@Pinktruffle aww that's amazing news and such a lovely story to hear! Especially that they're going above and beyond and not giving you any pandemic excuses for their lack of care.

LookForTheGood · 12/10/2020 20:09

0-3 months swamped my DS and he was a whopper of 8lb13 when he was born, didn’t get to use any of the newborn stuff we had so he was in 0-1 month to begin with! I would definitely suggest having some newborn and 0-1 month to begin with! But then all shops and brands are so different with their sizing!

@december2020 sorry to hear work has been so rubbish!! I definitely could have pursued pregnancy discrimination with my first born but just didn’t think the stress of it all in the long run was worth it! Fingers crossed everything will be ok for you! They shouldn’t be putting pressure on you!

@kkr168 really sorry to hear you’re suffering so much with carpel tunnel! Is there anything your midwife or GP can suggest? I think nipples start to become a bit more tender in the third trimester, mine certainly have! Maybe a warm flannel might help to ease them? Or a warm shower/bath.

LookForTheGood · 12/10/2020 20:12

@Pinktruffle so glad your hospital have been really support!! Makes all the difference!

I would recommend reading some positive birth experiences with elective c sections 😊 here’s a really good link... but obviously if it’s not your cup of tea then no worries!!

peachypetite · 12/10/2020 21:03

@Pinktruffle pleased to hear it. I am so happy my husband will be allowed to my scan next week.

NatalieH2220 · 12/10/2020 21:37

@Nic2908 my son was in 0-1m for around 6 weeks (he was 6lb 9oz at birth) so have a fair few in this size but more in 0-3. I didn't bother with newborn size so only have maybe 1 or 2 things that were given as gifts.

excitednerves · 12/10/2020 22:37

@Bluebell2020 thanks for the reply. Between my 2 growth scans at 28 and 32 weeks baby has dropped from just below 50th centile to just above 10th (hard to tell exactly what the difference is on those charts though) so I’m back in at 35 weeks if baby stays in that long.

The more I think about it, I remember the midwife who delivered DS commenting that my placenta was small, so I wonder if that led to him being born early. Who knows? I wonder if it’s the same for this baby too? Trying not to worry for the next 2 weeks though until I see what happens at the next scan.

Bluebell2020 · 12/10/2020 22:44

@excitednerves the charts are rubbish aren't they 🙈 Fingers crossed your little one stays in there and hasn't dropped again on the next scan x

excitednerves · 13/10/2020 03:48

@Bluebell2020 fingers crossed for both of us that these babies stay put as long as they can. X

Kj1010 · 13/10/2020 07:41

Morning all hope u all are well sorry to hear those that are having a bit of a rubbish time at mo hope ur babies stay cooking a bit longer ladies aswell well we have extra work as school cleaners as one of our ladies we think has pulled I've got a bad back to fly back to her home country Portugal to get her tooth done as she doesn't want to get it done here but that means self isolate for 2 weeks which takes us to half term which she wouldnt get paid for so pulling a sicky easer for her but puts us cleaners under more pressure as we have to be very thorough on our cleaning and doing a whole extra area aswell as our own within a certain time scale is hard I so cant wait for leave to start 16 days to go on the bright side we wont be doing her area in half term she will have to get it done when she back thankgod

december2020 · 13/10/2020 11:32

It's Prime Day today and tomorrow and it's got some good baby deals if anyone is a Prime member and still needs to get a few bits and pieces.

DH is so pleased with some techy baby monitor he's found and bought.

peachypetite · 13/10/2020 11:58

@Kj1010 you poor thing. Cleaning is such a physically demanding job I don’t know how you’re doing it.

Babyhope98 · 13/10/2020 11:59

@Asianchick6693 I see you wrote before about taking omeprazole and gaviscon do you find omeprazole doesn’t always work alone? I started it four weeks ago omeprazole 20mg and i can feel my heartburn is back these last few days but I don’t know if I can up the dose or take something else as well can’t wait until she drops so this can stop 😂🙄

Kj1010 · 13/10/2020 12:06

@peachypetite I dont no either lol I have to admit I am struggling alot now my manager says if it's to much go off now but my thinking is the earlier go the earlier I have to go back even tho I have just found out holidays I have left and accrue over maternity I can use after it finishes but not b4 which I find slightly strange oh well I'm just prodding along hoping these days goes fast lol then can relax

peachypetite · 13/10/2020 12:24

If anyone else has been struggling to find maternity pyjamas with dark bottoms I’ve just ordered some from new look. They also have 20% off everything with code OCTOBER20.

Pinktruffle · 13/10/2020 13:17

Thanks @LookForTheGood - it is something I've been meaning to look at, including the stuff for vaginal birth as I'm not 100% on what I want to do yet. I need to pull my finger out and actually do it as I'm running out of time!

My generally managable PGP seems to have gotten really bad overnight and I'm not sure why! I was in pain most the night and really struggling today. It's not as bad as some others have had, I don't need crutches. So far I have resisted taking any kind of pain killer but I think I'm going to give in today and have some paracetamol.

Pinktruffle · 13/10/2020 13:19

@peachypetite I struggled with that too! I actually ended up buying regular pyjamas in a size 12 (rather than my usual size), they seem to be working fine. I mainly want them for post birth in the hospital so they should fit what I'm assuming will be my saggy belly in nicely!

Asianchick6693 · 13/10/2020 13:28

@Babyhope98 yes omeprazole only sort stops your stomach producing too much acid so I would also take gaviscon but leave 2 hours between them and that really helps! Gaviscon is totally harmless too so don't worry about taking both of them.

I usually take omeprazole towards the end of the day and that way I can easily take gaviscon around meal times so it helps reduce any acid reflux or heartburn effects. Hope this helps!

Asianchick6693 · 13/10/2020 13:31

@Pinktruffle I would definitely take paracetamol. My GP always reassures me that it's safe, of course you want to limit the use as much as possible so taking it once in a while won't make any difference to your baby. He said it's when you start introducing other pain killers like codeine etc you need to be more careful but luckily I've managed to stay away from it despite being on crutches! It's all about managing it, so give it a go and see how you feel.

peachypetite · 13/10/2020 13:45

I’ve been wearing non maternity nightdresses up until now but it’s getting colder at night!

Asianchick6693 · 13/10/2020 15:11

@peachypetite I've been wearing long cotton nighties, sometimes getting the bottoms on and off is such a challenge for me especially with my PGP and with nighties I can just lift them up when going to the loo 😂 just makes life easier but I am also feeling colder at night.

peachypetite · 13/10/2020 15:57

Aww @Asianchick6693 bless you hun. You’ve really suffered. I just keep telling myself this will all be worth it when baby is here!!

danielasummer · 13/10/2020 16:10

Hi everyone! Just a question for those wanting to breast feed and pump milk to store in the fridge and feed at a later date - how are you planning on getting the milk to body temperature? I've seen the Tommee Tippee Easy Warm Baby Bottle and Food Warmer on Amazon (£17.60 down from £27.99) but wondering if it's unnecessary/there's an alternative to warming the milk? X

Asianchick6693 · 13/10/2020 16:11

@peachypetite same here, it's the little movements and just eagerly waiting to hold her in my arms. I think when she's finally here, I'm going to forget about all the difficult time. I've been wanting babies since I was a kid 😂

LookForTheGood · 13/10/2020 16:39

Pregnancy has a lot of ups and downs!! Some ladies definitely seem to get it worse! Hopefully all your pregnancy ailments will go when your little ones arrive. I always get awful restless leg at night and end up wanting to chop my legs off! And that’s nothing compared to what some of you are going through! It’ll all be worth it 😊

@danielasummer with my first we just put the milk into the bottle we were going to use then put that into a bowl of boiled water, waited then checked the temp of milk on our arm.

Pinktruffle · 13/10/2020 17:40

@Asianchick6693 I am planning on taking some tonight before bed. Will hopefully take the edge of the pain and I will sleep a bit better.

I can't believe most of us are almost there, its been long but at the same time, time has flown. Realistically, over the next 6 weeks, this thread could be full of babies!
