@NatalieH2220 hmmm definitely ask her what happens if she’s not sure then!!

kkr168 · 03/11/2020 11:01

So I had my presentation scan this morning, baby is head down as I'd thought & his feet are tucked right under my ribs. Now I know he's 100% down I will be bouncing on my ball like crazy Grin

@NatalieH2220 If your midwife wasn't sure of the baby's position, she should have referred you for a presentation scan. If she still isn't sure thursday, ask to have one.

LRHRN · 03/11/2020 11:21

@NatalieH2220 make sure she sends you for a presentation scan, she should of done than last time if she wasn't sure of baby's position. That's actually really bad that she hasn't.

NatalieH2220 · 03/11/2020 11:28

Thanks Ladies. I'm one of these people that don't like to push at the time but then complain or end up confused after 😂. I'll make sure everything is clear before I leave Thursday.

LRHRN · 03/11/2020 12:22

@NatalieH2220 I'm exactly the same, I can give the advise but I don't practise it myself 😂
I've got a presentation scan next week as my baby has been transverse from 16weeks but now appears to be bum down 🤦🏼‍♀️

Whatinthename20 · 03/11/2020 13:05

Has anyone else done a private GBS test and tested positive? Just been told I have it:( im 37weeks +4. Does anyone know if I can still have IV antibiotics on a MLU?
I’m waiting to hear back from my midwife.
It’s just unsettled me a bit.

Babyhope98 · 03/11/2020 13:09

I sent off mine yesterday at 36w2d.. I did it with the doctors laboratory, how long did the results take? @Whatinthename20 I should think you should still be on a MLU just no water birth x

Sheera1 · 03/11/2020 13:12

I had my flu jab last week at 37 weeks. It was a bit of a nonsense tbh as I got a text from GP and booked it in weeks ago. I then was called to say it was cancelled and my midwife would do it at my next appointment. When I went to it the midwife said it wasn't them and I was to ask for it at my next consultant appointment as the clinic was at the hospital. So at my 37 weeks appointment I asked and turns out I was supposed to have booked it. 🙈🙄

They did give it to me but it takes 2 weeks for antibodies to develop and pass on and my section is less than 2 weeks away....

Not the best from the nhs really.

Whatinthename20 · 03/11/2020 13:16

@Babyhope98 I did if through webmed pharmacy. I did the swab Thursday and posted it that morning. Results just came back today. It might have come back quicker if it wasn’t over the weekend I guess

Snowwhite2020 · 03/11/2020 13:24

@Sheera1 I’ve had a similar run around... ridiculous really!

Babyhope98 · 03/11/2020 13:37

Atleast you know about it! I hoped mine wouldn’t come back positive, but at least I’ll know and can prevent the complications that can arise from it x @Whatinthename20

Kj1010 · 03/11/2020 13:40

Afternoon all just had growth scan baby still breech but everything else is looking great in regards to size etc currently weighs 5lb 8 which is good as a month ago was told 3lb10 so I'm happy just a little concerned he ain't gonna turn little sod and I'll end up with csection which I dont want 😔

Kj1010 · 03/11/2020 17:25

Well the doctor I see not my consultant is talking about me maybe having them try and turn baby at my next appointment if he hasn't moved gave me info but not sure I wanna do that other than that it cud either be try a natural birth breech which could end up in emergency csection anyway or a planned csection I didn't really feel she knew to much about it all tbh so gonna see when I go in couple of weeks what they say then

LRHRN · 03/11/2020 18:06

@Kj1010 at least they are sorting you now. I'm nearly 37 weeks and have a transverse baby and all they keep saying is there is time for her to turn (she's been in this position since 16weeks) they think she may be bum down but got a scan on the 11th to check. I think I'm going to refuse the turning too and just opt for a ELCS if she hasn't moved

loobeelou · 03/11/2020 18:21

A few friends have been breech at 38 weeks and baby turned in time. One had acupuncture, not sure if it helps or if it's coincidence but meant no c-section.

jalu47 · 03/11/2020 20:19

@Sheera1 glad to hear you finally got a flu jab. I need an egg free one as I'm allergic and the nurse said they can't get hold of them for love nor money. She's got 3 people at the surgery who need them and has been trying everything.. they gave my partner a jab though, even though he's not in an at risk category, to give me some extra protection.. doesn't look like I'll get one anytime soon 😕

Sheera1 · 03/11/2020 20:41

That's rubbish @jalu47. Don5know why there are such issues this year when the normal people who are supposed to get them should first and then do more people.

I guess the silver lining is that normally we would be on public transport etc and we are more likely not to catch flu if not really out and about. Hope they sort it soon for you. Xx

MsBee13 · 03/11/2020 20:50

Good evening ladies. Just a quick update following up yesterday's midwife appointment.

I had a growth scan and baby position scan today as my midwife thought the baby is still breech and measuring on a small size so referred me to have this done asap.

Today's scan confirmed that baby is head down, already in pelvis and baby is a perfect size. This means that everything is fine and I will have a natural vaginal birth. Freaking out already as I thought having a c-section would be easier option as natural birth scares me.

Btw, I'm 36+5 today and also had my flu jab xx

jalu47 · 03/11/2020 22:09

@Sheera1 I think that probably only 50-60% of the 'at risk' group usually bother with the flu jab but everyone on the eligible list is wanting it this year.. that's probably why! I'm not too worried, as you say it's not like I'm coming into contact with many people. And fingers crossed for everyone that flu season will be much reduced this year, - that's what has happened in the Southern Hemisphere..

LRHRN · 04/11/2020 07:31

@MsBee13 that's amazing 😍 hopefully mine will be the same next week at 37+4 xxx

peachypetite · 04/11/2020 08:18

Just ordered a tens machine!

MsBee13 · 04/11/2020 08:22

@LRHRN I hope your baby turns head down too and you can have natural birth xx 🤞🏼

Babyhope98 · 04/11/2020 10:04

I’ve been thinking to order one too, any recommendations? I don’t know anyone that has used one x @peachypetite

loobeelou · 04/11/2020 11:24

@Babyhope98 the TENS machine is by Obi-TENS, I got it on Amazon. It worked well in early stage labour with DS.

peachypetite · 04/11/2020 12:03

I got the maternity one from boots for £40
