@KeepSmiling89 How exciting! It can bring such a mix of emotions but I am also really nervous. Once the 12 weeks scan is done and find out everything is hopefully fine I imagine women start to feel a lot more relaxed. I'm counting down the days for mine (11 days) 😆

SazCat · 28/09/2020 19:23

It was no partners in my area, but thankfully they announced on Friday that from today they are allowing a partner at 12 and 20 week scans.

I was really surprised at the update as I thought things were getting stricter so didn't think there was a chance it would change the other way!

It's a shame it varies such much from area to area.

LeopardLover · 28/09/2020 22:06

@Sastuk Good tip re scan photos!! I hope you get your scan date through soon and great news you allowed your partner there with you. 😊 It is a bit odd that the rules vary so much. I don't necessarily agree but understand it being strict in areas that have a local lockdown, but not in those that don't!

@BuckleUp Good luck tomorrow and let us know how it goes! 💕 I bet it's a magical experience. I can relate, I'm honestly out of puff walking up steps 😅 I'm not sure what people think of me.

@KeepSmiling89 Good luck tomorrow! So happy your partner is allowed it with you as you've been counting down. You made it!! 💜

@SkyeBarn Not long for you either! My 12 week is so far away still. I'm just ready to tell everyone 😅

BuckleUp · 29/09/2020 08:30

@KeepSmiling89 Mine is today too. Glad you can have your DP there. My DH is pretty disappointed he can't be there with me..

@Lollol86 There are a few April threads kicking around, welcome to this one though! So happy your scan went well, not long to wait until your 12 week now 😆

@SazCat That's such good news for you. Fingers crossed they don't change their minds again!

@LeopardLover I'll try and share a picture, I hope bean is feeling photogenic today 😂. Luckily there's a lift to the maternity ward so I haven't got to puff my way up the stairs!
@Sastuk Congratulations on your BFP. I'm sorry it's been such a difficult journey for you, but hopefully even the sickness will be worth it when you're finally holding baby in your arms.

I'm feeling upset and disappointed. It was expected, but I've just called the antenatal department to find out if DH can join me tomorrow and he can't. I know it's why we booked a private scan two weeks ago, but it just feels so unfair, especially when it's our first.. I think I was holding out hope that the rules might have changed, hence feeling so upset about it 😢
I hope that your scan goes well today. Get him on FaceTime if they’ll let you/the screen is large enough to see.

Sorry you have to go by yourself.

Parkandride · 29/09/2020 10:18

Good luck to all those having scans, the exciting part! Glad some partners can attend, wish they'd hurry up and extend it everywhere - mine are still just saying just the 20 week one but I've still 2 weeks to wait

Started with toothache last night, mainly when I brush. Not sure if bad timing or if pregnancy triggers stuff? I've not been sick so it's not due to that. Not even sure if my dentist is seeing people!

KeepSmiling89 · 29/09/2020 11:03

Hi everyone. Had my 12 week scan this morning. Unfortunately, was hit with bad news as I was only measuring at around 7 weeks and couldn't find a heartbeat. Being referred to early pregnancy unit for confirmation and plan next steps so should have an appointment tomorrow.
Not on best form just now and just trying to contact my work to let them know I can't work today or tomorrow.

LeopardLover · 29/09/2020 11:15

@KeepSmiling89 I'm so so sorry to hear this. 😔 Definitely take as much time off work as you need and try to look after yourself. Hope DH is caring for you too. You're in my thoughts xx

BuckleUp · 29/09/2020 11:17

@KeepSmiling89 Aww hun, I'm so so sorry. That's the worst fear. Take good care of yourself and see if work will give you a bit longer off for your mental health as well as the physical side. Thinking of you 💐

Parkandride · 29/09/2020 13:23

I'm so sorry @keepsmiling89 that is the worst news, I'm glad you could have your partner with you but it doesn't make it any easier. Please take all the time you need Flowers

NMS90 · 29/09/2020 13:55

@KeepSmiling89 I'm so so so sorry to hear this, it is my worst nightmare and I'm sure yours too. Nothing will make you feel better right now but I really hope that you have good support. Sending you lots of love x

Lollol86 · 29/09/2020 14:20

@KeepSmiling89 I'm so sorry to read this, I went through a mc in June and it is heartbreaking. Take some time out xx

haidri · 29/09/2020 14:33

@KeepSmiling89 you're a supermamaaa just as the other mums out there. You're brilliant and never for once have a moment of self-blame. Take some time out, and relax! Wishing you luck x

Lynz2020 · 29/09/2020 15:49

@KeepSmiling89 Sorry to hear this, I went through the same thing in April. It's horrible to have to go through.

LuckyFlash · 29/09/2020 16:27

So sorry to hear that @KeepSmiling89 😢 thinking of you

haidri · 29/09/2020 17:01

I had spotting last week, but woke up today with heavy bleeding. GP said I could be miscarrying so I should go A&E. sitting in A&E now, wish me luck. It's my first pregnancy! Sad

Fingers crossed for you that things are okay.
LeopardLover · 29/09/2020 18:33

@haidri Sending lots of virtual hugs and thinking positive thoughts! X

KeepSmiling89 · 29/09/2020 23:16

Thank you for your kind words of support. Spoke to my manager this afternoon and she was so lovely just said to not even think about work and that I'd be on sick leave until I let them know otherwise.
Today's been the longest day ever and just want it to be over. DH is looking after me and being so amazing but I know he's struggling too.
Got my appointment with EPU tomorrow afternoon for another scan to confirm and then a consultation to discuss options. I've had a look online already so pretty sure I know what I want to do.
All the best to everyone having their scans soon. Hope you all have happy and healthy pregnancies.

BuckleUp · 30/09/2020 07:18

@KeepSmiling89 Your manager sounds lovely. Do as she says and take all the time you need. You're in my thoughts x

@haidri How did your A&E trip go? Hope you're ok x

BuckleUp · 30/09/2020 07:24

@GreySkyClouds Thanks for the kind message. They wouldn't let me take photos, videos or FaceTime him as it was 'against policy'. But I did get an extra scan picture free of charge.. Everything went well luckily. I can't imagine how awful it would have been to get bad news without him by my side.

@Parkandride Mine are saying partners are allowed at the 20 week too. Hopefully yours extends that to the 12 week scan before your appointment. How are your teeth today? My dentist is only seeing people for emergency work at the moment.

LeopardLover · 30/09/2020 08:16

@KeepSmiling89 Glad both your manager and DH have been supportive. I hope this afternoon goes okay. Sending you lots of love x

LeopardLover · 30/09/2020 08:18

@BuckleUp Glad everything went well for you yesterday 😊 Bit annoying they wouldn't let you take content for your DH - you'd think they'd be a little more considerate but hey ho, I guess there's a reason for it!! Over 2 weeks until mine 😴
