Hi!

I got my BFP a few days back (well a lot of BFPs as I'm a POAS addict) and my due date is likely to be early August 2021.

Any other ladies out there with similar exciting news in need of chat and support in these strange times please jump on board!

Hi 👋
I have my positive test yesterday and from the dates, appear due 3rd August 21 😍🥰
Do you have any symptoms? What made you test so early?
I had tested about a week ago, negative. I then tested a few times over recent days with cheapies and they were negative. I had felt hot, sweaty and sick today with mild cramps so thought AF would be arriving (due on Sunday) but felt strange...I was dizzy yesterday too. So I tested to rule it out...so shocked but over the moon!
I had a meltdown earlier in the week and felt like it would never happen for us 😭

Sleeeeeepy · 21/11/2020 10:00

Congratulations @Twinkle1989 I'm apparently due on the 3rd as well!

It's so odd when it actually happens isn't it, you can't believe it! I'm terrible for testing all the time and I saw a shadow on Tuesday on a cheapie, did a frer and there was a faint line. I've been doing more tests periodically to check the line is darkening and this morning have a very strong one so pleased about that!

How long have you been trying? How did DP react?

Oh wow - yay Congratulations 🥳

Are you still testing?! I ordered more tests yesterday being fairly confident I wasn't pregnant 😂 I'm reading too more now and flapping 😭

It doesn't seem real - this is only our second cycle - September we were supposed to but I think I missed ovulation as I wasn't well.

How about you?

I'm over the bloody moon - although have no real symptoms but I was feeling hot, sweaty and sick yesterday so thought I had a bug. Did a test only so I could rule out pregnancy and crack open the baileys 😳👀 xxx

Sleeeeeepy · 21/11/2020 10:29

Oh wow, that was quick!! The trouble with knowing so early is you have to give up all the fun stuff so soon 😂 If my bean sticks I'll be into morning sickness by Xmas itself anyway so won't be wanting anything too rich.

This was cycle 8 for us and we were planning to give up soon. It'll be number 3!for us and age wasn't on my side, with our eldest I caught first cycle.

I keep having to remind myself it's real and keep looking at the tests to check. I'm not expecting any symptoms other than a bit of weight gain until the sickness, hopefully you'll be lucky and won't get that!

Have you had a CP before? I think that's what I'm flapping about as still have very mild twinges that I feel only when I think about it so may even be in my head!

It's my first baba so it's all new and I am just so excited! I want to go and tell my parents but DP is trying to tell me to calm down and wait 😭 I tell them everything though!

Sleeeeeepy · 21/11/2020 11:17

No I've never had a CP, my body seems like it's all in or nothing.

V exciting it's your first! I'd wait a little while to tell, it's the highest risk time at this point, we probably won't tell anyone until the 12 week scan, though my mum's coming for xmas and if the last two are anything to go by I'll look like death and be feeling sick the whole time so it might be fairly obvious 😂 You might not be able to resist telling though so just do what feels right for you. Squeeee it's so exciting!!x

Just popping on to moan that my boobs ache. I always forget about this stuff!

OP posts:
Twinkle1989 · 23/11/2020 17:30

😂 moan away!
I'm actually starting to feel quite sick now. This morning I pulled over in the street to gather myself 😂
I've contacted the maternity place and I've booked in for a private scan in December - am I too eager??
I'm panicking about something bad happening but the midwife reassured me that getting to 4 weeks was a big milestone and very unlikely to be CP now as AF not arrived - she told me to stop flapping at that the odds were in favour ❤️
Have you told anybody? I've told my parents and that's it 😳

Twinkle1989 · 23/11/2020 17:38

@GreenApplesYo how are you doing? You can't be far off end of July / August? ❤️

Sleeeeeepy · 23/11/2020 20:13

@Twinkle1989 oh my goodness nausea already is not good, I hope you're OK!

I've booked in for an early scan on the 18th Dec, fingers crossed it stays stuck til then! I've not even got round to telling the NHS yet, we won't tell anyone for quite a while, I'm a bit older so chances of abnormalities etc are pretty high.

How did your parent take it, were they super excited?!

OP posts:
Twinkle1989 · 23/11/2020 20:29

How old are you if you don't mind me asking?
Parents were very happy for us as they know it's something that we have planned for years!

18th?! That'll fly by! I'm booked in for 21st 😍

Super, super excited but doesn't feel real right now - I'm not sleeping well at all because I'm lay awake thinking 'oh my god I'm pregnant!' 😆 xx

Twinkle1989 · 23/11/2020 20:30

Sickness was before I tested positive 😂 I'd felt sick, hot and sweaty! Somebody had a cigarette walking passed me and it nearly made me sick 😂

Mellous · 23/11/2020 20:55

My predicted due date is 1st august! Feeling excited but super anxious, this is my first pregnancy.

Twinkle1989 · 23/11/2020 21:01

@Mellous my first pregnancy too!! It's so nerve racking isn't it?!
Google is not my friend - the midwife told me this today!! xx

Sleeeeeepy · 23/11/2020 21:50

@Twinkle1989 Dr Google is a very bad idea!!! It's so hard to avoid doing it though. I'm 38 so will have extra checks privately to make sure all is well (if I get that far!) So glad you're parents are excited too! I can't sleep well either, it doesn't seem real

Hi @Mellous Welcome to the thread and congratulations! Anxiety is just part and parcel of it unfortunately but excitement should be too 😊

OP posts:
Sleeeeeepy · 26/11/2020 11:50

I feel like I'm wishing my life away at the moment, every day seems looong. I know I should enjoy the bit before feeling sick but I'm too anxious about it sticking to relax!

OP posts:
Mellous · 26/11/2020 12:21

@Sleeeeeepy can totally relate!! I don’t feel pregnant at all and I can’t stop worrying. Have you told anybody yet?

Sleeeeeepy · 26/11/2020 13:07

@Mellous No, I think if we'd told anyone it would make the worrying worse for me. Have you told anyone?

I've been periodically doing the digital number of weeks test to see if it's increasing, got a 2-3 today which I'm pleased about. I am a POAS addict and got through so many tests, I now can't bear to stop until I see 3+ 😬

OP posts:
Mellous · 26/11/2020 13:11

@Sleeeeeepy haha I’m exactly the same!! I got 2-3 this morning too which was nice to see. Got one more digital test which I will save until next week and hopefully get a 3+ Smile

We’ve told parents and siblings. I was a bit reluctant to but my husband was dying to! We will keep it to ourselves for a while apart from that though.

Sleeeeeepy · 26/11/2020 13:18

@Mellous oh my goodness I'm so glad it's not just me!! I feel less like a nutter now, I did feel reassured that things are progressing but will keep worrying anyway no doubt.

I bet your family are super excited! Are there any other grandkids around yet?

OP posts:
Twinkle1989 · 26/11/2020 17:20

Haha I'm glad it's not just me doing the digital ones 😂 I too got 2-3 weeks (I am 4+2 though) and have another one for next week.
I cannot wait for my first scan on 21/12 maybe then things will feel real xx

Sleeeeeepy · 26/11/2020 17:39

@Twinkle1989 2-3 is 4-5 in the real world, CB are measuring from conception apparently which doesn't help anyone. It's so funny you are testing as well, maybe everyone does this and I just didn't get the memo 😂

I can't wait for my scan, seems like ages away. Still haven't told my GP, I can't face the phone queue

OP posts:
MushroomQueen · 26/11/2020 17:58

Hello, got a faint positive yesterday and a positive digital today so think it's really real. This is my 3rd but my youngest is 4 and feels like a lifetime ago I was pregnant

Sleeeeeepy · 26/11/2020 19:45

Congratulations @MushroomQueen !!! You have to have a good amount of hcg to get a positive digital. How are you feeling? This will be number 3 for me as well if all goes well

Drl94 · 26/11/2020 19:50

Hi! Due in August, but as I said on another post not entirely sure on the due date- came off my pill on the 25th October and took a digital and normal test on Sunday - both positive. Taken every day since and line is getting darker.

It's my 1st and I'm trying not to get too excited haha!
