I am just about to go to bed... feeling cream crackered for some reason, even though have had a relatively lazy day. I think being on your own with kids is tiring though. DP says it is very hot in Spain and he has been swimming in the sea .

Night all xx

Lets have no contractions until Monday then .

fettleandbabyfettle · 07/10/2007 18:09

How is everyone doing this evening? good weekends? I'm partied out, DD had a party yesterday and another one today!! Little Toby slept through both, so everything thinks I've got a beautiful boy - I knew that already, but it is nice when other people compliment your children, isn't it?!![proud!]

He'll no doubt scream all night to make up for it! DH has to leave at 5.30am tomorrow to go away until Thursday, so hopefully feeding will coincide nicely or else it could be a very disjointed night!!

Greedy and Honey how you both doing? not long now until your childcare/birthing partners are back in action!!! Hope you are both not too tired and fed-up.

My mum's back again and it is so great having an au pair back!! But I'm off to help with the water balloons in the bath!!

Hi fettle- and everyone else

Good to hear that Toby has been much admired today. I saw Greedy had posted on the AN thread today with NO NEWS! I was just having a snoop at who had had their babies, recognised a couple of names. Weird to imagine all these new babies transforming the lives of so many families. The cycle of life and all that!

Feeling pretty tired again tonight, spent the day down the park, and then buying shoes and coats for DC. The SPD pains are playing up big time tonight . I knew I had done too much walking today, but I can't stand being cooped up indoors.

MIL rang me tonight which was sweet of her... she is so worried that i am going to go into labour without DP here. Told me to ring her anytime of the day or night.

going to flop in front of the box in a bit, there are a couple of things on that might be worth a watch...

fettleandbabyfettle · 07/10/2007 20:02

Sorry to hear you're in pain, Honey - I absolutely hated that part of being pregnant, the pain in my hips, particularly after a hard-days shopping - it's hard enough spending money, without having real pain too!!! Hope you manage to relax and sleep well. If it's any conciliation, I'm finally pain free on that front and can sit in anyway I like (including on my knees on the floor! but that means I have no excuse not to play jigsaws with DD anymore!!!!).

hope you enjoy your evening in front of the telly - I've sky-plused strictly come dancing and then there's the rugby to watch - being a mix of Dutch/Hungarian with a tiny amount of yorkshire born in Scotland, I obviously support Scotland in these things!!!

Must get supper out of the oven and speed eat before round 7 of the evening feeding ritual!!!

Hey ladies back from hols and attempting to catch up. Hope everyone?s well!

honeyapple · 07/10/2007 20:48

Thanks Fettle . Glad to hear that you are now pain free, I really hope that I will have an equally quick recovery. I know that some women continue to have SPD issues for a while after giving birth . It's such a weird thing what hormones can do to your body. It's bad enough in the evening being tired without being in pain as well... makes me rather cranky, which isnt good when you are trying to put children to bed.

Mrs- glad to have you back . Did you have a lovely time?

Bodkin · 07/10/2007 21:01

Hi all

Aww, Fettle - sounds like Toby was a good lad for you today - hope he gives you some kip tonight as well, and that you're not too disturbed by DHs early manouevres.

Buggymad - great to hear from you. Sounds like you're getting through things, one day at a time! Connie looks a real sweetie, and your boys look so proud. Can't believe she's shuffling around already! I think you'll have to keep your eyes on that one, else she'll be shuffling off to the kitchen and raiding the biscuit tin before you know it

Greedy Have you had a lovely weekend? Did you get the urge to push the lawnmower round the garden? It's strange the transition from summer to autumn isn't it? Well, it's been lovely having a good old gas, any other news to air?

(flipping heck that took my poor brain ages to do )

Chooster - how are you and your non-crying baby My poor little petal is definitely in pain after a possett/puke, and it seems to be getting worse, not better. Can i get infant Gav. over the counter or do I need prescription? She's been doing some real "caustic" (as DP calls them) screams today, akin to when she had her first jab, so it must be really agony for her

Re booze - i read on here somewhere that it leaves your milk in the same way it leaves your blood stream, so if you have a few drinks early on in the evening, and baby doesn't wake to feed until, say 1 or 2am, then that's fine, all the booze should have gone by then. Only small quantities go in to the milk anyway, so it's only if you're actually getting properly sloshed that it's a problem.

Hi Rainbowdays - blimey, your travels around the South seem pretty mammoth - what line of work are you in..... I'm guessing, ummmm, a spy?

Fettle / Greedy / Honey - anyone else with young girls - is it just my DD, or do they just NEVER shut up? She is CONSTANTLY chatting/singing/general noise coming out of her cakehole. I'm not joking when I say she has been silent for the sum total of 30 seconds today. Its bloody exhausting

MrsMcJnr · 07/10/2007 21:08

Ohhh Greedy, so sorry about the sweep, you must be seriously pi**ed off!

Fettle ? must have been fun taking Toby into work to show him off I do admire your dedication, fancy saying you feel excited about going back! ages away and so much fun to be had in the meantime as you say don?t tell me that champagne and breast milk don?t mix, that was going to be my excuse for only drinking that!! Hope you had a better day today

Honey ? sounds like your DS will be a well sought after husband! Such wonderful training! hope the pain isn?t too bad. I can sort of empathise but not to the same degree, I thought I had sciatica but I now think it might be PGP, I have such a deep, agonizing pain in the lower bit of my back on the right hand side and it?s been getting worse Holiday was lovely and relaxing thanks

Bodders ? how are you? How?s Nelly?s impetigo?

Great to hear things are settling down Buggymad you take care now!!

Chooster ? have a wonderful time at Centreparcs, really hope the weather stays good for you

Seaside ? not the type of little visitor you really wanted!! How are you?

Rainbowdays ? sounds like you are on a British tour ? any Scottish dates?!

Well, I came home to a lame pussy cat my nine year old, Tia is limping and I think it?s the same leg she snagged her Achilles on when DH had his op in November work don?t know yet but I will have to take tomorrow off to take her to the vet and for an x-ray, poor puddy!. DH starts his new job tomorrow so he can?t do it. Don?t think I?ll be popular at work but hey, I have responsibilities!

Felt crappy today, lousy sleep last night ? back was sore

fettleandbabyfettle · 07/10/2007 21:10

nope not jus your DD bodders - only time my DD is quiet is when eating yummy food (tends to talk through it if not too yummy!![manners!!] and when asleep!

chats away to herself if noone else around as well!!

Mrs - great to have you back - did you have good time??

Honey - it did take a bit longer this time around to get better, with DD the pain went overnight. I think it is pretty rare for it to last and I think you have to have been pretty bad while pg as well.

Scotland's losing -

greedygreedyguzzler · 07/10/2007 21:19

very good bodders!!!! i liked that!!!! but no, no news from me!! and my ds is a MILLION times worse than my dd with talking.....he NEVER shuts up either!!!! i think dd is quite quiet cos she has never had a chance to get a word in edgeways. she is just getting to a stage where she is startoing to get a lot more chatty and they both try and talk over each other all the time now..................ds gets so frustrated if he is trying to tell me something and dd is talking to me cos he worries he is going to forget what he has to say. havent figured out what to do about them both talking to me at the same time yet.....but at least they chatter away to each other now too which is so cute!!!

fettle - glad your mum is back to help you. mine is back tonight/tom morning........so i wonder if subconsciously my body has been holding off going inot labour until i know she is back???

i am starting to think i am not actually pg afterall........maybe it has all been a big mistake....

honeyapple - i have been getting horrible SPD pains for the past 2 weeks or so too. turning over in bed is agony and walking for any distance really hurts too. have you had these pains with your previous pgs? at least now i can relate to my patients a bit more when i go back to work. this is the first time i have really suffered from aches and pains in pregnancy. i reckon my baby will be MASSIVE by the time it pops out!!

rainbowdays - so do you get to see your family at all at the moment or not? must be really tough for you.

hope everyone else had a fab weekend......not looking forward to tomorrow, its nice to have dh around to help with the kids when i am so big and fat and immobile and he will be working tomorrow so wont be able to help. mondays are busy days too...............poor little ol' me hey??!!!

oh and hello mrs! can tbelieve you are back already and i still havent had my baby!! hope you had a fab time!

greedygreedyguzzler · 07/10/2007 21:23

crossed with everyone! whoops!

greedygreedyguzzler · 07/10/2007 21:23

tv is bollocks tonight isnt it! even resorted to wife swap!

honeyapple · 07/10/2007 22:14

Louis Theroux was quite funny... anybody watch it? Some seriously freaky americans. Any of you lot contemplate plastic surgery??? Yikes is all i can say.

Greedy- Never had any pains with previous pregancies... this one is turning into a bit of a nightmare... think it may have turned me off the thought of having more kids!

Bodders- at your post.

Mrs- hope your cat is ok... personally not a big fan of cats... or rather the ones that sh*t in my garden , but do hope it's nothing serious. Will you take your cats to Spain?

Fettle- Scotland put up a good fight...

Ready · 07/10/2007 22:37

You still here Greedy?? Hope you are ok.

seaside72 · 08/10/2007 09:50

MrsMc - lovely to see you back - I am taking the holiday baton from you So sorry about your puss cat Hope the vets is OK today.

fettle - how lovely to take Toby around for a good bit of showing off - I cant wait to do that Glad your Mum is back to help out. LOL about chatty DD

bodkin - hope Isla's posseting is getting better poor mite - It must be so uncomfortable LOL at your greedy post - very inventive!!

Chooster - you have prob left by now but hope you have a fab time at center parcs

honeyapple - glad you did not beat greedy to it this weekend and now you have your DH home again So sorry about your pain - I am just starting to get really achey hips at night and a bit of lower back pain and it is bad enough - let alone what you (and fettle) have had to put up with Hope there is some relief soon -in the form of a baby and instant pain free status )

Buggymad - like the new name! Can't believe Connie is wriggling her way across the room already - sounds like you are going to have a handful there!! Hope you are feeling OK - the pics are gorgeous and you are a fab mummy

Rainbowdays - hope the time passes quick away from your family Sounds like far west Cornwall is a bit beyond your South England area!! But I may be up in London a couple of times between now and Xmas if you are still around then? So glad your scan was all good - hope the sickness is subsiding.

Ready - Big waves if you are reading - if I dont get chance before I go will send you a catch up email as soon as I get back xxxx

Better go and finish my mammoth to do list before leaving - Stay healthy and happy everyone - and special hugs for greedy

Morning

Seaside- have a great trip, how long are you away for?

Greedy- where are you? Are you having the sweep today then? Or is that not necessary anymore?

Boring supermarket trip ahead of me today, totally out of everything- where does all the food go? Poor DC had some rather sad looking packed lunches this morning!

Better start thinking about getting the plastic sheeting and other bits and bobs the MW requested...

Hope all of you with your little babes had a good and peaceful nights sleep.

Chooster · 08/10/2007 11:41

OK - times up Greedy - Centreparcs beckons and I can't wait any more! I really hope for your DP's sake that Marcy is here by Friday when I get back else he'll really be getting it in the neck I'm sure! . Seriously though, good luck and I look forward to hearing all the details when I get back.

Not much time to read all the posts but love your post to Greedy Bodkin!!! .

And welcome back MrsMc...

Off now, see you later

Chooster · 08/10/2007 11:42

Oh and happy holiday Seaside!!! (It is a holiday isn't it???)

Hi firsty lovely to hear from you!
hope you all settle down quickly in your new home and that Ty continues to do some good sleeping for you. Those pesky jabs are horrid arent they, i remember i got my mum to hold my DS cos I couldnt bear it, but it is something I really believe in doing, all for the greater good etc. Terrible when you hear of so many kids getting measles at the moment cos parents arent taking them for the MMR.

Update, well...

Poor Greedy is overdue as you know- although havent heard from her today, i think she is having a sweep today .

me- well my home birth is now on the cards as I have just hit 37 wk mark. Getting excited and anxious now.

You know I could really do with an update of the due dates of the other graduates...
