Welcome new ladies.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and having a nice break.

@Smilingdonkey You mean the helpline with loads of 9’s? That hasn’t been working for a while I think, the mailbox is apparently full. I know because my brother wasn’t able to get through to arrange booking appt and I also tried it for him and then found him a different number. The MAU seemed to be fine with me calling the other day but hopefully I won’t need to call again.

@DanceM1 It sounds like wee to me, as opposed to waters leaking. The little dribble happens to me sometimes too upon standing after weeing. I’ve never done kegels, but probably should start. It doesn’t happen before weeing despite my bladder getting kicked regularly which is getting quite ridiculous now. I’ll have to just endure it until baby comes out unless she proves me wrong and turns. Maybe yours is still breech too.

It’s a good thing I have an appt next week as I’m starting to think I may have a UTI due to the urgency and frequency sometimes of needing to wee, sharp, weird feeling down below and some cramping/aching or it might just be lightning crotch and baby and things pushing down.

For those of you in teaching or other public facing rules new guidance has come out for pregnant women. Its on the government website so it should be hard for employers to argue with
www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-advice-for-pregnant-employees/coronavirus-covid-19-advice-for-pregnant-employees

Smilingdonkey · 28/12/2020 15:24

@sakura54 yeah it's 02080909999 open 10-8pm. I managed to get though the other day ... I'll ask my midwife about it ... Xxx

Smilingdonkey · 28/12/2020 15:29

@workingmama1 that's great thanks for the link. I am only teaching my Y11s when I go back and supporting an NQT so my interaction with kids will be really reduced. 🤞 That will reduced my risk significantly as I teach in Havering which is currently Covid City!

DanceM1 · 28/12/2020 17:22

Thanks so much for the reassurance ladies. Its good to know im not the only one 🙈🤣 I nearly called triage yesterday as it happened a couple of times and I couldn't be certain it was bladder. But hasn't happened since yesterday lunch time now so I've stopped panicking. Think I made myself worse thinking about it. Also baby had a mad wriggle last night so maybe that has eased the pressure on my bladder today. Also the rocking/leaning forward on the loo tip was great! God..the things we worry about. Honestly I convinced myself my waters must have broken yesterday and was all in a flap. Will speak to my midwife on Thursday about it but unless it comes back with a vengeance I will wait until then.

@Workingmama1 thanks for that. Im feeling lucky that ill be out of class now after Christmas but good to have that guidance as extra support!

How is everyone else doing? @SkyBlue20 I meant to say the other day, Aria is one of my favourite names, its beautiful 😍 . Unfortunately my husband won't let me have it!

My friend told me off today for not having a hospital bag packed already so I've decided to order a few vests/sleepsuits etc so that we have a few things prepared. Still feel anxious when I let myself get too excited.. especially after all my worrying yesterday 🤦‍♀️

Pugprincess · 28/12/2020 19:36

Thanks @Workingmama1 I'm going to contact my head teacher to ask him to reassess my circumstances as I am feeling worried and primary schools are still meant to be going back on the 4th. I only have 3 weeks left and then I will be working from home so I'm hoping they can bring that forward even if it's temporarily on reduced hours and pay. Anything to keep baby safe.

Nursery work commenced today! We have emptied the room and DH has begun stripping the wall paper. It definitely needs replastering and he will need to remove carpet and skirting boards. X

@Pugprincess exciting to be preparing the nursery! We gave the decorators coming in the middle of Jan, have the wallpaper sorted but need to pick a paint.

Baby has been quiet today, I'm still feeling movements but nothing like the last few days. Not sure if he was super active then or quiet now, but it's a stark contrast which is concerning me a bit...

@danceM1 hospital bag packing must make it feel real! I'm a few weeks off that I think but might get one for me started around 30 weeks

bubblybon20 · 29/12/2020 10:30

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! 🎄

I'm feeling really anxious the past few days, whether it's because Christmas Day is over, and my due date is just over 8 weeks.. just the panic that I've not got hardly anything organised 😫😂 just kind of feels really real if that makes sense, although I know 8 weeks is quite a while but my sons currently on the countdown until his birthday so that's about 2 weeks gone 😫 honestly you wouldn't believe this is my 3rd, but 6 years is a long gap inbetween feel all new 😂😂😂😂

SkyBlue20 · 29/12/2020 10:45

Morning all!

@Workingmama1 Great that the gov has FINALLY released some guidance on that, hope it helps a lot of people to stand up for themselves.
Has baby gotten a bit more active today?

Thanks, @DanceM1, I do love the name! Exciting about the hospital bag! I wasn’t going to start shopping for mine (I have pretty much everything for baby’s) until the new year but I think we’re likely to go in to lockdown, or at least tier 4, in the next couple of days, so going to pop to Primark tomorrow to start getting some bits like big pants and nighties. Everything else I can order online I suppose!

@Pugprincess How exciting getting started on the nursery! We’re decorating ours today, I can’t wait!

@bubblybon20 Completely understandable that you might be anxious - eight weeks isn’t that long in the grand scheme of things! What do you still need to organise? Get yourself a list written up, it’ll help clear your head a little.

Baby has had a couple of quiet days again but a bit more active this morning. Her movements are so light now though that I could feasibly be missing a lot of them - she must have changed position and my app did also say that as they get bigger the feelings might be less pronounced as they run out of space. Feeling a bit like I’ve been hit by a bus this morning, too - super tired and my nausea has come back 😫 Roll on the next 10.5 weeks!

Does everyone have nice (presumably at-home) plans for NYE? It’s our wedding anniversary so trying to make it extra special but we’re basically going to stay in with a load of nice M&S food, (more) leftover cheese, (fake) fizz and our wedding playlist I think.

Hope everyone is doing ok xx

Threnody · 29/12/2020 11:16

@Workingmama1 have you had more movements? Once you're over 24 weeks, if you are worried about any change in your baby's movements, always call your midwife, they should get you in to check everything is ok.

@SkyBlue20 please ignore the app, babies do not move less as they get bigger, and do not run out of space. Check out www.kickscount.org.uk/.

@Pugprincess exciting to be doing the nursery!

@bubblybon20 sorry you're feeling anxious. Not long to go now, I second the idea of a list.

17 weeks today! Not feeling a lot of movement, but the odd flutter, hoping it picks up soon so I can stop worrying as much.

SkyBlue20 · 29/12/2020 11:35

@Threnody Yes, I might have worded that wrongly - she’s not moving less, the number of movements are the same, the movements are just different, as they have been many times, presumably due to her position. I know they don’t move less even towards the end. It’s a lot more wriggles and light hits rather than huge heavy kicks (though do still get some of them just not as many).

SkyBlue20 · 29/12/2020 11:36

(Have also spent a LOT of time on Kicks Count over the last 7 weeks or so - it’s pretty much my bible by this point 😂🙈, I even have one of the bracelets!)

SkyBlue20 · 29/12/2020 11:46

This words it better than I can ☺️

@Pugprincess how exciting, looks like a big project! We just did this with our spare room and it’s so nice now it’s done! I love how your pet is photobombing too 😄

@SkyBlue20 I also spend a lot of time on Kicks Count and have downloaded the app! I have such variation in the force of movements like you - on Christmas Day he felt like a little footballer and I could see my belly move but the last few days I’ve still felt things every few hours but much fainter and I think if I was walking around or busy I wouldnt notice so much. I really thought by now I’d be feeling less anxious about it but think the anterior placenta can’t help!

Threnody · 29/12/2020 12:55

@SkyBlue20 👍

bubblybon20 · 29/12/2020 12:56

@SkyBlue20 my movements slowed down quite a bit from 28 weeks until now.. But it says that from week 32 even though there is less room il probably feel him a lot more as his obviously getting chunkier! As longs baby is moving the recommended amount! I noticed him moving every night between 10pm - 12! He would go crazy it then be really quiet during the day 😂😂

Starfish762 · 29/12/2020 13:51

@Threnody I’m 18+1 and not felt a thing yet, I’m just wishing time away for 20w scan & movements. Time goes slow in tier 4 🤣

DanceM1 · 29/12/2020 19:27

@Pugprincess @SkyBlue20 how exciting about the nurseries!! Please show us pics when you're done. We're having things collected over the next couple of weeks that need getting rid of then we will be able to do ours.

I'm going to order stuff online @skyBlue I can't face the shops at the moment. Your new years plan sounds lovely. We are just going to get a takeaway and chill out here. Not overly exciting but im actually quite glad to do that!

@bubblybon20 I've also been very anxious lately. Dont know if its the time of year like you say but I've started panicking about silly things (I hope they're silly anyway). I keep convincing myself things are wrong then I relax and realise I'm being stupid... then I worry that I'm being too relaxed about things 🙈🤦‍♀️ its exhausting. I never used to be anxious like this! Really looking forward to seeing my midwife on Thursday just to get a few worries off my chest. Poor woman 🤣

Pugprincess · 29/12/2020 19:36

I'm with you all on feeling anxious. Ive felt baby today but last few hours have been quiet (I've been for a nap during that time but wasn't feeling much before sleep or just now since I've woken) see how it goes abit longer and then might call in if I'm still worried. Think I'm partly feeling extra paranoid because we have bought our pram and travel system today and got a Co sleeper ordered for delivery. Left pram with. MIL as I'm that superstitious x

Pugprincess · 29/12/2020 19:41

No nursery progress today unfortunately as shopping took our time and energy. Back on it tomorrow. That room really needs some work though our house is quite old and downstairs has been worked on and modernised by previous owners but the spare room is pretty much original. We expected the walls were going to be bad under the thick textured paper and we were right lol.

Think I'm feeling some light kicks. They have all been downward kicks today like in my cervix and towards my bum of that makes sense. I suspect baby is in a weird position x

Pugprincess · 29/12/2020 19:51

@DanceM1 the british heart foundation cant collect my bed until 9th Jan and if we go tier 4 that will be cancelled. What are you doing with your bits? Not sure what il do if it's cancelled as I could do with the space in my shed.

@SkyBlue20 think for nye we will just get a takeaway and chill at home. I've never been huge on nye anyway and I will most likely fall sleep before midnight 😂

@Poppy10121 do you mean the cat looking object? It's a black bag 😁 it really does look like I have a black cat though my mum and brother replied the same lol x

Poppy10121 · 29/12/2020 20:20

@Pugprincess haha no way!! It totally looked like a cat to me 😄
Hope you are feeling better and reassured with some movements now.

I just had the most babybrained moment yet, was cooking some skewers in the grill and went to turn them over without putting on an oven glove (metal skewers!) so now sitting with my hand on ice. What an idiot! I swear this baby is stealing all my brain cells!

Pugprincess · 30/12/2020 03:54

@Poppy10121 ouchhh hope youre doing better now. I swear I've gone to do the same thing, pick up a hot tray without gloves but so far managed to stop myself. Yh I am somewhat reassured but would like more and stronger just to be sure. Constant worry isn't it x

TerriRose99 · 30/12/2020 04:38

Hi ladies I had a mmc and d&c for the same pregnancy (started to hemmorage so had to to save my life) on the 5/11/20 then ovulated at my two week check up on the 18/11/20 and got my bfp on the 3/12/20. I went for my first scan yesterday at 7 weeks five days and was told baby is measuring 5 weeks which is impossible as my dates are exact and were confirmed by my doctor. Baby's heart beat was 119 bpm right where it should be for 7 - 8 weeks according to my gp but I'm just concerned about the size. Will beanie be okay?

SkyBlue20 · 30/12/2020 10:04

Exactly the same here, @Poppy10121! I’m learning it’s just her way now though. I’m not worried at the moment as she has been active - in fact this morning she was REALLY active, my husband was like 😱 at how much he could see and feel - but it does vary in how strong/faint it is through the day(s). The anterior placenta is so annoying, isn’t it?! Just another added stress.
Hope your hand is ok today!

@Pugprincess I completely get what you mean about being anxious when you do something big - we painted the nursery yesterday and my brain kept going ‘but what if it goes wrong and then the nursery will be a constant reminder? You’ll have to paint it back to how it was!’ and it’s just impossible to stop thinking like that as much as I try! I tried to remind myself though that I automatically assume that everyone in this group will have a successful pregnancy and I’ve thought the same of all of my friends/family who have been pregnant, so why wouldn’t I expect the same for myself?!

@TerriRose99 I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’m afraid it’s impossible to say - they’re so tiny at that stage that measuring is difficult. Have they told you to go back for a follow up scan? I’m so sorry, the wait is awful. Sending lots of love and strength xx
