Some trusts are combining booking bloods with 12 week scans.

I had my booking at 10 weeks. Blood and weight in person. Phone call 3 days later with all the questions. 12 week scan tomorrow, if all well phone appt at 16 weeks. Scan at 20, then in person midwife at 28 weeks

Bellaphant · 16/12/2020 03:21

I've read my text again and it maybe implies I'm speaking to her first and then going in at an unspecified time? Super unclear :s

It's 3:20 and my little one is in his own bed, hasn't woken up once. This is an incredibly rare occurrence!!

Mommabear20 · 16/12/2020 07:39

Hey, have any of you had your booking in appointment by phone yet?
How long did it last roughly?
I've got mine on the 22nd at 9am, but I'll be home alone with our 6 month old daughter so worried how long it's gonna take and if she's gonna be quiet enough for the whole call :/

popcorndiva · 16/12/2020 08:36

@Mommabear20 mine took an hour. They ask all the usual questions plus about your last pregnancy and birth too

Mommabear20 · 16/12/2020 09:51

@popcorndiva okay thanks 🤦‍♀️ no way she'll be quiet for an hour 😂

Prodded and poked. 12 week scan and consultation booked for Jan 15th

2Under22021 · 16/12/2020 21:12

I had my booking over the phone and then had to go for bloods at local gp.

Scan ended up being 14 weeks and 2 days so couldn't have the 1st trimester tests Confused

Don't have an appointment now until 18 weeks.

X

@2under22021 Crikey! Did they even offer some form of apology for not being able to give an actual 12 week scan?

Great news about being able to have a partner at all appointments from now on. I'm very relieved about that.

Char899 · 17/12/2020 20:34

Spoke with the midwife today. Got my booking appointment on Tuesday which is in person now. She said she will take bloods etc then! Glad I’ve got something booked now! Private scan on Saturday... eeeek

Bellaphant · 17/12/2020 21:13

One week til my scan, two weeks til midwife. I was emcs last time, kinda hoping birth will be better at least.

It's weird to thiink in six months I'll be nearly stopping work - I went back fairly early last time so I've been back just over a year

3rdtimelucky2019 · 17/12/2020 21:14

Had my 12 week scan yesterday.

Top scan is my DS now one. Bottom scan is the babe that is cooking. All starting to feel real now.

FTMF30 · 18/12/2020 09:24

@3rdtimelucky2019 Oh that's lovely! Can't wait to have my scan, although I've no idea when that will be yet. Scans definitely make it all seem real. You're really not completely sure how things are going until you see that first scan are you

@char899 How exciting! Tomorrow you'll get to see your baby!

Mommabear20 · 18/12/2020 12:34

Those of you that have had your 12 week scans, was your husband allowed in with you?

OP posts:
2Under22021 · 18/12/2020 20:04

@FTMF30 no apology or even acknowledging that it was so late!

Yeah my hubby was allowed in for our scan.

I loved scan day ....wish I could see baby everyday Grin

Char899 · 18/12/2020 21:25

I am SO nervous for the scan tomorrow morning. I wish I could be excited but I’m so terrified of finding out bad news that I can’t get excited! Confused

2Under22021 · 18/12/2020 21:41

@Char899 aaaaw don't feel like that...you'll get there tomorrow and see that little heart beat and it'll be the best Xmas Smile

I know that feeling though, I feel like I held my breathe for ages until I saw baby

Sending positive thoughts Thanks

popcorndiva · 18/12/2020 22:01

Having to call in sick tomorrow as the flu vaccine i was given on Wednesday has given me a dose of flu which mixed with the usual sickness means I am very weak now. Have to keep telling myself this baby will be worth it as I feel wrecked

Char899 · 18/12/2020 22:55

@2Under22021 it’s so nerve-wracking isn’t it :(
Thank you! I’ll update tomorrow. Ah fingers crossed everything’s ok my anxiety is through the roof lol

Mommabear20 · 19/12/2020 08:15

How's everyone feeling today?

Actual sickness kicked in yesterday 😔 so I'm struggling a bit today as husband is back at work after 2 days off.

Char899 · 19/12/2020 10:48

Just had my private scan. Everything was perfect little baby’s heart rate is 164bpm. Measuring 8 weeks so my dates were correct. So so happy and relieved! Was amazing to hear the little heartbeat too ❤️❤️

2Under22021 · 19/12/2020 11:30

Yeay!!!! @Char899

@Mommabear20 I've been so sicky this time round! Actually lost over a stone...it's now just first thing which weirdly I'm thankful about. I'm 15 weeks so really hope my this passes soon x

Mommabear20 · 19/12/2020 11:33

@2Under22021 I've had horrible nausea since like 5 weeks and been on antisickness tablets but they've not really done much except keep actual sickness at bay, but that went out of the window yesterday.

I'm actually so glad my DD is only 6 months old and not mobile yet! Its tasking enough taking care of her by myself while feeling crap but I don't know how I'd manage if she was crawling/ running around

OP posts:
2Under22021 · 19/12/2020 11:39

@Mommabear20 my little one is 13 months old and it can be tough! It's also so full on that I actually even forget about how I'm feeling which is probably a good thing. Come the evening I'm asleep by 8:30pm Confused

I had the easiest first pregnancy too Hmm

Mommabear20 · 19/12/2020 11:49

As planned as this pregnancy was, I must admit to the fear of having 2 very much under 2. We always knew it would be a short term lose, long term gain but it's getting very real now 😂

OP posts:
2Under22021 · 19/12/2020 12:13

@Mommabear20 exactly what we say! Although when I think about doing normal day to day tasks I'm starting to think how will I do that with two Grin
