Sorry, was supposed to have tagged @Pinktruffle not @peachypetite! Although you may be able to relate too!

@december2020 I’m trying not to get too worried. My blood pressure has always been normal and baby is measuring big/healthy. I do have painful achey/numb/ pins and needles hands though. Have to drop in another urine sample today and see what my levels are. If it is pre-eclampsia then it’s in the early stages and I’ve only got 2 and a half weeks to go. Hoping it’s not though x

Babyhope98 · 02/11/2020 09:37

@LRHRN yes she’s my first so extra special and nerve wrecking as nothing to compare it to so I just worry lol (I had three miscarriages before so this has made me more anxious can’t believe my luck I suppose)
Hopefully your little one has turned!! 🥰 Hope they don’t end up being December babies I’m so impatient now!! X

jojanna · 02/11/2020 10:41

@december2020 ohhhhh yes, I'm just past 38 weeks now, and now feeling more bump than human. Tired and sore today! Trying to rationalise and keep positive, but the news of the new lockdown is kinda tough. Planning a swim today - hopefully take the weight off for a bit, and mobilise my poor back! I'm tracking the 95th percentile on the midwife's chart atm - so genuinely feel like baby has taken over, and more so week on week as I'm visibly bigger!

kkr168 · 02/11/2020 10:41

@BG1234 I've had achy, pins & needles in my fingers for the past few months now, midwife put mine down to pregnancy related carpel tunnel. Wrist splints helped at 1st but no longer do anything for me, she has said it should disappear as soon as the baby is born.

Dee96 · 02/11/2020 11:11

@Pinktruffle that takeaway is defiently on the menu and well needed after last night!

@peachypetite yeah I've had the same wake up call. Going to try and mentally prepare myself as much as possible for anyday now so it doesnt come as so much of a surprise if it happens. I think the worst part was sitting in the hospital not knowing if I had to stay or not and knowing I'd have to do it alone. I honestly dont know know how other women have managed it but having to undergo testing and then ontop of that staying in alone can be quite anxiety testing

danielasummer · 02/11/2020 11:58

@NaomiB79 gorgeous girl and congratulations, such lovely news! Glad she is here safe and sound x

Good morning ladies. Just to give you a quick update from today's midwife appointment (36+4). Looks like baby is still in breech, bum down, but also possibly bum dropped down into my pelvis already. The baby measures on the smaller side following the bump tape measuring and was booked for an emergency scan tomorrow to check the growth and position of the baby. My due date is 26th November and if it's confirmed that baby is breech, I will probably have a c-section booked a week earlier than my due date. Will let you know more tomorrow x

kkr168 · 02/11/2020 12:21

@MsBee13 I've also just got home from my midwife appointment, every check since 25 weeks baby has been head down, today she wasn't so sure! She called another midwife in to check & she agreed that it doesn't quite feel like head, but from every other part they could feel of the baby it more then likely is but they want another opinion. So I'm going for a scan 9.30am tomorrow, she mentioned if he is bum down they could possibly turn him?
I personally think he is head down, I've had what clearly feel like 2 feet putting pressure on my ribs (midwife agreed they feel like feet) & pressure on my cervix at the same time, surely the only way that's possible is if he is head down?

MsBee13 · 02/11/2020 12:25

@kkr168 these little babies really are having party time inside there! 🙈 Let me know how the scan goes tomorrow.

I was told about possibility of turning the baby if in breech but for me it's an absolute no. I did some research about it and won't agree turning the baby. I would say do some research before hand xx

LRHRN · 02/11/2020 13:02

@Babyhope98 I know exactly how you feel but It's probably a good thing that you have nothing to compare to because I'm driving myself mental comparing to my last 2 pregnancy's and nothing is the same at all. My husband keeps reminding me this baby is completely different but I can't help myself.
I've found my pregnancy has gone really quick, even being in lockdown for 6months it flew but now these last few weeks are killing me.
Have you/are you going to try any of the old wives tales?
I started drinking raspberry leaf tea at 32weeks and will start the tablets from Saturday too. I took castor oil with my first 😖 at 39weeks and he was born 2 days later it was horrendous though I wouldn't recommend that one 😂 xx

LRHRN · 02/11/2020 13:07

@MsBee13 I've looked into ECV too and it looks absolutely horrendous and a lot more traumatic than I naively thought it would be.
I'm at the midwife shortly and hoping my baby hasn't turned but after being transverse from 16weeks I'm thinking it's unlikely.

Will they try and push for a natural birth if baby is bum down or are you thinking csection?
I know with transverse it's a definite csection was wondering what the protocol is for breech.

Sheera1 · 02/11/2020 13:13

@@naomib79 she is absolutely gorgeous and loving the hat!

Snowwhite2020 · 02/11/2020 13:29

@NaomiB79 I can see baby Quinn now too and she is adorable- congratulations!

Out of interest ladies who have been having growth scans and are measuring above 97th percentile for the head measurements- how are you all planning to birth? I know Naomi’s baby was in this category for size and mine has been for a long time too. We both have been tracked over a number of weeks/ months via sonographer growth scans, so pretty confident it’s not wrong that the baby’s head at least is big and consultant has said this can cause issues with progressing with VB and also raises risk of other potential problems with birth. I know there are other ladies on here who have this and are yet to give birth but please forgive my baby brain- I can’t keep track of who you are!

I was wondering what you are thinking re: birth and if you are also being taken in early? I am currently going in a week early and have been offered early induction but c section was also discussed. Wondered what others in this situation were doing/ thinking.

Many thanks xx

Babyhope98 · 02/11/2020 14:04

I haven’t tried anything yet but I do want to order some rasperry tea to start on Saturday. I was also going to start on pineapple and hot food 😆 I am meant to be starting acupuncture on Saturday too, to start getting my cervix ready hoping it will still go ahead as the clinic is staying open as it is medical for physiotherapy etc.. so fingers crossed.

I looked at your other post about ECV I was told a scary story by my acupuncturist which put me off if she had of stayed breech. They tried to turn a baby by ECV but when they tried to the baby’s heart rate dropped so they stopped. Ended up having a c section and the reason they baby wouldn’t turn it because the cord was too short. She suggested moxibustion to me which can help turn them naturally, if the baby can that is, something to do with the little toe.. However might be hard to get one due to lockdown x

peachypetite · 02/11/2020 14:14

@Snowwhite2020 I think I would go for a c-section over an induction to be honest.

Kodiak83 · 02/11/2020 14:35

@Snowwhite2020 my second had head size over 100%. I tried to labour but after four days it was a csection. He was never able to engage!! I know there is doubt over scan measurements but I was the same as you, the head had been consistently big at multiple scans so I wish I’d trusted that and opted for elective.

Kj1010 · 02/11/2020 14:44

My baby as I no right now is still breech have growth scan tomoz my midwife gave me a web site to look at that u do exercises to naturally try n turn baby she sed it's very effective and high success rate but not to start till 36 weeks if baby hasn't turned I prefer induction to c section anyday

MsBee13 · 02/11/2020 14:51

@LRHRN I want to go for c-section if baby still breech. Not risking anything trying for natural birth in this case. Let me know how it went at midwife's x

LRHRN · 02/11/2020 15:17

@Babyhope98 I eat quite abit of hot food anyway so been doing that too.
I'll look into acupuncture and also the turning thing. It really freaks me out and I've heard more horror stories than good. I'm just desperately trying to avoid and emergency csection.

Just seen the midwife and baby has moved to bum down 🤦🏼‍♀️ booked in next week for scan, possible ecv and induction 🤞🏼

MsBee13 · 02/11/2020 15:53

@LRHRN Good luck! Hope all goes well and as you would like xx

BG1234 · 02/11/2020 15:54

Thanks @kkr168- I’m hoping that’s what it is and that it’s just coincided with the protein result.

LRHRN · 02/11/2020 16:04

I'm not feeling the ecv option at all but going to just put it to the back of my mind and wait to see what they see on the scan first and decide from there x

Snowwhite2020 · 02/11/2020 16:58

Thanks @Kodiak83 and @peachypetite for your responses. It is the failure to engage/ progress issue that worries me- especially as my DP won’t be allowed in until active labour... if you never get to 4cm that could be a long haul alone if they recognise this is an issue with head size etc xx

Nic2908 · 02/11/2020 18:15

Hi guys, I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and baby had consistently been above 97th centile. But my midwives aren't bothered by at and don't want to sent me for a growth scan. Why did you get your referrals?

@Snowwhite2020 as a paediatric nurse I would be going for the elcs not induction. Which is why I want to know if my baby boy is actually large.

Snowwhite2020 · 02/11/2020 18:38

@Nic2908 thanks for your message. I was measuring over 97th from pretty early- I can’t remember when (it might have been the first appointment after 20 week scan) and I got referred for a growth scan to check the levels of fluid... I think in the process they found out that it was not fluid but all baby! From then on I’ve had 3 growth scans and they have shown consistently above 97th for head, femur and tummy measurements. Tbf my husband is quite tall and was a big baby so maybe not a great surprise!? I am pretty small all round when not pregnant I think they are just keeping an eye on things xx
