinking that how do they know I defo be home day after I told midwife about friends that live not to far from me and have had there appointments at home all through pregnancy etc she just said it's different here so strange but I will definitely not be going my partner wont allow it @jalu47 so u could be having ur littlen a day before me so we be very close still and ur right it is ludicrous

Babyhope98 · 03/12/2020 16:47

When I had raised alt they checked my bp as it can indicate pre eclampsia. So as you have protein another indication in your wee that is probably why they’ve brought it forward @jalu47

Definitely refuse @Kj1010 that’s awful you need to rest after!

She did a poo and the farting has quietened down since 😅 I’m learning.. getting worried about everything lol @LRHRN

peachypetite · 03/12/2020 17:40

@Kj1010 that’s ridiculous!!

Kj1010 · 03/12/2020 17:49

@peachypetite it is indeed well I wont be going that is way to much to expect on any women no matter how she gives birth

Pinktruffle · 03/12/2020 17:50

Congratulations @kkr168, a beautiful boy Smile

@Kj1010 I'm in a Tier 3 area and Covid is still way out of control and the midwife still came to see me at home the day after I came home. Refuse to go in, Covid after a C-section would be awful and such a bigger risk for you - coughing is painful! I went to them for heel prick test when little one was 5 days old and that was tough enough, expecting you to go the next day is mind boggling.

@Babyhope98 my baby is a bit windy too. We have been using infocol and its helped with the burping. He is still breaking wind but it's not smelly and he is pooing around 3 times a day

Kj1010 · 03/12/2020 17:55

@pinktruffle I did find it strange and I will be refusing to go there I will be staying home in the warmth and ssfety

peachypetite · 03/12/2020 18:15

I had a vaginal birth snd the walk to the bottom of my road for the day five check at the doctor was a supreme effort so can’t believe they expect you out and about sooner following a c-section.

Kj1010 · 03/12/2020 18:42

@peachypetite I know maybe she has it wrong but either way I'll be staying put indoors

kkr168 · 03/12/2020 19:31

Are these after pains supposed to get worse? I've just had an awful one, felt as painful as my strongest labour pain, but constant. Paracetamol didn't touch it, I ended up having to take my husbands tramadol.
Baby has a check up at the hospital tomorrow so I'll ask them for some advice.

Jwl45 · 03/12/2020 22:54

Hi all.
Just found new thread... Baby brain perhaps 🤣
Hope you're all well...those of you waiting for your beautiful babies to arrive and those who have given birth. I can't believe Elsi is 4 weeks old on Monday. I'm currently breast feeding.... But with one very sore nipple. Latching on properly now so says the lactation nurse... but damage had been done and as I'm still feeding, it doesn't have time to heal. Has anyone introduced bottle as well as breast or moved from breast to bottle? I'm managing on the right... But on the left, it's toe curling painful. (Albeit the pain lasts about 8 seconds.... But the thought of latching on and feeding this side.... )

Amyyy1 · 03/12/2020 23:35

@Kj1010 So she is happier and feels safer seeing you once you've come into contact with god knows how many people to get to the appointment than visiting you in your home?!? Whaaaaaat??? And how on earth would they expect anyone to be doing all that after a major operation. That is honestly crazy😬

I have a sweep booked for tomorrow and I'm much more nervous for it than I thought I'd be, I think it's the unknown and not knowing what to expect!

MsBee13 · 03/12/2020 23:45

Hi ladies. Just to let you know that the day after we returned from hospital we had to go back as my little on lost 15% of his birth weight and found out he has jaundice. We had to stay in the hospital for two days doing phototherapy and feeding a lot adding formula. Now we are at home and have to continue with the feeding plan. So I still breastfeed, expressing the milk and topping up with formula to make sure he gains more weight. Is any of you struggling with feeding? I have a feeling like he sleeps all the time and sometimes very hard to wake him up for feeds x

I started expressing too. Had such sore nipples but it is getting better. So planning on continuing with both for now. I like the bottles as I can monitor how much he is taking. He is fine with bottles but noticed he likes Tommy Tippee more than NUK x
NaomiB79 · 04/12/2020 00:47

@MsBee13 this happened to us with the feeding too, except we didn't end up back in hospital (we were close to being admitted tho). My baby had lost 11.5% of her weight at the day 5 weigh in so we were put on a similar feeding plan, breast feeding with formula top ups and expressing. I felt terrible like I had failed my baby as clearly my supply wasn't in properly but I had no idea as thought she was getting enough from the breast! The feeding plan was hard to fit in, especially the expressing on top of everything else and having to wake the baby up every 3 hours but we persevered and she gained the weight back pretty quickly. I didn't manage to express as much as they wanted but did it whenever I could. Stick at it and your baby will gain the weight back no problem xx

NaomiB79 · 04/12/2020 00:49

@MsBee13 the tips we were given to wake them for a feed was to either gently blow on their face or strip them off so they are cool. It's so hard to wake them up when they look so content sleeping xx

Jwl45 · 04/12/2020 01:19

@msBee13 yes agree.,. With a bottle you know exactly how much baby is drinking. Sometimes I feel I'm totally empty.... esp when it seems she's trying her best to get to the milk and it's not coming. Breast is easy and instant though.... I haven't read up properly on making up the bottles yet.. my other daughters are 13 and 15... So it's been a while and I'm sure things have changed! I must read up on the whole sterilisation and making up feeds.... How long you can keep them etc. What I have read has been varied. Must do my homework before introducing bottle. I've bought the tommy tipee next to nature ones.
I agree @NaomiB79, waking them is so hard when they look so contented. Elsi will go 4 hrs at times...(rare... But has done a few times) . But was told I had to wake her. Bless her. She was clearly happy enough lol .

MrsSmith2020 · 04/12/2020 05:32

Urgh, managed hours sleep. I want to cry.
Long day at work today with no cover in place and I can't tell if these are braxton hicks or contractions happening!!

MrsSmith2020 · 04/12/2020 05:33

That's meant to say 2 hours sleep 🛌

I am delirious

MrsSmith2020 · 04/12/2020 05:34

My brain says, if you're not sure then it must be braxton hicks.

lc86 · 04/12/2020 06:14

@MrsSmith2020 hope they ease so you can manage the day xx

Amyyy1 · 04/12/2020 06:26

It's snowed lots where I am overnight, hopefully no mad dash needed to the hospital today if I go into labour... 🤣

LRHRN · 04/12/2020 07:07

I'm struggling ladies, not with the baby with myself 😭
I don't want anyone touching her or picking her up not even my husband. I feel like I can't trust anyone at all and it's painful. I can see it's hurting my husband too but I just feel like he can't do things like I can.

I don't remember feeling like this with my other 2, not to this extent anyway and I'm not sure what to do?
Is anyone else feeling like this?

I'm also convincing myself my husband is up to no good, when I know 100% he never would do that to me.
My dad works for him so is with him all day and then he's home at evening and weekends. He never wants to go anywhere alone it's always a family thing. His phone is always left around and he's never secretive and I have no legitimate reason to doubt him at all. I feel such a bitch cause everything he does is for us but I just can't shift this nagging feeling, it's making me ill.
I'm hoping it's hormones and tiredness.
I'm convincing myself though that he's done something wrong and I don't want him near me 😭

Babyhope98 · 04/12/2020 08:48

I would blame it on the hormones. It hasn’t been two weeks yet since you’ve had her yet be kind to yourself. I was crying yesterday about the baby I’m just so worried if she’s going to be ok feel like I’m worrying about everything and I definitely feel more vulnerable with my partner it’s made me love him even more and I feel scared to lose him and I kept asking him if he was happy yesterday 😂 so you are not alone. I feel guilty and my girl just won’t settle in her cot and I’ve had to sleep so I have been doing so with her on my chest 😔 I tried so many times to put her in there she’s so clever as soon as I do she wakes up and starts looking for boob. As soon as I put her on it she takes one gulp and goes back to sleep 🤣 going to keep trying today
