@ew1990 18+4 now, the midwife did listen in for the heartbeat in the end, she found it straight away which was great! She will be my midwive through out, has put me on the ftm pathway for appointments so my next one is at 25 weeks, and said if I ever wanted to to just ring up and if she can fit me in she will see me at the end of the day for a listen in.

@RosieJess91 yay for another boy! Have they given you any advice on a low lying placenta? Love the name Harry, good that you had one you both agree on. We are still struggling for boy names, I don't think I can quite believe I've got a little boy in my tummy.

Great you're getting so much movement now @SkyBlue20, I think with an anterior placenta they take longer to come but then are bigger. I'm getting movement everyday now, but they are tiny kicks, I didnt have anything like it with my daughter as my placenta was anterior so she was much bigger by the time I felt her.

@starfish762 how funny your daughter has started asking for a sibling, how old is she?

Starfish762 · 10/11/2020 21:43

@Workingmama1 she’s 3.5 but acts like a 5 year old, so clever & sassy we call her the tornado 😂 We’ve been so careful not to talk about it when she’s awake so it’s very spooky! Did you only mention to DD recently then? Not sure if I could wait till 18w, but am thinking 12w is prob too soon! Also said we’d prob tell friends etc but it feels so wrong people knowing but not DD. I’m overthinking it all as per, and getting WAY ahead of myself 🙈

ew1990 · 10/11/2020 21:44

@workingmama so glad you heard it and they are looking after you! I wish I was having a 25 week apointment. Although at my 20 week scan the doctor did say to please ring up if I was worried about anything at all xx

RosieJess91 · 10/11/2020 22:03

@Workingmama1 just said I'd have to come back for another scan at 32 weeks and if they can't tell, I may have to have an internal scan. Said they usually move by themselves as you grow. But if it doesn't, I may have to have a c-section. But it might be why I'm so uncomfortable and by 3o weeks I should avoid sex, because it could cause a bleed.
My OH, when he found out it was another boy, said we'd have to jump straight back into it after having this one to finally get our girl! 😂😂

Sakura54 · 11/11/2020 11:38

@RosieJess91 That’s lovely. Brothers! Good that you have a name already. I just had to google about placentas. Interesting you have to wait that long to get scanned because as you say it could mean CS and you won’t know until so far on. How would you feel about a ELCS? I think on here it’s just me and @Threnody who have had CS that I’m aware of, although mine was an EMCS.

@Starfish762 Your DD is nearly the same age as my boy (3y 3m). He’ll be 3y 7m when baby comes (same age gap as him and my nephew) which is somewhat old enough to understand. He interacts with my bump sometimes without me even saying anything. I told him after my 20w scan and that way I could tell him that it’ll be a baby sister. Hoping it won’t be too big of a shock for him when this baby actually appears! Feel kinda sorry for him really.

So even though I’m still small, I feel heavy these days especially when so bloated and it’s getting awkward to bend down. You guys feel the same?

OP posts:
bubblybon20 · 11/11/2020 16:38

@Sakura54 yessss! Defiantly have that heavy feeling! I feel so uncomfortable already! Although he must have moved up loads, as I keep getting awful heartburn especially at night I find I've been waking up the past week with a sore throat it's that bad 😫😫

bubblybon20 · 11/11/2020 16:48

Also, I know not many have brought any items yet; but has anyone noticed that there is hardly any 0-3 bodysuits in the supermarkets or online! Every single size and pattern is pretty much sold out on Asda. And other shops don't have any white bodysuits in! 😫 hoping it sorts out soon although if we stay in lockdown longer I can't see there been much hope of getting hold of them!

Pugprincess · 11/11/2020 17:20

Hi all sorry I’ve been quiet. I’m off work until Monday now as we have had so many cases at school so it’s being deep cleaned. How are you doing @DanceM1?

Had such bad wind recently. Woke up in the night and couldn’t get up for a good 15 mins as pain was so bad! Needed a wee too so that was awkward. Had some lower back pain on my left just now and in groin and down one leg a bit. Just constantly anxious 😥 I’ve been feeling little kicks and movements I think but I do wish they would get stronger as sometimes I hardly feel them or I’m not sure if it was baby or a muscle twitch 😩 xx

Starfish762 · 11/11/2020 18:41

@Sakura54 how spooky they’re so close! My daughter is actually just shy of 3y4m so they must be very close 🙂 Did you not find it hard waiting till 20w? That’s what I’d like to do but it’s already difficult trying to explain why she has to be careful around me & I can’t pick her up much or throw her about. I know it’s probably the best thing to do to wait as long as poss.

@Pugprincess sorry you’re struggling. Try to have a chilled day tomorrow if you can, make the most of being off work. Go for a walk, listen to a funny podcast or watch something, listen to music etc. Hope you feel better soon xx

DanceM1 · 11/11/2020 18:58

Hi everyone. Sorry ive been a bit quiet, not had any energy to think. Im feeling a little better today I think. Still have a bad cough and I'm completely exhausted but no temperature now and generally speaking, my breathing is better. Hopefully I will just keep getting better from here!

For anyone that is not working from home currently, a friend of mine (another primary school teacher) has been told by her midwife that she should wfh from 28 weeks. I wonder what my mw will say!
@pugprincess bless you that doesnt sound fun. Im sure its fine though and just "one if those pregnancy things". Ive been having lots of aches and pains this week but i feel like im stretching so hoping its just that! Baby is still wriggling about nicely 🥰🙏🤞 let's just hope that continues!

Pugprincess · 11/11/2020 19:29

Aww good to hear from you @DanceM1 I have been thinking of you. How high did the temp get? I think mines mostly wind 😩 still trumping and feeling pockets of air bubbling about. I’m leaning more towards wfh if given the option after 28 weeks with their being so many cases at my school. We have had 7 just since this weekend! It’s far too risky. I think you still should too as there’s a chance you can catch this twice isn’t there?

Thank you @Starfish762. Planning to chill but unfortunately have to go to the opticians as I’m out of lenses and they won’t give me more until I have my review and eye test 😩 last thing I want is someone so close to my face 🤦🏼‍♀️ Bugger I’ve still forgotten to tell them I’m pregnant 🤦🏼‍♀️

ew1990 · 11/11/2020 19:31

@pugprincess sorry your feeling rubbish, hope you feel better soon.

@dancem1 hope your ok? I'm scared of catching covid to be honest.

Had a letter today with a prescription coz my urine sample I gave them 3 weeks ago shows I have a uti. 3 weeks untreated is a bit long I think. Just picked them up so will start them asap.

Any new bump pictures? I love seeing them

Lollol86 · 11/11/2020 20:12

I had my 16 week midwife appointment today over the phone and literally had a break down in tears telling her how I'm feeling with not even knowing if baby is still ok. She got me to go in to listen to babies heartbeat for reassurance. Bless her thought that was really nice of her.

Im so tired and suffering really bad with daily headaches, anyone else still feeling rubbish?

My work told us all today that we will be working from home until at least the end of March so I definitely won't be going back before may leave.

Anyway I hope everyone is ok? Xx

Poppy10121 · 11/11/2020 20:38

@Lollol86 how nice of your midwife! It makes such a difference when you get someone who really cares.

I’ve been having some awful headaches, had to take some days off work as I can’t do anything but lie down in the dark. One week to go til my 20 week scan, I’ve still not felt any movements yet so hoping everything is ok. Like lots of you I’m still feeling quite detached out of fear, I’ve not bought anything except maternity clothes and even that feels almost too much too soon!

Hope everyone else is doing better, sorry my memory’s gone to 💩 and I can’t remember whose said what by the time I catch up reading! Xx

Workingmama1 · 11/11/2020 20:47

Aww @lollol86 its so hard not knowing what is going on isn't it! How nice of your midwife getting you to come in, I hope it did reassure you a bit. I'm also getting a lot of headaches, I had put it down to dehydration but I've been making a conscious effort to drink more (cue multiple wees!) and I don't think its that, just another jouful pregnancy symptom I think!

I feel like my bump is growing at an alarming rate, I clearly have zero abs nowdays! This was this evening at 18+5, its still bigger in the evening so must be one part bloat still 🤣

@ew1990 that is so bad it took them 3 weeks to sort out a prescription! A UTI left that long could have been serious! Did you have any symptoms?

@danceM1 hopefully you are starting to turn a corner and be on the mend 🤞

@Starfish762 we only really told my daughter after our gender scan at 17 weeks, she's not quite 2 so we could talk about it when she was around without her really cottoning on, but have now started talking about the "baby in mummy's tummy", plus as you can see on the picture my bump is pretty noticeable! It is very cute when she speaks about a baby, I'm just hoping all is ok at my 20 week scan next week, she wouldn't be upset as she's not fully grasped it, but it would break my heart if we had to correct her about there not being a baby anymore as she wouldn't understand so would keep talking about it. Unfortunately she is too young to understand I'm not supposed to be lifting or carrying her much (especially with a hematoma!).

Lollol86 · 11/11/2020 21:03

@Poppy10121 headaches are just awful aren't they. I find even paracetamol don't take the pain away.
How exciting for your scan, are you going to find out what you are having?
I'm have a private scan on Saturday xx

@Workingmama1 mines definitely not due to dehydration, I drink so much water.
I'm very lucky to have a midwife that actually cares, she gave me some information about mind in pregnancy and referring myself of my anxiety doesn't ease.
Your bump is beautiful, when the midwife felt my tummy to find baby she said you have a good size baby, I said good as in big 😂 she laughed and said no as I'm not too big and not too small. Xx

SkyBlue20 · 11/11/2020 21:05

@bubblybon20 M&S and John Lewis have lots of white sleep suits etc in - a bit more expensive but they’ve been recommended to me time and time again, friends say they’re really soft and wash well. I’m planning on doing a bulk order but waiting for Black Friday on the off chance they get discounted 🤞🏼Baby has SO many other clothes for up to three months now though - my mum went mad shopping (first grandchild) and I’ve bought a fair few bits, so just need to get the sleepsuits and vests and then I think she’s sorted for a while!
@DanceM1 Glad you seem to be on the mend, hope you get better and better quickly!

@Lollol86 How lovely of your midwife, I’m glad you got to hear baby 💕

@Workingmama1 Bump is looking fab!

My bump has grown so much this week, will try and take a pic later/in the morning and post it. It’s really noticeable now even when I’m in my baggy jumpers.

Had a bit of a hormonal breakdown before when making dinner, DH came in to the kitchen to find me bawling my eyes out as making dinner just felt so overwhelming and I’d burnt the bottom of a pan, burnt my finger and forgot to put the garlic in. He’s usually the cook in our house but I’m not normally that bad! Think he regrets leaving me to it for an hour 😂 It was actually fine in the end but my hormones were clearly just raging, the joys of pregnancy 🙈

Baby girl has been quiet again today but I’ve felt her a few times so she’s still wriggling about, just reminding myself that she’s still so tiny that even moving position a little bit will affect how much I can feel. What a rollercoaster pregnancy is! Bring on March.

bubblybon20 · 11/11/2020 21:15

@SkyBlue20 I didn't even think to check John Lewis! Will defo take a look Thankyou! 😀
I am also waiting for a few deals, have seen a playmat on mamas and papas I love reduced from £80 to £40 so hoping it's still in the sale next Friday when I get paid! 😍
Defo sounds like you've a bit, so easy to go crazy on buying baby clothes I find as they're just so so cute! 😍😍

SkyBlue20 · 11/11/2020 21:27

@bubblybon20 They’re SO cute, aren’t they?! I’ve been sensible and it’s all baby grows and leggings but I just couldn’t resist so many bits - she has a better wardrobe than me 😂
I’ve got a basket full on Mamas & Papas, too - also including what could be the same play mat, it’s lovely! - just need to go over it all with DH and see what we really need. Also waiting to hear from their customer service as at our personal shopping appt for the pram they said you get vouchers if you spend over a certain amount but if we ended up ordering online due to lockdown (which we did) then to email and ask for the voucher so I’m hoping that comes through soon, will be like £100 I think so a big help! 🤞🏼

Lollol86 · 11/11/2020 21:38

@SkyBlue20 oh bless you, i get random outbursts it's ridiculous. I laugh at myself as I'm crying as I have no idea what is going on or what I'm even crying about 😂 I hope you are ok though xx

ew1990 · 11/11/2020 21:42

@workingmama1 no no symptoms. Just weeing a lot more but put that down to pregnancy.

@skyblue20 @bubblybon20 got drawers full of first size and 0-3 vests and sleepsuit so I'm ok on the clothes front. Still need to decide on a pram though.

Bump pic from me. Feel like I'm massive now 😂😂

bubblybon20 · 11/11/2020 21:43

@SkyBlue20 haha it's all so exciting! 😀

And yeah most likely is the same one then! I just think it's so nice, ah that'll be really handy if you do get some vouchers to spend! Especially if you've got a basket full too 🤪

bubblybon20 · 11/11/2020 21:43

Lovely bump pics @Workingmama1 @ew1990 😍 il have to try get one tomorrow!

bubblybon20 · 11/11/2020 21:45

Actually I took this Friday! 😆 feel more rounded now, which is good! 🤣

SkyBlue20 · 11/11/2020 21:52

@Lollol86 That was me the other day, I was watching something on TV and bawling but laughing at the same time as it was so unlike me! I’m ok now, thank you - we watched some Grand Designs (we got obsessed over lockdown!) and I had a cuddle with the cat and feeling a bit more normal now.

@ew1990 @bubblybon20 bumps are looking great! I’m so amazed at how we’re at this stage already, it really does feel like it’s gone so quickly since this thread (well the first of these threads) started and we were about six weeks gone!
