@LeopardLover I'm welcoming the symptoms as I didn't have this at all last time. I don't get much stretching feelings but I do get cramping on and off every day, usually makes me feel more sickly at night.

MamaLulu1986 · 05/09/2020 13:22

@LeopardLover 😂 yes I thought birth preferences was a bit keen but I think it's because I've had a baby before which resulted in a 4th degree tear so I have to be referred to a birth choices clinic.... I think it's normally much later on when you discuss that? 34 weeks is ringing a bell in my head??? Could be different now as I had my daughter 4 years ago 🙈

MamaLulu1986 · 05/09/2020 21:21

Am I right in thinking there's a private Facebook group that I can join for this thread??? 🤔

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 05/09/2020 22:53

Yes @MamaLulu1986. I think the link is in one of the first few pages. I’ve been meaning to join it myself. You’ve reminded me.

BuckleUp · 06/09/2020 08:11

@ARIO It seems to be a very different process depending on which area you live. I hope you get you booking in appointment soon

@FoxtrotOscarPoppet @Lynz2020 I hope your nausea subsides soon, at least you're close to the 12 week mark and should soon feel a bit better.

@LeopardLover How are you feeling today? I wouldn't worry if your symptoms come and go in waves, they'll be linked to the release of hormones so it makes sense for them to fluctuate. I'm still cramping, last nights cramps were really sharp so I'm worried somethings wrong. Guess I'll just wait and see though as I'm not bleeding thank god.

@MamaLulu1986 @GreySkyClouds @Parkandride @pandabear437 My booking in appointment was in person and they did height, weight, blood pressure and blood tests as well as medical history. I think some places are combining the physical part with the 12 week scan to limit contact. The only test the midwife couldn't do was carbon monoxide levels as it's a breatherliser type test.

@SkyeBarn I'm with you on the wait for the 12 week scan. I'm overthinking everything and am really worried about having the scan and finding out there's a 8 week embryo that's stopped developing.. I think it's fairly natural to worry at this stage though x

I got my blood type results through the post yesterday and apparently I'm rhesus negative which means I'll need injections to stop me building antibodies against the baby if it's rhesus positive. Has anyone else had this in a previous pregnancy?

LeopardLover · 06/09/2020 08:41

@MamaLulu1986 Ahhh, okay. I might push back on that if I can, to buy myself some time 😅

@BuckleUp Thank you. I felt a bit nauseous during the night but annoyingly it's gone this morning. I'm so desperate to feel awful 🙈 I still have cramps and I'm thirsty all the time but not much else.

I'm sorry to hear your cramps are sharp 😔 It's most likely just the stretching everyone talks about! And thankfully with no blood, it makes sense that's all it is. Gosh, this first trimester is so hard on the nerves, isn't it! Not long until that 12 week scan (I know it feels like forever away).

Sorry I can't help with the R-, I tried to do a little reading on this before we conceived but didn't quite understand it. It's relatively common so I'm sure you'll find help on the board. X

I got to see the heart beat today, I'm measuring 8 weeks and was able to see with an external scan. So relieved!

LeopardLover · 06/09/2020 18:18

@Lynz2020 Awww, that's incredible! Congratulations!

Lynz2020 · 06/09/2020 18:46

@LeopardLover Thankyou! It took dh a bit to see it, I think he was just in shock lol. Its 1.5cm big so teeny

LeopardLover · 06/09/2020 18:53

@Lynz2020 So so exciting! I bet you feel so reassured. We have an early scan in just under a week and I'm anxious / but also counting down the days. I'll be 8+2 - would love an external scan 😅

Lynz2020 · 06/09/2020 19:01

@LeopardLover Definitely, it's like a weight had been lifted and I'm just going to relax and try to not stress. Even though I'm back to work tomorrow after 6 months off because of the virus. I work in a school office. I definitely think you'll see enough at 8+2. They said they recommend internal but i said can you see anything external and she said they've been wrong before so could do an external one first so I said try that and if nothing then internal. They still gave me the option of internal after I could see everything but we were just like we're good we are happy we've seen the heartbeat. It's very nerving going in as you never know what's going to happen.

Parkandride · 06/09/2020 19:50

Aw @Lynz2020 so pleased for you, isn't it magical. Good that external worked too, excited for that. I'll probably waltz in and drop my knickers I'm so used to internal Grin

LeopardLover · 06/09/2020 21:43

@Lynz2020 Gosh, I'll definitely ask for external first then! @Parkandride this made me chuckle! 😊

I've had cramping for a few hours now which is unusual. Hoping it stops soon!

SkyeBarn · 06/09/2020 21:43

I had some brown discharge yesterday after wiping. I've rung my midwife and they've said it's normal between 7-9 weeks, thank god! Has anyone experienced this?

LeopardLover · 06/09/2020 21:44

@SkyeBarn I noticed a tiny amount a few days ago but it was sooo light and that was it - never saw anymore again. Apparently it is very common, although scary I know!

Lynz2020 · 06/09/2020 21:51

@LeopardLover id definitely ask for external, though id have a full bladder for it. I only had a cup of tea an hr before I went but I needed the toilet 3 times before and I still had a full bladder for the scan lol

LeopardLover · 06/09/2020 21:52

@Lynz2020 Haha mine is at 9am so I'll make sure I get all my liquids in early 😉

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 06/09/2020 22:59

Anyone else having issues with brushing their teeth at the moment?

Every time it’s guaranteed to get me retching and being sick.

Sals27 · 07/09/2020 00:26

Sorry everyone I've been so quiet on here. This is my second pregnancy/baby and I can't help but feel a bit sorry for the baby. My first pregnancy dominated my every thought for pretty much 9 entire months. This one barely registers because life is so busy with a full time job and a toddler, there isn't time for pregnancy day dreaming! Anyone else finding the same and feeling guilty?

We had an 8 week scan last week and all is good so that's a relief. I'm 9+1 today and some evening nausea has been creeping in over the past 3-4 days which is quite unwelcome but I'd rather it was evening than day time! How are all of you feeling? I'm going to make an effort to keep up with the conversation and remember I'm pregnant now work is quieting down Grin

Nazz10 · 07/09/2020 09:22

@Sals27 it's almost like I wrote your post! Except this is my first pregnancy. We've been having work done on the house and decorating. Then had other issues in life that have kept me busy and I almost keep forgetting that I'm pregnant!! And it makes me feel so guilty. I too have been having nausea over the past 3-4 days and just in the evenings and it makes me bloody miserable. Although today have been feeling nauseous this morning. Not actually had any vomiting yet but it's too early to say. I'm 9+1 today and thought that I had escaped the pregnancy sickness since the majority of people on this post have had the sickness way earlier than this

Parkandride · 07/09/2020 12:03

Noo I was hoping to avoid the nausea, was hoping if I didn't have it now I'd get away with it. Hope you don't feel too bad @nazz10 and @sals27

Wish time was flying here, so much waiting. Next step is my booking in appointment this week. Just want to get to 12 weeks!

LeopardLover · 08/09/2020 12:30

@Parkandride Hope your appointment goes well! 😊

@Rotagilla How are you feeling? Just checking all is okay!

AprilShowers2021 · 08/09/2020 17:35

Hi everyone, I'm about 9 weeks pregnant with my first, due on April 13. I've got my booking in appointment at 10 weeks (next Tuesday).

Are there any second, third time mums on here that can tell me what to expect when I go? The lady who called to tell me to come in didn't give me any information at all.

I was also surprised that there may be no scan at this appointment and that will be booked later, is that right?

@foxtrotOscarPoppet I completely sympathise with your struggles brushing your teeth.

I'm extremely nauseous and only managing a few slices of toast a day too.

SunshineD123 · 08/09/2020 18:02

Hi everyone congratulations on your pregnancies. I hope your all getting on okay.
I'm currently pregnant with my 4th and turning 9 weeks tomorrow. It wasn't exactly planned but now looking forward to it.

I have become very anxious about telling work. My youngest is only 1 years old so it doesn't feel like it's been that long since I announced my last pregnancy. Also because I work in a school it's all changed since covid and all about risk assessments.
Getting a bit down and worried about having to tell them but I know I will have to soon.
I weren't sure about whether to wait until dating scan. Has anyone else told work yet?
