@WhoUsedMyName in both pregnancies I've been adamant that my hands smelt like garlic. Not sure the smell was elsewhere but as part of this discussion about my waters potentially having broken (or not, as the case may be) I've been talking about a "post-sex" smell from that region. Considering their jobs that does seem to illicit a slightly embarrassed silence.

I do also remember feeling really sweaty after my first born (who was a breastfeeding limpet) and not smelling "like me" so I've just stocked up on roll on deodorant!

@MeganC104 hopefully all ok - comforting that the midwife seemed unconcerned - do you have any appointments scheduled now or are you straight through to due date?

WhoUsedMyName · 14/12/2020 17:17

@pigletpie2177 yes was my hands too Blush

WhoUsedMyName · 14/12/2020 17:19

Does that seem like a dramatic jump ?

@WhoUsedMyName, did they plot it on your 'personalised' growth chart?

Grumpy19 · 14/12/2020 17:21

Cross post!

Grumpy19 · 14/12/2020 17:23

Well it looks like it's jumped from 50th to just under 90th centile. Have your previous babies been a similar size?

WhoUsedMyName · 14/12/2020 17:23

8.5
8.13
7.11
7.5
In that order

Grumpy19 · 14/12/2020 17:26

So if baby stays on 90th that's predicting 9lbs 4oz.

This is something that is really stressing me out too as mine is up above 90th according to fundal but 50th according to growth scans but all bigger than my largest (7lbs 10oz) who go stuck!

Grumpy19 · 14/12/2020 17:27

That's 9lbs 4oz at 40 weeks I should add.

WhoUsedMyName · 14/12/2020 17:31

Wowzers yeah I'm bothered!! I will update you when I see mw tomoz you are not alone

Grumpy19 · 14/12/2020 17:36

I just keep telling myself these scans are notorious for being wrong!
Good luck with your mw.

pigletpie2177 · 14/12/2020 19:22

@WhoUsedMyName I've been having similar conversations recently though mine is because we've gone from 50th to something like 21st (I think) - my consultant has said they are notoriously inaccurate so I have another on Friday but she's told me not to worry in the interim. Hopefully you will have the same and one or both measurements were a little out and it's actually in the middle x

WhoUsedMyName · 14/12/2020 19:25

Well tbh with one of my sons o was told he was big and he was 7.11 but that was years ago and I thought it would have all changed by now but I'm kinda hoping it hasn't now I'm in this position and they've still got it really wrong lol x

Grumpy19 · 14/12/2020 19:52

I remember my DC1 femur being plotted on the 90th centile, I'm only 4ft 10 and he's now the shortest in his class!

WhoUsedMyName · 15/12/2020 08:35

@MeganC104 this morning I've had exactly the same thing! Maybe I've never noticed or maybe it's never happened really sorry for tmi but the tissue looked like I had blown my nose on it 🤮 that's only how I can explain it. Seeing me today so will let you no

MeganC104 · 15/12/2020 08:41

@WhoUsedMyName did they ask you to come in? I literally just had it a little in the morning and that was it but overall my discharge has increased quite a bit

WhoUsedMyName · 15/12/2020 08:43

No I had an appointment anyway but do a google at pictures loads look like that

WhoUsedMyName · 15/12/2020 09:10

@MeganC104 I've been Googling i know I shouldn't but actually what we had seem really common mine have always been abit bloody and thick

MeganC104 · 15/12/2020 09:24

@WhoUsedMyName mine hasn't been bloody but it does look a bit like the ones where it says it could be mucus plug. Good luck at appointment and let me know what they say.

WhoUsedMyName · 15/12/2020 09:26

I will do,so the mucus plug and bloody show are completely different things mind blown lol

funtimestobehad · 15/12/2020 12:30

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been too active on this thread.

I have just found out that I have tested positive for Strep B and will have to have antibiotics during labour. Does anyone have any experience of this who can tell me what to expect? How will labour be restricted as a result? Or how long is normal to be kept in hospital after?

Thank you so much...

Grumpy19 · 15/12/2020 18:06

@WhoUsedMyName how did you get on at the mw? What was her view on the growth chart?

@funtimestobehad, sorry I have no advice but could you phone your mw to discuss your concerns?

WhoUsedMyName · 15/12/2020 19:42

@Grumpy19 awful, after seeing my mw I got sent to hospital monitored and to see a consultant I have to be monitored twice a week and a scan in two weeks then If he's gone up again I have to have a c-section

Grumpy19 · 15/12/2020 19:52

Oh gosh @WhoUsedMyName, I really wasn't expecting that! Sorry to hear you've had such a stressful time. Sorry for my ignorance but why are they monitoring you so regularly?

WhoUsedMyName · 15/12/2020 19:56

Reduced movement but could be down to his size?
It's thrown me I've not had problems with the others. I saw two doctors today and they are talking about if I go into labour naturally shoulder dystocia and that's scared me
