I had mine yesterday and had the same thing - no video or face timing allowed which was a shame but didn’t have to pay for the images which they usually make you do which was nice.

It’s such a worrying time getting to this milestone I hope everyone is ok

LeopardLover · 30/09/2020 09:40

@LuckyFlash Glad yours went okay as well, yesterday! It's such a worrying time and the situation with the pandemic adds an extra layer of stress unfortunately. 😔

GreySkyClouds · 30/09/2020 10:58
@GreySkyClouds Thanks for the kind message. They wouldn't let me take photos, videos or FaceTime him as it was 'against policy'. But I did get an extra scan picture free of charge.. Everything went well luckily. I can't imagine how awful it would have been to get bad news without him by my side.

@Parkandride Mine are saying partners are allowed at the 20 week too. Hopefully yours extends that to the 12 week scan before your appointment. How are your teeth today? My dentist is only seeing people for emergency work at the moment.
That’s a bit shit. I’m pleased you were able to have tour private scan otherwise it feels like they would have ruined the moment.

I’m pleased that all is well. Would be terrible to get bad news by oneself. I’m so annoyed that this is being allowed to happen.

haidri · 30/09/2020 11:22

I had a miscarriage. Broke hearted.

LeopardLover · 30/09/2020 11:25

@haidri Oh no, I am so sorry to hear this. 💔😔 I hope you are being supported? Try to be kind to yourself, this is such sad news. Thinking of you 💐

GreySkyClouds · 30/09/2020 13:57

@haidri

I had a miscarriage. Broke hearted.
So sorry Haidri Flowers
BuckleUp · 30/09/2020 14:41

@haidri So sorry. Thinking of you 💐 x

Sino101 · 30/09/2020 14:49

Hi 👋 the week before I found out I was preggies I was so sad because I had started feeling my usual period symptoms and thought well the crimson tide is probably on the way. I took the pregnancy test for the fun of it and voila twas positive. Anyway fast-forward im 10w+3, last time I had scan about 3 weeks back I was told I'm expecting twins. My next scan is in 3 weeks Oct 21...I asked the midwife "wow 3 weeks?? What 😳 what do I do until then?" 😀its my first pregnancy, its soooo hard to wait that long. Especially now, my breast sensitivity has gone, I don't seem to use bathroom quite as frequently...so my mind is spinning..like what has changed?? Anyway just trusting God all is still well. Am grateful for this thread, hope to learn and share experiences with you all.

Parkandride · 30/09/2020 15:51

I'm so sorry @haidri you will be so devastated, please look after yourself Flowers so sad to have bad news on the thread this week

@buckleUp I've got an appointment tomorrow thank you, thought I'd have to fight for one but they sounded quite bored without patients! They said it sounded more like a gum issue which can be more common in pregnancy, another nice perk Grin

Welcome @sino101, twins - amazing! Do they run in your families?

83Mimi · 30/09/2020 16:20

Am due on/near my birthday - which is quite fun :)

It's nice to see people worrying about the 12 week scan - I am so anxious about it now and really struggling with the wait (monday). In the end spoke to my boss to say i'm pregnant and struggling with fatigue and anxiety and he was so supportive, so that's a weight off my mind. I've just got it in my head that because i have had so few pregnancy symptons that something must be wrong. We were trying for so long to get pregnant that i had almost accepted it wouldn't happen for us, and then it just happened naturally...i think that's why i just cant believe it will be ok somehow. It's not logical but that's how i feel. How are you all managing emotions and making time go by a bit quicker??

LeopardLover · 30/09/2020 17:43

@Sino101 Hello and welcome 😊 I had the very same thing - really bad cramping and was pretty shocked seeing that BFP! WOW - twins! Congratulations 🎊

I understand how annoying the wait is, my 12 week scan isn't until 13 weeks 😴 It's such a long wait and your mind plays tricks on you... I've never had strong symptoms but now my slight night time nausea is easing it's another thing on my mind. At least we're all in it together 😉

@83Mimi Ooooh Monday is so close!! I know how you feel, I've had mild symptoms from the beginning but I am still peeing in the night and still hate the thought of a cup of tea 😅 Tea has been ruined for me. Does your local trust allow partners to the 12 week scan?

83Mimi · 30/09/2020 18:05

@LeopardLover yes so soon and yet still feels so far! Lots of family stuff on weekend and I hate keeping it from everyone but I’m just not ready to say anything until I know all is ok. My only symptoms have been lots of burping and very tired, so I’m a real joy to be around too!

No parters at 12 weeks but they are allowed at 20. Not sure why it’s that way round. Surely 12 is where the ‘risk’ of bad news so need for support is higher?

indecisivewoman81 · 30/09/2020 18:47

I've had some red spotting today when I wipe, phoned the EPU and got a scan booked for tomorrow. I am 10+4. I feel really worried

LeopardLover · 30/09/2020 19:33

@83Mimi I'm in a very similar situation! Seeing family at the weekend, then in a couple of weeks my pregnant SIL is coming to stay! I just want to spill the beans already 😅

@indecisivewoman81

I'm not sure what the logic is with that one. I guess there's still a risk at the anomaly scan - that they deem more important... Hmmm.

@indecisivewoman81 From what I've read online this can be quite common and doesn't necessarily mean anything sinister - although it's natural to be worried. 😔 What time is your scan? Hoping it all goes okay and reassures you. 💖

LeopardLover · 30/09/2020 19:33

@indecisivewoman81 @83Mimi Sorry my formatting went a bit weird there xx

cgirl16 · 30/09/2020 19:38

Hi @Tiff94 just commenting so you can hopefully add me to the FB group x

LuckyFlash · 30/09/2020 20:18

@indecisivewoman81 I had exactly the same thing at exactly the same time. Apparently the placenta attaches in week 10 and often causes spotting (I feel like they should tell you that!). Mine only lasted a day but I had a scan at the EPU and all was fine so keeping my fingers crossed for you

Lollol86 · 30/09/2020 20:33

@haidri I'm so sorry. I had a miscarriage in June, give yourself some time and take care of
Yourself xx

indecisivewoman81 · 30/09/2020 20:34

@LuckyFlash and @LeopardLover thank you both. My scan is at 12 and I really am worried because it's there every time I wipe and I just feel really disheartened by the whole thing.

It's great news that this has happened to others and was the placenta attaching. I really hope this is the same.

LeopardLover · 30/09/2020 22:11

@indecisivewoman81 Fingers crossed that's it - the placenta attaching! When everything is new to you it just adds to the anxiety. I hope you manage to sleep okay and it's all positive news tomorrow xxx

BuckleUp · 01/10/2020 07:49

@GreySkyClouds Thanks, the private scan we had a few weeks ago did make it easier to attend the 12 week one on my own.

@LeopardLover Not long until your scan now! Looking forward to you shifting over to the Facebook group 😊

@Sino101 Welcome to the group 😊. Congratulations on twins! You're going to have your hands full!

@Parkandride Glad you've got an appointment sorted. I think gum issues are really common in pregnancy, hence the free dental care which is a nice perk!

@83Mimi Welcome to the group. It's normal to have some anxiety at this stage. I'm pleased your boss is supportive. I found the time passed quicker if I kept busy.

@indecisivewoman81 I hope your scan today is able to reassure you that all is well. There are a few ladies on here that have experienced spotting and there were common reasons behind it. Definitely worth getting it checked out though. Thinking of you x

LeopardLover · 01/10/2020 09:45

@BuckleUp Honestly feels like an eternity away haha! Although I think my energy is coming back, so might try my long morning walks again! I just need bigger sports leggings 😅 I have Facebook group FOMO!!

BuckleUp · 01/10/2020 09:51

@LeopardLover Glad you're starting to feel more like yourself. The Facebook group is good because it's easier to keep track of discussions. I silenced the notifications so I don't get them unless I go on the actual group, and it was all private so, unless a friend is already on it, no one else will know you've joined! I was worried it might accidentally announce my pregnancy to the world 😂. Enjoy your long walks!

cgirl16 · 01/10/2020 10:03

Hi ladies, 👋 who is moderator on the FB group? I’ve tried to add myself but not sure if it works if you’re not friends?!
