@dancem1 glad you went to be checked.

I'm due 12th march my mat leave starts the 8th march but I've got 2 weeks annual leave before then so I'll be 37 weeks when I go, that's the plan Upto now I can always ask to go a but earlier if I need too

Pugprincess · 06/12/2020 20:07

@Sakura54 thank you for your response XX

Well I’m back to work tomorrow as the girl tested negative luckily! Two weeks left like you say @DanceM1 can’t wait for Christmas. Was getting tired of child less Christmas’ when ttc all those years.

Not sure when I will take maternity. Do you have to set a date? As I will most likely be working from home I’m thinking I’d like to try and work right up until birth if I’m well. Xx

DanceM1 · 06/12/2020 20:23

@ew1990 thats handy you have annual leave. I was planning to work up to around 37 weeks too I think.

@Pugprincess perfect if you can be working from home! Can't remember about notice other than the MatB1 form. Im not sure! X

ew1990 · 06/12/2020 21:30

@pugprincess I had to tell them by week 25 when I wanted to take it and hand my matb1 form in. I've not heard anything yet though I'll chase them up in a couple of weeks,

If your working from home that's perfect to stay working up untill the birth or a week before. I worked till 37 week with DD and had her at 38+6 so didn't have much time off before

SkyBlue20 · 07/12/2020 11:19

Morning all!

Hope you all had good weekends?

@Pugprincess The fasting was difficult when I first woke up as I was starving and felt a bit sick with it but as I started getting ready etc, I found I kind of forgot about it. I took a bag of snacks and had a banana as soon as I got in the car afterwards and toast when I got home and all was ok. Was nowhere near as bad as I anticipated so try not to worry too much.
Glad the result was negative!

@DanceM1 Glad all was ok 🥰 Know what you mean about having a strong feeling about something - I honestly think sometimes you just know! I 'knew' I was going to have an anterior placenta from early on and I also 'knew' I was going to have had a MMC last pregnancy - I remember writing in a thread on here the day before my 12 week scan that I just had a feeling and well, the rest is history! Hope it's not true in your case though and you don't have it.
In terms of mat leave, I'm due 13th March so I'm going to start my leave from 1st March. I own a small business with a friend so don't want to go too early - I'm WFH and most of my work is done on email so hopefully will be fine. Also a bit concerned that if baby is late, I'll get really bored if I have too much time! Will take until the end of the year and go back in the Jan.

@Sakura54 Happy third trimester! I know I've said it before but I cannot believe how quickly this is going! I still remember being on the TTC thread and reading this one hoping to join it soon like it was yesterday and now here we are.

DH reminded me yesterday that it was around this time last year that we decided we would start trying for a baby. We initially said we'd start around March but then thought 'sod it, we'll start now', just in case it took a while or anything happened and I'm so glad we did. Despite everything that has happened this year with the MMC, I feel so lucky that just a year after deciding we'd start trying, I'm here, 26 weeks pregnant with what is looking like a healthy baby. So many people aren't that lucky so today I'm feeling grateful whilst still remembering baby number one 💕

Workingmama1 · 07/12/2020 11:33

@pugprincess hope the drive and day at work go ok today, good news the pupil tested positive. Not long until the school holidays for you at least!

@danceM1 I think I'm taking maternity leave (well holiday) at 37 weeks, I planned to go to 38 with my daughter and ended up finishing a few days earlier as there was talk of inducing me which thankfully didn't happen in the end. I went into labour at 40+3 so didn't have too long to wait, I actually loved my time off before she arrived, I just pottered around the house and took myself off on day trips and afternoon cinema visits. Might be less fun this time though thanks to covid...

I jad my first trip in for reduced movements yesterday, I'm only 22 weeks but been feeling regular movements for a few weeks and he was quiet yesterday, which combined with the fact I'd accidentally left my electric blanket on all night and woke up sweating, worried me something was up. They were lovely and found his heartbeat immediately and told me to always call if I'm concerned. They also did a urine sample and very embarrassingly the pot was a leaky one so it went all of the toilet floor and I had to give it to them with loads of tissue underneath to soak up the wee 🙈

Sakura54 · 07/12/2020 16:38

@DanceM1 I bet you’ll be fine. GD is a rare thing. I just have very bad luck when it comes to all these pregnancy issues. I’ll be gobsmacked if I don’t have GD.

Lol thanks @SkyBlue20 I remember you made the new thread then got your BFP straightaway! It’s so lovely that most of us got pregnant again so quickly. Same here, we also started trying last December! I had to look at my app to double check as it’s become a bit confusing with my first pregnancy, then MMC and then now.

@bubblybon20 Not sure if you’re still reading the thread but was your scan ok?

So I had my two appointments at hospital. Got there at 8am for GTT which finished after 11am then Birthing Options at 12pm, so had lunch in between. Remember how I wanted to cancel one as staying in hospital all day was too much, but then decided to just go to both and get DH to meet me for lunch and wait for me?

Well that didn’t go to plan as DH’s colleague got a temperature and a positive CV test, so DH suddenly left work to go self isolate alone at our house (we’ve been staying at my parents most of the time lately) and I booked him a test. He has no symptoms, but some key workers are instructed to get tested I think. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he had to run, yes run, to the test centre as he left his car/house keys indoors! Men, eh? Good thing he’s a fit guy and it was a somewhat local place (20 mins sprint) as there was no time to catch the bus.

Anyway, thankfully he got a negative result, so just have to wait and see if any of my family develop symptoms. Lame.

bubblybon20 · 07/12/2020 16:44

@Sakura54 yessss I am still reading daily and keeping up to date with everyone!

Scan went well, no heart problems for baby on scans, but they have booked my a post natal echo for him when his born!

Also they surprised me with my anti d injection! Haven't missed that 😂😂 and blood tests 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

That's everything now until his here! So scary to think that isn't it!!

bubblybon20 · 07/12/2020 16:46

@Sakura54 hopefully a negative test is a good sign that his had a lucky escape!

RosieJess91 · 07/12/2020 17:08

@DanceM1 yes, it was that high while resting. Stairs make me breathless. Been horrendous. My cardiologist called me today to discuss how I've been over the year. Didn't check any of my notes before he phoned, so he had no idea I was pregnant or that I had spoken to one of his colleagues only days ago...
He has suggested that I need to wear a heart monitor for 3 days to make sure that the baby isn't putting too much stress on my heart, and wants me to go in for an ECG ASAP. So that'll be fun! Sleeping while wearing a heart monitor is awful, wires coming off you everywhere. Great!!

Smilingdonkey · 07/12/2020 19:23

Hi all! Glad to hear everyone is ok and tests/scans are coming back good 👍
I've just found out my DD has no childcare for two weeks as the childminder's child has to isolate so that's a real bugger. Hopefully we sort things out so neither of us has to have too much time off school 😫 It's so disrupting. I'm so over COVID!

I was meant to be having GTT and 28w app and scan and consultant next week but I don't know if I can now as will have nobody to look after DD and I can't take her in ... Such a ballache!

Baby is moving so much these days - I'm really starting to feel exhausted now too! I'm going on Mat leave on 22nd Feb (after half-term) and baby is due 7th March so at 37 weeks. Last time I ended up at home waiting for over 5 weeks though as she was so late (42+2 in the end!) And I was so fed up by then! It was so boring and uncomfortable!

bubblybon20 · 07/12/2020 19:38

42+2!! @Smilingdonkey that is long, I felt fed up 41 weeks exactly with my first!!

Pugprincess · 07/12/2020 20:36

I know the feeling of being over covid. Got to school fine but then before lunch was told our bubbles closing today due to a dinner staff being positive so kids are off but I’ve still got to go in. Come out to my car to go home and got a flat tyre so I’ve had to abandon my car as it was too late to get to any tyre places by the time breakdown would have got to me. Bro in law is taking my wheel off and into his work tomorrow to fit a new tyre. Meanwhile I have no car to get to work and I’m about 14 miles away from school! Think I’m going to stay home tomorrow now as I’ve been so stressed today with everything going on and having little pains in my lower abdomen so think I need to take it easy. Babies kicking still and hoping it’s just growing stretching type things. Work will probably hate me I’ve missed so much time recently but what else can I do? Stressed

Pugprincess · 08/12/2020 07:29

I’ve called in so off today. Glad I have as feeling rough to be honest. Day of rest now. Hope everyone else is good XX

Pugprincess · 08/12/2020 10:36

I rang community midwife number and she said monitor pain over the next 24 hours and if it comes back ring the hospital and go get looked at. Could all be normal but they don’t like to take any chances. They are happy to hear babies active and I’m not in pain right now (it’s so active this morning feels like it’s doing an Irish jig 😅) She said it could have been down to the stress of yesterday. I’m hoping it’s just the growing pains of the ligaments. It wasn’t awful but constant for hours and noticeable. X

Lollol86 · 08/12/2020 14:09

@Pugprincess hope you are feeling better, I worry every little pain I get, it never gets easier xx

Pugprincess · 08/12/2020 17:20

Thanks @Lollol86 I had a bad stomach this morn with diarrhoea so called hospital but they said not to worry unless I got pain again. Think I’ve had the odd stabby needle type pain in side and lower back but I think it is muscular with the growing. Babies still kicking away. I hope you are ok XX

Poppy10121 · 08/12/2020 18:22

Just wanted to say hi! I've got a bit behind reading the last few days but glad to hear you are all doing well.

I'm 23 weeks now, have finally told my colleagues and ordered the pram, I am feeling much better about things since the 20 week scan and starting to feel some movements.

I am planning/hoping to work up until a week before my due date, as we are all WFH. I guess time will tell if it's realistic but we haven't started recruiting my cover yet at work so I think I'll probably have to do a lot of handover in the month before!

Sorry to hear about your stressful time @Pugprincess I hope you feel better after a day at home, work have to give you the time you need when pregnant so never feel bad about it.

DanceM1 · 08/12/2020 19:32

@Smilingdonkey I'm planning to do exactly the same.. mat leave from the end of half term and I'm due just 3 days before you ☺

@Pugprincess hope you're ok. Im sure its nothing to worry about and great that baby is so active. After my worry over reduced movements on Saturday, this little one (now known to us as wriggles) is incredibly active...especially when I'm supposed to be asleep... 10pm, 3am, 4am haha. I dont even care, I just love it!! Oh got my scan time as well for the 15th, its 11.35!

@RosieJess91 really hope you're ok! Im pretty sure my heart rate has been too high but hoping its within the normal pregnancy range and obviously I dont have a condition to worry about. Glad you managed to speak to somebody useful!!

@SkyBlue20 I had exactly the same feeling with my MMC. In fact, its why I booked a private scan as I was convinced something was wrong.

@Sakura54 hopefully you're right and I wont have GD! The thought of Christmas with no wine AND no chocolate is just too much 🤣🤣

Pugprincess · 08/12/2020 22:26

Thanks @Poppy10121 I wasn’t sure on the rules regarding pregnancy related time off. I’m going in tomorrow so will take things slow and see how I go. Feeling better.

There is no better feeling is there @DanceM1 🥰 so your scans only 45 mins after mine 🙂

Starfish762 · 09/12/2020 07:42

Morning ladies - Hope everyone’s okay. I moved house last Wed so have been rather busy! Feeling nice & settled now & luckily DD adapted straight away bless her. It’s been a stressful few weeks & lots has gone wrong (I won’t bore you with the details but the final 2 things that finished me off was DH bumping our car & DD’s nursery closing coz of a covid case 🙈). But we’re all well & so happy to be in our new home, and we have a Christmas tree now 🎄💚

I have another scan on Fri at 15+4 because of the hematoma worries, the brown blood/clots is still on & off. I’m just praying the hematoma has gone or at least shrunk. I’m gonna have to go alone though coz DD is isolating so DH has to stay home & watch her. I find it crazy that the whole household doesn’t have to isolate 🙈

@Pugprincess @RosieJess91 sorry you’ve both been feeling so rough, take it easy & definitely push for extra checks.

@Smilingdonkey sorry you have no childcare, it’s stressful! I’m in the same boat with DD’s nursery closed, it’s full on WFH with her here 😩 Think we only survived that for 3.5 months in lockdown 1 coz everyone was in the same boat & work was a lot quieter.

Hope everyone has a good day xx

MrsK21 · 09/12/2020 13:22

@Starfish762 good to hear from you though does sound like a manic few weeks!
Hope the scan goes well, is it a private one?

X

RosieJess91 · 09/12/2020 14:55

In the hospital now for my cardiac clinic, so when I leave here today, I will most likely know when/how I'll be giving birth. Whatever puts the least stress on my heart. That'll be fun!
My cardiologist thinks I'll be set for an early elective c-section, and I just think that'll be really odd to know exactly when my baby will be born.
Either way, all I know so far is that my blood pressure is fine for once and I have to wear an ECG monitor for 3 whole days....

SkyBlue20 · 09/12/2020 15:54

@Workingmama1 Glad all was ok after the reduced movements. They're little tinkers, aren't they, making us worry?!

@Sakura54 Glad your DH's test was negative, shame he missed the appts/lunch though!

@Smilingdonkey How frustrating about the isolating! I get why it has to be done but so inconvenient, wish people could just be tested instead of isolating 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Pugprincess Sounds likes you're having a rough time of it! You do whatever you need to look after yourself and bubba - your work have to be extra lenient when you're pregnant anyway. How're the pains today?

@Poppy10121 Yay, glad you're beginning to enjoy it a bit more. Which pram did you go for?

@Starfish762 Glad the move went well in the end and you're nice and settled now.

@RosieJess91 Hope your appointment went/is going well. It is weird to think you might have an exact date for baby to arrive! Let us know what they say.

I text my midwife before for the first time as I've had a really tender ankle on one leg for about six weeks now, meant to mention it to her at my last appt but forgot and just assumed it was fine (know carpel tunnel in the wrists can be bad in pregnancy so assumed something similar) but my feet have started swelling quite a lot, with the one with the sore ankle worse than the other, so started Googling (never Google) and read a lot about blood clots and deep vein thrombosis, etc. Figured I'd text rather than wait the next two weeks for my appt to ask in person, just in case. Am yet to hear back but I know she does her clinics on a Wednesday so likely been back to back. Probably nothing but better safe than sorry.

In addition to that, my mum has gone for a Covid test this morning as she has a cough - she thinks it's likely just a cold but better safe than sorry. DH and I saw her for a walk on Sat though so if it does come back positive, there's the chance we will have to isolate. I'm pretty sure it'll be fine though.

Baby girl has been moving quite a lot (for her) today - not kicks but more like rolls and other types of movements, which is new! I think she's getting bigger so I'm feeling more of what she's doing now. That said, I don't feel like I feel her that often - usually between two and five/six times a day for a few mins at a time - but love it when I do 🥰

Hope everyone is doing well!

RosieJess91 · 09/12/2020 17:51

Well, they didn't have time to do a scan today, so I have to go back on the 30th they will then check where my placenta is, if it's still covering my cervix, then I'll be having a c-section. If it isn't, they want me to try for a natural birth, or as close to natural as possible.

In the meantime, I've been told I have preeclampsia. So that's annoying!!!
