Hi everyone! I’m looking to meet new mums in my area, is anyone in Kent?!

Bellaphant · 09/01/2021 19:40

@Mommabear20, you have to do what works for you, but i do think there's more good in this place than bad.

I got my scan appointment! 20th, the letter says I can come alone and then says bring my partner on another page. Guess I'm calling them! I don't know whether my partner can go anyway because it's not a nursery day for Ds and we don't have family nearby to watch him...

Mommabear20 · 09/01/2021 19:43

You’re right, I think I’ll probably take a little break as I think my hormones are making me feel worse about the comments than I usually would, and then once I’m feeling more levelheaded, I’ll pop back in to this thread and go from there. X

@2under22021 It really is amazing what our bodies can do! I'm still terrified of giving birth again though! I heard second births are usually quicker and easier - here's hoping!

I'm feeling much better than I did a few weeks ago. No constant nausea and headache. Just tired all the time!

Is anyone managing much exercise? I was so good with my first and I think it massively helped with birth recovery. This time around I just can not be bothered!

Char899 · 10/01/2021 17:01

@Mommabear20 take some time if you need it. I quite like an internet detox every now and then! Good to switch off.

@FTMF30 I’ve been bad with exercise. I’m just so so tired and have no motivation to even get off the sofa at the moment! Need to snap out of it.

Has anyone else got their 12 week scan this week? Mines tomorrow and I’m so nervous. Mostly because I just want to know if everything is ok! Doesn’t help that I’m a born worrier as it is! My mind has been all over the place today!

popcorndiva · 10/01/2021 18:31

@Char899 mine is on Friday when I will be 12+4.

Hoping it being slightly later it might look more baby like. Sickness comes and goes at the moment, but exhausted everyday

My sister is a physio but also has a pilates website which caters for antenatal and postnatal. I really need to do some of the classes as my pelvic floor is definitely worse than last pregnancy.

FTMF30 · 10/01/2021 19:05

I definitely need to snap out of it too. Other than running around after DS, I get no excercise. Lockdown has it's perks during pregnancy but it's definitely removed the chance to be naturally active.

My scan is next week. I'm a bit of a worrier too. I can't wait to see if everything is ok!

Bellaphant · 10/01/2021 22:28

Good luck @Char899

Yeah, getting weighed at the midwife wasn't fun, but I do weigh about the same as a did just before I was pregnant with ds1, which they seemed impressed about even though I have to do the dreaded diabetes test. I spend a fair amount of time outside but it's pushing a pushchair around the same.streets or walking at toddler speed. I was just feelings ready to do something like a dance class last Feb, and then lockdown!

Is anyone else breastfeeding and finding that it's working different already? My Ds suddenly us taking 40+ mins to do his nighttime feed and drop off, it's making me crazy.

2Under22021 · 11/01/2021 13:06

Good luck @Char899 !

@Bellaphant I had the horrible diabetes test last time but this time where I had such a sickie first 15 weeks I've actually lost so much weight I don't have to have it this time...at least 15wks of sickness had a slight silver lining. I'm feel good now and eating everything Grin

My exercise has been poor to be honest, I went for a walk on Saturday and I think I over did it. I was feeling very fragile in the afternoon

Char899 · 11/01/2021 13:24

Hey ladies, scan went really well. I was right with dates I was exactly 11+3. They can do the nuchal scan from 11+2 so was really lucky! Little bubs was really bouncy and jumping around all over the place, was so so lovely to see. Feels even more real now!

popcorndiva · 11/01/2021 14:39

Amazing @Char899 excited for my scan. I find it fascinating that in a couple of weeks they go from looking like a gummi bear to looking more human like.

12 weeks today ...feels like a big milestone.

Char899 · 11/01/2021 15:06

@popcorndiva it’s amazing isn’t it. My pics weren’t as good as the ones I got with ds but on the screen watching bubs move around was amazing. So different to the little bean I saw at 8 weeks!

popcorndiva · 11/01/2021 15:12

I remember my 12 week with my DS and was fascinated how much he was moving on screen and I couldn't feel anything at that point.

FTMF30 · 11/01/2021 19:05

Oh that's lovely! Glad your scan went wellSmile.

2Under22021 · 12/01/2021 16:32

@Char899 how exciting, glad it went well!

Am guesses on what your having? X

Char899 · 12/01/2021 16:41

@2Under22021 absolutely no idea! I already have a little boy so it’d be great if it was a girl but I’m happy either way! I’ll probably do another private scan around 16-17 weeks as DH isn’t allowed to the 20 week one so will find out then!

2Under22021 · 12/01/2021 16:45

@Char899 oh my god I'm sorry to hear that!

I thought partners were allowed for 20weeks so I better check that in my area!

Yeah I have a little girl already so I'd really like a boy but also think a little girl would be nice for DD x

Char899 · 12/01/2021 17:02

@2Under22021 yeah it’s really rubbish. The 12 week scan date as the only one he could attend. Fingers crossed thing may change further down the line!

Char899 · 12/01/2021 17:02

Sorry ds was attacking me while I wrote that 🤦🏼‍♀️

popcorndiva · 13/01/2021 08:15

I think private places are not allowed to do gender scans in lockdown, so fingers crossed lockdown doesn't last forever.

Bellaphant · 13/01/2021 09:05

My partner may not be able to come - it's not a nursery day for ds and it's not like I can drop him off at a mates for an hour...

Janethat · 13/01/2021 21:48

Hi hope everyone is well? I had my scan today baby looked ok moving about and I'm 13 weeks 3 days so baby will be due 18th July. Seems very real now still feel sick but it is a lot better than what it was,but my energy is still low. But midwife said I should start to feel better soon #5 baby number xx

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 14/01/2021 08:20

Also had a scan this week, i am now 15+4 with baby #6!

I went to the scan alone although letter did say someone could come in for 5 min of scan, most ladies there were alone

popcorndiva · 15/01/2021 10:40

Scan went well my due date has moved up again to 25th July so now 12+5. They were waving away which was lovely
