Happy due date to me....... still no sign of baby☹️

What happens if it does come to her being too late and they tell me I need an induction? Can I refuse and ask for a c section instead and how likely is it that they'll agree? I would do anything to avoid an induction with the uncertainty of not knowing if it'll work or not or ending up being a traumatic experience and partner not being with me for days etc

roro87 · 02/12/2020 01:05

Riley arrived at 7pm today he is just perfect. Struggling with latching but apart from that all is good.

@Babyhope98 congratulations x

excitednerves · 02/12/2020 02:28

@roro87 congratulations and lovely name!

MrsSmith2020 · 02/12/2020 03:15

@roro87 yayyyy, congratulations and what a birthday gift!

@Amyyy1 when are you next seeing midwife? What part of induction are you worried about? Defo talk your fears over with midwife and explain what you do and do want.

peachypetite · 02/12/2020 03:16

@roro87 congrats!!! Don’t worry too much about the latch for now, ask the midwives to show you how to hand express colostrum using syringe.

@amyy1 I’m almost 41 weeks and will be discussing this very thing at my midwife appointment. You can refuse induction, absolutely.

I will be - as it’s just not right to expect a
Mother to undergo (up to) days of early labour or treatments that don’t work, without the support of their birth partner. Only for it to potentially end in c-section anyway (chances double).

I know a lot of ladies on here have been induced and have had their partners with them - but that is not the case at my trust and no matter who I speak to about it they don’t seem to care about these concerns. My midwife last week wouldn’t even give me a VE after I refused a sweep, so i have no clue how Im progressing.

I would check out the policy with your trust, first. For me, I believe the policy at my trust has a factor in my my baby isn’t budging-my body doesn’t feel like it is going to birth safely.

peachypetite · 02/12/2020 04:37

@Babyhope98 congrats hope you are recovering from your birth.

LRHRN · 02/12/2020 05:49

@roro87 congratulations what a beautiful birthday gift ❤️

LRHRN · 02/12/2020 05:53

To all the mums breastfeeding, how often are you feeding. I feel like my milk isn't filling my baby she's fine in the day and has an expressed bottle at about 8-9pm and then 11-12pm but then she wakes up at 2ish and I feed and change her put her back down at 3 then she's up at 4 then 5.30 then 6.30.
She doesn't poo much in the night just tiny smudges and she grunts and growls from midnight on and off like she's got wind. She doesn't cry. Just unsure what to do with her x

Babyhope98 · 02/12/2020 05:55

She didn’t stop crying last night for feeding and she has a snort from congestion I was scared she was ill. She’s poking a lot too. Anyone have tips for getting wind up? Was a rough night after so many days with no sleep 😩 I’m scared to take her home. Don’t know if my breast milk is enough for her 😕

Babyhope98 · 02/12/2020 05:56

Thanks all for congratulations 💕

Congratulations @roro87 🤗

Babyhope98 · 02/12/2020 05:56

Pooing not poking 🤣

LRHRN · 02/12/2020 06:15

@Babyhope98 I'm struggling too.
The first few days are hard she will feed a lot cause your milk hasn't come in yet. The pooing is good 👍🏼 Nora didn't poo until 42hrs and midwives were getting concerned.
If you can get through the first 3/4days until your milk comes in then you've cracked it. If worse comes to worse and she's too hungry top her up with formula until you're ready.
You've got this ❤️

Pinktruffle · 02/12/2020 07:03

@roro87 congratulations nice name x

kkr168 · 02/12/2020 08:20

So looks like it was my mucus plug I lost last week because I've just had my bloody show! I've had a constant pressure in my cervix all night & it's still there now, really hoping this is the start 🤞

Babyhope98 · 02/12/2020 08:23

They did give her formula last night as she just didn’t sleep 😩 I have the noisiest baby here 😂 I really do wanna keep going. Maybe a dummy would help do you think? x @LRHRN

roro87 · 02/12/2020 08:54

@Babyhope98 sounds like you had the same night as me but here the baby isn't given formula and must latch. he had so much mucus. hopefully today is better

jalu47 · 02/12/2020 09:11

@MrsSmith2020 it's horrendous isn't it?! My bile acids have been ok but my ALT has been rising for 3 weeks, back in tomorrow for another blood test. Ive been taking Antihistamines at night and the cumulative effects defo help as well as ice / cold shower!

jalu47 · 02/12/2020 09:11

Congratulations @roro87!

LRHRN · 02/12/2020 09:41

@Babyhope98 my baby already has a dummy 😖 she's a little grunty piglet.
Think we just have to persevere, as long as they are gaining weight xx

Nic2908 · 02/12/2020 10:01

Congratulations @roro87 you are doing amazing.

Guys can I ask, for those that have given birth, did any of you have carpel tunnel when pregnant?? And if so did it immediately get better once baby was here or gas it been a slow process? I'm in agony with mine
