Afternoon!
Thanks everyone for your well wishes, it’s lovely to have that reassurance that baby girl is ok despite my lack of kicks so far. Hoping they’ll come on in the next few weeks 🤞🏼 I think my next appointment is 2nd December now, which is with the midwife, so I’ll get to hear the heartbeat there (although there’s always a chance we’ll end up booking another private scan before that if my anxiety gets the better of me). December! It’s really not that far away and then March is so soon after that!
@rosiejess91 Glad you got to hear the heartbeat, how lovely!
@bubblybon20 My lower back has been killing me for weeks now, it’s awful. I make sure I have my pregnancy pillow carefully placed behind me whenever I’m seated and that seems to be helping a bit.
@DanceM1 We’re in tier three – I’m not not going out but am definitely going out a lot less. The numbers are huge in our area (500+ in 100,000) so I’m nervy to go out more than I need to really but also don’t want to completely stop and essentially go back into lockdown, so just balancing it a bit. Obviously, I’m always masked up and sanitising etc, too.
@Workingmama1 You’re so good doing your yoga every morning, I go through phases of doing a lot in a week and then nothing, it’s so sporadic. I’ve also been having physio for the last year or so on my knees, which got cancelled during lockdown and I was meant to carry on with the exercises at home but I’ve done them once this whole pregnancy and am beginning to feel it now, my knees ache when I’m lay in bed! Must get my backside in to gear and do it once a week at least (meant to be three times). I have no excuse at the moment other than it being boring 🙈
@MrsJ86 My booking appt was in person, they took bloods, did a urine sample, height and weight, asked a million and one questions to fill out the green book, and then I had a chance to ask questions, too. As Starfish says, there were a lot of questions about health history for both me, DH and our families, so worth asking your parents if there’s anything you should know (if you can) – my mum had pre-eclampsia when pregnant with me, for example, which means I’m on asprin and my dad’s diabetes means I need a glucose tolerance test.
@Starfish762 How lovely that you have the same midwife and that you have that continuity of care! I know a midwife at my hospital (she’s my DH friend’s gf) and she said she could possibly add me to her continuity of care but I’ve met her like twice so wasn’t sure about her knowing me quite as intimately as that at this point 😂 I haven’t been offered it otherwise though, but she is a different trust to my community midwife.
