@ttcchapter1 Fingers crossed it happens naturally for us!! I’m going a walk soon then a clary sage bath haha!! I had induction with my first and ended up with epidural and forceps nearly csection delivery then a big blood loss so I’m trying to avoid it too! But I suppose if it needs to happen it needs to happen!

ttcchapter1 · 08/01/2021 12:07

@Lollipop93 thats the thing, no matter what we want, we have no control over what happens! Good luck with your walk, I'll be bouncing on my exercise ball today 😬!

LouiseT12 · 08/01/2021 12:48

Hey ladies! I'm now 40+ 3! Had a sweep yesterday and since I've been having period pains on and off. My entire stomach hurts is this normal? She said the baby's head is low down and she could actually feel her! and my cervix is in a good position and 1cm dilated! So fingers cross this is the start! Ive got another sweep booked on Sunday if nothing changes. Also got a growth scan booked for today she's dropped of the chart slightly so she just wants to check. I'm not worried but I'm excited to get to see her on the screen again!

PopsicleHustler · 08/01/2021 13:04

Update on my slow labour.

Currently having contractions 8mins apart and during the day. Which is a complete change to then only happening consistently in the evenings. Am about to clean like crazy to see if that brings then in harder.

PopsicleHustler · 08/01/2021 13:05

I honestly think am in a slow latent phase

footprintsintheslow · 08/01/2021 14:28

Hi everyone, I'm 39+6 and booked for induction on Monday morning. No chance of them letting me go over at age 41, plus I've barely got the minimum allowed fluid. They asked if I'd been leaking...I thought I'd been weeing so who knows.

@PopsicleHustler there's a few of us planning babies around food deliveries. I've got one coming on Tuesday.

@pigletpie2177 good question I wonder should I be thinking of anything at this late stage.

@Tink20058 good luck with the sweep.

Good luck to everyone...the thread is getting busy with updates as we all approach the end!!!

Tink20058 · 08/01/2021 14:58

I definitely felt that sweep she did a good job so hopefully things will start, I was still 2cm have another appointment on Monday to try again before I get appointment for induction xx

pigletpie2177 · 08/01/2021 17:34

Oooh lots going on today!

If it helps anyone else my local hospital (Wigan, so Gtr Manchester) isn't demanding negative COVID tests being shown before partners are allowed in apparently, so no need to change my plans and schedule anything. Partners allowed in when you're in "active labour" (so 4cm dilated for those, like me, to whom that meant nothing). I've been told to make contact early into any signs of labour but sounds like still worth staying at home for as long as possible!

I've booked one sweep for 39 weeks and been told I can have another at 40. I was asked if I wanted to book induction for 41 but have said no for now. Positive mental attitude right? 🙈

HannahP2014 · 08/01/2021 18:27

38+3 and just got in the bath, got the chills and headache so bad and also been having pains every hour through the night! Really hope it’s the start Smile

Onekidnoclue · 08/01/2021 22:00

Good luck @HannahP2014 🤞🤞🤞

I am soo jealous reading all your stories of you coming to the start of your labour's.. 39+1 for me today had my growth scan and he's not big at all, the opposite.. he measured more like 20th centile where as midwife has had him on the 90th with the tape. Has anyone else had such a different outcome on a scan before 🙈 getting me back in for a doppler check which I'm guessing is on my placenta next Thursday unless I magically go into labour before then which I am having no signs of at all. Kinda wish they would just induce me now and see how is when he's born rather than all these ifs and buts and extra checks 😔

pigletpie2177 · 08/01/2021 22:39

I had something similar at 31w @PollyOaks - bump measured 97th but baby was 50th - then next growth scan we measured 30th. Between concerns about waters and concerns about growth I've had 7 scans since that point. They've told me the growth scans are notoriously unreliable too so try not to worry.

Funnily enough I've just been looking at this post on insta too which is full of examples of growth/weight estimates being wrong

Had my babe on Tuesday. So glad she's finally here.

Just wondered if anyone had experienced similar to me. My first labour, though long and protracted, felt like a wonderful experience whereas this one felt... well, barbaric for want of a better word. A few things feel at odds for me about it and I can't quite process it.

Onekidnoclue · 09/01/2021 07:17

Congratulations @loveacupoftea18 I’m so pleased you’re enjoying your daughter. Sorry birth sounds dire. Was there something in particular? Was it instrumental? No pain relief?

Update

Been to the hospital at 4am this morning
I'm 2cm dilated. Been in labour for 24 hours now.

footprintsintheslow · 09/01/2021 09:12

@loveacupoftea18 did you know you can ask for your labour to be explained to you in a review. Some find it quite helpful.

@PopsicleHustler how wonderful keep us posted. How are you coping? Are you alone?

Lollipop93 · 09/01/2021 09:44

Oh exciting @PopsicleHustler keep us updated!

I was so sore trying to get to sleep last night. Not contraction pain but lightning crotch pain my husband had to help me move from side to side. Why does it come on so much at night :(

Not been feeling anything else so I must still be 1-2cm dilated and I’ll probs just go after my due date at this rate coz I’m not holding my breath I’ll go before 😂😭

pigletpie2177 · 09/01/2021 09:47

Good luck @PopsicleHustler! Look forward to updates!

I didn't know you could ask for reviews @footprintsintheslow that's good to know. Hope you're ok @loveacupoftea18 x

PopsicleHustler · 09/01/2021 12:26

I honestly have had enough, my lovely ladies. I honestly was in so much pain. and then to find out at 4am I was only 2cm. I'm just literally barely scraping by on paracetamol and hoping for the best. Also feel extremely nauseous too.

Hows everyone else feeling today?!?!?!

Lots if love

PopsicleHustler · 09/01/2021 12:27

@footprintsintheslow

I am with my hubby and my kids. Who clearly have decided to fight and bicker all day ! Lol

PopsicleHustler · 09/01/2021 12:27

Congratulations @loveacupoftea18

I'm expecting my 3rd girl also

Lollipop93 · 09/01/2021 12:35

@PopsicleHustler aw it’s so frustrating isn’t it:( is it on and off contractions pains you are having? xx

PopsicleHustler · 09/01/2021 12:37

@lollipop93

I'm having regular contractions since 1.35am x

Lollipop93 · 09/01/2021 13:06

@PopsicleHustler aw man hope you are holding up ok and the contractions start to dilate you more! It’s annoying when the hospital sends us away 😭

pigletpie2177 · 09/01/2021 13:59

@PopsicleHustler have you looked at any hypnobirthing stuff? I only ask as on the one I've been watching (Birth Ed - some free bits on insta) she said something about not thinking of it as "only Xcm" but "already Xcm" - I know sometimes that's easier said than done though and I bet you're shattered. Every contraction is bringing you closer to your baby though. You can do this!x
