Hi all 👋🏻 scan went well apart from I have to go back as she couldn’t get the head measurements as babies head is tucked right down! I tried everything, jumping, wiggling, walking, cold drink, nothing made it move 😅 so back I go. Everything looks good but need to have the face/head/brain checked properly but from what she could see today she was happy there’s nothing to worry about. I forgot to take a urine sample with me so did one there and it showed some sugar in it 😩 they aren’t too worried as I have eaten sugary foods today. Said if it’s there next time then they will look into it more I guess. My first check was done on a first morning wee and I recall midwife saying that’s better as sugary cereals etc can make it appear in urine. So I will take my own sample when I go back on Tuesday 15th December for the 20 week scan part 2 lol. Both hospital scans I’ve been the crazy lady walking/wriggling and jumping around the waiting area 😅 I have such a naughty baby. She also kept telling us to look away so we didn’t see the gender. Makes me think it was quite obvious maybe...I thought I saw something when it was moving it’s legs lol but could have been anything even the cord. I’m still convinced it’s a boy anyway 😅

@Pugprincess yey! Congratulations! What an clear pic too! Going back least you get to see your little baby again. Regarding the gender guessing, with DD we had to keep looking away & they couldn’t find the bits, then after a while they went ‘oh there it is’ & both started laughing - so we convinced she was a boy!

Pugprincess · 30/11/2020 19:01

Ooooo really @Starfish762 it just goes to show you can’t really read into anything much xx

Lu93 · 30/11/2020 19:18

Aww yey! @Pugprincess lovely photo. I think someone else has to go back to, I know I nearly did but then when she was saying my app she decided to move! I’m getting such big kicks today even managed to catch her on video. Desperately trying to get my husband to be able to feel her!

Starfish762 · 30/11/2020 21:04

@Pugprincess very exciting to speculate though, all part of the build up to the surprise 💙💗

Pugprincess · 30/11/2020 21:35

Thank you @Lu93 that was so lucky! I also recall somebody having similar happen and needing to go back. X

Smilingdonkey · 30/11/2020 22:45

@pugprincess what a lovely pic! So glad it all went well 😊 I ended up with 4 separate scans in the end to get all the 20 week data! We got there in the end! Xx

Lollol86 · 30/11/2020 22:45

@Pugprincess congratulations, so glad all is well with baby xx

Pugprincess · 01/12/2020 00:24

@Smilingdonkey blimey 4 😂 sounded like for me they will only try this one more time and if not it’s marked down as incomplete and we move on lol 🙈

ew1990 · 01/12/2020 01:05

@pugprincess congratulations on the scan. I would've loved a surprise but too impatient.

Can't sleep tonight. At my 20 weeks scan (like nearly 6 weeks ago) baby was head down and I felt loads of movement near my pubic bone. I had a really weird movement about an hour ago. Like a massive ripple. And now I can feel massive movements on both sides of my belly. I think she may have turned sideways 🙈

Pugprincess · 01/12/2020 01:22

@ew1990 aw wow that sounds fun 😅😂 bet that’s was soooo weird. Is this your first child? Sorry I can’t remember 🙈 I find the turning churning feeling really weird. Nice to know it’s not just my baby with it’s head down lol. Xx

ew1990 · 01/12/2020 01:29

@pugprincess no I have a DD who's just turned 3. She was always sideways I don't even know when she turned I didn't feel anything 😂 she was back to back in labour though so that with the being induced on the drip was a nightmare 😩

Workingmama1 · 01/12/2020 09:54

Yay to a good scan @Pugprincess! And another opportunity to see the baby with a rescan...

I think my baby might be transverse a lot of the time, I get kicks at both sides of my tummy at the same time quite often. But also lots of the churning sensation I guess is him moving around, I never felt that woth my daughter and it feels so weird!

Sakura54 · 01/12/2020 10:25

Lovely scan! @Pugprincess

When I had my 20w scan and they told me it was a girl, I was too out of it from pain to confirm so just said ok. I tried to double check when I had my extra scan but they couldn’t see due to baby’s position so I’m a bit nervous I’ll be getting a surprise unintentionally! I may well be offered more scans but probably just being silly and in denial.

@ew1990 At my appt the other day, the MW wrote on my notes that baby was transverse, meaning sideways. She didn’t even touch me, just listened to the heartbeat so I guess she could tell from that, but apparently at our stage they are transverse a lot.

@SkyBlue20 You’re only a bit behind me, it’s crazy right how far we’ve come. The second trimester did fly by. I don’t think it’s too early to have everything bought and ready. Good to get it out the way. Baby will be here before you know it.

@JoJo58995 I got it from my council’s website. Some councils offer incentives like vouchers or in my case, free nappies, so check yours.

Hi ladies, thanks for all your kind words. Its been a crazy few days...very up and down. Didnt think my contacts had to isolate, then was told they did, then didn't etc. Yesterday, the hospital agreed i could go to my appointment this morning because test and trace hadn't told me to isolate so I was really happy then last night test and trace contacted me and told me to isolate so I wasn't allowed to go to my appointment in the end. I actually cried when test and trace contacted me because i was so fed up! Then this afternoon I finally got a call to say I DON'T need to isolate and nor do my contacts. After I missed my appointment.. never mind! Nothing I can do now! The consultant called me and booked in 2 growth scans which is good so I shouldn't complain. I've literally spent the last 2 days on the phone to doctors, consultant, PHE and test and trace 🙈 oh and work to keep them updated!

I will have a read through the thread again now and try and take in what everybody else has been up to!! It feels like it should be Friday tomorrow 🤣

DanceM1 · 01/12/2020 20:43

@Pugprincess I'm so so pleased your scan went well-wonderful news! I also have a scan on the 15th too now ☺ and yes.. after this week just 2 little weeks until the Christmas holidays, I cant believe it!

@SkyBlue20 ahhh you are so organised!! Well done you. I really need to start doing a bit more now!

I cannot believe I'm 28 weeks next Thursday!!! It just doesn't seem real at all. Like a few of you have said, I'm really feeling pregnant now. I keep trying to squeeze through places and then I bump my belly because there isn't enough space 🤣

I've had very similar movements to what you've described @Workingmama1 I just love feeling any movement at all. Yesterday baby woke me up at 4am kicking like crazy! Ive also had that ripple feeling @ew1990 I know what you mean... its really strange!! But I dont think my baby moved quite as far so can just imagine how yours felt 🤣

@Smilingdonkey I cant believe you ended up with 4 separate scans to get your 20 week data!😬

Smilingdonkey · 01/12/2020 22:52

@pugprincess that was on two different occasions so going away and coming back in a hour twice! They told me if they needed to book me in again they would have to refer me to the consultants and it takes forever so she persevered and got all the data in the end!

Pugprincess · 01/12/2020 23:10

Aww you guys are getting so close to the 3rd trimester! 🥰 is it just me or does it fly by now? 1st trimester dragged so bad in comparison.

@DanceM1 oooo scan twins 👯‍♀️ what time is yours? I’m at 10.50am. I’m so ready for the Christmas break! bless you I think days spent making calls are so draining! You will defo need that rest now! Annoying and a shame they have messed you about so much...it’s almost like they don’t know what they are doing 🤔😅

@Smilingdonkey ah I see, she sent me out for a walk for 5 mins and then called me back in. Probably not long enough to get movement but I think baby is quite happy down there and not sure if it will move now 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m not going to be surprised if it hasn’t moved on the next scan. Xx

ew1990 · 01/12/2020 23:13

@dancem1 aww so sorry you got messed about like that. Very frustrating.

My bump is so so sore. Like the top feels really bruised. It's agony 😩😩

Hope everyone else is doing Well? I'm exhausted but cant sleep again 🙈🙈

SkyBlue20 · 02/12/2020 16:50

Hi all!

@Pugprincess Yay, congrats on your scan!

@DanceM1 What a palaver!! When's your appointment been moved to now?

Had my 25 week MW appt today, got to hear baby's heartbeat and my urine sample and blood pressure were both good ☺️ They said that baby is lying across my stomach, head on my left, feet on my right, which makes sense as I get most kicks on the right. Definitely felt her like waving her arms about this morning though for the first time, it was so strange but lovely. I'm convinced she's starting to react to music at times, too.
Next up is my GTT on Saturday then my 28 week MW appt on 23rd Dec. It's terrifying how quickly it's going to go after Xmas but also so exciting!

DH's friend and his wife had a little girl today, am so happy for them - she went in to be induced on Sunday early afternoon though and had baby early this morning, the poor thing must be shattered! DH's friend said he'd been sent home so was going for a nap - can't blame him! Also found out another of DH's really good friends and his gf are expecting, so seems our little girl will have some little pals around her age ☺️

Hope everyone is doing well! xx

RosieJess91 · 02/12/2020 16:53

Sorry, haven't really looked at this in a few days, been feeling rather awful. Been suffering with crazy palpitations and my heart rates been over 100 several times, unsure whether it's pregnancy related or because of my heart condition. So I'm now waiting on a phone call from my GP to see what they think.
Literally struggle to get to sleep and then really struggle to wake up. Can't move properly as my chest, back and pelvis hurts. Wearing a bra is super uncomfortable, but my boobs feel so heavy that not wearing a bra hurts. Was feeling so rubbish today that I napped for 3 hours. Constantly have a hot water bottle either on my back or between my legs. Don't know what to do! 😭
23 weeks today, 17 more weeks of palpitations and heavy breathing does not sound like fun to me at all... 😭😭

Sorry that I'm being miserable. Just want the GP to ring so I can finally go in the right direction.

RosieJess91 · 02/12/2020 21:18

Well, spoke to GP, who told me to ring Maternity, struggled to get through to them, called my midwife, who gave me a new number. Finally spoke to maternity who told me I had to get an appointment at a&e (who knew that was a thing...?!), had to ring 111 to get an appointment, but they put me through to a clinician, who made me an appointment at a doctors surgery with an ECG machine. Got to the doctors surgery, who told me they didn't have an ECG machine and that they would ring the cardiology ward to find out what to do. They said it was normal for a pregnant woman to have a crazy heart rate and that if it climbed over 100 again or if I fainted or got so dizzy I couldn't stand up, that I would then have to go to a&e...

So. That was a crazy evening. Nicest doctor ever though!

ew1990 · 02/12/2020 21:50

@rosiejess oh what a day you've had. Hope you manage to get some rest?

Pugprincess · 03/12/2020 03:51

@RosieJess91 oh crikey what a day that’s been! Are you feeling better now? I get palpitations too and have had them recently, I also get a randomly fast heart rate sometimes but I’ve always put it down to my anxiety as I don’t have a heart condition diagnosed. I remember I had a period of months where I was getting palpitations every day and it was really bothering me so I nearly went doctors then but I didn’t. It stopped happening for a bit just every now and again. You have another child don’t you? Did pregnancy affect you like this then? Do you have to take anything to manage your heart condition? X

Pugprincess · 03/12/2020 03:54

@SkyBlue20 thank you 😊 and great news on your app today too ❤️ Is Saturday that lucozade drink test? Did you get put forward for that for having sugar in wee? As I have some in mine but I really don’t like the sound of the test regarding not eating. If I don’t eat in the morning il feel faint 😩 I worry how I’d get to hospital with no food in me. X
