Hiya...

well a good trick or treating was had by all... but no baby arrived to add extra excitement to the party . Had quite a good crowd of kids knocking on our door too... have taken in the pumpkin now though as dont want to encourage the over 12s.

Really think I am destined for a November baby now! There are only 4 hours left to squeeze him into October...

Still getting cramps but nothing regular which is rather boring. Thanks Greedy for your words of condolence!

fettleandbabyfettle · 31/10/2007 20:37

Oh Honey - how frustrating for you! but think how cool it will be to have a November, December and January baby!! Can't be many people who can say they have consecutive month children!! For baby number 4, you'll have to go for a Feb or Oct baby!!

We've had a few trick or treaters - luckily I remembered to ask DH to pop by and get some treats on his way home - although one group of young teenage girls wanted to take Toby as their treat!

think we might be turning the corner of my "slow" baby - he had a good period of happy awake time this afternoon, sitting in his car seat "talking" and smiling to his hanging toy - very sweet. couldn't take my eyes off him, which was a bit rude considering I was at friend's for the afternoon (DD's first proper play date with another girl!!! - went really well! and it was so nice for me to have a good natter to another mother too).

HV thinks Toby probably has silent reflux (may be colic, but less likely) from what I've been describing, which I suspected - very weird that it is following the same pattern as DD. Had a good chat with her - never thought i'd actually like my HV!! Got a score of 1/30 for PND questionnaire, but then I am feeling extremely bouyant at the moment, despite finally sucumbing to this cold - long may it last (the happiness NOT the cold!!).

Anyway, enough about me!

Buggy - so pleased to hear from you and to hear that all is well, if busy in the buggy household - Connie sounds delightful. Enjoy her while you have the chance - it hit me this afternoon how quickly these baby baby days pass and DH is adamant I'm not allowed another!

Chooster/Blooders - I know what you mean re bottles - I so want Toby to take a bottle, but I don't want to risk him stopping BF - as I love doing it (although not so great at BF in public this time around for some reason!). Must try and express some and then I can at least give the bottle a go, but even that might go wrong if he prefers the bottles? tricky?!

Bodkin - also you've made me feel better admitting that your libido is still non-existent - I thought I was bad to get to 6 weeks and still be completely unfrisky - DH still tries, but he's not too demanding thank goodness -hope it comes back before long - but it might be the best form of contraception, if I won't get the coil fitted (I'm only joking, if any of you think I'm serious!

Mrs - I hope you're day got better? I was thinking of you this mornign when I heard about the crash on the M8 - I really hoped you or your DH weren't involved! Strange we've never met, but I still worried about you!!
What is a jumperoo???

Greedy - hope your trick or treating went well? How is little Marcy getting on? Gaining lots of weight? Toby is now 11lb 14.5 oz, so he's gaining fast, greedyguzzler himself!!!

big waves to everyone else - have to go feed him (yet again!!!!)

Morning...

Think I might not post again until this blooming baby arrives... I remember Greedy got fed up of coming on here with no news!

I reckon it will be the weekend now as just dont feel like labour is going to happen anytime soon... so I guess the sweep didnt work as MW said it would work within 48hrs (if it was going to).

Fettle- I guess it is quite cool with the birthdays being consecutive months.

Right, now I am seriously bored... might go and march around some shops... are there any last minute things I need??

fettleandbabyfettle · 01/11/2007 10:45

Don't stop posting honey - we'll stop asking!

Let's talk about the weather - beautiful again here today!

have you started your christmas shopping?

Firsty - great to hear from you - Ty sounds like he's doing well - sleeping through - can't ever imagine that from Toby!! What date are you due back at work? Keep at it persuading DH!!! How are the DSDs with Ty BTW - calming down??

honeyapple - just read your post about bringing the pumpkin in and realised i never brought mine in last night!!! i wonder if its still alight!!

fettle - glad to hear you are so chirpy!!! i am not so chirpy today!!! had a bad night............marcy seems to alternate between angel and devil on alternate nights! ..............hopefully means she should be an angel tonight!!!

she started smiling yesterday!!!! it was amazing! i thought she had smiled the day before but dcided she was too young and it must have been a windy smile, but then dh said he thought she smiled at him yesterday morning and then she DEFINATELY smiled at me a few times later on!!!

firsty - was ty sleeping through before or was that his first time? i remember when mine first started sleeping through and i felt so full of energy the next day...................cant wait for that feeling again!! you said you weren't going to have any more babies originally, so i am glad you have changed your mind!!! do you have to persuade dh now?

honey - sorry you are getting so fed up. how overdue have you been in the past? dont stop posting............do it while you can!

honeyapple · 01/11/2007 19:06

Hiya....

No, of course I cant stop posting !!

I was 10 days over with DD, so that does put this time into perspective a bit... I guess I just thought I would be early or on time cos the silly scanner said LO was measuring nearly a week early...

Everyone I talk to seems to have some advice on how to get labour started though which is starting to get a bit irksome . What actually is caster oil? Is it from a plant? What is it supposed to be used for (other than labour induction)? BTW I have no intention of going down that route... unless I get to the 8th nov and no baby. DO NOT want to be induced.

Greedy- hope Marcy is an angel for you tonight... smiling already, that's impressive... she's only 3 and a bit weeks isnt she? I am sure you are right though and it isnt wind.

Might also get MW to do another sweep next week if nothing this weekend... perhaps really loud fireworks might do the trick...

rainbowdays · 02/11/2007 09:10

Honey - it is my daughters birthday today, I at this stage I was really hoping for a 5th November birthday for her, but she decided to come on the 2nd instead. Having never gone overdue I cannot imagine how horrible it is. But I do know to tell you definitely do not not not take caster oil, it can cause harm to the baby and it is not worth the pain involved just to avoid an induction. Sorry had to warn you off that one. So instead I will give you yet another suggestion to annoy you!!!! I was reading a book last night on water births, and it said that sometimes when people are getting niggly long pre-labours being in warm water can help raise the levels of oto-what-ever-it-is, that triggers the start of labour. So in my thinking you deserve a long soak in a wonderfully relaxing bath tonight!!!! Any excuse huh!

Greedy - good to hear that you are getting those heartwarming smiles now, arrhhh how cute.

Sorry got to get back to work now, will come back later if I get a chance.

Hi all, no time to really catch up as my pal is still here but just want to say hi and, erm, check on the weather... Sunny here today

Close your ears honey - "Listen, baby honeyapple, the time has come to pop out, we're on here every day waiting for your arrival and your mum really doesn't want to be induced, so come on, todays a good day to be born "

Sorry, crossed with you Firsty and Chooster. Lovely weather eh!

rainbowdays · 02/11/2007 11:42

Thank you for the birthday wishes for my dd, she is the grand old age of 3 today. Although I am not there dh assures me that both dd and ds think it is their birthdays today.... ds has wishful thinking! It feels strange to be so far away from my dd today, I just want to cuddle her and wish her happy birthday. But it will have to wait until I see her next week. Oh feeling homesick, need to get back to work I think!

MrsMcJnr · 02/11/2007 12:41

Hi all.

Sorry I've not been on for a bit, had a couple of bad days with Isla lately, but I think I have got to the bottom of the problem (sleep related), so have had a much better day today. Won't bore you all with the details though

Buggymad - great to hear from you - sounds like they're keeping you busy though!

Rainbow - Happy Birthday to your DD! Not long now til you;re home

Hoping that everyone else's babies are being little angels and sleeping well

greedygreedyguzzler · 02/11/2007 17:20

bodders - i thought that was why we were here.....to be bored with baby details! thats what i fully intend to keep on doing anyway! hope isla is more back to ormal now

rainbowdays - your post made me cry. you must be heartbroken not being with dd today. you are obviously VERY dedicated to your secret agent work. happy birthday to her!

honey - 10 days over is the way to go!!! thats what i was this time!!! i think marcy is smiling at 3 wks cos she WAS 10 days over! dont forget she could be the same age as toby if she had been a week early!!

chooster - exactly what sort of fun will you be having with your friend?? sounds a bit dodgy to me!!!

firsty - you will just have to work your womanly ways then wont you!!!!
hello to everyone else!!
hello everyone else!!

honeyapple · 02/11/2007 17:24

Hi greedy- so 10 days over would mean tuesday I think ...

DP is going to get a curry tonight and we are going to SHAG! A LOT! (Just eaten a pineapple and planning a hot bath soon)

My lovely sister just rang and said she'd have DC tommorrow and take them to her kids school's fireworks and then have them for the night.

Sorry if I am getting slightly obsessed about this...

fettleandbabyfettle · 02/11/2007 19:17

Don't worry Honey, I think we're all (if not more so) obsessed by your birth too!!! We're all in this together! have you got the webcam up yet!. sounds like you've got a great evening ahead of you!!!
oops - sorry, meant to say it's great weather here today!

Bodders, I'm with Greedy - share away. A problem shared is a problem halved and it may help one of us in the future - hope Isla is ok now and you are getting some more sleep.

Greedy - we're connect again! I was looking at toby earlier thinking about Marcy smiling so early and made the same connection, as he only really started smiling convincingly on Wednesday, which was the same day as Marcy wasn't it? think he's a bit of a serious boy as he hasn't really smiled much since at me - odd little smilelets!

Had 6 week check today - all ok except has umbilical hernia which we are to ignore for time being and probably has reflux so we have picked up our prescription for infant gaviscon - not quite sure how to give it to him - tried a bottle which went better than I thought, but then thought the taste might put him off bottles for life!!!! So used a infant neurofen syringe, which seemed to work better - he certainly seems happier this evening, so we'll see how it goes! Have to say that yet again I'm very impressed with the health service round here - long may it last!!

Have to rush off now sorry - got to sort the kitchen before he wants more food - hopefully catch a bit more over the weekend - these babies and toddlers take up so much time don't they!!! Message to Iwillbe, Seaside, Mrs and anyone else with their 1st, really really enjoy your time, as when you have two it completely vanishes!!! [although I seem to remember never managing to get anything done when I just had DD?!

good weekends!

Hello all, Hope everyone is OK.

Well you must be having yours sooner rather than later honey. I have a feeling in my waters that it will be over this weekend...

I'm so tired as my friends little boy stayed last night and he snores! I love my sleep and kids do have a habit of spoiling it! So for all you newbie mums watch out!

I'm off to relax with hubbie. Speak soon Xx
