Hey there, can I join in? Due my second on 24th July, DS will be 2yrs 10 months. I'm 9+4 now. Having a private scan and NIPT testing in just over a week so I'm hoping all is ok. I had an early miscarriage in August so am lucky to be pregnant again quickly. Zero symptoms so far and it's going so much faster than first time around!

FTMF30 · 23/12/2020 21:22
@FTMF30 I'm more bothered about the chance of giving birth during a heat wave 😂
Ha, me too! DS1 was born in 2018 - a ctazy hot summer. Labour was terrible
I remember being in hospital and DH disappearing for what seemed forever. He came back with a bag of ice and I ate the ice like it was a bag of crisps.

9+4 and no symptoms yet?! You might be lucky enough to have a pleasant pregnancy! Fingers crossed none of the awfulness kicks in.

Hi hope it’s ok to join!

First scan today and I’m 12w 5, so due 2nd July! DD will be 3yrs and 3 months.

Have felt terrible but last time I hit 14 weeks and felt amazing so hoping that’ll be the case again. Haven’t slept well as had been so anxious about the scan so hoping to get a good nights sleep.

Congratulations to everyone here!

popcorndiva · 24/12/2020 10:18

God yeah the third trimester in that heatwave in 2018 was the worst. Ate a lot of watermelon and ice

Not worried about a summer baby our DS's birthday is 8th September and we are actually worried how bored he will be in the year before school. Considering putting him forward to go up to the next year

Bellaphant · 24/12/2020 17:50

I have discovered a no alcohol rose that actually tastes amazing, the coop own brand grananche. So happy!

Bellaphant · 25/12/2020 21:26

How was everyone's Xmas?

How was everyone's Xmas?
It’s the first day I’ve not felt sick! Woohoo! I only felt a bit off it at 9pm, probably because I had been so busy all day. Turns out being run off your feet combats morning sickness 😂
popcorndiva · 26/12/2020 10:41

It was a Christmas miracle, wasn't sick all day and managed some Christmas Dinner. Told our parents so that was lovely

Today is a different story back to normal procedure of being sick

Bellaphant · 26/12/2020 14:21

I managed to cook for three adults and Ds, only sick twice but seem to be paying for overdoing it today.

Just waiting til Thursday and my midwife call now..

Mommabear20 · 26/12/2020 16:42

I managed to keep actual sickness away yesterday but it got me first thing this morning. Have felt awfully bloated and exhausted all day. DH not being as helpful this time, and kinda feels like he thinks I'm putting it on, which is infuriating as 1. I'm not! And 2. He was amazing last time. Kinda thinking he's just not enjoying the extra responsibility of taking care of DD the majority of the time. 😔

Had a good Christmas day but felt shit by the evening. Was at my mum's and couldnt explain my dramatic shift in mood as I don't want to announce the pregnancy yet. It was hard going but I'm glad I got to at least enjoy part of the day.

It's much trickier with a 2nd pregnancy isn't it. Even though my DH has been helpful, it's not the same as before - one of us has to take care of DS while the other takes care of everything else. My first pregnancy was so much more enjoyable compared to this.
Char899 · 26/12/2020 21:45

Not been sick for a few days now! Bit nauseas briefly yesterday but otherwise I’m feeling much better on that front! Still totally shattered at all times though! Glad everyone had a nice Xmas!

Pinkchicken85 · 27/12/2020 06:45

Hello everyone! I’m 5 weeks pregnant and my first one will be just under 2 too when it arrives. Very early days but excited to possibly have two little ones so close in age 😃
Thank you @Mommabear20 for setting up this group! @popcorndiva I can totally relate, I don’t live in the UK and we had a heatwave of up to 44 degrees here during my third trimester 😓 it was awful!

Mumtoalittlegirl · 27/12/2020 11:39

Hi everyone. Posted earlier in the thread but haven’t read it all.

Ended up staying on my own Christmas afternoon as I couldn’t deal with a big meal (plus family don’t know) it was quite nice just to relax though. Smile

I think I am 7 weeks +3 now. To much info but the problem I have is.. and as this is a thread for second time Mums I’m wondering if anyone else has the same issue. But basically I wee myself when I’m sick Sad sometimes quite a lot if I can’t stop being sick. Luckily I have been at home and work at home but it feels awful.

I’m going to have to work on my pelvic floor for sure or I’ll have no chance after this one is born!

Mommabear20 · 27/12/2020 12:56

@Mumtoalittlegirl oh no! Luckily I've not experienced this as have always had strong pelvic floor muscles, hope you manage to fix it and get your muscles strengthened. Try doing your exercises while doing a daily house chore, it sounds weird but my MIL said after her 1st she started doing them every time she washed the dishes and still finds herself doing them now just out of habit 😂 her youngest is 24!

Hi folks, hope you don't mind me jumping in!

I'm 31, approx 7 weeks along and have a lovely little girl who has just turned 4.

I have always said what a dream pregnancy DD was and how I'd do it again no problem, pregnancy is a breeze for me!!

LOL

Yeah well, current me would like to go back and slap past me so, so so very hard.

The nausea?! Urgh. The throwing up? The bloating?

I look and sound like a beached whale with a particularly bad hangover.

My scan isn't until 4th of February when I will be about 13 weeks... I've not seen or spoken to any medical professional at all so far, and find it a bit rubbish I won't do so until I'm in the second trimester... but what can you do?

FTMF30 · 27/12/2020 20:51

@mumtoalittlegirl Oh that doesn't sound fun at all. I haven't experienced that but you can definitely do some pelvic floor excercises to improve things. All's not lost!

@AbbeyBelfast Quite a few of us seem to not be getting seen until the second trimester. I'm still yet to receive my scan appointment. Will be in 2nd trimester around 19th Jan. With xmas, I've had no choice but to wait a few days before chasing things up, but I'll be really sad if I get a late scan.

Bellaphant · 27/12/2020 21:13

@AbbeyBelfast, I don't think any of us even have a scan date, lol. I'm talking to my midwife for the first time on Nye, will be ten weeks then and it all does feel a bit late.

How's everyone else's kids doing in this weather? Ds is driving me up the wall, roll on going back to nursery for a few days!

AbbeyBelfast · 28/12/2020 10:27

It's bizarre isn't it? I remember being seen really early on with my first. It's a bit disconcerting isn't it?

First morning in a week I've woken up and not felt too sickly, keep everything crossed for me girls lol

3rdtimelucky2019 · 28/12/2020 10:33

I think it depends on trust. I had face to face midwife appointment at 10 weeks, scan at exactly 12 weeks. My next appointment is at 16 weeks and us on the phone. After that it's scan at 20 weeks. Then I have an in-person midwife appointment at 28 weeks.

popcorndiva · 28/12/2020 10:39

My trust are being quite good offering mostly in person appointments. 12w scan is booked for Jan 15th when I should be 12w +5. Seeing a consultant at the VBAC clinic afterwards. 16w appointment booked for mid Feb. So, so far same as with my DS.

Char899 · 28/12/2020 17:29

I’ve had my midwife appointment now and just waiting for a letter with my scan appointment. She said for me to call next week if I’ve not had a letter yet just to see if I can get the date over the phone. On another note has anyone heard of the ramzi theory? It’s basically a theory they use on really early scans before the nub theory applies.
Today I decided to waste a few quid sending my scan photo to the nub techs! Came back 75% confident it’s a girl! It’s just a bit of fun really but will be really interesting to see if they’re correct later down the line! 😁

popcorndiva · 28/12/2020 17:56

Here is my scan at 9w +2. Looked just like a gummi bear so that's our nickname for it now
