Morning @BuckleUp and everyone. Happy Friday! Feeling ok today, had to come into work for a meeting so stocked up on cereal bars and fruit to keep me going. Nausea has been average this week...bad when I don't eat.
10 weeks today and Scan tomorrow! Feeling excited but nervous.

How are we all?

LeopardLover · 18/09/2020 09:39

@BuckleUp It's just strangely continuing to hit in the evenings! I'm struggling to eat dinner - I've just cancelled our food box because I'm no longer interested in the fun recipes. I'm just eating plain jacket potatoes 😭 if I don't eat by 7pm I'm done for 😅 That's good news your nausea is improving in the day!! 👏🏻 I still feel "off" in the day but it's not like week 6. I'm sooo out of puff too! Need to psyche myself up to do a walk today - I don't even recognise myself these days. Just believing I'll be back to my old self come week 13 😉

LeopardLover · 18/09/2020 09:40

@newgirl14 Yay! I love it when I reach a new week (and spend ages researching what other women feel at the same stage). I hope your scan goes well tomorrow - that's so exciting!

BuckleUp · 18/09/2020 09:47

@newgirl14 Sounds like you're fully prepared for a hard days graft. Congratulations on entering a new week!

@LeopardLover Good idea cancelling the food boxes for a bit. I've stopped meal planning because I never fancy it by the time it comes to cooking. Jacket potato and cheese is a staple for me at the moment though, I can't get enough! Like you I'm keeping my fingers crossed for normality as soon as I hit week 13 😂. I've been waiting until then to do some of the more solvent based painting too (with a mask on). Getting DH to strip the lead paint while I'm out though!

KeepSmiling89 · 18/09/2020 09:48

Hi all! Hit the 11 week mark yesterday. Wee bit of nausea this morning (never thought I'd be grateful for that!)
11 days till our first scan! Getting more excited than anxious which is good though. Busy with work stuff just now as well so thats occupying my mind a good deal.

LuckyFlash · 18/09/2020 12:14

My nausea has also moved from all day every day to a much more manageable low level during the day and only bad at night. Really hoping this is a sign it’s on its way out!!

I have also got to a point where I can’t suck my tummy in so I think there’s a teeny tiny little bump there (visible only to me lol)

LeopardLover · 18/09/2020 12:33

@BuckleUp Poor OH is doing all the cooking too because I can't handle it 😅 I think I spoke a bit too soon re nausea, I'm feeling sick today! Ahhh, I'm also so desperate to do painting and stripping of old paint on woodwork etc. OH keeps asking if one of my best pals would help, they totally would but we can't telling them why I'm the lazy person not getting involved so it's not worth it 🤣

@KeepSmiling89 Glad you're feeling more excited 😁 Nausea is reassuring!

@LuckyFlash It's good news things are improving for you!! I'm bursting out of my jeans but I just look like I've added lockdown weight 😅xx

AprilShowers2021 · 18/09/2020 13:03

Happy Friday ladies!

@BuckleUp - So I've been using the band for two days. They apply pressure with a little button in-between the two bones and three fingers down from your wrist. I find them quite painful, but I'm determined to give them a chance. It's more of an acupuncture technique. I got them from a Sainsbury's pharmacy. Here's a pic of them.

I agree re wearing a mask, it definitely masks the nausea worse. I visited my doctor again and they told me to up my dose of Cyclizine and if that doesn't work then reluctantly I will have to go into hospital for a drip. How is your sickness now?

Fingers crossed your DP can attend an earlier scan.

AlbertCookie · 18/09/2020 13:05

Oh my God I feel so fat today hahaGrin!! I look like I've got a proper little bump. I'm sure it's just bloating.

I can just about hold off the nausea during the day now, it just hits me in the evenings with the occasional run up to the toilet to be sick!

I used travel sickness bands in my last pregnancy and they worked!! But not this time.

Tiff94 · 18/09/2020 14:56

@AprilShowers2021 I have same one but read I find if you wear them on the right side just one there really good sometimes if I have the left side too long I feel heart palpitations.

AprilShowers2021 · 18/09/2020 15:05

@Tiff94 thanks for the tip. I guess that kind of makes sense with the heart being on the left side. I will try wearing one on the right and see if it makes a difference. I'm desperate to find something that works and avoid hospitalisation.

I'm sat here with jelly and watermelon; ready for when the thirst and hunger strikes.

@AlbertCookie these alternatives treatments are so hit and miss. It's my first pregnancy, but I'm filled with dread as I've heard that you're more likely to suffer with subsequent pregnancy if you've had it before.

The things we go through, ay. I do feel extremely grateful to be pregnant when so many of my friends are struggling, but gosh it's harder than I thought it would be...

Tiff94 · 18/09/2020 16:11

@AprilShowers2021 I understand what you mean after two trips already to hospital I am desperately doing everything I can to keep myself from being admitted again. Been using the bands for a week now since I came out of hospital and found they take the nausea away a certain times. But I've also changed medication as well this week. It's such a hard time trying to find what actually works for yourself. I find things other people say help them do absolutely nothing for me.

NMS90 · 18/09/2020 16:36

Hi everyone, hugs to everyone having a hard time with sickness, hopefully not much longer now 🤞
We've had a drama filled couple of days as I had some bleeding on Wednesday evening. It was short lived but bright red and I was convinced that it was the beginning of the end. I ended up in my EPAU via A&E where they confirmed that my cervix was closed but said I'd have to go back the following day for a scan to see what was happening. As you can imagine it was a sleepless night (made worse by quite a bit of brown spotting) and my husband and I were devastated.
Anyway, I went back to the EPAU yesterday afternoon for the scan (alone unfortunately due to the rules 😢) and unbelievably my little baba was there on the screen with a lovely strong little heart beat. I truly couldn't believe it.
They told me to watch out for further symptoms but said I don't need any further follow up as it's more common than one would think, they said it is probably the placenta implanting.
We already had a private scan booked for Sunday so we're going to go to that one too so that my husband can see and also for the extra reassurance - probably being a bit neurotic but I don't think I'll be satisfied until I've seen it again a few days after the bleeding!
I spent lots of time reading Mumsnet threads to try to look for others with similar experiences so sharing a positive outcome here just in case anyone suffers anything similar!
XX
PS I've also cancelled my meal prep box for a few weeks as I couldn't face it!

AprilShowers2021 · 18/09/2020 17:14

@nms90 I'm so glad to hear that everything is OK.

AlbertCookie · 18/09/2020 19:16

@NMS90 oh no how worrying for you, but very glad to hear all is well

newgirl14 · 18/09/2020 19:23

@NMS90 I bet that was horrible for you both ... but so glad to read that the scan went well xx

newgirl14 · 19/09/2020 13:39

Had my scan...Smile came in 2 days back at 9weeks 6days. ❤️

SVC11 · 20/09/2020 00:58

Hey ladies 10 weeks 2 days today. A bit of pain and I had some bleeding so I ha d a scan and luckily all is perfect. Phew! Would love to join xxx

BuckleUp · 20/09/2020 09:45

@KeepSmiling89 Glad you're keeping busy, not long now!

@LuckyFlash I definitely have a slight protrusion in my lower abdomen.. unfortunately it's overshadowed by by severely bloated stomach 😂. I had a bad day for nausea yesterday but generally it seems to be gradually improving now.

@LeopardLover You'll be able to enlist your friends' help soon! I've been buying all the ppe to help me paint with solvents. I'm being shooed out into the garden this morning while DH uses the heat gun to strip some lead paint. Been trying to leave these jobs until at least 2nd trimester..

@AprilShowers2021 How are you feeling today? Hopefully you can avoid a hospital drip but at least you know it's an option. Thanks for showing me the sickness bands you're using 😊

@AlbertCookie Hope you're feeling better still. My nausea is worse in the evenings now too. Do you find the bloating makes you feel more pregnant than you are?!

@Tiff94 I'm sorry you're still feeling so poorly. Hopefully the end is in sight for you soon!

@NMS90 That must have been so worrying! Glad everything is ok though. Make sure you get plenty of rest. From what I've read on here bleeding at this stage is fairly common and usual nothing to worry about. I definitely understand the concern though! I hope your private scan goes well too 😊

@newgirl14 Congratulations, what a beautiful scan! 🥰

@SVC11 Welcome to the group! I'm glad your scan could confirm everything was ok for you. Take care of yourself x

KeepSmiling89 · 20/09/2020 10:18

Countdown to first scan in single figures now...9 days!

LeopardLover · 20/09/2020 12:26

@BuckleUp Really looking forward to having a scan date so there's an end date in sight. I mentioned to MIL I was craving something yesterday and she was like, CRAVING! Should I be suspicious!? Me: Noooo. GULP Also weirdly my Dad accused me of being pregnant in the week which I straight up panicked and denied so maybe there's no fooling anyone 😅

Ahhh, bless you! I'm so fed up of not being allowed to get involved, it must be exactly the same for you. I think our new neighbours think I'm working OH to the ground while I'm nowhere to be seen 🙈 I really want to use the heat gun I bought! Lol.

@NMS90 Omgosh, you poor thing! So glad all is well - you must've been so concerned. Really hope your scan today is a much more enjoyable one. 😊 I have 4 recipes left over in the fridge 🙈

@newgirl14 What a lovely clear photo! Congratulations 😍

@SVC11 Welcome and congrats to you! Glad all is well and you had that reassurance 💕

@KeepSmiling89 9 days isn't long at all!! I'm going to be counting down the days until mine too (whenever it is). X

BuckleUp · 20/09/2020 13:25

@KeepSmiling89 Yay! I think mine might be too 😊

@LeopardLover Haha, you can never fool your parents! I don't feel too bad because I'm digging out the garden, not too arduous, but definitely 'proper' graft 😂. Using a heat gun is very satisfying!

Lynz2020 · 20/09/2020 13:27

I've got my scan booked in for 3 weeks time. I now don't have my cramping but I've still got nausea and sore boobs, also have an upset stomach pretty much every day. Hopefully everything is still good.

AprilShowers2021 · 20/09/2020 14:23

@newgirl14 lovely photo and congrats.

@buckleup I've managed to eat some cereal this morning and now sat in the garden enjoying some fresh air. I'm still extremely nauseous, but trying to keep going. How are you feeling?

@LeopardLover we've got a lot of DIY stoll to do since we began renovating our house. Our neighbours make a joke out of me being a slave driver and making DH do all the work. He'll be doing even more now. I'm sat outside whilst he painto all the plastering we've had done in our hallway haha.

@Svc11 welcome and congrats

@keepSmiling89 how exciting. I'm about 10 weeks and 5 days and still waiting for an appointment date for my 12 week scan. I can't wait!

KeepSmiling89 · 20/09/2020 15:58

I can't believe so many people don't have a date for their 12 week scans...mine was booked by my midwife at my booking appointment on 12th August. I'd be itching for a date if I didn't have one by now!
