I'm so relieved to hear that lots of you are the same with the eating habits at the moment. I used to be pretty healthy, and now all I want is beige food....anything with melted cheese, bread, pasta, crisps....🤦‍♀️ I'm trying to eat veggies, salad and fruit in between and taking my multivitamins, but all I want to eat is rubbish!

Sakura54 · 26/10/2020 14:40

Sorry to hear this. Take care of yourself @Simmy20

@SkyBlue20 It’s so hard thinking of names that both of you like, that’s why I find out the sex so there’s time to think and not waste effort picking a name I’ll maybe never get to use. DS came early so we weren’t even 100% yet lol. I think boy names are much harder.

I think Aria got more popular because of Arya from Game of Thrones, but I think it’s nice. Agreed about having to spell your name immediately after saying it and being used to it. People see and hear my name yet still sometimes call me the wrong name as it’s similar to a normal name. Infact my first and last name rhymes with a celebrity’s and that’s what people call out at hospital/dentist appts sometimes which is odd but funny.

@DanceM1 I shamelessly scoffed 2 Krispy Kremes the other day. The only time I’ve stopped eating sweet stuff is when I was diagnosed with GD. It took a lot of willpower, but as soon as I had DS, I selected cakes for dessert for my hospital food everyday lol. I don’t have it ATM so dreading my second GTT in Dec.

I also noticed @Workingmama1 's spacious-looking nice kitchen. Mine is tiny and I don’t even have a dining room and I’m supposed to fit myself, DH and 2 kids!?

@SmileyT yay for your scan and yes we want to see bump pics lol.

20 week scan done and everything looks good, I'm so relieved. Back at 24 weeks for first growth scan and had to have my bloods redone to check my anaemia. My blood pressure was high but they put it down to nerves for scan. Here's the pic I put on Facebook to announce it. This was the best of a bad bunch she wouldn't stop moving or screwing up the pictures 😆

@JoJo58995 @Sakura54 I love it! Ok I feel plenty relieved now 🤣 seems like we all enjoy a bit of beige/cake at the moment!

I'm also relieved because since this mornings panic about lack of movement baby had a really good wriggle a little while ago. I just love it and wish it wouldn't stop all day 🤣

@dipsy77 congratulations! Very cute picture too 🥰

Workingmama1 · 26/10/2020 16:11

@simmy20 so so sorry. I hope they are taking care of you. We are all hear for you too xxx

Workingmama1 · 26/10/2020 16:21

@smileyT and @Dipsy77 yay to good 20 week scans! They are coming in quick and fast now. Good luck tomorrow @SkyBlue20!

@poppy10121 hope you feel better soon, being pregnant is hard enough without a bug too...

Absolutely banging headache today, I have had to give in and have a paracetamol, I've had a headache for the last few days but it was verging on migrane territory so had to take some pain killers to try to ease it. I think I remember them from my daughter around this time too...

We've not had any conversations about names yet, I think in some ways it's us trying to protect ourselves after last time and the bleeding. Maybe we will after our gender scan on Friday. I've got a few in my head for a girl (Rose, Edith or Poppy - my daughter is Jasmine so quite like the idea of keeping a floral theme and Edith is my mums middle name) but none really for boys, maybe Theodore (Theo) but not sure. I have an unusual name and while I don't like spelling it constantly I do like it being unique (especially for a girl if they change their name if they get married - keeping my identity through my first name was a key reason I was happy to change my surname) though none of my ideas so far are that unusual.

RosieJess91 · 26/10/2020 17:00

We like different names. But Harry is the boys name we are going for. Girls name, we keep arguing over. He likes Summer, I like Lyla. We both love Lyra but have a niece called Lara and feel they're too similar. Choices... yikes!

Pugprincess · 26/10/2020 17:26

Evening all.

@Simmy20 I’m so sorry to read your sad news. I hope you are as ok as you can be.

There’s been so much sad news recently I’ve heard of 3 losses this past week of people I know. One being someone at work today. It upset me that much I got sent home for today. 💔

@SmileyT and @Dipsy77 congratulations on your scans and lovely announcement Dipsy! She’s very cute!

@SkyBlue20 good luck with your scan tomorrow!

In light of all the sad news I’ve heard recently I’ve booked myself a private scan for Sunday. I have however felt two lots of flutters so far today.

Names wise I have mine picked out lol. Hubby hasn’t objected so for a boy I like Alfie (I keep seeing it everywhere at the moment-a sign maybe?) Infact just today on a dog walk I bumped into a lady and we got talking and she was also preg, (she lost her first baby conceived via ivf after 5/6 years of ttc!) so our stories were very similar as she has now conceived naturally, anyway, her dog was called Alfie 😯 I just thought what a weird coincidence. Anyway for a girl we would use Iris as that’s DH grandma name. I have middle names picked too lol, Alfie James (my brothers name) and Iris Dawn (my mums name) xxx

Poppy10121 · 26/10/2020 17:47

@Workingmama1 I love floral names for girls, Jasmine is so pretty and Rose, I also like Daisy. Theo is cute too!

@Pugprincess I’ve liked the name Alfie for a while, think it’s getting quite popular too! The couple we bought our house from had a baby called Alfie though so it put me off a bit as there’s something kind of spooky about another baby Alfie in the same nursery somehow!? Maybe I’m being mad!

I’ve been back and forth about booking another private scan for reassurance before 20 weeks but husband has convinced me not to so I’m trying to be strong! I think coming up to the due date of the original pregnancy is giving me the fear again but realistically I only have to wait 3 weeks so will try my best (and then spend the £60 on something nice for myself instead if I manage it!)

Poppy10121 · 26/10/2020 17:49

@Pugprincess took a while for my slow baby brain to twig that Iris is also a floral name and a lovely unusual one!

Pugprincess · 26/10/2020 18:24

Haha @Poppy10121 to be honest I didn’t even click when you were all discussing floral names 🙈 going to blame our baby brains 🧠😁 I’m getting my full use out of that excuse 😂 yeah it’s a rare name these days. Very old. My bet is I’m having a boy. I just think il shorten it to Alf which is also cute. I see the name everywhere x

Lu93 · 26/10/2020 19:00

Aw I love floral names too! I like way more girl names than boys names and everyone seems adamant I’m having a boy... 🧐 but I love the name Primrose and like that she’d get Prim for short. Lily was always on my list but my friend recently had a little girl called Lily so that’s a no go. Thea is also so cute. The only boy name that me and my husband agree on is a Teddy! So we better get thinking! @Pugprincess I’ve also caved and booked a private scan for Sunday I feel like my 20 week scan feels so far away and the anxiety of being too good to be true is creeping in so 1 o’clock Sunday, hopefully I’ll be able to relax again xx

SkyBlue20 · 26/10/2020 19:35

So lovely how many of you like Aria, thank you ladies!

@Poppy10121 sending love on a hard week. Hope you feel better soon, too. Thanks for the bedroom compliment - it was tidy for once 😂

@Sakura54 How funny that people confuse your name with the celeb’s - it must just be what their brain expects to read!

@Dipsy77 Congratulations on a good scan! Such a cute picture too 🥰

@Workingmama1 both my mum and I have floral names and if my mum and dad ever had another they were going to go for another floral name, too.

@RosieJess91 Lovely names! Lyra was top of my DH’s list, too.

@Pugprincess I’m so sorry to hear about all of those losses 😔 Hope everyone (you included) is doing ok. Alfie and Iris are lovely!

@Lu93 Lovely names, too.

Love all the private scan booking ☺️

Feeling surprisingly relaxed about tomorrow’s scan - it’s like my emotions are ok but my head keeps saying ‘what if?’ if that makes sense? Will see how I feel tomorrow though 😬

SkyBlue20 · 26/10/2020 20:05

Those of you that have had your 20 week scan, did you have bloods taken afterwards or was it just the scan? Just trying to figure out how long I might be there.

DanceM1 · 26/10/2020 20:27

@skyBlue20 just the scan!

I cant remember who said it but Teddy is our favourite boys name too. It is SO hard to think of names as a teacher because soooo many names remind me of certain children! We will decide in the end!

I'm jealous of the scans coming up now 🤣 I may have to have another private one soon ha

SmileyT · 26/10/2020 20:29

Thanks for all the well wishes ladies 🥰

@ew1990 how did it go at the hospital? x

@SkyBlue20 I love Aria definitely makes me think of GoT, she was my fave character 😂 what time is your scan tomorrow? My scan was just a little longer than my 12week scan but no bloods so overall I was there for less time I think. Also I forgot to get my MATB1 so a reminder to grab yours when you're there if they offer it xx

@Poppy10121 and @Workingmama1 hope you feel better soon x

@Sakura54 I'm so curious about your name now 🤔

@Dipsy77 yay glad your girlies are doing well ❤️

@Pugprincess ahh sorry you had so much sad news, not what you need on a Monday but glad you came home and looked after yourself x

Love all the name chat so many lovely names... we'd picked out our boys name before I fell pregnant again but I don't let other half say it and don't say it to bump think I'll start calling him it after 30weeks maybe 🙈 our girls list looked something like; Ava Isabella, Esme? Maia? Elsie May? Isabella Maia(Maya), Amaya. I was pretty sure I wouldn't have one so never really nailed it down.

My OH has a pretty standard first name and surname like top 20 I think, my name probably wouldn't be found in the top 1000 😂 and my surname is double-barrelled, I hate having to spell out all 22 letters when I call somewhere so would love a more common name but OH would've loved something original but think we found a name in the middle, top 100 but I've never met anyone with the name ❤️

ew1990 · 26/10/2020 20:38

@smileyt I waited an hour for a urine sample test and a blood pressure check! All Was ok though. They just said the protein From last time can be caused by a number of things like if you have discharge in your urine? I'm so glad I didn't spend all weekend worked up for the first time in this pregnancy I was actually very relaxed about it!

Loving all the name suggestions! Starting to feel very real now

bubblybon20 · 26/10/2020 21:16

@Pugprincess my eldest is Alfie, and we always call him Alf. And normally Alfred when his been a pain 🤣

Good luck for your scan tomorrow @SkyBlue20 💗

Lollol86 · 26/10/2020 21:36

@Simmy20 I'm so sorry, sending you massive hugs. Look after yourself xx

Simmy20 · 26/10/2020 23:10

Thanks everyone. I'm coping better than I ever imagined i would. I think cause I never really invested myself into this pregnancy too much with heavy bleeding and clots from the very start. It's still a struggle and DH and I are devastated by it but still coping. I just hope we can try again soon. It took us 7 months to fall pregnant again between mc and this one so I really hope that doesn't happen again. We are trying for our first baby and I already feel old (32). We had only told 2 close friends, my parents and our works so not a huge base around us as we didn't want to tell people until we knew what was going on but will likely now tell more after the fact.

I hope everyone has wonderful rest of pregnancies and everything goes well for you all

Pugprincess · 26/10/2020 23:59

Hi @Simmy20 I’m guessing you won’t be coming on here so much now? But there is a ttc after mc group if you want some support while trying. A few of us here graduated from that group originally and it’s lovely supportive group like this one. I hope it happens super quick for you this time and hopefully see you back here with good news in the not too distant future ❤️

@bubblybon20 Ahhh that’s amazing I didn’t know that was your sons name! I just love it. Hoping my DH doesn’t have a last minute change of mind.

@Lu93 ah great to have scans on the same day, mines at 11.30am. How far gone will you be on Sunday? I will be 16+1.

@SkyBlue20 glad you aren’t feeling too nervous and not listening to your brain even when it tries to question you. Aria is lovely, my school colleague/friends daughter is an Aria too.

@ew1990 fantastic news about your further tests! Didn’t know that could happen from discharge! Good to know incase anymore us have this happen too. Xx

@Sakura54 like @SmileyT I’m curious about your name. Would it give it away to tell us the celebs name 🤪

SkyBlue20 · 27/10/2020 05:27

Thanks, @DanceM1 @SmileyT! Scan is at 1:20pm so it’s going to be a long morning (am taking the full day off work as just didn’t think my head would be in it).

@Simmy20 I’m glad you’re doing as ok as you can be and wish you so much luck on your journey - hope to see you back here sooner rather than later. Big hugs xx

Smilingdonkey · 27/10/2020 08:08

Morning everyone! Sorry I have been lost! I took a little break from social media as I've not been very well and have been completely exhausted and just needed some space. I had an undiognosed UTI (because my midwife is crap and failed to tell me I had inconclusive urine results for 4 weeks 😬🙄) and I ended up in MAU with awful pain and having to have a few days off work. Feeling a better now and have had some hardcore antibiotics which seem to have helped.

I'm getting loads of movements everyday now which is so nice and reassuring ! I have my second attempt at a scan on Friday so hopefully I'll get a picture and the gender properly confirmed then - although I'll be 22 weeks 😩

Have you seen this site for names ... It tells you how many babies have been born every year with any name you type in ... it's a good indicator if you want to avoid really popular ones!

names.darkgreener.com/

We don't have any real possibilities for names yet - with DD we didn't decide for about a week after she was born! I think I feel like I need to meet them before I give them a name ...

It really does feel like such a huge responsibility !

Smilingdonkey · 27/10/2020 08:09

@simmy I'm so sorry for your loss. Reach out if you need help xxxx

Smilingdonkey · 27/10/2020 08:10

Did that link work? It doesn't seem to for me? What am I doing wrong?!
