Does anyone else feel like they’re already showing a bit?

I’m slim (size 10 and 5ft7) but I don’t have a flat belly and often get bloated. But it looks way bigger than normal and a different shape sort of?? Am I mad?? I’m 7-8 weeks right now.

CatLady20 · 02/10/2020 16:07

@Cafeaulait27 thanks for this. I'm almost 9 weeks now and my jeans don't fit me anymore. I thought I was just going crazy. They're really uncomfortable on my lower stomach area. I've been off this week but back to work on Monday and I've no idea what to wear!

EthelTheGoose · 02/10/2020 16:16

Hope it's okay to join this thread, I'm 10 weeks, and had my booking appointment on Monday, 12 week scan due on the 16th with an expected due date of 1st May 2021.

This is my first pregnancy, and I'm suffering really badly with hyperemesis and I'm also freezing all of the time. I had to tell work very early on as I'm throwing up in the kitchen sink between meetings! I'm so greatful to still be working from home.

I don't think it's fully sunk in yet, but I think the scan will help!

Mrsp2be22 · 02/10/2020 16:38

I basically live in my joggers or leggings at home! But when I go back to the office in a few weeks I will also struggle with what to wear!

But defo agree that I'm feeling 'rounder' than normal. I'm not sure if it's all the carbs I'm eating because I can't seem to eat anything else!

I have found something that works for my nausea = ice lollies!

leftitlate37 · 02/10/2020 16:49

@Cafeaulait27 yes!! Same height and size as u and have has my top button undone on my work trousers when been in this week! At home living in pjs or trackies! I get a dodgy tummy quite a lot and often bloated which I've only recently realised seems to be quite cycle related! V bloated at mo and by end of day it's much worse.

Cafeaulait27 · 02/10/2020 17:59

Just went to the toilet and had bright red blood on the tissue 🙁 mixed in with discharge. I’ve had brown/yellow discharge for about 10 days. I called the triage number and she just said use a pad and monitor, and if it gets heavy go to a&e.

It feels like they really don’t want to offer scans. I said i would like a scan really to see what’s going on, she said she can give me the number for EPU but they aren’t open til Monday 8am. I text my midwife but she hasn’t replied, she is part time and said always to text her as she’s on appointments all the time.

I guess they all say the same, just monitor it ☹️

Haven’t had sex or anything in a few days, so not sure why I would be bleeding. This is the day when my period would’ve been due so I don’t know if that’s got anything to do with it. I feel crampy but don’t know if I’m imagining it cos I’m so worried.

I was crying down the phone and can’t stop crying now, it’s just such a shock to see red blood ☹️

DiabeticFirstBaby · 02/10/2020 19:35

@Cafeaulait27 That's scary to see, i had some brown discharge at 5 weeks. It doesn't make you feel any better when they say just to wear a pad and monitor though as you want to know what's going on. I guess the other thing you could do is go to A&E if you get any more bleeding if your EPU isn't open till Monday. They told me that it can be normal to have some bleeding in early pregnancy for a range of reasons. xx

Cafeaulait27 · 02/10/2020 20:09

I just hope it doesn’t get worse 🙁 I’ve put a pad in now and just waiting to see what happens.

My midwife texted back and said don’t worry, but if it doesn’t stop call EPU on Monday morning 🙁

she said that if I’m worried I could take a pregnancy test? But I was thinking that might confuse matters? Surely I might still get a positive even if I’m miscarrying, and if I’m not I’ve heard tests can get lighter the further on you get? Xxx

DiabeticFirstBaby · 02/10/2020 20:18

fingers crossed you don't get any more bleeding. Have you got any pain? Just monitor and see what happens. If you get heavy bleeding/pain you should go to A&E, that's what i was advised. How many weeks are you? I can't see how taking a pregnancy test would help?! Easy to say but try not to stress as that won't do the baby any good. It will hopefully just be a bit of bleeding and that's it.

Cafeaulait27 · 02/10/2020 21:25

@DiabeticFirstBaby thank you ❤️ I felt a bit crampy earlier but I don’t know if that was just through worry! I’m so tired from the hormones and I’m really glad the midwife and triage told me to rest - it’s like sometimes you almost need someone to give you permission and say it’s ok to do nothing.

Just going to try to chill this weekend and hopefully there won’t be any more blood. Will keep you all updated xxx

DiabeticFirstBaby · 03/10/2020 09:23

@Cafeaulait27 hope you managed to rest last night, how's things today? any more bleeding? how many weeks did you say you were? x

Cafeaulait27 · 03/10/2020 10:15

@DiabeticFirstBaby hey thanks for checking in. I’m 8 weeks. This morning there’s still nothing on the pad, but after I did a poo (sorry) there was red when I wiped again. And just now I went for a wee again (still needing to pee all the time) and there was a bit of red and a small clot about the size of a grain of rice. I don’t know what that means, it didn’t look like a foetus or anything (sorry for the detail) I don’t know what to think 🙁

DiabeticFirstBaby · 03/10/2020 10:25

It's hard to know what to do and think isn't it. To us it seems so urgent and serious but the EPU seem so laid back about a 'bit' of bleeding and only seem to get concerned if you are bleeding a lot and filling pads. I bet it feels like a long time till Monday. 😕

mylittlebean2019 · 03/10/2020 12:59

Hey ladies how is everyone doing? I went for an early scan yesterday as was getting anxious that I have pretty much no symptoms (other than vivid dreams and feeling cold all the time). Got see the little bean with a strong heartbeat! Put me at 6+2 days so bean was only just over 6mm long which seems crazy to have something so small with a heartbeat. Trying to hold back temptation to book another scan maybe at 9 weeks. I’m going away at the end of the month so will miss my 12 week scan and the hospital won’t offer me one then until I’m 16 weeks! Seems like a lifetime away!! Xx

Cafeaulait27 · 03/10/2020 13:27

Great news @mylittlebean2019 ! If you can’t make you’re 12 week scan I would definitely go for a private... will you miss your screening tests if you miss the 12 week scan though?

I feel a little better than I did last night but still worried about the bleeding. I just want it to stop and everything to be ok! So much uncertainty and I’m reluctant to pay for another private scan as its money that can be saved for the baby! But at the same time it would be good to have peace of mind... but then, I’m a bit scared of going and getting bad news. Cos that means it’s really over

CatLady20 · 04/10/2020 10:14

@Cafeaulait27 how are you doing today?

mummabubs · 04/10/2020 10:56

Hope you're feeling ok today @Cafeaulait27. I can't remember if I mentioned it earlier in the thread (apologies if I'm repeating myself) but with my first I had bright red bleeding at 8 weeks for a few days, I was referred to the EPU for a scan and everything was ok. They never worked out what caused it, but I remember feeling really scared in the interim. Fingers crossed for you xx

Cafeaulait27 · 04/10/2020 11:15

Hey @CatLady20 feeling a little reassured today, thank you for checking in! I haven’t had any red blood since first thing on Saturday morning which I think was left over from the Friday night when it first happened. Since then I’ve had brown discharge when I wipe, which I’ve been getting on and off since I found out anyway (even before my private scan which showed a heartbeat). I haven’t had any cramps apart from very mild ones which I think is only from me tensing my muscles down there through worry.

I still have sore boobs and feel tired which I’m really pleased about... I hope everything is ok in there.

How are you doing today? Xxx

Cafeaulait27 · 04/10/2020 11:20

@mummabubs ah thank you for letting me know, that is reassuring! ☺️ Now my bleeding is brown again I feel like epu will say no to a scan (which I guess I have to believe is actually a good thing!)

I really hope my outcome is the same as yours. I’m just trying to weigh up whether to pay for another private scan or just wait until 28th October for my dating scan. I feel like even if I have a private scan next week and everything is fine, I’m probably still going to worry until my dating scan anyway!

I will keep you all updated on what happens. Hopefully the bleeding doesn’t come back. I’m going to text my midwife again on Monday as well as calling EPU, and let her know what’s going on, hopefully she will reassured me.

I feel like it’s a good sign that I’ve had no pain and not passed any tissue... and the blood hasn’t gone on my pad at all. But I worry that it might still have died and I just haven’t passed it... but then that could be the case even without any blood at all.

I don’t like the first trimester at all!

Thank you for your support. How are you? Xx

Rascalia86 · 04/10/2020 13:15

Hello all. Hope everyone is doing ok, or as ok as they can be with the symptoms you're experiencing. I feel rough today, hungry and sick in equal measure, drinking schweppes ginger ale like its water.

CatLady20 · 04/10/2020 14:20

@Cafeaulait27 very happy for you! So scary sometimes, wish we could all have a sonogram at home everyday just to see lol. I'm having a good day today, just feeling tired but have had enough energy to make soup for the first time in ages. I'm in Northern Ireland so they do the booking appointment and first scan on the same day. I'm booked for 21st Oct so I'll be 11w4 then. Haven't told anyone except DH as we obviously don't know we're really pregnant until first scan. Just seems ages away!!

@Rascalia86, have naps if you can, they really help me on queasy days!

Rascalia86 · 04/10/2020 15:09

@CatLady20 I'm napping as much as I can 😁, but we've just gotten a kitten too and he's decided he likes to pull at my hair. Thankfully my other half is good at distracting him too, so I think a nap is on the plan for this afternoon. 😁

Pepsioften100 · 04/10/2020 15:45

Hey. Due late May I think, booked an early scan for 15th and midwife appointment on 20th so both between 8-9 weeks I think.
Not had any obvious symptoms until this morning when I felt really sick but it passed and I’ve been fine since. Struggling to believe it’s real?!

Cafeaulait27 · 05/10/2020 10:17

Hey guys, red bleeding still stopped but ive had brown discharge for 2 weeks now so called EPU.

They were really lovely and have booked me in for a scan on Thursday morning. I’m really scared that I will get bad news ☹️

Hoping and praying for good news 🤞

Michellefamily · 05/10/2020 11:00

Hi congrats to all in this chat. I'm currently pregnant with my 6th due May 23rd. I tested 4 days b4 my missed period as I had nausea for the week and sore breasts. My nausea isn't getting any better. I'm totally freeking out as my eldest will be 18 and youngest 6 next week. No one else knows yet about this pregnancy apart from my hubby as I'm to anxious to tell anyone incase something goes wrong. Also freeking out as part of me thinks it could be twins due to have symptoms so early and tested showing up so early.
