Anyone else just found out/newly pregnant?

I tested v positive this morning, with est ovulation 07.09.2020 and est due date 31.05.2021. So basically only 4 weeks pregnant?

I'm feeling only tiny symptoms - a bit bloat, crampy, fluttery tummy and a bit gassy.

Finding myself so nervous about potential miscarriage. Checking for blood every time I wee! Just exercised and worried throughout about somehow harming it Blush

Anyone else in the same position?

That's blooming annoying @SugarPlumRoar - how can they expect you to be available for 45 mins randomly?! I got a date for midwife telephone consultation. So many Scots

@ScottishLassie91 yup QEUH for the scan for me and it's far closer to me in terms of for ?birth (though I will need to think more about birth options further down the line).

Feel a bit rubbish tonight. Very very burpy and crampy and tense abdomen. Hope everything is okay

@SugarPlumRoar @TheDaydreamBelievers that's pretty much what I've been told too! Now that I think about it I'm actually gonna call them back tomorrow and explain that it's not a viable option for me with my working hours - I need an appointment time, I can't just disappear for 45 minutes randomly and hope my boss doesn't overhear my call 🙄 he'd kill me if I buggered off for an hour without explanation 🤣

SugarPlumRoar · 24/09/2020 20:29

@TheDaydreamBelievers That was my reaction. Other than you lot and DH we haven't told anyone and don't plan to until after my 12 week scan so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do if they call whilst I'm with others or if I'm on a conference call for work. I can't really say to work oh I've got to go the midwife is calling and oh yeah I'm pregnant Hmm

@mrswilso that was my thoughts too. I'm also not sure how it would work in practice, I remember from DD them asking some deeply personal questions that frankly I've got no wish to answer in the middle of Tesco or elsewhere.

I think I'm going to call and push back on them with it. I appreciate they're busy but surely they must have an appointment book that they keep.

I've been very bloated and farting so much DH has raised his eyebrows a fair few times, I have given the whole I can't help it many times, I'm sure he thinks I'm doing it deliberately so I'd happily swap you for the burping Blush

I'm glad you mentioned being a bit crampy I've had it off and on today and it feels like my c-section scar is pulling too, there's been so real sharp stabbing pains

TheDaydreamBelievers · 24/09/2020 20:30

I'm glad they gave me a date and time @SugarPlumRoar

I had a GP telephone appt back when my cycle was totally missing in action and had to force them to give me a specific time because I missed about 5 phone calls due to my own clinic appts! (I work in NHS myself)

OP posts:
TheDaydreamBelievers · 24/09/2020 20:33

Yeah @mrswilso @SugarPlumRoar not an appt you want overheard! I will make sure I'm alone in an office at work

Keep me posted @SugarPlumRoar - I'll definitely be doing the same so I'll let you know how I get on.

EwwDavid · 24/09/2020 20:35

This probably sounds super silly...

I feel a bit guilty being pregnant as my DS won’t be my only baby any more, he’ll have to share my time, love and affection with another. I won’t have as much time to play with him and I feel a bit guilty and sad.

Does anyone else feel like this, or felt like this with their second? I feel really stupid feeling like this!

SugarPlumRoar · 24/09/2020 20:39

@EwwDavid I feel exactly the same with my DD to the point I cried to DH that we had made a mistake. I obviously don't mean that as this baby is very much wanted but I do feel guilty that DD won't have me 100% although she is desperate to be a big sister

Buffbeag · 24/09/2020 22:10

@ScottishLassie91

Thanks I can't be off work as I don't get paid. I am a temp worker and no guarantee I will even have a job by time baby comes so I need to save as much money as I possibly can.

@TheDaydreamBelievers
Thanks I try to eat a cracker when I get up but it doesn't really make me feel better. I just have no appetite and then when I d eat my stomach is all over the place like I constantly need to go to the toilet 🙄

ScottishLassie91 · 25/09/2020 07:48

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'm half way between QUEH and RAH but need to go to RAH cos of where I live. I've for an epilepsy nurse as well and think they'd prefer me to transfer as that's where they're based so more support for the birth x
How you feeling today? X

@Buffbeag oh what a shame, hopefully things settle down for you x

Hows everyone doing today? 😊 xx

BabyDust13 · 25/09/2020 08:34

I'm 5+2 today and feeling pretty green this morning but I'm seeing it as a positive 🙂 I'm sure I'll get fed up with it eventually but I didn't feel sick with either of my previous loses so it must be a good thing 🤞🏼

Happy Friday everyone

hereforallthehelp · 25/09/2020 08:54

@ScottishLassie91 A week has passed since I found out and just did my other digital which has come up with 3+ weeks so I’m really happy. Will be 6 weeks next week.

Going to book an early scan in for mid October I think! Xx

HeyDW96 · 25/09/2020 09:01

I can't seem to sleep past half 4 in the morning, I'm feeling dead on my feet at work the last two days 🤦🏼‍♀️

PandemicBabyPlz · 25/09/2020 09:05

Just catching up, I’m another Scot! I’ve not phoned for my appointment yet as giving it over the weekend to do another test and then it’ll feel more real. That’s dreadful having to wait until 16 weeks, aren’t there tests that need to be done by certain dates? I’d definitely push for an earlier scan xx Hope Covid isn’t going to be used as continuous excuses for giving us all the run around!

PandemicBabyPlz · 25/09/2020 09:08

@HeyDW96 I manage to around 6ish, I keep having wild dreams though. This was the first cycle I dreamt I was pregnant several times and low and behold it’s happening eeek! My only symptom is gas and weirdly enough - hunger! I’m just so hungry Confused

TheDaydreamBelievers · 25/09/2020 09:25

I've more found it hard to get to sleep than wake, but part of that is anxiety/excitement! I did have one morning I woke at 5am this week.

Do the Scottish gals know if we need to tell our GPs or if the midwife team do that?

OP posts:
TheDaydreamBelievers · 25/09/2020 09:26

Ps - @ScottishLassie91 better today thank you! Seem to feel worse at night overall

OP posts:
ScottishLassie91 · 25/09/2020 09:37

@hereforallthehelp how exciting! Shouldn't be too log for your scan then as well! I keep counting the days to mine haha!!

@TheDaydreamBelievers glad to here you're doing better x
When I called my midwife, they said they would let my GP know. I had a separate appointment with them and he said to me 'Oh I can see you're pregnant' x

BabyDust13 · 25/09/2020 09:40

I've booked my scan for the 10th super nervous I'll be 7+3 it's going to be a long 3 weeks

TheDaydreamBelievers · 25/09/2020 10:06

Is anyone else not pursuing a private scan?

OP posts:
HeyDW96 · 25/09/2020 10:42

I haven't thought about a private scan, I've just gotten used to the idea that I'm pregnant so trying to chill these next few weeks ☺️

BabyDust13 · 25/09/2020 11:34

I'm just having one to put my mind at rest a bit after 2 MCs one I didn't find out about until 9 weeks

I know it only shows you what's going on at that time and anything can change but it would be nice to know it's progressed further than the last time

mrswilso · 25/09/2020 12:16

@SugarPlumRoar I didn't have to call the midwives again after all, I got a txt through this morning for a telephone booking appointment on Monday the 5th October 👍🏻 hope you get a date in soon!

mrswilso · 25/09/2020 12:20

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'm waiting til I speak to the midwife in a couple of weeks. I'll book a private one if I feel like it's too long to wait for the dating scan and if she thinks it would be worthwhile. I know it's not too pricey, I'm sure it's around £40-£60.

SugarPlumRoar · 25/09/2020 12:31

@mrswilso I'm glad that you've had your appointment through and it's not too far away either.

I haven't heard anything yet but by coincidence I had bloods taken last week for something different and the GP called to tell me I'm anemic and to collect a prescription for Iron and Folic Acid. I'm already suffering constipation so I'm really not looking forward to the Iron tablets, last time they were like horse tranquillisers and I couldn't keep them down.

Is anyone else suffering from constipation that had a C-section previously that feels their scar pulling when they go to the loo?
