@Sakura54 I agree with you but I asked yesterday and apparently partners can only stay a short time after and then they get a daily visiting slot. I've been advised to stay in for first 24 hours with me being a FTM and my medication can make baby a bit jittery which can affect feeds and therefore they want to monitor that and blood sugar levels and temperature. I think you are right about not leaving them alone but I spoke to another friend and she said when on a ward she saw other ladies go toilet and leave their babies, I personally don't feel comfortable to do that. So like you I will buzz. Friend said they were sometimes too busy to come though so she had to wait. I'm also getting breathless, I sound like I've been for a run after walking up the stairs especially if I try to talk rather than getting breath back 😅 My hearts always raced randomly so it's hard for me to know what's what there, I've noticed it sometimes happens after eating though like the sugars hitting me or things getting squished after a big meal. I suppose they have to tell you to get checked incase anything came back on them. I struggle with long walks and despite being on holiday from work I napped twice yesterday 🤣

Just had my bath. I saw my belly move a few times and felt some kicks I think. It's just different to how it's been recently. Like not feeling wriggles or squirms like I was, really feels like baby has moved further back as belly a bit softer too. X

I've not read the new messages yet but back from growth scan, she weighs about 2lb 7oz which is good they said, good amount of fluid and blood flow to placenta is good..

Couldnt see much as shes facing inwards and her head was pushed right up against my bladder 🙈

Starfish762 · 22/12/2020 21:44

Hi everyone - just read through about 7 pages I’d missed 😂 I hope everyone’s doing as well as they can be after the weekends sht sandwich! We were in T2 last Tues, went into T3 on Wed, then Sat BOOM brand new Tier 4 created just for us Southerners 🤣 I was in a shocking mood Sat & Sun I just couldn’t shake it off, but Mon woke up fine - lots to be thankful for & just going to live each day as it comes & try* not to overthink all the what ifs. I’m Northern but live down South so am gutted I won’t get to see my family at Christmas, after a year of barely seeing them. But we’ll make up for it when we can.

We went to Center Parcs last week which was AMAZING! First time at Christmas & just wow! DD had a nursery isolation 2 weeks before we went so we were SO lucky timing wise, then while we were there we changed from T2 to T3 (but they didn’t make us leave as were obv already there & midway through our hol), and the day after we got back we went into T4. SO jammy & very grateful, I’m hoping it was some good karma.

I’ve got my 16w MW apt at home tomorrow despite being in T4, so I think it’s true that this time round maternity care will remain no matter what the restrictions 🤞🏼 Really hope I get to hear the heartbeat. My bump is starting to come along but no movements yet (17+2) but I have anterior placenta. With DD I didn’t feel them till at least 22w, no idea if my placenta was anterior then (that’s bad not to know isn’t it, oops!)

@ew1990 sorry to hear about your sickness coming back, sounds rough.

@SkyBlue20 wow LOVE your maternity pics, lovely bump 😍

Sorry I’ve missed lots it took me forever to read through!

ew1990 · 22/12/2020 22:10

@rosiejess I really feel for you I've suffered anemia and B12 defiency for about 3 years and it makes you feel horrendous. I don't think people understand. For me it makes me feel so so tired, like some days walking upstairs takes so much effort.

My doctor told me once your body stops making B12 it doesnt make it again so ill be on tablets for the rest of my life. I did have the injections every 3 months but covid put a stop to that now i have to take 2 tablets a day Instead aswell as 3 iron tablets

ew1990 · 22/12/2020 22:11

@starfish Aww really hope you get to hear the heartbeat. 29 weeks end of this week and I've still not heard babies heartbeat x

RosieJess91 · 22/12/2020 23:17

@sakura54 ask to have your B12 checked, they only checked it because they wanted to rule it all out, otherwise they only check your iron levels. B12 has similar symptoms to anaemia and you sound similar to me!

@starfish762 I think you must be located fairly near to me, I imagine Portsmouth/Havant/Gosport way? They've all just had that jump from 2 to 3 to 4 within days. I'm Southampton, so just missed it! Still tier 2.

@ew1990 they haven't said that to me, just told me it could be pregnancy related and I might feel better afterwards. But said if the tablets haven't helped within 2 weeks, I'll have more tests taken and then they can see if it is pregnancy related or whether it's just me. In which case, I assume I'll then be on them for life...

ew1990 · 23/12/2020 00:00

@rosiejess glad your fi ally getting some answers though, hopefully it's just pregnancy related.

I cannot believe it's christmas in like 2 days! Where's the year gone, can't believe how much we've all been through! I know I don't really know you ladies but I'm bloody proud of us ❤️❤️

Pugprincess · 23/12/2020 00:23

Awwwww right back at you @ew1990 ❤️

Be great to keep this going even when babies are here. X

Starfish762 · 23/12/2020 06:45

@RosieJess91 I’m in Essex! We were obv in the wrong Tier when we were in T2 hence the dramatic changes within days, but it was still such a head f*#k!

@ew1990 I can’t believe it either! Doesn’t feel that Christmassy at all this year it’s just crazy. You’re right though, let’s end this crazy year feeling like queens for getting through it 💪🏽

SmileyT · 23/12/2020 07:11

@SkyBlue20 doing well thanks, just enjoying not having to go for dinners outside now we're in T4 😂 tbh I think because I've been working in the office throughout I've become a little bit numb to it, my office is relatively covid secure but still public facing and had two cases in the last month. I get the London Underground to work where some people don't wear masks which generally pisses me off aswell.

Ooh yeah definitely let me know how you get on with MW today, surely at some point they talk about how this baby is getting out 🙈 and yes baby will not stop moving, not sure he is going to be a big sleeper as he definitely seems to be awake more than he is asleep x

@DanceM1 @Workingmama1 unfortunately as guidance has changed to remove pregnant people from being clinically vulnerable work aren't interested in accommodating WFH which is frustrating as they say that they are sticking to the letter of the law as I am a 'key worker' my manager has basically said that it's because they can't afford laptops 😩

@Workingmama1 hope you are feeling better today and thanks for the link I'll have a proper read through (worried if I click on it I'll lose my post)👌🏾

@Sakura54 I thought of you when I got my grow chart... apparently that's why they start appts at 26 rather than 25 in my trust as that's when GROW charts start 🤷🏾‍♀️ oh god who wants to go to A&E at this time, hope all is okay, how are you feeling today? x

Can't believe it's so soon until many of you will be welcoming your little ones, so exciting 🥰

RosieJess91 · 23/12/2020 08:19

@starfish762 oh right, I hadn't heard of any other area suddenly having those changes other than London. Still, the government have made a right old mess of it, that's for sure!

SkyBlue20 · 23/12/2020 08:19

Oh, @Poppy10121, it must be so hard not being able to see your parents. I hope you can see them even if briefly at some point before baby arrives - they must be so eager to see you, too!

@Sakura54 I definitely have the breathlessness (have had it since really early on actually), some aches and the tiredness - I was so tired at 4pm yesterday that I could have cried. Your symptoms sound a lot worse though, if you’re feeling really rough, could you call maternity triage? Better safe than sorry!

@ew1990 Glad the growth scan went well and she’s growing as she should ☺️ I can’t believe Christmas is so soon, either, the year has FLOWN by. I’m super proud of us all, too - what a rollercoaster we’ve all been on but 2021 is definitely looking brighter with all of these lovely babies to look forward to 🥰

@Starfish762 Lovely to see you! Sorry you’re in tier 4 and can’t see your family 😔 Glad you had fun at Centre Parcs though, that sounds lovely! Hope the MW appt is ok today and they do a heartbeat listen in - it seems to vary trust to trust, mine didn’t do it until later than that.

@SmileyT Yes, can imagine you do become a bit numb to it all when you’re out and about as normal anyway. It would infuriate me how many people don’t wear masks on public transport, it’s so disrespectful to everybody else (unless exempt of course). I saw a post on FB yesterday where so many people were saying ‘wear your mask to protect yourself and stop moaning about others not wearing theirs’ and just wanted to bang their heads together - you wear your mask to protect others, not yourself! It’s so, so infuriating. (Sorry, rant over 😂)

Baby girl had a quiet day again yesterday but has been wriggling away this morning. Going to have a proper chat with my MW today about movements and what I should be looking out for etc - saying ‘a change in their pattern’ is of no use to me when her only pattern seems to be having quiet days and the occasional active one - and I’m very much the kind of person that needs proper rules and advice to guide me. Otherwise, all good here, so happy to be finishing work today, am ready for the break. Have some how filled up the Xmas break with plans but should be nice and chilled regardless - it’s mainly just walks and trips to the park as there’s not much else we can do so hope the weather holds out! Seeing my siblings (aged 7 and 4) tomorrow for the first time in about two months (we’re going to the park) , they don’t know about baby so will tell them, have no idea how they’re going to react! Probably won’t care 😂

SkyBlue20 · 23/12/2020 11:48

Just back from my MW appt, baby (bump) is plotting JUST above the 10th centile (like around 11/12%), which is obviously another thing for me to worry about. Asked the MW about my lack of movements too and she wasn't too reassuring, just said if ever I'm worried to call triage and they can monitor me, maybe book me in for scans, check blood flow to the placenta, etc. So now obviously I'm thinking I'll definitely have to ring next time I'm even a bit worried as my anxious brain is like 'could that blood flow be an issue?!' So yeah, not the most reassuring of appointments! Everything else looked good though and I'm back in three weeks. It was a 15min appt like normal but felt like I had a bit more time with her today in a strange way.
Anyone got any experience with plotting low on the growth chart?

ew1990 · 23/12/2020 12:33

@skyblue20 DD plotted just below the 10th centile from all my growth scans and measurements. As I've said before induced me early Coz she was only 4lb, was born at 6lb 7oz, x please try not to worry xx

bubblybon20 · 23/12/2020 21:42

Has anyone managed to choose a name for babies yet? I feel I'm struggling massively 😣😣 never knew how hard it was to choose another boys name, especially one that fits with my others! 😫 only 9ish weeks left.. and feeling panicked! 🤦🏻‍♀️

ew1990 · 23/12/2020 22:30

@bubblybon20 we've picked a name, surprisingly found this one easy. It was so hard naming DD

holypoop · 23/12/2020 22:42

Evening ladies,

Congratulations to you all.

I'm messaging for some reassurance.

I had a MC in March and knew straight away for obvious reasons.

I'm currently pregnant now, well hoping to still be. I went for a scan today measured CRL 0.6mm and 6.1weeks pregnancy though no heart beat to be seen. Now I'm panicking I've had a MMC.

I feel slightly nausea but never been sick and have loss of appetite. My boobs no longer feel sore but still feeling slightly fuller.

My question is has anyone been for a scan this early to find no heart beat but had a healthy pregnancy and baby? X

bubblybon20 · 23/12/2020 23:09

@ew1990 ahh glad you've managed to pick one! I never thought it would be this hard honestly 😂 9 weeks just doesn't seem long enough to fall in love with one 🤦🏻‍♀️

@holypoop I don't have the same experience, but I have read many people going to scans early and not picking up a heartbeat until a few days/weeks later! Honestly it's such a stress. But fingers crossed for you 🥰

JoJo58995 · 24/12/2020 09:24

@SkyBlue20 I'm sorry I havent had a chance to reply to your previous message - completely understand about everything just getting a bit much, its easy to forget just how much pressure we are under at the moment....it would be a lot anyway with Covid etc but we're pregnant and trying to manage that too. Hope you've been feeling a bit better. With regards to your measurements - my friend's baby was measuring very small so they monitored her closely towards the end and he was also born at about 6lb and is very healthy. It's too easy to say try not to worry because I would be exactly the same. The movement thing is a real challenge because they're all so different, and I agree I like to know what I'm expecting so if it is different then I know when to panic or not. I reckon next time she has a quiet day call them and get them to scan you, then you can hopefully get as much reassurance as possible as you go along? How has her movement been? Xx

ew1990 · 24/12/2020 09:46

@skyblue20 I also agree with jojo and think next time she has a quiet day ring up and get a scan, the consultant told me on Tuesday that any change in movement and ring straight up, I said its hard to know what her pattern is because sometimes she's turned and kicking into me and not out if you know what i mean and they said still ring up

SkyBlue20 · 24/12/2020 10:27

@ew1990 Thank you. I know it’s nothing to worry about really (it could just be bump measuring small but she’s not) but try telling my brain that! 😤

@bubblybon20 We decided on Aria. Trying to keep an open mind as she may not suit it when she’s here but would be weird if that’s not her name now as we call her it all the time!

@holypoop 6+1 is VERY early to see a heartbeat so try not to worry too much - you’re usually lucky if you see one at 7 weeks, 8 weeks is better. Hope it all goes ok for you xx

Thank you, @JoJo58995, I’m feeling much better at the mo, I think it all just came to a head but trying to embrace Xmas now and enjoy the next few days. Just doing some final wrapping then need to clean the house before we head off to the park to meet my dad and siblings - my siblings (7 and 4) don’t know about the baby so I think it’s time to tell them!

Yes, I think I will call next time she has a quiet day, I just need that reassurance now, it’s eating me up. I was all ready to call and go in this morning but then she had a really active morning, lots of rolling and movement - I even saw my whole belly like Mexican wave from one side to the other - so am seeing how she gets on for the rest of the day. Had a few movements not too long ago so just trying to be aware and pay a lot of attention as if I don’t, I don’t feel anything. This seems to be her only pattern though - two quiet days then an active one! At least if that continues then I know that’s just her way. I think that I need the reassurance either way though, my brain is trying really hard to catastrophize. Ahh it’s all so stressful!

Hope everyone is having a nice Xmas Eve so far xx

holypoop · 24/12/2020 10:32

@bubblybon20 @SkyBlue20
Thank you I'm hoping it is just too early but prepared for the bad news on the 3rd January.
I keep reading loads of things on the internet that 5.5-6 weeks is when you should hear I heart beat but then other info that it can be too early.

With my previous history I'm just expecting the worst.

Poppy10121 · 24/12/2020 10:49

@SkyBlue20 I’m the same, I get in such a panic when I don’t feel anything for a while. With the anterior placenta I think the movements are so dulled anyway it might be possible to miss them if busy doing other things but I’ve only felt a couple of kicks this morning and then nothing for hours. I really hope things improve over the next few days/weeks as I don’t want to go into the hospital at the moment, Covid cases are crazy round here. I hope you enjoy sharing your news with the family! 😊

ew1990 · 24/12/2020 11:00

@skyblue20 @poppy I know how you both feel, I've barely felt anything this morning but I've just put my hand on my belly and I can feel her wiggling about even though I can't feel her from the inside. The worry never goes away, even after they are born 😒.

Skyblue I hope you have a lovely day with your family, and i love the name aria

Sakura54 · 24/12/2020 11:42

@SmileyT I’m fine, thanks. Yeah your trust does sound like they do things differently with all these different appt weeks. I also had to call to request an extra appt as they were going to leave me for 6 weeks as I’m not a FTM, so they arranged one for 3 weeks after instead.

Thanks @RosieJess91 I will ask at my appt next week and hopefully do the blood test after. I’ll be monitoring it closely for now. My watch measures my heart rate and also has an ECG function lol. Not including moving a lot and going upstairs, I’ve noticed that I seem to get the breathlessness and heart palpitations mainly when I wake up, after eating and when tired. My heart rate keeps going over 100 just from moving around/eating which is why I called them.

@SkyBlue20 I don’t really have a MW or a direct number, only generic ones that didn’t pick up so it was triage that I called and who said to go A&E which I thought was a bit dramatic, but like
@Pugprincess said, they have to tell you to get checked out in case. The only time I felt rough was when I went for that walk and desperately needed to lie down. If I felt like that from doing nothing, then I'd be worried! Just the other day, I walked 30 mins to nursery plus my MW appt and didn’t get tired, but don’t think I can do that anymore.

What’s your fundal height? As long as there’s growth at the next appt, it should be ok. I think we should take these measurements with a pinch of salt. I mean mine isn’t even in the lines, higher than the highest centile ATM! My first baby came out around the 13th centile (5lb 6oz), but there was never any concern about his tiny size. I don’t know how much bigger he would’ve got if he had cooked longer.

Lol I remember before I assumed you had a 60 year sibling when you mentioned a 30 year age gap and was quietly thinking your dad must be over 80. Let us know how the kids respond!
