Oh that sound awful @Nic2908 hope all turns out to be ok and you can go home and get some rest. Have they checked your iron levels? I think this can cause breathlessness if it’s a bad defiency.. Atleast you are there and if it is PE they’ve found it before anything happened x

Amyyy1 · 28/10/2020 13:02

@Nic2908 Hope all is ok for you, I was in a&e a couple weeks ago with them having suspicions of PE, you are in the best hands and the safest place to be until they can find out how to help!

@lionsmum I have gotten the tommee tippee electric breast pump, I had quite a few recommendations from friends and family on that one, I got it in the amazon sale for £50 something

Nic2908 · 28/10/2020 13:04

@peachypetite pe is a pulmonary embolism which is basically a blood clot on the lung.

@Babyhope98 iron levels are all great as far as I am aware. Only test not back is covid but that was as a precautionary measure not because of symptoms.

You spend 9 months protecting your baby and then you need a test which they tell you could cause complications to you and your baby but you have to have it because not having it is more dangerous. Just want the results and to go home. How are all of you?

Pinktruffle · 28/10/2020 13:25

I hope you're ok @Nic2908, that sounds scary and I'm sure the lack of sleep is probably making you worse.

Had a chat with the consultant midwife today who was fab, she said she will call me back with a date for my ELCS later today. Strange to know that by the time I go to bed tonight, I could know the latest date by which I'll get to meet my baby!

peachypetite · 28/10/2020 13:32

@Nic2908 that does sound scary. Fingers crossed for you. Do you have anyone with you?

Pinktruffle · 28/10/2020 13:54

I got my date - 20/11. Just over 3 weeks till I meet my baby!!

Nic2908 · 28/10/2020 14:08

@pinktruffle how exciting is that!!

december2020 · 28/10/2020 14:40

Oh gosh @Nic2908 sending you a big hug, that sounds so scary. I hope everything is ok and they let you go home soon for some well deserved rest.

@peachypetite thanks for the tip! Will check and see weights! At the moment I was thinking one bulk box of size 1 (seems to be 8lbs -14lbs or something) and then maybe a small box of newborn if he is under 8lbs.

I'm really struggling today with tiredness. So many deadlines and presentations to build and I just want to nap! 😴

kkr168 · 28/10/2020 15:01

@Pinktruffle How exciting but that means your leaving the 26th club Grin

Pinktruffle · 28/10/2020 15:17

@kkr168 Haha yeah I know, be interesting to see how many of us actually have the baby on 26th. I am pleased that baby is coming a little earlier

Jwl45 · 28/10/2020 15:28

@nic2908 big hugs ...sounds scary... But you're in the best place until they know for sure... And can sort it out for you. I bet you are looking forward to a good night's sleep at home though.
Breast pump... I haven't bought one. Thought I'd wait and see... I had one for my other 2 and didn't get on with it at all!!I hated it lol. Had my growth scan this morning .. there's been a gain since last time so consultant seemed to think it was a blip as was showing on graph. We are currently around 6lb 7. I'd banged my side on car door on the way in ... So had to have an anti D injection. Not as painful as last time. 😌 Also had my date..... November 9th .... Baby Evans will be making her appearance. Eek.

Amyyy1 · 28/10/2020 16:03

It's so exciting babies are going to be arriving soon!!!😬😬

Sheera1 · 28/10/2020 17:48

Oh that is great you have a date. Same week as me (16th).

I want to combi feed as killed myself breastfeeding last time. Won't be going anywhere near a pump. Will introduce a formula bottle feed as soon as I can (and if Breast feeding doesn't work out this time) to pass the reins and get a break and let DP bond. Best laid plans and all that spring to mind.

Scan tomorrow and clinic ans fly jab thiugh getting a cold and a slight temp so they might not do it. X

peachypetite · 28/10/2020 18:00

Wow it is starting to get very real isn’t it! I’m seeing consultant next week , interested to see what they say about baby’s growth.

NaomiB79 · 28/10/2020 19:51

@Nic2908 sorry to hear you are struggling so much with your breathing. I hope they get to the bottom of it in the hospital and you are able to get some relief and a decent night's sleep soon.

Lots of dates getting booked in now for our babies to arrive, exciting times, this last bit seems to have gone in so quick!

My induction is tomorrow, I'm feeling positive about it now just can't wait to meet my baby girl!

I wanted to say thanks to everyone on this thread for all of your advice and support over the past 6 months or so. It really has been a lovely supportive environment where, as a first time mum, I felt totally at ease asking questions about things that I really didn't have a clue about!

Here's to the next stage of our journey and to meeting all of our babies very soon xx

My due date is 26th but baby was breech las time I was checked so let's see if I have to be booked for c-section. How exciting to meet your baby earlier. Yay!

Amyyy1 · 28/10/2020 20:37

@NaomiB79 Hope all goes well for you tomorrow, keep us updated where you can😍

I'm honestly getting so impatient I just want to meet my little one now!!! 35 weeks today so still potentially over a month to go😓

Good luck - how exciting!!! X

MsBee13 · 28/10/2020 20:41
@Babyhope98 I had exactly the same a few days ago and then about a week before that, stuffed myself with chocolate and had to lie down, felt as though I was going to pass out. Also feeling thirsty all of the time, no matter how much I drink it doesn't seem to go.

3rd trimester fun😅 is anyone investing in a breast pump before baby is here or just waiting to see how it goes? Interested in combi feeding so wanted to get one, been reading which ones seem best but was interested to see if anyone has one they'd recommend
The only breast pump I bought is Hakka. I'm planning on breastfeeding (fingers crossed all goes well) and have Hakka on the other boob while breastfeeding to collect some milk for my partner to have a go with bottle feed here and there. That's the plan. Hope it will work x

Babyhope98 · 28/10/2020 20:51

Keep getting painful braxton hicks, getting scared for the real thing now 😅 it seems to happen after I go to the toilet for a wee don’t know why that sets them off x

Kj1010 · 28/10/2020 20:55

@NaomiB79 gl for tomoz all use women who getting close or have ur csection booked I feel like I have ages still nearly 34 weeks I have my scan next week and do hope baby has changed positions as dont want a csection also feel like time has slowed down for me for some reason hoping it picks back up and zooms past lol I'm getting very concerned also that we may go into a national lockdown and the hospital wont let any partners in for any of the birth and that we gonna have to do it all ourselves

NaomiB79 · 28/10/2020 21:12

@Kj1010 thanks. They literally changed the visiting rules for the Lothians where we are today with immediate effect! Not sure what that means for how much my parter is allowed in or not will know more when we get to the hospital tomorrow but I think it will mean he is allowed in for active labour but maybe not whilst I'm on the induction ward!

Kj1010 · 28/10/2020 21:14

@NaomiB79 that's what it like now here but if rules /national lock down happen I fear they wont let partners in at all

excitednerves · 28/10/2020 21:44

Good luck @NaomiB79!

I have a scan tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing what baby is up to in there and if she’s grown

Sheera1 · 28/10/2020 21:49

Good luck tomorrow @naomib79. You got this!

Hope partner is allowed in for most of it. Need to check what rules are here in Glasgow. Will be thinking of you at my scan tomorrow xx
