@LRHRN Hi ya. I have always been a planned section from the start due to my previous birth messiness. DS was overdue, then failed induction and significant fetal distress and a messy emergency section. My scar is large and messy. They recommended planned section but what I wanted anyway for a calmer birth. They won't induce due to my scar and the failed induction.

I have always had growth scans booked for 32 and 36 weeks though they run late so basically the day before 33 and 37 weeks. This is because I am older and have a 10 yr gap between births and high BMI.

At the 32/33 week scan baby is Breech Footling so the foot/feet are through my pelvis rather than bum first. My midwife said that if I went into labour or waters broke I need to call immediately and they would take me straight in for section. Issue seems to be infection risk as the baby's foot won't plug the cervix like the head or bottom would and also there is a risk of the cord coming down out through the cervix which is dangerous.

LRHRN · 27/10/2020 14:16

@Sheera1 thank you for that.

I've got a 9 year gap between my youngest and this one but had normal deliveries previously with both and aren't in the high risk categories for anything.
I don't have high bp or anything just an awkward baby that has her head in my pelvis and is diagonal across my belly.
The csection possibility for me is because of cord prolapse which is probably a risk for you too.
Fingers crossed everything works out ok, I'm at the hospital tomorrow am for a fasting blood test as I've got glucose+++ in my urine even though I had a negativeGTT.

There's me thinking having a third baby would a breeze 😂 this pregnancy has definitely been the hardest and most stressful xx

Asianchick6693 · 27/10/2020 17:43

Has everyone had their flu jab? Just had mine earlier this afternoon. Glad it's all out the way now! It's made me feel super tired though, not to mention I didn't sleep a wink last night. This insomnia is really frustrating!

Jellycat2020 · 27/10/2020 18:19

@Asianchick6693 yes, had mine at the weekend. Haven't had any noticeable side effects other than a slightly sore arm, but nothing compared to the Whooping cough one! I have the flu jab every year anyway.
Just started with hip cramp this evening which is a new one for me. I've been on my feet all day today, unusually, so guessing it might be that?

Asianchick6693 · 27/10/2020 18:40

@Jellycat2020 I definitely felt worse with the whooping cough one as I vomited after getting it felt awful but don't feel so bad with this yet.

Hip cramp most definitely from being on your feet. Try a nice bath or if you can get a massage! I've made it a daily routine with my husband. Mines improved so much since being off work, I'm starting to feel more mobile which I'm so glad about. I was worried about it getting worse but resting up has really done it for me.

Jellycat2020 · 27/10/2020 18:46

@Asianchick6693 I get a daily massage too 😊 and yes, I was planning on a bath after GBBO! I'm normally so active but having not worked for 7 months nor been able to run/cycle/play hockey/play badminton either, just being in the kitchen all day has knackered me!

Asianchick6693 · 27/10/2020 18:51

@Jellycat2020 tell me about it! I've been anything but active this pregnancy but for the past couple of days despite lack of sleep I don't know where I'm getting the energy from, been tidying like crazy and ironing usually I find it tedious but it's been somewhat satisfying. Just feel the need to keep everything clean and tidy before LO gets here.

loobeelou · 27/10/2020 19:16

I had the flu jab last week, no symptoms, just a sore arm. I'm having whooping cough next week. Pin cushion springs to mind 😂

Sheera1 · 27/10/2020 20:44

Having flu jab after my scan and clinic this Thursday. Got it last year and my arm reacted quite badly. Swelled up and was hot to touch. X

december2020 · 27/10/2020 21:44

Has anyone bought any diapers yet? What size did you go for? I'm wondering if it's just getting a pack of Newborn and Size 1 and see what fits?
Or just size 1 and if they're too big order newborn?

We're finally pulling little bits and pieces together to get things ready. The bedroom renovation is finally over so need to sort everything back into their new homes this weekend as well. How is it only Tuesday?

excitednerves · 27/10/2020 22:12

I totally agree, whooping cough was way worse than the flu. My GP run a one-way-system clinic for the flu vaccine on weekends and I was SO impressed with their efficiency.

On another topic, has anyone else been feeling downward pressure recently? I swear baby is testing the exit route. It feels like she’s judging downwards all the time. Looking forward to my scan on Thursday to see what she’s up to

excitednerves · 27/10/2020 22:13

*pushing downward.... she may be judging me too, who knows.

kkr168 · 27/10/2020 23:04

@excitednerves I've been experiencing a lot of pressure, at my midwife appointment last week baby was head down (has been since at least 25 weeks) but not engaged at all, I'm thinking he's finally engaged & that's why the pressure has increased? I'll be seeing her again on Monday, so will see what she says. This is my 2nd baby though & apparently its normal for them to pop in & out of being engaged.
I got my pregnancy ball out today & followed some youtube video's, my 1st baby was 2 weeks late, hoping this one will come on time.

NaomiB79 · 28/10/2020 00:23

@excitednerves I've had this for a good few weeks now, constant downward pressure. It's quite painful most of the time. I think it is the baby moving down getting ready to exit! I know mine was head down at 36 weeks but not engaged but maybe she is now and that's why the pressure feels more intense.

excitednerves · 28/10/2020 04:28

Thanks @kkr168 and @naomiB79. That’s what I thought. Second baby for me too but my first was out already by this point so the thought of this baby being engaged too worries me a bit. This baby has been head down since 28 weeks (now 34 weeks) roll on my scan tomorrow!

Sheera1 · 28/10/2020 09:13

Yes I have felt this for a few weeks but baby was breech at last scan. Midwife thinks he/she has turned but not sure (no clue how they tell what anything is in there). Scan tomorrow will tell me.

But yes, esp if sitting for a while when I get up I feel like ai left my vagina on the chair the pressure and weight is so low.

Kj1010 · 28/10/2020 09:13

Morning ladies I have felt a uncomfortable pressure down there last few days wondering if it is baby but last time I see midwife and scan said he was breech so I dont no if it his feet or if he has turned and gone the right way I have my growth scan next week so will see also have been feeling very uncomfortable under the boob area so I no he there somewhere lol having to get up again bout 3/4 times a bloody night between peeing and uncomfortableness also feel though these last weeks are slowing down now

Babyhope98 · 28/10/2020 09:50

I found the pressure down below was worse when she was breech, it’s been a lot better since she turned. I use to always feel like I needed a wee when I walked @Kj1010

december2020 · 28/10/2020 11:25

I'm feeling pressure as well, baby had turned head down at 30 weeks and I got told he was 2/5ths engaged at 32 weeks, so I'm guessing it could be connected to that?

The good news is I don't get out of breath as easily when doing our long walks and walking uphill anymore!

Babyhope98 · 28/10/2020 11:43

Does anyone get it when they feel like they all of a sudden have a low blood sugar and need food? I’ve had it twice while out and have had to go and stuff myself with something as I feel shaky and sweaty it goes after I’ve ate..

loobeelou · 28/10/2020 12:18

@Babyhope98 I had the same thing happen last week, I had not long had breakfast either 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just went very faint, shaky and sweaty.

Now I make sure I have plenty of sugary snacks in my bag just in case.

lionsmum · 28/10/2020 12:41

@Babyhope98 I had exactly the same a few days ago and then about a week before that, stuffed myself with chocolate and had to lie down, felt as though I was going to pass out. Also feeling thirsty all of the time, no matter how much I drink it doesn't seem to go.

3rd trimester fun😅 is anyone investing in a breast pump before baby is here or just waiting to see how it goes? Interested in combi feeding so wanted to get one, been reading which ones seem best but was interested to see if anyone has one they'd recommend

Nic2908 · 28/10/2020 12:43

Hi guys, sorry been so quiet. Been struggling with my breathing to the point where I have been spending 90% of my time in bed. Rang mau who advised me to go to a and e. 18 hours later and I am still here as they want to rule out a pe. Just had a ct with contrast and cried the whole way through it. Sat waiting for my results now. Only got 40mins sleep last night so I'm tired and hormonal as well as scared. Please hope that everything is OK.

Babyhope98 · 28/10/2020 12:50

Literally all these different symptoms just want her to be here so I can get back to normal and stop analysing my body, really hope I don’t go overdue 😅 I just brought a Medela manual pump to start with was on sale on Amazon still is actually x @lionsmum

peachypetite · 28/10/2020 12:53

@december2020 the newborn nappies I have go up to 11lbs so should be fine. @Nic2908 oh no, what’s a pe? Glad you’re being seen and hope you get some answers.
