@Onekidnoclue I was saying the same thing yesterday! Especially when they ask you all the questions before you attend appointments. I worry about having the energy for labour if I can't even make the bed without needing a rest 😂 xx

Lollipop93 · 24/11/2020 12:24

Hey everyone. Hope you don’t mind me joining in! I was on the other thread but it has went a bit quiet over the past few weeks! I am now 32+2 with my second. Just a wee update from week 5-week 18 I had horrendous morning sickness but honestly the past few weeks I’ve felt great and really enjoying being pregnant second time round touch wood the only thing that’s in the back of my mind is the birth. I had an induction with my last baby, inducement started in the Thursday, waters broke on the Friday night and didn’t have her till Sunday... it was horrendous and the recovery was awful, sepsis and two blood transfusions. The midwife said what probably happened was because I was induced they held me off and let woman that came in the door go first so essentially they elongated my labour because there was no room in labour ward. So I’m co sultans led this time and been having discussions with my midwife and doctor to hopefully avoid this happening again obv they can’t promise anything. But long sorry short i really want to avoid being induced. It also affected my ability to breastfeed too.

How are you all? I’ve been feeling breathless too like as if I can’t get a full breath in!

It’s all starting to get so real now!! When is everyone due?

WhoUsedMyName · 24/11/2020 13:15

I'm due on the 10th jan can't come soon enough I'm so uncomfortable especially at night I have bad spd. I've got the breathless thing too even going up the stairs infact even when I'm doing nothing.

Poodlemum1 · 24/11/2020 13:45

So my waters broke last night 10 pm at 34 weeks , got to hospital and went into Labour. I did have a planned c section but had to get put to sleep and delivered at 3.45 am.
Baby boy 7lb 3 oz doing good in special care as his blood sugars are low and I am still in recovery as my sugar is very high !
Still cannot believe this happened but now just want my baby in my arms as soon as possible 🤞

@198435years I'm the same and get so out of breath just going up the stairs sometimes and other times I can run up them with no worries. It makes no sense. Also my iron levels are very high so maybe it isn't the cause of it. Aren't our lungs getting squashed now until the baby drops a bit?

@Poodlemum1 oh my goodness I can't believe you've given birth so soon. Why do they think that happened? Are you ok, you must be in massive shock. Baby looks such a cutie. Good luck with the recovery and keep posting cute pictures. It must feel awful to have to go home without him. Have they given you any indication how long you'll have to be apart?

Skyla01 · 24/11/2020 21:34

@MeganC104 I know 2nd hand car seats aren't recommended but they wouldn't stop you using one! I personally think the not 2nd rule is a bit OTT. We have ours 2nd hand, only used by 1 child, assured by previous owner no accidents. Can't see why that is different to someone else using the same seat for multiple children. Probably best to check about the inserts though.

@Poodlemum1 congratulations! Amazing to see a baby already, hope you all get home soon.

pigletpie2177 · 24/11/2020 22:09

@Poodlemum1 congratulations! That's the same weight as my first born who was c section at 39+5! I'm PPROM right now so great to see this.

Has anyone got any magic cures for acid reflux? Prepared a lick a scabby badger right now if someone thinks it will help 😩

Poodlemum1 · 24/11/2020 22:12

He’s doing well just need to keep his levels stable .
I’ve been to special care but couldn’t have a cuddle , hopefully tomorrow I can .
I sang a song to him and held his hand and he stared at me eyes wide open all through the song and held my hand tight .
Needles to say I was very emotional, I then came home and FaceTimed my girls to say good night again a very emotional time .
My husband got all the tears though I managed to hold myself in front of the children 🥲

LiG123 · 24/11/2020 22:33

@Poodlemum1 oh that made me well up. Baby is saving all the cuddles for another time. Any contact is good and hearing your voice is also important. Stay strong!

Poodlemum1 · 24/11/2020 22:40

@LiG123 he is amazing .
