A little bit of baby spam.
You are all so close now it could be any day even if you don't feel any different.
After my sweep I had a few niggles but from 4pm-9pm nothing at all
9.05pm my waters broke I got to the hospital and was told I was 4cm dilated and got into the birthing pool and he was born at 10.10pm. I can't wait to see your updates ladies ❤️

Aww congratulations to those who have already had their babies they are soo cute.

I am due the 17th of Jan with my second. I’m hoping to go into labour myself. I don’t want induced but shall wait and see what happens! I’ve ordered some raspberry leaf tea haha

Lollipop93 · 01/01/2021 19:15

@WhoUsedMyName sorry I missed your sorry what was your due date? That was a quick labour you did so well! The sweep must have rest started soemthing. I think I’m getting a sweep on Wednesday I’ll be 38 weeks! Baby feels quite low getting lightning crotch bad but no show or anything yet!

Lollipop93 · 01/01/2021 19:15

Story*

WhoUsedMyName · 01/01/2021 19:34

Thanks @Lollipop93 I was due on the 10th jan and had my sweep Tuesday morning which made me 38+3 I think. Then he came along that night x

LiG123 · 01/01/2021 19:37

@WhoUsedMyName wow fast labour! Is this your first??

WhoUsedMyName · 01/01/2021 19:42

@LiG123 he is no 5 but my friend just had no 2 and was even faster which I didn't even no was possible

LiG123 · 01/01/2021 19:45

@WhoUsedMyName oh wow! I had a glimmer of hope for a second 🤣

Congratulations!!!!!

WhoUsedMyName · 01/01/2021 19:49

It's not unheard of if your waters break. But mine had never gone before they have always gone in labour if felt like an elastic band snap and I howled

Grumpy19 · 01/01/2021 20:20

@WhoUsedMyName so sweet!!
I've just had a hit curry and about to have a bath soaked with clary sage. With my DC2 I was in labour for 1hrs 40mins and DC3 they not much longer but she was induction (pushing stage about 20 mins!)
As our hospital is 40 mins away I have said I won't be getting in a car if I feel any urges to push. My parents (who will be looking after our children) are also 45 mins away so if I do beat the induction date it could be a close call.

WhoUsedMyName · 01/01/2021 20:48

Oh wow @Grumpy19 really, that is just so far especially in pain x

Lollipop93 · 01/01/2021 20:59

My hospital is also about 40mins to an hour away :( that is the one but that is bothering me the most. I’m scared incase I end up giving birth in the car... anyone got any previous experience with long distance journeys to hospital and going into labour yourself? I have mentioned it to a midwife but she just said if it gets to the point u think the baby is coming you pull over and call an ambulance. Tbh just scared me more lol. Ideally I want to be at the hospital and hope I’m far enough along that they won’t turn me away

Onekidnoclue · 01/01/2021 21:33

@WhoUsedMyName he’s soooo cute. I’m really in need of cute baby snuggles now!

@WhoUsedMyName not only is he perfect he had the perfect birth? Why did they give you a sweep? I'm asking as mine is measuring off the scale and we had the same due date so I'm curious with your experience.

Same worries here about getting to hospital. Active labour was15 minutes last time, hospital is 35 minutes away. But it's unlikely to happen in the car so I'm staying calm.

WhoUsedMyName · 02/01/2021 09:00

Thank you @footprintsintheslow I had a mw appointment on the Tuesday and was due scan on the Wednesday but when I got to the mw app I told her I had passed my plug and also I think there was blood in my urine she checked and there was. But because she thought blood wasn't in urine was actually coming from plug she checked and said his heads really low do you want a sweep x

pigletpie2177 · 02/01/2021 11:51

Oooh @WhoUsedMyName loving the baby spam! He's gorgeous 😍 and sounds like the perfect birth story! Any complications from being tier 4? I'm nervous about that now.

I was offered a sweep at 38 weeks but I have an interview on 11th so am having my growth scan/last minute check scan at 38 and have opted for sweep at 39 weeks. That may have been offered due to it being vbac? Didn't really think about it - last time was very different.

Just remembered that at one point (when everything looked a bit scary) it was suggested I could be induced today. That seems crazy! I've still not finished packing my bag 😂

Hope everyone is well!

WhoUsedMyName · 02/01/2021 12:27

Thank you @pigletpie2177 being tier 4 wasn't a problem once in there dh had to have mask on whilst mw was in the room but when we were alone he didn't x

pigletpie2177 · 02/01/2021 13:09

@WhoUsedMyName oh that's good - someone from work was telling me that when her daughter gave birth a couple of months ago (in tier 3 at the time) her husband had to show a negative COVID test result - not too bad for them as she was being induced but tricky if (like us) you're not entirely sure when it will happen!

Tink20058 · 02/01/2021 14:13

Well lost another big blob of mucus plug again today and had backache/ like period pains all night last night I’m hoping not much longer 🤞🤞 xx

Onekidnoclue · 02/01/2021 21:07

Oh good luck @Tink20058
Is anyone collecting collostrum? I’m not sure I am doing much but hoping it’s worthwhile and it might nudge labour forward a bit.

pigletpie2177 · 02/01/2021 21:14

Yes how's it going @Tink20058?

@Onekidnoclue I have a harvesting kit (doesnt that sound grim?) and plan to start next week just in case it triggers me sooner than I'd like. Are you planning to take it all to hospital if you go in?

Tink20058 · 02/01/2021 21:50

@pigletpie2177 just Braxton-Hicks 😭 been having them for weeks now, I have found a contraction timer online so I don’t have to sit and count them xx

pigletpie2177 · 02/01/2021 23:30

@Tink20058 oh no! Hopefully the real contractions will start soon for you!

I don't think I've had BH yet (I'm guessing I would know!?)

footprintsintheslow · 03/01/2021 07:30

Any action in the night @Tink20058 ?

Onekidnoclue · 03/01/2021 08:03

@pigletpie2177 I wish it did trigger something!! I did it last night (it’s definitely creepy and boring). Then frantically googled to see if I might have triggered something. No joy. There’s absolutely no evidence saying it induces labour. There’s a theory about releasing hormones which could do something but sex triggers the same thing in a larger volume.... plus studies on women who bf through pregnancy are fine.
My baby will walk out when he hits puberty I think!!!
