Hahaha @footprintsintheslow

Yes, will be going up and down them shortly. Just polishing off a bowl of Krave!

Astro562 · 05/01/2021 09:09

Joining the thread too! FTM mum and my due date was yesterday. I’ve had a bit of backache and cramps on and off but nothing major. I’m booked in for a sweep on Thursday to hopefully get things going!

WhoUsedMyName · 05/01/2021 09:18

Still reading the thread ladies. Sounds like a few of you maybe on your way I can't wait to have a baby thread. I forgot my snack bag can you believe it! Was fuming got offered two cups of tea and had to keep asking for water so you prioritise that bag 😂.
Get your rest in I was sooo restless towards the end but honestly at 4am when I feel like I'm the only awake person in the world I remember the day I could have slept at that time 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

VeeVeeBee77 · 05/01/2021 10:55

@LouiseT12

Mainly at night I feel dehydrated! I also suffer really bad with hay fever symptoms at night so much so it's stopping me from sleeping! Has anyone else suffered with this before and then it goes after baby is here?

What type of snacks do people take to hospital? I still need to nip to shop to fill my snack bag!

My hospital has released information on birth partners etc after the announcement of another lockdown and nothing has changed! Still can't be with you during triage but anything af tree r that they are with you which is a relief!

I've got crisps, chocolate buttons, haribo, dried fruit and cereal bars in my snack bag so far, as well as drinks. Basically, anything I can eat easily to give me an energy boost. Going to put in a couple of bottles of water/made-up squash at the last minute as well, plus anything else I fancy for food that we've got in depending on the time of day
Tink20058 · 05/01/2021 12:03

Having a stretch and sweep on Friday afternoon now instead of Monday 🤞 I’m hoping I have a little girl by the end of the weekend, I need to pop and get snacks and currently cleaning the house from top to bottom so it’s all ready xx

Grumpy19 · 05/01/2021 12:05

Last day before induction! (I'll be 38 weeks)
I'm home schooling my 3 older DC.
Setting up the moses basket- better late than never!
Going to hospital for a covid test with DH.

Onekidnoclue · 05/01/2021 12:15

Just seen my midwife who booked me for a stretch and sweep on 19th. I told her I’d be in a bloody awful mood if I’m still pregnant then 🤣
I need to sort snacks but no idea how to stop myself scoffing them in advance. Definitely need to pack haribo and cereal bars. Squash is a great idea too.

@footprintsintheslow it's a growth scan, had a sudden jump on the graph at my last appointment and the midwife said she doesn't think he feels big so could be potential too much amniotic fluid 😩 trust the complications to come right at the end. Hopefully the tape was off but I do feel like I've suddenly got a lot bigger, I initially blamed the Christmas chocolates 🙈 if there is excess fluid or he's big then they said they are likely to induce me which I didn't want but not sure how much longer I can cope now so I probably wouldn't say no if they offer lol

dancingqueen03 · 05/01/2021 15:48

Hello😊, hope you don't mind me joining in Iv been reading the chat but too scared to join in 🙈

Thought I'd join in today seen as it's my due date today, FTM so no idea what to expect from labour or when it's started. So far I haven't had any of the signs as in any back ache or period pains

@LouiseT12 hi i seen you joined today too and looks like we have the same due date how are you feeling?

LouiseT12 · 05/01/2021 18:16

@dancingqueen03 hey 👋 yes same due date! I'm ok thought things were starting as for past 2 days I've had period pains and backache and then all day today nothing until about an hour ago they've come on again! Not sure if it's happening or my mind playing tricks on me! Got my sweep booked in for Thursday though.
How are you feeling?

footprintsintheslow · 05/01/2021 18:41

Hello new joining friends, congratulations.

I feel sick as a dog. Too much cleaning and washing and too many chocolates. I honestly feel so ill and drained. I want a proper slummy MAT leave day tomorrow.

dancingqueen03 · 05/01/2021 18:49

@LouiseT12 hopefully it's the start for you and not your mind playing tricks 🤞keep us informed 😊 Iv also got a consultant appointment on Thursday so I was hoping they might offer me a sweep (planning on asking while I'm there anyway)

@footprintsintheslow hi 👋 aw hope you do get a chilled day tomorrow Iv had the cleaning bug this evening too - secretly hoping it gets the little one moving

VeeVeeBee77 · 05/01/2021 19:28

I've been offered a sweep on 40 weeks (next midwife appointment) if baby isn't here by then - any ladies who have had one, what does it involve and does it help in speeding things up?

oliveroses · 05/01/2021 20:55

I have packed mr kipling's country slices, mini soreen bars, crisps and pineapple juice. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in!

Hope it all goes well tomorrow @Grumpy19 !

@Onekidnoclue my sweep is also due on the 19th, though I found out today that baby may be breech after all and I have a blood test pending for preeclampsia so who knows what might happen between them and now Confused

pigletpie2177 · 05/01/2021 21:10

Hey everyone - lovely to have new people and so close to due dates!

I'm now 37+4 and feel like my bump is slightly lower this week but nothing else going on really - same old bra hatred and hideous heartburn/acid reflux 😔

Still need to finish packing my bag and you've reminded me to sort the snacks thanks! I'm thinking haribo, chocolate, breakfast bars and water...

Will be thinking of you tomorrow @Grumpy19 - keep us updated!

Onekidnoclue · 05/01/2021 21:59

@oliveroses genius idea for the soreen. Off to update my supermarket order!

Sneaky breech baby sounds less than ideal though. Good luck for your tests

Grumpy19 · 05/01/2021 22:01

@oliveroses and @pigletpie2177 thank you. Don't think I'm going to sleep tonight!!

pigletpie2177 · 05/01/2021 22:26

@oliveroses your list sounds awesome. Less so the breech baby - that was me 3.5 years ago. You thinking ECV or section if that's right? Or does your hospital allow breech birth?

oliveroses · 05/01/2021 22:31

@pigletpie2177 I'm inclined to go straight for a section ... always had a feeling it would go that way, though not for this reason! What did you decide to do?

Onekidnoclue · 05/01/2021 22:32

Oh! I remember some useful and thought I should share before I forget!
PACK LIP BALM in your hospital bags! The place is sooo hot plus you pant a lot giving birth so you can easily get chapped lips.
Thanks my one piece of useful advice 😬
As you were! 😁

OP posts:
pigletpie2177 · 05/01/2021 22:39

I'm doubling up my lansinoh nipple balm @Onekidnoclue - it's the best lip balm ☺️

@oliveroses I also went straight to section. I was a breech baby and my mum and I nearly died when she was having me so I wouldn't have wanted to try breech birth even if our hospital allowed it. I googled too much about ECV and freaked myself out, though I spoke to another consultant after I'd made that decision and maybe I'd have felt differently if I spoke to her first. Are they going to scan you again?

oliveroses · 05/01/2021 23:29

@pigletpie2177 thank you, that's good to know! Yes, I have a scan booked on Thursday which will confirm. Looking forward to seeing the little guy again!

pigletpie2177 · 05/01/2021 23:39

@oliveroses well I sulked about not getting the waterbirth I wanted but actually my section was a positive experience overall. At least you'll know either way on Thursday and have some time to get your head around it x

PopsicleHustler · 06/01/2021 07:05

Morning ladies

Update on my pregnancy

Had stronger contractions in the afternoon and evening. However, they all fizzled out and I wasn't woken by any during the night.

So am now thinking it's not the real thing and just my body getting itself ready for the big day.

Going to try the stairs and maybe the monkey business.

How's everyone else feeling

PopsicleHustler · 06/01/2021 07:08

@veeveebee77

I had a sweep with my 4th baby as she was 5 days late.
It was a tad uncomfortable but not painful. I just breathed through it.
It is literally just the midwifes fingers going round your cervix to help loosen it up. It worked for me. But I was already 1to2cm dilated at the point also.

Wish you the very best and everyone else too.
