@pigletpie2177 hey, I’ve had a few niggles and some bump tightenings but nothing major. I went a walk today and going to go in a bath soon so hopefully it will start something! Not holding my breath lol!! I hope I’m not destined for another induction xxx

Lollipop93 · 07/01/2021 14:00

Should I use the sex bomb bath bomb in my bath or is that going too far lol! It’s the bath bomb that’s recommend not to use in pregnancy

PopsicleHustler · 07/01/2021 14:20

Congratulations @Grumpy19

Did they want to get you out of the hospital as soon as you had delivered? Have they been quite good with you?

PopsicleHustler · 07/01/2021 14:21

I'm here planning to rape my husband when he comes home from work as am sick of the false contractions and stopping and starting this week.
My legs are hurting too and I feel sick and weak all the time. I just want my little pippin now.

PopsicleHustler · 07/01/2021 14:22

I wish I could go for a walk @lollipop93

But I struggle even walking round the house as there is a constant pain literally around the top of my inner thighs

Anyone know what that is ?

Lollipop93 · 07/01/2021 14:32

@PopsicleHustlerhow far along are you? That could be similar to period pains in your thighs and could be a good sign along with feeling sick I’ve heard are signs labour is approaching!

Onekidnoclue · 07/01/2021 14:48

@PopsicleHustler I asked my midwife what I could do to bring the baby on and she said to watch Bridgerton!!! Her thinking is that a cheeky shag will tip you over the edge if you’re close but not do any damage if not!
She also said pineapple is bad for heartburn so avoid!

I am 38 weeks plus 3

WhoUsedMyName · 07/01/2021 15:17

@Grumpy19 congratulations!!!!

PollyOaks · 07/01/2021 20:37

@PopsicleHustler I have had this for a long time now and think it's to do with my SPD but it is worth mentioning to the midwife

PollyOaks · 07/01/2021 20:37

@Grumpy19 congratulations ☺️

ttcchapter1 · 07/01/2021 22:56

Congratulations @Grumpy19 !!

I've just had really brown discharge, enough to fill a panty liner, is that my mucus plug most likely?

Lollipop93 · 08/01/2021 02:44

@ttcchapter1 is it gooey? I’ve been starting to have a bit of gooey show browny/pinky. I think if it’s gooey it could be mucus plug not sure about if it’s just discharge? If it’s loads maybe check with midwife? I’m also starting to have period like pains on and off. I wonder if the sweep worked.

PopsicleHustler · 08/01/2021 07:41

Hi @pollyoaks

Oh my goodness. I didn't think of it being Spd at all!!!!

PopsicleHustler · 08/01/2021 07:44

Update on my side of things. I am still having bloody contractions in the night every 8 minutes and then stop when I go to bed .
My plan is to walk loads round the house today and scrub top to bottom to get the ball rolling but I have an Asda food shop due tomorrow morning. And my aunt who is having them, it's her birthday tomorrow lol. So reluctant to do anything today that could make me have her tomorrow as it likely would not be today. My body loves one or two days long labours.
Youd think that because I have had 4 children, things would be quicker oh no! Last baby born 2018 was 32 hours. Majority of that i did at home until i couldn't take any more .

Onekidnoclue · 08/01/2021 07:48

Oh @PopsicleHustler that’s exhausting. Totally know what you mean about timing things though. I’ve got a delivery Saturday night I don’t want to miss and don’t want the baby to have 13th as their birthday 😁

38w today - just had my (hopefully) final scan and confirmed that baby is still head-down hurray! It's been quite the test of my willpower to have 11 scans and not find out the sex of this baby ☺️ I'll know soon though!!

Growth and weight sound good but just waiting to see consultant now. We've previously discussed sweep at 39w so hopefully can get that booked today and need to discuss what's happening at our local hospital so I can think about how this will pan out on the day!

Any ideas for questions I need to ask so close to due date? Want to check about whether husband is expected to show negative COVID test to come in with me (and if so, think about whether that makes induction more attractive so I have an idea of timings!) and at what point I have to go in when contractions start - I vaguely remember some general guidance last time but I'm now classed as high risk due to previous c section so suspect it's changed.

Tink20058 · 08/01/2021 09:12

I’m 38+6 today had contractions 2 nights ago went in was 1-2 cm dilated but cervix was still a bit high/posterior was given membrane sweep, 2 hours later was 2cm so sent home had contractions on/off since but not regular, booked for another membrane sweep this afternoon so hoping it will be enough just to start me off if I’m a little bit more dilated xx

Lollipop93 · 08/01/2021 09:23

I wish the rules were more clear. As far as I know it’s better to go into Hospital in active labour so then birth partner can be with u the whole time. I think if I was to be induced I would need to go through the whole lengthily latent phase alone? And birth partner is allowed to come in when you are in actual labour in the labour ward?

Lollipop93 · 08/01/2021 09:27

@Tink20058 hmm sounds frustrating :( me and you are quite similar I’m 38+5 and had a sweep the other day. Last night I had period pains through the night was up from 2-4 and then took painkillers. It’s not as bad now but mucus plug has came away. I hate the unknown this bit could literally go on for another two weeks haha!! Hope not!

Tink20058 · 08/01/2021 09:38

@Lollipop93 I have taken a more relaxed attitude now I was getting so worked up timing them, I have ordered some Clara sage oil To arrive today the midwife recommended it when I went in apparently helps relax whilst in labour, I’m hoping I go to appointment today and they say I’m further on, I read it’s good to have membrane sweeps 48 hours apart to get good results so I’m hoping it does the trick, luckily my 2 boys are with their dad all weekend now so less stress If things happen xx

Lollipop93 · 08/01/2021 09:50

@Tink20058 ah that’s a good idea. I used my lush bath bomb with clary sage in yesterday. Might try another one today. And the raspberry leaf tea. that’s good you are having another sweep. I wish I was but the next time I go for an appointment is 40 weeks. I just hope I go myself I was 1-2cm dilated at my sweep too! Keep us updated if any progress at your sweep today xxx

ttcchapter1 · 08/01/2021 11:27

@Lollipop93 yeah maybe discharge isnt the right word 😬 it was very gloopy and jelly like having period pains since but nothing else has come out.

Lollipop93 · 08/01/2021 11:35

@ttcchapter1 that sounds the same as me! The pains have sort of died down now. Is it weird I’m willing pain to come on again haha I’m so impatient

ttcchapter1 · 08/01/2021 11:50

@Lollipop93 honestly I thought it was going to happen 😂 im being induced on the 14th but dont fancy all that pessary business! I want it to happen naturally before then 👀
