aureliacecilia · 10/08/2020 14:56

My booking appt is next week at approx 9 weeks and I've got an appointment at a particular date/time. I'm hoping I'll be told how to book my dating scan then or given a date during the appointment.

ChilternsHan · 10/08/2020 15:24

@Charlotte2020 my booking appointment was by phone, and they will be taking urine, bloods etc at 12 week scan. 16 week appt will be face to face with the midwife but no idea beyond that at the moment

Sam202020 · 10/08/2020 15:31

Hi, sorry to jump in. I have my booking appointment tomorrow over the phone, could anyone who has already had it give me an idea of how long theirs lasted please? Mine is at "around 4" tomorrow and I finish work at 5 so I could go out of the way to take the call but worried they will be trying to close the building up when I'm still on the phone. Thanks for any replies in advance!

DSP21 · 10/08/2020 15:34

Booking appt all done, bloods being done next Monday. Epu still telling me to sit tight and monitor my bleeding even though I said i'm having cramping :( how do they expect you to wait till 12 weeks to find out good/bad news!

FTM2B · 10/08/2020 15:57

I am due 5th March with first child! Our first scan is next week and we are so excited!

I had my 8 week appointment over the phone and was told I would get my bloods done before the scan. Had a call today to say the bloods will be done at my scan. Is anyone else going to their 12 week scan without seeing any medical professional face to face? I haven't even been to my GP for them to test i am actually pregnant (although the 6 tests i used at home were all very clear positives!)

DSP21 · 10/08/2020 16:03

@Sam202020 my booking appt lasted about 30 minutes so wasn't too long. Mostly a bunch of questions about your health and family history and few bits of useful info.

FTM2B · 10/08/2020 16:04

@Sam202020 My booking appointment was over the phone at week 8. It lasted about 25 mins but this will depend on the answers you will give.

From my experience, they took all my details and asked about medical history of immediate family of mine and baby's dad. We do not have a huge amount of medical history and neither me or my husband have any medical conditions so this was all quite straight forward answers for us. I suppose the time will vary depending on how much information you need to provide.

FTM2B · 10/08/2020 16:07

@aureliacecilia That is so exciting! I had mine a couple of weeks ago at 8 weeks. They advised the 12 week scan date would be posted out within a couple of weeks but i received the letter with the appointment date with 1 week! Due my scan next week and so excited for it!

Good luck for your booking appointment and hopefully you will receive your scan appointment quickly after that!

Sam202020 · 10/08/2020 16:16

@DSP21 @FTM2B thank you both! I will risk it and stay in work then, even if the call is a bit late I will still make it out of here. There are no serious health issues so should be relatively straight forward. First baby and a bit on edge with everything as I was sent straight to EPAU after finding out as my GP suspected ectopic. 2 scans and 10 days later I found out all was in the right place Smile and it was a cyst causing the pain.

Babafarmer · 10/08/2020 16:19

@Sam202020 my booking appointment was over the phone and lasted exactly an hour I then went down to the surgery for bloods and a urinalysis.
I have the choice if I want the screening bloods done at the 12 week scan. In our area all other appointments are currently done over the phone. I however have a history of anxiety so they have offered to do my 16 and 24 week appointments face to face

aureliacecilia · 10/08/2020 16:19

Thanks @Ftm2b! My post is awful so I hope they aren't reliant on that. We only get letters once a week at the moment. I appreciate things are difficult because of COVID but it is a bit of a nuisance.

I can't remember my booking appointment with my first pregnancy very well but I think I had bloods taken after my 12 week scan then too. I am expected to be referred to the obstetric team this time around (my first pregnancy was midwife-led) because of a previous c-section and preterm birth so I'm quite intrigued to see what happens next. I don't think they will be in a particular hurry to see me but I would like to get some answers for how I'll be looked after during this pregnancy.

FTM2B · 10/08/2020 16:20

@Sam202020 Good luck for your call, hope all goes well. Sounds like you had a scary start but glad to hear the scan showed up good!

Oldermum80 · 10/08/2020 16:30

@DSP21 are they not going to do a follow up scan before 12 weeks? You’ll be going out of your mind!

DSP21 · 10/08/2020 16:38

@Oldermum80 tell me about it! I'm soo anxious and on edge and don't understand why I keep being fobbed off. My midwife tried to refer me to epu and they said only if bleeding is heavy/clotted. Now my gp has tried to refer me and hoping to hear back by tomorrow.

The early scan I did last week only showed a sac, so that combined with bleeding and no symptoms doesn't feel promising

DiscordandRhyme · 10/08/2020 16:42

Hi - joining again LMP 13th of June / due date based off it 19th of March.

This heat is hard to sleep in and making my nausea quite erratic.

Have a couple of long journeys next few weekends hope I can hold up :)

aureliacecilia · 10/08/2020 16:44

Is anyone else suffering from acne since being pregnant? I've come out in spots on my chest and a few blemishes on my face. I've not suffered with these since I was in my teens and early 20s!

chloxhunt · 10/08/2020 16:48

@aureliacecilia yeah I've been breaking out a lot more and it's the ones that hurt too!

chloxhunt · 10/08/2020 16:53

Sorry tmi has anyone else got yellow discharge? Mines usually yellow anyway but it's slightly darker today kinda the colour of snot (not green) I had an internal scan a few days ago and everything was fine, I'm seeing the midwife on Wednesday for the first time so if I still get it I'll talk to her about it but I'm anxious about it

Csj123 · 10/08/2020 17:36

Hi everyone, joining again.
@Sam202020 i had my booking appt last week and it was nearly 2 hours but i dont have any complicated medical history or anything..perhaps she was just being very thorough! It was in person at home and she did my bloods/urine too so perhaps thats why it was longer than others are saying here. Imagine you'll be fine but if worried perhaps just explain your time restrictions at the start.
I'm 8+4 and still getting awful sickness and tiredness. Really hoping things improve after the first trimester!!

Csj123 · 10/08/2020 17:38

@aureliacecilia yes i have been breaking out in spots too, chest and face which I never normally have, not liking it!

ChilternsHan · 10/08/2020 17:55

@chloxhunt yes I've had this! How far along are you? I'm 8+6.

It's never loads, just a bit when I wipe in the last few days. I think it's to do with the (sorry) increased mucus production that helps form the mucus plug....such a glamorous time!

Sussexbysea · 10/08/2020 17:57

@aureliacecilia I’ve come out in lots of spots too. I had recently got my skin under control too using body shop products. I had a couple On my chest too.

Also, hair... lets all talk hair. My jaw line is getting hairy!!

chloxhunt · 10/08/2020 18:02

@ChilternsHan I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow! Ahh maybe that's what it is then? I'm get anxious over everything at this stage lol

DiscordandRhyme · 10/08/2020 18:11

@aureliacecilia oh yes normally my face is very clear but at the monent I have more spots than I did as a teen.

@chloxhunt yes well mine is usually white now light yellow and like an egg yolk.
