@RosieJess91 ah no what are the signs for preeclampsia? What do they do for it? How do you feel regarding c sec or vaginal delivery? Any preference? X

@SkyBlue20 thank you, the pains have been ok apart from a stabbing sciatica type pain in my left hip/back/bum and leg today. Reckon the weight is really starting to take its toll now. X

My covid test from Monday is negative so that’s good. Can’t remember if I said about school closing a day earlier now so 6 days left now 🙌🏻 Soooo ready for a break. Think I’m going in late tomorrow as had a long day today and I’m tired. Plus it’s not like my class are in 🤷🏼‍♀️

RosieJess91 · 09/12/2020 19:11

@Pugprincess protein in urine, and swollen hands, feet and legs. I had noticed my rings were stuck on my fingers, but hadn't really put much thought into it.

They want it to be as natural as possible because I can't have too many drugs. But they said if they notice at one of the growth scans that he isn't growing as much as he should, then I'll be rushed straight in for a c-section. I'm not too worried, they will do what they think is best.

Workingmama1 · 10/12/2020 07:53

Oh gosh @rosiejess91 you've had a week of it! 23 weeks is quite early for pre eclampsia is it? Are you just down for extra monitoring as a result? This is one of the reasons I think lack of face to face appointments in some areas is shocking, they are needed to pick up pre eclampsia and UTIs.

We've had a lovely week off so far, shame we haven't got away but have done some day trips and off to see Father Christmas again today.

Decorators are coming today now the builders are nearly finished so we can paint my daughters new bedroom, once she's out of her nursery we will look to get it ready for baby boy, I think it might start feeling real then!

@Pugprincess yay to a negative covid test and nearly at the end of term. Basically will be in the third trimester after Christmas!

Pugprincess · 10/12/2020 08:07

@Workingmama1 yessss and then I plan to work from home 🤞🏻 Think I only have about 3 weeks left after Xmas to attend school if I do wfh. I can’t wait to start our nursery too 😁 will send pics when we start and throughout process. X

Attached a pic of me in maternity leggings...soooo comfy. My large bras even feel too tight on the elastic under boobs now 🤨 and I bought a huge size aswell. Really tempted to go bra less for a bit lol is that bad 😂

Sakura54 · 10/12/2020 09:51

@bubblybon20 Yeah not long to go now. I’ve had 9 blood tests this year plus 3 injections and many more to come. I’m practically a pincushion.

Had my 28w app and guess what? I don’t have GD this time! Luck was on my side for once and I somehow managed to get away with it. I’ve literally been eating even more sweet stuff than usual in preparation for the bad news lol.

They measured me and said I’m the correct size for 28w (29cm) but on my Grow chart it’s been plotted as off the chart which doesn’t make sense, I mean how much smaller can someone be? Lol. I wasn’t supposed to eat much before my appt but didn’t want to be hungry and she measured the left side where the baby is always hanging out so my stomach was obvs bigger than when I wake up. Who has their Grow chart? Shall we compare?

@rosiejess oh how are they managing the pre eclampsia?

@sakura good news about the GD. I have a growth scan on the 22nd so once I've got my first one plotted on my growth chart id happily share it?

I had growth scans with DD and they induced me at 38+6 because they said her growth had slowed down and she was around 4lb, she was born at 6lb 7oz so nothing like they predicted. I got put through so much worry for nothing.

How's everyone doing? My morning sickness is really back and I've still got no appetite, I'm going to ask for some anti sickness tablets

bubblybon20 · 10/12/2020 10:21

@Sakura54 awful ain't they! Had injections/bloods everything!
And yay to not having GD this time around, bet that's such a relief for you!
That's so weird, my bump is massive but baby is measuring 27cm! They even said he'll be smaller than my others, got midwife appointments every 2 weeks now until his here which is quite nice as I haven't seen anyone since 8 weeks 😂😂

SkyBlue20 · 10/12/2020 12:30

@RosieJess91 Ahh sorry to hear about the pre-eclampsia! Good it's been caught early though and can be managed.

@Pugprincess Good news on the negative Covid test! Not long left in school now! I'm so ready to finish for Xmas. I have a half day tomorrow, a full week next week then three days the week after and I'm DONE. I'm only WFH but am just up to here with it all and definitely not being very productive even though I have so much to do!
Lovely bump and I feel you on the bras - I've bought three new sets so far, they just keep feeling too small so I have to swap again. Currently in H&M bralets and they're super comfy.

@Workingmama1 Glad you're having a good week off. Can't wait to see everyone's nurseries. Think we're going to decorate over the Xmas break but going to go to Ikea before then for the little bits we need as anticipate it'll be crazy busy when everyone is off work - we'll just go one evening in the week and hope for the best 🤞🏼 Is your daughter excited about her new room?

@Sakura54 Yay to no GD! Bump is looking lovely. I don't have my growth chart yet but only a couple of weeks until my 28 week appt so I imagine they'll start plotting it then? I don't really trust mine though as she had to put my ethnicity down as 'other' so it's just an arbitrary curve for it to follow 🤷🏻‍♀️ Plus DH is like 6ft 2in or something so she could be quite tall in there.

@ew1990 Sorry you're feeling so rough again 😔

All good here. Got a maternity shoot tomorrow with a local photographer. She did us some lockdown doorstep pics and her style is really understated, natural and cool, so we wanted to go with her. It's a bit early but it's our wedding anniversary in a few weeks and we wanted to announce the pregnancy on FB on that date, so figured we'd get them done now rather than wait until the new year. I have absolutely no idea what to wear though, I'm usually a skinny jeans, loose jumper and ankle boots kinda gal but obviously need to wear something tight to show off the bump! Must do a trying on session this evening 🤷🏻‍♀️

DanceM1 · 10/12/2020 17:23

@RosieJess91 sorry you've had a bit of a rubbish time. At least with them knowing about the pre-eclampsia they can keep a really good eye on you!

@Pugprincess I'm jealous... I was really hoping my boobs would have grown much more by now 🤣🤣

I'm 28 weeks today 🥳🥳 Had my GTT (which wasn't the 2.5 hour one like I was told). They couldn't get blood at all though.. good job im not bothered by needles! They tried both arms, my hand... no blood whatsoever! Had to be sent to phlebotomy (not sure how to spell?!) And even they couldn't get it straight away 🤣

Then had my 28 week appointment with the midwife this afternoon. Didn't actually look what baby is measuring but she said its looking good and plotted it perfectly in the middle of the two lines on the graph. Suppose the growth scan on Tuesday will tell me more! Also asked her about being in work now after 28 weeks and she said all pregnant women should be working from home and that is what all the midwives are doing. Im going to have to speak to work and see if I can wfh even a bit later on in the pregnancy. Just don't want to put baby at any risk and also, even if a child at school tests positive and I have to isolate late on, I'd be worried about missing appointments and missing out on monitoring. But we will just have to see!

@Sakura54 Great news about your GTT!! Hope this doesn't mean im the one that has it now 🤣🙈

Workingmama1 · 10/12/2020 20:02

@DanceM1 @Pugprincess this is interesting reading for you www.hse.gov.uk/coronavirus/working-safely/protect-people.htm?utm_source=govdelivery&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=coronavirus&utm_term=more-2&utm_content=digest-10-jul-20#pregnant_workers I had assumed pregnant women were like everyone else in the vulnerable group without much protection, but it seems there are specific measures and you can work from home or be suspended on full pay of wfh is not an option

I had a nap for the first time in ages today, and felt worse after it!

@skyblue20 enjoy your maternity shoot, it'll will be wonderful to have those photos to treasure forever. I didnt do one last time but considering it this time.

@sakura54 great news about no GD!

Dipsy77 · 11/12/2020 06:22

Got the news I Have GD yesterday I'm gutted especially with Christmas and all the chocolate I have in. I'm not usually a sweet person but my craving is chocolate !. I didn't have it last year with DD. I suppose I have had symptoms frequent loo trips that hasn't let up since first trimester, really thirsty and very dry mouth but put them down to pregnancy. I have to go pick my kit up from hospital today, don't think it's sunk in yet but will when I have to get bloods.
I'm not looking forward to having to prep my own meals plus sorting out 1 year old I feel like I'm in a nightmare at the minute just really hoping I can keep it under control x

RosieJess91 · 11/12/2020 08:06

I wasn't told it was early, plus I'm 24+2 now, they said there wasn't a lot they could do except monitor it because I'm already on medication to keep my blood pressure down. So I'll just have extra monitoring and 4 weekly scans.

Sorry to hear about your GD @Dipsy77 that's rather rubbish as well 😞

Sakura54 · 11/12/2020 12:26

@RosieJess91 Pre-eclampsia!? Is it mild? I always thought it was an urgent thing to have. I guess knowing the DOB is kinda odd, but that’s fine by me lol can be nice and prepared.

Sorry @Dipsy77 I know how upsetting it is. Did they tell you what your numbers were? Despite what I said, it’s not actually that bad doing the testing as people get used to it, just a bit of a faff. I was just being a wuss that’s why it was bad. If you don’t eat much sugar anyway, it does make things easier and hopefully your readings will stay within limit just with diet control. Let us know how you get on. It’ll be ok. When are you getting a date for your CS?

@SkyBlue20 That’s cute. I’d like to see some of your pics (with your face scribbled out of course lol).

@bubblybon20 Hmm yeah that’s odd, maybe bumps shrink a lot when you lie down. Does yours? What centile did they plot you at? That’s so good you have loads of appts. Are you classed as high risk now?

Can you believe they tried to not see me for 6 weeks? My results for everything (extra scans, bloods, BP etc) keep coming out good, but there’s no way I’m going to wait until 34w with nothing discussed and written down, because I’m scared as it is of another premature labour. I couldn’t think straight as I was leaving when she told me my next appt and the whole thing was just rushed so I called after I had looked at my notes. Anyway they’ve agreed to see me in 3 weeks. They are closed so it has to be at the hospital and weirdly on a Saturday.

OP posts:
bubblybon20 · 11/12/2020 12:34

@Sakura54 maybe they do! I can see him so much when I lie down, like where he is! It's so weird! And not sure actually, will have to double check! I don't think so, she just said it's to check blood pressure and babies heart rate, and stuff! Maybe if his measuring small theyll want to keep an eye! X

I think 6 weeks is a long time to wait now, in between especially as you've history of premature labour! You'd think they'd want to keep seeing you regularly! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Dipsy77 · 11/12/2020 13:36

@Sakura54 it was 9.8 after the drink. Yea I'm a total wuss with needles so my oh is going to do it for me. I get my csection date at my 32 week appointment. It will most likely be when I'm 37 weeks so I've only got 10 weeks of this before I pig out in peanut m and ms I'm going to buy the biggest bag you can get lol x

Threnody · 11/12/2020 14:49

Hi ladies, sorry I haven't been about much, been a bit of a hectic week with one thing and another. Lots to read through, sorry to hear about your pre-eclampsia, @RosieJess91 and your gd @Dipsy77. I've done low carb and it's odd, but you do get used to it. I basically replaced chocolate snacks with cheese instead! I do miss peanut m and ms - my eldest is allergic to nuts, so we can't have them in the house.

I had my NIPT results back today - less than 1 in 1 million chance for Downs, Pataus and Edwards, so that's really set my mind at rest.

Pugprincess · 11/12/2020 17:21

@DanceM1 my boobs have grown but unfortunately I think it’s more that I’m wider in general as cup wise it’s not bad 🙈😅 last two days I’ve not worn any bra! In jumpers with a top underneath so I don’t think you can tell. The freedom is lovely 😂

Thanks @Workingmama1 that’s interesting x

@Sakura54 great news about you not having GD but sorry to hear about yours @Dipsy77 😔

@Threnody great news about your results ❤️

I’ve had a stitch type pain in my left side under bump today, I think it’s the growing pains? Like ligaments stretching. Got my 20 week scan part 2 on Tuesday morning and I’m going to take some urine (will do sample before breakfast) with me incase they check for sugar and hope there’s not any in that sample 🤞🏻 I hope they can get the head measurements and check the brain etc this time too. So glad it’s the weekend I’ve been feeling quite tired again really. Babies been active mostly in the mornings after breakfast, I lie down to do my muscle relaxation meditation type thing before I leave for work and it goes mad then lol. Feel it here and there until lunch then I eat and it goes a bit mad again. Quiet in the eves I’m finding. See if that routine sticks... x

Lollol86 · 11/12/2020 19:55

Hey, hope everyone is ok? I had my 20 scan today and little lady is growing perfectly. Everything looked fine, although it did take a while to check her heart as she wouldn't stay still. She's on the 51st percentile so bang on average.

@Lollol86 yey! Congratulations! What a lovely scan pic. It’s mad how much they grow & change from scan to scan.

@RosieJess91 sorry you’ve been having such a rough time. The pre-eclampsia sucks but they’ve caught it early & will manage. Did you get a date for csection?

@Dipsy77 sorry about GD, again it sucks ☹️ Hopefully you’ll get into the swing of managing it ok & find new treats that aren’t sweet, cheese cheese & more cheese!

@Threnody great news on your results, one less thing to worry about.

@SkyBlue20 hope you enjoy your maternity shoot, look forward to seeing pics. Did your mum get her covid results?

Sorry if I’ve missed anyone I’m so behind what with moving house! Had my extra scan today to check hematoma (I’m 15+4). Sonographer was great & reassured me, it’s still 4cm but was ‘thinner’ & it’s at the bottom above cervix which is less dangerous than above baby or near placenta. Baby was moving around loads & had visibly grown since 12w scan so just going to try hard to relax now. Think we’ll tell DD tomorrow then others 🥰

Sorry not been on here that much recently, been pretty hectic, sorry to hear about your preaclampsia did you have any other symptoms? I've also got my diabetes check beginning of January I have to be at the hospital for 7 am does it take long? But I have been eating so many sweet treats way more than usual so should really reign that in. Can't believe I'm nearly 23 weeks plenty of movement for little one too recently and even managed to video her moving the other day whilst I was having my lunch! glad to hear everyone else is doing okay, these weeks really are passing quickly!

Lollol86 · 11/12/2020 21:45

@Starfish762 thank you, they certainly do change so much in such a short space of time. So glad all is well with your baba. Definitely take reassurance that they aren't concerned and baby is well xx

ew1990 · 11/12/2020 23:56

Congratulations on the scans ladies!

27 weeks today and I've felt so good today, full of energy and not sick! 1 more week till the 3rd trimester!

Not sleeping well at the minute though, no matter what side I lie on I have body parts really kicking and sticking out, I'm so grateful but it's uncomfortable, the kicks are really starting to hurt now, was like the scene From alien this afternoon!

Ooh and my pram arrived today, well I got it delivered to my mums I'll pick it up nearer the time

Pugprincess · 12/12/2020 03:56

Lovely scan pics @Lollol86 and @Starfish762 ❤️❤️

Dipsy77 · 12/12/2020 06:37

@Lu93 it's only 2 hours one they've taken the first lot of bloods so not that bad x
