@Dublindolly Ooh no!! Your poor dinner, Ive also done some silly things like that and not realising 😂

Im also feeling ok still, Im 5 weeks today definitely more tired and simple things get me out of breath but i feel fine within myself luckily.
More pulling and stretching really low down yesterday which was a reminder that things are happening :)

@reservoircats ah thats great you completed your referral, my letter came through yesterday with the appointment and it just seemed a little more real and its nice to have a countdown to something

AnneZ31 · 29/10/2020 11:05

@Dublindolly thanks for checking in. I still feel absolutely fine. To the point that I’m working 10/11 hours a day and I’m not tired or hungry. I’m convinced the baby must be giving me some extra vitamins or something! (Trying to stay positive and ignore what google says). Have to jump up and down every so often to check in that I still have sore boobs 😂

Melt down over the casserole made me laugh. But actually that sounds quite traumatic with the whole thing melting! Ruining all your preparation 😠

Sunbird24 · 29/10/2020 11:14

When have people got their first midwife appointments? Mine is 19 Nov by telephone. I’ve got my 8 week scan with the fertility clinic the day before so fingers crossed everything is ok and they can discharge me to a normal maternity pathway!

Lollipop87 · 29/10/2020 11:38

@Sunbird24 mine is 25th Nov in person and my DH can come too which I was pleasantly surprised about!

Flowerbudd · 29/10/2020 11:39

@AnneZ31 aww thats good you can still work those hours, I think there a definitely a few of us with minimal symptoms and it's difficult not to worry but actually it seems quite common :)

@Sunbird24 I have mine face to face on Sat 21st November and then a 9 week scan 6 days later 😌
Ah thats exciting, that will be great to get discharged to the maternity unit.

Weeks go soo slow!!!

Bellabubble · 29/10/2020 11:44

@Sunbird24 I haven’t done my self-referral yet - sounds stupid, but I’m to anxious to until after my private scan next sat (i’ll be 8+4 if all goes well) - as last time I had to call my midwife to say I didn’t need the appointment due to my miscarriage, which wasn’t the nicest of experiences. I did try this morn but the internet form wasn’t working, so I have to call. I’d rather so it online as I want to mention my previous mmc, I don’t know if they’ll ask about that.

Sunbird24 · 29/10/2020 12:56

@Bellabubble when I phoned to make my appointment they asked lots of questions including if this was my first pregnancy - I had a MMC 18 years ago.

Lolliloo · 29/10/2020 17:00

Don’t know about anyone else but I am SO over my nipples being erect 24/7 they are so sore 😩

OP posts:
Bellabubble · 29/10/2020 17:30

@Lolliloo i habe 2 beas from m&s that are supersoft material, and they work wonders lol! I can’t wear any other bra at the moment or else they do the same and are super sensitive to anything! The slightest temp change, leaning against something and knocking them etc - so for now I keep switching between these 2 bras I have lol! I think it’s because they get nice and warm in there!

Lolliloo · 29/10/2020 20:58

@Bellabubble I’m going to have to try something because it’s driving me mad! Even having a boiling hot shower doesn’t ease it, hope this doesn’t last past the first trimester

OP posts:
Bellabubble · 29/10/2020 21:09

@Lolliloo the shower hurts mine because of the pressure lol! I’m always cold and used to love my how showers, but now I have to stand with my back to the flow and let the water kind of just wash over the front, so my front is always a bit chilly 😂

Dublindolly · 29/10/2020 21:26

Mine were really sore for a few days last week but seem to have eased up this week. As long as they keep growing I’m happy. I’ve spent most my life with bee stings! 😂

I bought a book “expecting better” just dipped in but really like it’s no nonsense facts and statistics. Anyone else have any reading recommendations?

Got a letter with my appointment times for December. I’m so excited and nervous... I just want the next few weeks to hurry up!!!

Illy603 · 29/10/2020 21:33

Hope you don’t mind me joining in! Got my positive yesterday, was a complete shock. But we are over the moon. Phoning GP tomorrow but other than that I haven’t a clue what to do... other than sleep, I seem to be asleep 90% of the time 😂 Waiting for my drs appt to find out exactly how far along I am but we’ve calculated the due date around June 7th. This is my first pregnancy and we want to wait until the 12 week mark before we tell anyone, but it feels a bit lonely not having my mum to chat to about it all... so hopefully this will be a good place to chat ☺️

reservoircats · 29/10/2020 21:40

Felt very sick today again and am SO BLOATED that I feel like a whale, not sure if that is pregnancy related?

Lollipop87 · 29/10/2020 21:55

@Dublindolly I’ve got Expecting Better, it’s such a great book! I’d already read up to the end of the first trimester before I even got pregnant and I’ve already re-read it, I love how she looks at all the different studies and then kind of gives her opinion of what you do and don’t need to worry about at the end of each section.

@Illy603 congrats! We’re telling my mum next weekend but it’s been so hard already the last couple of times I’ve seen her!

@reservoircats I’m very bloated too, my jeans are too uncomfortable to be done up think I’ll resort to leggings tomorrow!

reservoircats · 29/10/2020 22:14

@Lollipop87 I undid my jeans for most of the day too! You've reminded me to get some more leggings

Lollipop87 · 29/10/2020 22:46

@reservoircats my sister had some super soft maternity leggings from H&M that she still wears now, because they’re tight/stretchy they stay up with or without a bump. Think I might get some!

Dublindolly · 30/10/2020 14:32

@Illy603 welcome 😊

@Lollipop87 it’s such a great read. I like her no nonsense approach. Very real common sense stuff backed by fact. After reading the miscarriage risk chapter it really calmed me down. It kinda said what everyone I spoke to had said but just sunk in more. So I’m feeling way more chilled out that I was last week 😊

@reservoircats 100% all bloat with me too. I feel super heavy around the tummy even though I know it is not baby. They say your body takes more nutrients from food so I’m blaming that. All my jeans are those salsa high waisted ones so the last few days they are a no go. I’ve been living in joggers and my comfy day dresses with leggings.

Bellabubble · 30/10/2020 14:44

@Dublindolly the hormones produced by hcg slow down your digestive system so that your bidy can take more nutrients from it - which gives you the bloat/heavy feeling. I like the sound of that book. I’m too anxious to buy any books yet though..I think i’ll better after my scan next week, well I hope so! Having had my mmc in Feb I’m trying to not overthink things (and I am a huge overthinker lol, and a 2+2=5 kinda person when it comes to thinking about the worst!)

Bellabubble · 30/10/2020 14:48

@Sunbird24 thank you! I’m going to ring them today - I’m being brave, as I’m super anxious this week and don’t want to “commit” to anything if that makes sense! I’m wishing I hadn’t pushed my early scan back from tomorrow now - genuinely kicking myself!

Dublindolly · 30/10/2020 17:27

@Bellabubble ah interesting 😊 I’ve normally a high metabolism so I’m really noticing the extra squidgy bloat now!!

I hear you on not wanting to buy books. There is something more concrete about having one even though I’ve probably read enough online now to fill a few of them! It’s like if you buy one you are risking fate. I kinda had to tell myself nothing I do like this will affect the out come so kinda chilled out my overactive thoughts 🤣

I’m so glad it’s the weekend all I want is bed lately.

PopcornMum · 31/10/2020 16:31

I've been struggling with the nausea for the past two weeks. Basically feeling awful from waking to bed and the only thing that helps is eating constantly. But I've begun massaging my tummy and specifically the Pyloric valve which is where food leaves the stomach. Doing this every day and I think it helps. Also sucking mints or other hard candy helps. Just wanted to share the idea with anyone else struggling. Seems like an uphill battle ahead of us.

Lauloo123 · 31/10/2020 16:38

reservoircats · 31/10/2020 18:35

I have a question for anyone who has self-referred to the midwife at their local hospital- how long did it take for them to contact you?

Dublindolly · 31/10/2020 18:51

Hi Ladies Smile link below for tomorrow. For anyone who didn’t see my original post, I decided to set up a little zoom chat for us mums to be who are all around the same stage. With all this lockdown stuff and not telling friends etc yet. Thought it would be fun to have chats with people going through the same stage. All welcome 😊
